Houston Election Headquarters Warehouse Destroyed by Fire, Just Days After Fraud Allegations

A few days ago we blogged how the Houston voter registrar had a press conference announcing widespread voter fraud and thousands of illegal and phony voter registrations submitted by an ACORN-like organization called “Houston Votes.” Those stories are here and here.
Harris County Tax Assessor Collector [and voter registrar] Leo Vasquez accused the group of submitting thousands of bogus voter registration applications in recent months in what he said appears to be a campaign to taint the voter rolls.
Well this morning Mr. Vasquez’s warehouse containing all of the voting machines, supplies and equipment burned to the ground.
A note of caution: obviously law enforcement officials in Harris County will get to the bottom of this. We are posting this because, for now, Harris County is going to have a mess of an election in November because all of their equipment and supplies have been destroyed.

They say 10,000 voting machines were destroyed. I hope their fire insurance premiums were paid up. You know damn well the taxpayer will be on the hook to replace these machines by November. And I'm quite certain all the replacement machines will have preloaded voter results. Funny how that works.

As Arizona tries to make illegal immigrants a little more uncomfortable, residents in Portland, Maine are trying to make immigrants more comfortable.
“Immigrants are an important part of our community,” says Will Everitt as he walks down Congress Street, just a block from City Hall. “They contribute a lot.”
Everitt is from the Maine League of Young Voters, a group that's sponsoring a ballot initiative to give non-citizen immigrants the right to vote in Portland City elections. . “They're sending their kids to our schools,” he says. “And they should be able to have a right to vote for say the school committee.”
Portland is a city of 65,000 and currently has about 10,000 non-citizen immigrants, mostly from African nations like Somalia !!
Anti-immigration activists contend it will make it less so. . “It devalues democracy,” says Bob Dane. “And in a way, it's watering down the very thing immigrants want the most, and that is the gift of American citizenship. "
Dane is from the Federation for Immigration Reform, which wants to limit, not expand immigrant rights.
“Handing out instantaneous voting rights,” says Dane, “to people who still have not taken the requisite citizenship exam, is really just demeaning citizenship and it's setting us back.”
Everitt is also proud Portland may buck the anti-immigration trend this year, “I think it's a chance for Maine to be a counter-point to what's going on in Arizona.”
How convenient to have all evidence destroyed.

It's a big deal here in Houston. The news channels are playing it down because the media is no more conservative here than The New York Times. Most of the stations today were carrying variations of the "uptick" in the economy due to GDP coming in at an annual rate of 1.6% instead of 1.4% and this is a sign of progress. Harris County is an absolute liberal cesspool and the corruption would make Obama blush, yet nobody wants to really rock the boat. There is a stable tax base and the liberals have it set up to give them a lock by virtue of Houston being a sanctuary city, but it is so dangerous I never go downtown. I haven't been to the theater or the museums in eons because it's too expensive and too dangerous.
The election cycle is going to be a real problem. Luckily, we have early voting so that liberals can vote early and often and they do just that. We always end up with those Democratic precincts that have more votes for Democrats than they have registered voters but it's all good…

My oh my, how convenient that registrations, voting machines, and whatever else met a fiery demise in Harris county. Not a problem. Use a paper ballot and demand voter identification, proof of citizenship, and a valid Texas drivers license at the Nov polls. Wait a minute. Was it both dim, repub, and independent voter registration lost or just the dims? Inquiring minds need to know.

I've had some success in finding illegal aliens. We have a list of 12 people in Allegheny county who submitted documents showing themselves to be aliens to the jury system. At least one such man is still on the rolls.
Some may have voted.

The other day, I was in the grocery store at the customer service window. I noticed a little round thing that looked like a pill holder attached to the counter. I asked the guy behind the counter what it was, and he said it was for fingerprinting. He said that, in order to cash a paycheck there, the store required a Driver's License, signature, and fingerprint.
I turned around and told the other TR that to cash a simple payroll check there, you need all that ID. But to vote for the future of The United States Of America, you don't need much of anything. You don't even have to be a citizen. You can vote 100's of times. You can be a part of the historical dismantling of this country, and you can sell it all to the highest bidder.
After Obama's and Franken's acrimonious elections, with charges of voter fraud and corruption rampant,
that it was totally ridiculous for our country's voting process not to be more secure. One reason the Liberals have been so full of bile and venom is because they thought Bush had stolen an election.
People, it is way past time to INSIST that the voting process in this country be updated. There needs to be a database with fingerprint or retinal scans. Could that process be corrupted? Certainly, but not to the extent of the corruption now – where boxes of ballots are "discovered" after the fact.
In an important state election a few years ago, it wasn't until about 3/4's of the re-counting was done in a close election, until someone "figured out" that a ballot re-counter was the sister-in-law of one of the candidates.
In addition to voting security, think how many more crimes could be solved if law enforcement could check evidence against the database.
For anyone who sees the database as a dangerous, insidious thing, I challenge you to cash at paycheck at my grocery store.

In Florida we have a biometric Driver's License that has to be swiped before you are given a ballot. But the Dems have pushed for more absentee voters as a way to circumvent the system. Other states don't even require ID. The latest BS on this matter is that it looks like 1000s of our troops won't have their votes counted because the Dems are ensuring that they don't get the ballots in time to meet the 45 day requirement.
My friends please remember, the stronger and louder OUR voices become. The more voilent those who would silence you will become. They beleive they have nothing to loose and everything to gain. I've read many posts on different sites where an ID is not required for voting. Here in my suburban Ohio town, VOTERS ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE PRIOR TO VOTING. Why is this not required of EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN VOTER? By the way, there are numerous immigrants in my town and I pray they are all LEGAL!!

I vote in AZ and I had to show my ID and be found on the registered voter list before I could get a ballot. I don't see why this is not standard procedure everywhere
Ok some minor corrections:
The warehouse only housed the election machines and the forms, the registrations and all of that are stored downtown at the Harris county courthouse.
The warehouse is not under Leo Vasquesz's dominion, that is actually the County Clerk's office that maintains and administers the election, the tax assessor-collector only handles voter registrations.They are separate functions.
Harris county is actually quite red, there is however a blue zone near downtown that unfortunately elects Sheila Jackson Lee every year. but this year that might change.
for early voting which starts on Oct. 2, the county plans on borrowing machines from other counties to accomplish the task. but I'm afraid that election day is going to be hell.

Federal authorities have issued a new policy aimed at stopping deportation proceedings for some illegal immigrants, according to a memo issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The memo, which ICE released on Aug. 20, could affect up to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who are married or related to a U.S. citizen or a legal resident who has filed a petition on their behalf. Illegal immigrants with criminal convictions will not qualify under the plan. ICE Assistant Secretary John Morton wrote the memo to Peter Vincent, principal legal adviser and head of the agency's removal operations.
The memo directs ICE attorneys to check cases of detained illegal immigrants for any "serious" or "adverse" factors weighing against dismissal, including criminal convictions, fraud, national security and public safety considerations.
"If no investigations … or serious adverse factors exist, the offices of chief counsel should promptly move to dismiss proceedings," the memo reads. "Once the Field Office Director is notified, the FOD must release the alien."
The change in policy could affect thousands of the estimated 17,000 pending removal cases. According to ICE data, nearly 40,000 immigrants obtained U.S residency status due to sponsorship of relatives who were legal residents in fiscal year 2009. By comparison, more than 393,000 illegal immigrants were deported during that same span.
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, likened the change to a "free pass" for illegal immigrants, a characterization federal authorities denied.
“Actions like this demoralize ICE agents who are trying to do their job and enforce the law,” Grassley told The New York Times. “Unfortunately, it appears this is more evidence that the Obama administration would rather circumvent Congress and give a free pass to illegal immigrants who have already broken our law.”
