Andrew Breitbart’s Epiphany
by PubliusFrom the LA Times:

The command center of Andrew Breitbart’s growing media empire is a suite of offices on Sawtelle Boulevard in West Los Angeles with the temporary feel of a campaign office. Only the computers seem firmly anchored.
On a recent summer day, just weeks after he posted video clips that touched off a national furor over race, Breitbart was swigging a bottled Frappuccino at his desk. In a Lacoste shirt, cargo shorts and laceless Converse All-Stars, he looked every bit the 41-year-old industry player he might have been, but for a political awakening that transformed this liberal, West Side child of privilege into a Hollywood-hating, mainstream-media-loathing conservative.
Breitbart, who has emerged as a star of the “tea party” movement, loves telling his apostate’s tale in the italicized, frequently profane manner that is his trademark. Three epiphanies stand out:
1. The Black Dorm Moment. In 1986, Breitbart was a freshman at Tulane University when his friend Larry Solov, a sophomore at Stanford, happened to mention his school’s African-American-themed residence hall.
“He just matter-of-factly said there was a black dorm and I was like, ‘What the friggin’ hell? Are you kidding me?’” said Breitbart, who is now business partners with Solov, a former corporate litigator.
“And then, when I found out that it was not segregation in the sense of white people doing it, I was like, ‘What are you talking about? Why aren’t we working toward the colorblind ideal?’”
2. The Clarence Thomas Moment. In 1991, he was riveted by Supreme Court hearings in which the future associate justice was grilled by hostile Democrats.
“I remember the mainstream media telling me, ‘Bad man! Really bad man! Sexual harassment bad man! Worst-bad-man-in-the-history-of-the-world bad man!” he told a Philadelphia tea party rally in July. “By the end of the week, I said, ‘What did this man do? This man is an American hero!’ … It was a cavalcade of Caucasians asking this man about his very private video rentals!”
3. The Kurt Cobain Moment, around 1994. “In essence, the media was saying, ‘Hey, see that guy, that’s your generation’s spokesman,’” said Breitbart, not a fan of grunge music’s suicidal prince. “I was like, ‘This guy seems like a world class [screw-up].’ And I just started to have the awkwardly pedestrian revelation that my parents were right.”
***
On the last day of July, Breitbart was walking along a downtown Philadelphia sidewalk, hungry and a little spacey from lack of sleep. On his own dime, he’d taken a red-eye from Los Angeles to appear at a tea party rally near the Liberty Bell. Twelve days earlier, on his Big Government website, Breitbart had posted an item that made him a household name.

Viva Andrew Breitbart and the Big sites, you've come a long ways baby !
Thank you Andrew !
Everything that Andrew Breitbart has done in the past year, is nothing short of miraculous! The fact that he was once a flaming Hollywood liberal, and now turncoat liberal, is the best thing that has happened to the internet! If anyone knows what goes on behind the scenes in L.A., it would be him!
Thank you, Andrew for ALL the Big sites! You have given the conservative mind a place to go! Oh yeah, and the fact that he hates 'grunge music' as much as I do is a BIG plus !!
They're such pu$$ies. They operated for years without anyone forcing them to be accountable for their bias and inaccurate "reporting". Along comes Andrew Breitbart with a spotlight and now they're wetting their collective pants. AB has done more for this country than anyone (besides the troops) since the BIGs opened up.
I'm grateful for his courage and tenacity and the drinks are on me if we ever cross paths….
Not only did Andrew become enlightened, he made sure we were too. For that I salute you sir !
Thanks for posting this. It's always interesting to hear someone's come-to-reason conversion story.
MSM just can't stand the fact that the 70% or more of the country, the Conservatives, that have been quiet for years as they past off their liberal ideals as news, has found their voices and have been awakened by Andrew B., Glenn B. and others. Their reporting on the 8/28 rally in Washington just highlights the fact that "They don't get it… and probably never will."
I'm just glad to see that President Obama is heading to Camp David for some much needed R & R after a tough couple of days actually pretending to do his job…
Why doesn't Breitbart promote a White dorm? Wouldn't that be a good way to make his point?
Smedley, I pray God shows you the light and mends your dishonorable ways.
Because he's not a slobbering bigot like you….
The point was that the black students were segregating themselves, but I suspect you already know that.
Smedley isn't smart enough. He has to turn everything into racial hate.
Rock-on Andrew! …the left is squirming, and you are one of the reasons why, my friend…great fun!
Let us know what happens with the bigot Sherrod, you were in the right again.
Andrew, yours is an interesting journey to waking up and growing up.
Your sites are required reading for me every day! Thanks for your efforts. We're the beneficiaries.
All good wishes for your continued success ,and our continuing education.
I'm praying for lightning……….
From the article:
"In the rush to judgment that followed, the NAACP and the Obama administration condemned Sherrod, then looked foolish when it turned out that she had been a victim of deceptive editing"
More garbage from the capitol of northern mexico. What else could we expect from the L.A. Times?
That poor poor "victim," ms. sherrod, leader of the $2 billion dollar reparation program known as Pigford.
Keep it up, AB. Give 'em hell.
Thanks for the intense flow of great information Andrew. We do appreciate it.
I like epiphany stories. My big one was in my mid teens with the passage or Roe V Wade. Seemed like a perverted form of birth control to me then, and still does to this day. Another was when I was in the military during the Carter administration, and a third was when I got a tax cut courtesy of Ronald Reagan in 1981. I was far from being wealthy, and knew then that the old media (and dimocrats) were nothing but liars.
BIG BREITBART!!!! Thank You Andrew MARXIST=DEMOCRATS=TERRORIST All the same.
Because he has brains, class, and integrity… things you lack.
………."frequently profane manner that is his trademark."
Thank God for Andrew Breitbart.
I'm glad I'm not the only frequently profane, politically incorrect dinosaur left.
Please buy the NYT or CBS and bring some sense to the MSM. I'm sick of complaining about the liberal media and their liberal ideas!
Let the Conservative message win in the marketplace. There's no call for letting the liberals declare victory due to the "success" of their message commercially.
Of course liberal messages can sometimes be more popular, if they are able to lie with a straight face it is easy to paint a popular message. But unmask the lies and the message must fall apart.
People prefer to self segregate, not only on racial lines but cultural and proffesional also.
That's why we have China Town, or Little Italy, or neighborhoods that have a racial mix different then the area average. Or it can be something as simple as Democrats prefering to hang out with other Democrats, or Elks club members hanging out with their fraternal brothers.
I sent this to John Hall, Democrat, I tried to ask him a question in the real world and he duct into a store and played possum. Because he did that, I'm doing this:)
Congressman John Hall (NY19)
Washington D.C.
June 1, 2010
Dear Sir:
I’m writing in response to your article that appeared in the Bedford Record on Friday May 7, 2010 with respect to the honored sacrifice that our service members have given, and your efforts to help the living with an immortal, and unfeeling bureaucracy known as the VA. At the outset, if in your entire legislative career you only manage to clear the deck for one wounded veteran you can consider it a success. Be that as it may, I would be remiss if I failed to point out your wider failure, and my future plan to vote, and advocate for Mrs. Hayworth as a remedy to it.
I never served my country. My grandfather and my father did. Both sustained injuries as a result of their service. My grandfather sustained many over the course of World War Two, and my father had a pallet of material fall on him from a fork lift. My Grandfather’s final injuries were the result of a flight from Italy to France; after he completed 35 missions and could have gone home. A pilot who couldn’t fly a hot air balloon, a faulty altimeter, and some bad weather were the main factors in a crash the claimed the lives of the entire crew, save one, my grandfather. Long story short, Grandpa, like countless others ended up in the Mitchell Field Hospital – in a full body cast. From the 80’s on I watched my father fight the VA to get the bureaucracy to pay what they promised. My father won this unnecessary fight through tenacity, attention to detail, and dogged perseverance. There is an old piece of advice to never get into a land war with Communist China; well, never get into a paper war with a motivated son with a legitimate gripe and a laser printer, my fathered buried them, in the end the VA had no choice but surrender.
Mr. Hall, who invented, controls, and benefits from this bureaucracy? It isn’t the veterans, the hospital, doctors, or the nurses. It is the federal government, and politicians like you who claim in the individual cases that, but for your help, would still sit in the repository of a lost and growing bureaucracy. To make matters far worse the VA is dependent on a bankrupt government that borrows money from a current military adversary to pay for our veterans care – you can’t make this stuff up if you tried. Thus, like any bureaucracy that is charged with dispensing money from the public treasury it has a built in procedural incentive to not pay claims or benefits. In essence the veteran is in a silent, and deadly race against an immortal bureaucracy whose only goal is to force the veteran to wait in line, the advantage here is to the bureaucracy who suffer no economic pain for forcing the veteran to wait for needed care. Mr. Hall why do you think I and many of my ilk argued, and continue to argue to repeal national health care? We did, and do this, because our personal landscape is littered with examples of how if the government fails in this primary duty why should my fellow citizens believe it can handle the care for hundreds of millions?
Mr. Hall I am not naive, nor are the vast majority of the voting public. The way you and other politicians behave is a direct result of a perversion of our system of organized liberty that sets in motion a series of incentives that lines all of your fellow Congressional members up at the public trough in the shape of a printing press; the goal being to get as much from it as possible for the state or the districts each of you represents. This perversion has been long in the making, and it will take many good Americans willing to say no to benefits that we can no longer afford. But before we do even that we must get our priorities straight, and if someone is to receive any money from the public treasury it should not be civilians before as the USO slogan so aptly puts it, “ . . .Wherever and whenever they go, until every brow is soothed, and every hand is held. Until every song is sung and every battle won. Until every one comes home,” come to think of it, this should not just be the mantra of the USO it should be the mantra of the VA. Then, and only then, should those that have not lifted a finger, to defend the flag and our Constitution receive one red cent from the federal treasury.
Respectfully,
"For Breitbart, Pigford has become the subject of another epiphany.
"The more I look into this, the more sympathetic I am to the original case by the black farmers," Breitbart said. "They got the short end of the stick in a major way…. There is a huge scandal here that is going to upset the status quo in America.""
Funny how so many of you folks are ignoring this.
and this . . . .
To the Editor:
Mr. Geller and Mr. Sorrel; thank you for your responses to my letter demonstrating Representative Halls NY19 wider failure to his constituents, but, I am slightly confused. Are we discussing the same Mr. John Hall? When President Bush was serving as our Commander in Chief, John Hall and his fellow Democrats, sought on numerous occasions to minimize and legislatively obstruct funding for our troops. Now that President Obama is trying to get up to speed in that capacity, Representative Hall is johnny on the spot with what ever our war fighters may need, so long as Mr. Obama keeps his promise of retreat in 2011. In our next exchange please advise if you are defending the John Hall who voted against the war, but for the troops, or the one that voted for the troops, but against the war?
Do the both of you understand the gravity of our fiscal situation on a national as well as a State level? Do you understand that tax receipts are being front loaded now to avoid increases after the “Bush Tax Cuts” expire? Do you understand that a promise from Uncle Sam is worthless unless a real person and/or good can get there in time, at the right quantity, and price, to meet that promise? Do you understand that wars fought without clear objectives end in nightmares? Do you understand that Mr. Obama has stopped production of the F-22, as the F-35 “jack-of-all-trades-master-at-none” is now over budget and not met it’s primary testing goals after billions wasted, not to mention the communist chinese stole the plans. Do you understand that we are using millions in men and material against an enemy that can restore those resources at a fraction of our cost without using its MasterCard? Do you understand what happens when governments do not keep their promises as opposed to private citizens? This one I’ll answer. War. When masses of people are promised goods and services, and those promises are not kept, they begin to go beyond the entitlement mentality, and proceed to the demand mentality. Greece is a great example, but I can quote you the history of France and Germany. Mr. Geller, you did not go to war because of Hitler or Togo, you went to war because economic systems broke down, and one side decided it was easier to steal and kill for what was needed rather than to work for it.
I know I live on a different mental plane then my Liberal Democratic friends, but at some point even the both of you will come to understand that I am mostly right. I appreciate all of your criticism, even the attacks, as a student I never let those who bullied me or those who claimed I would not amount to much bother me, nor will I now. I will do now, what I did then, what I hope all Americans do in the coming months and years, persevere. To do otherwise would betray all those countless Americans who suffered so we could live in a place where the bell of freedom still rings.
Respectfully,
Smedley. Do us all a favor and WATCH the "documentary" An Inconvenient Truth. And then make an unannounced 'VISIT' to the E Channel or any channel with Harvey's fingerprints on it.
What ever happened to Harvey Weinstein's moral compass anyway? I guess he lent it to Jimbo Cameron. That dude just hit an ICEBERG.
Tyrant:
Self-segregation as a preference is fine. Having segregation forced on you is not. Pretending that the former is the same as the latter is dishonest.
. . . and now I'm lifting up my middle finger to every liberal democrat socialist that is destroying my country. Thank you Mr. Brietbart for giving me this opportunity to responsibly exercise my 1st amendment rights.
Frankly, I hope it rains about six inches of gunpowder, before your lightning…………
Not at all.
A big storm is brewing.
It'll be a shocker.
We are human, we all make mistakes , being honest in admitting this it what sets some of us apart. Why is it that when anyone on the left ie. media or politicians erroneously rush to judgements & utter false statements they never have to retract them?
I saw that, what a pile of crap. They have no shame….and neither does Sherrod…..
Non-black dorms are white. Isn't that obvious?
Tell me this isn't still a country of opportunity…
Nope. It won't be a shock to anyone who knows that blacks actually have experienced racism, that it all isn't manufactured whining by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and folks looking for a handout.
I'm thinking Smedley is really that NumbRod JerkWad guy from CARE…..
And liberals astound me when they bristle with self-righteousness as they make claims they couldn't possibly prove to be true…..
Kinda like: "….their insistence that ALL black claims of having experienced racism are spurious, and that only white people experience racism."
Speaking of your boy Jessie: http://www.detnews.com/article/20100903/MIVIEW/10...
Life does imitate art.
me too…..
OMG your parents were right Andrew!! LOL I'm waiting for my daughter to have that moment now that she's done with college.
Haha Thanks for sharing that….made my day a little brighter.
I do that whenever our dear leader is on TV. It obscures his face, but I've been unable to cover his ears….
You mean it's not Smelley? Sure stinks from here!
Yeah!
I was thinking that maybe he is actually Axholerod.
Keep ROCKIN AB! We're behind you 100%
That Sherrod video cost me about 10points but hey, I love the Bigs and AB, anyone can make a mistake.
"That character assassin Brrrrreitbart"… one of Olby's most endearingly meaningless moments – but it makes me laugh every time I hear it.
Thanks Andrew, keep up the great work.

So.
In applying your logic, all those white-separatists living in Sand Point, Idaho, who just wanted to be left alone, is fine in your book? Then why did the Government attack them, and kill a woman and a baby?
It can't be both ways.
Brilliant….
Oh sure, by all means lets turn a blind eye to the manufactured racism thought up and fostered by Sharpton and Jackson. Lets do that so we can never move forward. Your type of thinking will keep this country stuck in the past.
We have to weed out the lies, and fix real problems, not watch as people and corporations are extorted by false racism accusations from people like Sharpton and Jackson.
You have some growing up to do….
I agree that the Randy Weaver case was entrapment. However, Weaver was wrong to refuse to appear in court when summoned to. The law is the law, period. Also, it is amazing that the very same conservatives who got so upset over the Randy Weaver case actually supported the government's tactics against the Black Panthers back in the day. Conservatives like to have it both ways too, my friend. Weaver got compensation for what the ATF did to his family. Fred Hampton's family didn't get squat. Go read up on the circumstances of Fred Hampton's death to see what I am talking about.
Pls stay healthy.
We need you.
Some good news:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/03/michig...
STARVE THE BEAST:
By postponing major purchases until after November 2nd you will help counter any RIGGED statistics the government may put out to show an improvement in the economy prior to the elections. A somewhat radical position but the corruption in Washington is driving me beserk and we have one last chance to stem the tide.
"Methinks that you are going to eat your words."
Methinks, not. Take notice of the words, "the original case by the black farmers." That would be the original 400 claimants in the Pigford v Glickman case. The result of that case estimated a possible 2000 eventual claimants. Was this bad? You bet. Were there republicans and democrats involved in the mismanagement of the USDA loan programs? Most likely.
But beware the investigation. The next phase of the story starts with the 70,000 additional claimants, followed by the obama administration's involvement in restarting the case, the $13 Million dollar payoff to Sherrod, and her subsequent job at the USDA.
Be careful when opening a can of worms. The mess can go everywhere.
I think AssHoleRod is actually HelloLiars…..
Entitlement erases shame, thats why it's called entitlement. Why do you think that she didn't accept the position with the USDA? Better lay low Sherrod because the skeletons are rattling in your closet!
liberals want you to love the government.
conservatives want you to love the country.
Doesn't he support Israel. Let's see if we get this straight:
Jews have Israel
Blacks have dorms
Well, shouldn't Whites have the same right? Or do they have fewer rights?
I suppose you are kidding?
I thought about posting that same advice. But then I remembered that these trolls are just the kind of unstable people that DO things like that.
I decided against it.
Smedley,
I'm going to promte an "Intelligent Dorm".
You're not invited.
I love my Country.
It is my Government that I fear.
I discovered the BIGs just a few weeks ago and I’m hooked almost to the point of, dare I say, addiction. I MUST have my daily fix of educational, informative, and oftentimes thought-provoking articles. I also CANNOT go a single day w/o reading hundreds, if not thousands, of the comments… many of which are from some very intelligent posters (you know who you are). Last, but certainly not least, I would probably DIE if I didn’t get my daily dose of the humor, wit, and sarcasm found in many of those comments. . .
Please help me, is there a cure for this?
Sorry. Better luck next time. Randy Weaver, by his own admission, committed a federal crime in making sawed off shotguns. Weaver, by his own admission, did not commit this crime out of principle, but because he wanted the money in selling it. Randy Weaver, by his own admission, refused to appear in court for the crime that he committed because of his own greed, despite by his own admission receiving several summons to do so over a long period of time. Weaver caused the death of his wife and child with his own illegal behavior. All Weaver had to do was refuse to make those sawed off shotguns and none of that would have happened.
Ask him. He's reading this. pnipni
And what made you call Jesse Jackson "my boy"? Jesse Jackson is not my child. Is he yours? And what does this have to do with the matter at hand?
Takes a lot of restraint not to type words that are burning a hole in your brain.
BILLIONS of dollars for funding student loans are flowing from the government to the For-Profit University scamsters that prey on the uninformed. Community colleges are a far better solution for those who seek to improve themselves.__Most of the For-Profit loans have a high default rate, which further complicates the lives of the recipients and does nothing to help solve the issue of providing Americans with useful skills,__Ironically, one of the largest For-Profit scamsters is Kaplan University, which is owned by the Washington Post and without the 2.6 billion the Post received last year, it would be bankrupt. __Subsidizing Community Colleges would yield a better return on investment than support the left-wing Post.
Andrew Breitbart is a pragmatist, and an independent thinker, just like most people on this blog.(except socialist trolls) If you mentally take-in data, and it doesn't make sense, and/or is un-just, then you form your values in the opposite direction.
I remember the day that I asked myself, what am I? a Repub or a Dem. I went through the major categories, and figured out that I'm basically a Republican because of believing in small Govt. Andrew Breitbart is a good example of healthy thinking; which I am proud to say that I espouse to also. Thank God we have this powerful 1st. Amendment outlet!
Your letters are so well composed, I would wager that some dolts in Congress could use your services. Although most of them can't read, so it would be a moot point.
That wasn't what I was talking about and you know it. I wasn't talking about the manufactured racism by Sharpton and Jackson. I was talking about actual racism. Do you acknowledge that legitimate accusations of racism exists? Or do you believe that racism went away? And if racism against blacks went away, then did racism against whites go away too? Should all whites who claim to have experienced racist treatment by blacks or by government/corporate affirmative action programs simply remain silent so that we can "move forward"? Somehow, I don't believe that is what you were referring to.
Hank Scorpio, if a black person perceives himself to have experienced actual racism and real harm due to that racism, what should he do? Grin and bear it and move on for the greater good of society? Fine. But are you willing to do the same yourself? Are you one of those "conservatives" who always asks the other guy to do something that you yourself would never do if the roles were reversed?
Like I said in an earlier comment … the only reason why black civil rights leaders are so influential is because they have no competition. NONE. If you are a black person who is subjected to racist taunts at work and/or you are getting paid less than everybody else despite doing the same job and/or the white workers that you train keep getting promoted over you year after year, what conservative organization do you go to? What conservative activist out there speaks for people like you?
I will give you the answer, Hank … THEY DON'T EXIST. Conservatives are ABSENT when blacks experience housing discrimination. Conservatives are ABSENT when blacks experience employment discrimination. Conservatives are ABSENT in racial profiling/police brutality cases. Remember the Abner Louima case, when 4 white cops held a black man down and violated him with a broom stick? Boy, it would have been great if there had been some conservative foundation or activist that he could have gone to in his lawsuit against the NYPD (who right up until one of the assailants finally confessed claimed that Louima's injuries were the result of homosexual sex). But you know what, Hank? They don't exist. Instead, the New York Post actually took the cops' side. Andrea Peyser actually bought their "Louima's intestines were ripped during homosexual sex" defense, and another Post columnist to this day claims that the guy who confessed was the only guilty party and that the other three were innocent (completely ignoring the fact that AT LEAST TWO GUYS HAD TO HOLD LOUIMA DOWN WHILE THE OTHER ONE WIELDED THE STICK). So for Louima, it was either Jesse/Al/NAACP or nobody, and that isn't Louima's fault. It wasn't Louima's fault that "we can never move forward" OK? And by the way … what happened to Louima wasn't "manufactured".
The fact that so many conservatives are convinced that ALL claims of having experienced racism by blacks are spurious is evidence of the low regard that conservatives have for blacks. All blacks are either stupid or lazy according to conservatives. Excuse me, not all blacks, just the 95% that vote Democrat.
Maaaan, you was on a roll there buddy,…………
I was looking for the knock out.
Only the White liberal mainstream media is ignoring this, the original farmers got screwed, the USDA didn't just discriminate they discriminated with relish, they bragged about not giving blacks loans. The USDA was protecting big agribusiness and they still are today, the USDA is likely the biggest corporate welfare program of them all, the Sherrod video was her trying to spread the USDA wealth to the NAACP, and she said they have Obama to thank for it. I hope that is the angle, USDA corporate welfare for the big argbusinesses–like ADM–a communist run organization for many many years now.
Yes it does. Myself being one that does use words that cut to the chase, as I prefer to describe it.
I see no harm in using powerful words when justified. Profanity has its place as do rainbows and lollypops.
ROTF Sweet.
SmegmaB
Not at all. Only in a white dorm with you find diversity.
Go figure. So who really are the racists?
Thanks for making me feel old, AB. Gotta admit, though, that Cobaine thing worked out for me. I'm done feeling sorry for self-destructive people. Anyone who, at this point in the save-you-from-yourself nanny state, can't figure out why they shouldn't engage in self-destructive behavior like his doesn't deserve sympathy.
I pray God delivers you from your hate and bigotry.
May God turn you from asshole to just another ass. it would be an improvement.
See the look on Andrews face above? Thats the don't phuck with me look. I think the slimy progressives know what they are dealing with as far as these BIG sites. It takes a lot of fortitude and sacrifice of personal time to have these sites running as smoothly as they do, so THANK YOU Andrew for your determiniation and beliefs.
Where else could we read all these great and informative articles and occasionally rant and rave? I think these sites have been responsible for the tides to turn against this communist regime, just as the Tea Parties, Beck, Limbaugh etc etc have.
Andrew, your name along with that of Glenn Beck and a few other notables will long be remembered by me and millions of other freedom loving Americans for the contributions and sacrifices you made while exposing that which needed to be exposed, explaining that which needed to be explained and saying that which needed to be said in an effort to restore common sense, truth, justice and most importantly, our Republic. I sincerely thank you for your ongoing efforts. I'm glad you're on our side!
"Though I love my country, I do not love my countrymen." -Lord Byron
But then they end up on TV -and the internet- as "news".
If they end up like that Goron from a day or two ago, I'm good. Quit your job?
I wonder who he's meeting there? hmmmm. The Rockefellers, Soros, Che?
God knows he's probably wetting his bed by now.
Absolutely!!! Glenn Beck will go down in history as being the ONE person that could generate a half a million people to converge on Washington, in the most peaceful celebration I have ever seen! Andrew gets to sit right next to him for all the BIG sites, that give people like US a place to learn the truth!!
"I see no harm in using powerful words when justified. Profanity has its place as do rainbows and lollypops."
Sigh, Gary K I was kinda hoping I didn't have to "turn the other cheek" on this one. I mean that comment is beyond pathetic. These guys are so running on empty.
Geeze! Why isn't that tampering with an election? I'd like to see some arrest warrants in this one.
It would indeed be a good way to make his point. Unfortunately, liberals wouldn't get his point. Or they'd pretend to not get it, and they'd call him a White supremacist and a segregationist. So the point he was trying to make would be totally lost on the people who needed to understand his point the most.
"If they end up like that Goron from a day or two ago, I'm good." -Me too…
"Quit your job?" -Nah, time off for good behavior. One more week and then back to the grind…
You are deviously clever. I like it.
Breitbart & Co. are definitely appreciated by good and reasonable people of many walks of life, including yours truly.
But as a SEEMINGLY minor sidebar I've not seen much of author Publius' above-referenced adjective "profane" evidenced anywhere as being the "frequent manner" of Breitbart's work. Rather, it is quite reasonable to suggest that the nature of AB's convictions and efforts are converse to that. (I DO, however, see the profane and profanity all too frequently over at sites like The Huffington Post).
Perhaps, Publius meant to say "vulgar," or, untethered, or plebeian. But, of course, other than being an admirable and resilient champion of the causes which everyday, good, "common," U.S. citizens hold dear, like long standing American traditions, constitutionality, conservatism, the second amendment, and reasonable liberty, AB could hardly be labeled with those adjectives either.
Our general movement to preserve America and even to save The West is anything BUT profane.
And before Cowboy Logic can think I'm trying to show off or offend, may I say that only last month I happened to learn what the display of an upside down American flag actually meant (e.g. your current profile pic). (Well done on your part; most ignorant on mine).
I'm only bugging you and Publius for a minute because language is such a central weapon to our side's strength in this era of the ongoing American Revolution. Each and every improved grip broadens our reach all the more.
Still friends, and friends of Andrew Breitbart,
Atticus
Still missing the point, eh, Smedley?
