Baseball Star Albert Pujols to Attend Beck Rally
by PubliusThis week, 30-year-old Albert Pujols became just the 47th player in Major League Baseball history to hit 400 career home runs–he’s the third-youngest player ever to reach the milestone. We just got word how he plans to celebrate. From the Associated Press:
Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and slugger Albert Pujols plan to attend a rally hosted by conservative pundit Glenn Beck on Saturday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The newspaper posted a story on its website Friday that says the manager will introduce Pujols at the gathering by the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
The Cardinals are in Washington to play the Nationals.
La Russa and Pujols met with Beck in the Cardinals clubhouse two months ago.

Fantastic news.
wow, great…..guild wars 2 gold
Go Glenn Beck and the Tea Party Movement.
God Bless. If ever America needed yuh, it's now!
Did you know that there are over 80 members of Congress who are SELF- PROCLAIMED Socialists, Communists or Socialist Sympathizers?
Got the list from a previous post. Looking to keep a very close eye on those names too.
Now liberals will go ape ****. HArd working latino who is a Tea PArty supporter.
Hey douche baggers. Why don't you get in Mr. Pujols face and call him a Tea Bagger. We know you're really brave typing away in the dark of your parent's basements. It's no different. Please do it!
Let er rip tater chip! Any that can attend please do and i say thank you! Glen Beck ain't playin… He is for real.
Over the course of the last year here, there have been various conversations on these threads pertaining to Glen Beck. He has finally sold me.
I had the chance to see his show with Alveda King yesterday, and again his show tonight.
I believe he is sincere. That goes a long way in my book. Where this country currently is, with its ethical decline, it is obvious to all concerned that we have lost our moral compass. There is nothing wrong with restoring Honor to America, particularly if it is interspersed with a little Faith, Hope and Charity.
For any doubters, all that is necessary to seal the deal, would have been to catch Chris Matthews closing comments tonight on Hard-Ball. The vitriolic attitude of the Lunatic Fringe of the Left, is all the more reason that I support Glen beck in his endeavor.
As an American this makes me happy. As a Cubs fan? Not so much.
Yea I'm all in too… He is for real CL. Takes a while to bring in the hard asses like us eh… ?
But what about the "narrative"!?!?!?! I mean ain't that dude a minority? How can Beck's rally attract a Dominican? It just don't make no sense? </sarc>
Outstanding. I knew Tony LaRussa was a Patriot, three cheers for "Big" Albert Pujols.
They are going to say his name is European Spanish and that he is really just another racist White Person with an expensive fake tan. Wait 'n see.
Doesn't suprise me, Latin Americans are more conservative than many people realize. My bet is there will be a near reflection of America's demographic at this rally.
I watched a 30 min. video of Glenn yesterday casually meeting with people at the Kennedy Center. He stayed there right until his security detail and producers almost literally tore him away from the people to meet his broadcast schedule. They had to tell him he had to go about 4 times! He was humble, friendly, and thanked every single person for coming. He must have greeted over 300 people individually, one on one. His wife joined him. He probably posed for pictures with most of them. One man even asked Glenn if he could pray with him, and Glenn graciously complied. He's the real deal! If we manage to rescue the Republic from the progressive tyrants, he may be the one most responsible for that rescue.
Tonight, I was planning to watch tonight's Kennedy Center event via his website, but there were so many of us watching that we crashed the server. Maybe they'll post a video tomorrow. I sure hope so!
By the way, tonight, Bloomberg TV even showed condescension by labeling Glenn Beck's attendees as being about "babies, guns, and Jesus". I was outraged that they would do that! I had thought — until today — that Bloomberg was generally pretty fair and middle-of-the road. That bubble is now popped. I'll be watching Bloomberg a whole lot less from this day forward!
I haven't had a favorite ball player in a very, very long time. I guess it's time to have one again.
Thank you Mr. Pujols.
Welcome to the club! Hope you have thick skin…you're gonna need it as a Beck supporter…but we shall overcome!
as a cubs fan, i try not to like the cardinals, but for the beck rally, they are just patriotic people showing up for support, but when they play the cubs, sorry i have to hate them again. i know the cubs are way out of it, and the cards still have a shot, but i gots to support the cubs, hopefully in the next century we can finally win a world series.
Hope you have thick skin my blogging friend… Beck is a Rookie in our world, Trust must be earned, Get it? It took the man this long to catch my attention, saw the show a few times… listened to the radio with interest more… Its tentative… but the man has my support. Its tricky in the political world, You can never count those chickens before they hatch.
and make sure you can run fast, and he does not have a bat in his hand, i predict a 500 foot shot for your little progressive head.
Cowboy, it's never to late…I think he is sincere too, and I think he's doing a lot
to try help restore American values and the Constitution…..
This headline should tell you ha screwed up this country has become under PROGRESSIVES / ACLU
"Georgia Man Wins Right to Keep Flying American Flag at Home"
Kepp going Glenn and KEPP GOING STRONG AMERICA !!!
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE !!!!! I have a dream too Martin !!!!
I will give Albert and Tony a two thumbs up on attending the rally. HOWEVER, I have to keep rooting my Cincinnati Reds on to a division title.
God Bless Albert Pujols and Tony LaRussa ~ great Americans!
Good…great…support Beck because he loves America. Support Beck because he tells history in a way that most people have never heard it. Support Beck in any way you can.
The liberals hate him because he tells the truth.
You just don't understand. That's all. Beck is about what is right and what can be defined as a repressive government. You just don't get it. But many people of all races do. Read some books, listen some more to Beck. and know that he is telling you the truth.
"…Bloomberg TV even showed condescension by labeling Glenn Beck's attendees as being about "babies, guns, and Jesus". (comment above)
………hmm, "babies, guns and Jesus"……..Life, Liberty and Love…………yup, works for me…………
I have always supported Glenn Beck. I always thought he was sincere, albeit a bit too emotional for my taste but sincere. I told him, he was my White Knight. We need someone like him because there is no onle else that has put our history into perspective like Glenn did. I also read how much money he made and you know what? I don't care. He put his life on the line for this country.
The MSM and all those hysterical progressives also know this, thats why they are attacking him. Chirs Mathews has a place HELL reserved for him ( in the lunatic section). Lucifer will be soooooooo busy, he won't know how to handle all these idiots.
That is what the libs always do, they attack people, call them stupid and ignorant, if that doesn't work then they move to racist. I think the Republicans are scared too, tonight on O'Reily Lara Ingram interviewed a Bush speech writer and he attacked libertarians and Sharon Engal as being dangerous to the Republican party, he used the same type of speech as the libs do.
Darkness cannot push light, darkness has no power over light and Bloomburg has no power over truth…isn't that what the good Reverend said tonight.
I saw Loonberg on John Stewart and he said people against the Mosque really don't care it is just politics, after November they won't care.
They are unoriginal to boot. "Babies, guns, Jesus — hot damn!" Those were Rush Limbaugh's words, verbatim, when McCain announce Sarah Palin as his running mate. Of course, Limbaugh was paying a sincere compliment at the time and could barely contain his joy. Leave it to Bloomberg to turn those words into dismissive mockery.
Cowboy,
if you haven't seen this episode on Black Founders, here it is the complete episode, really worth watching…… tell Ol'Broad sorebird sent ya. http://olbroad.com/2010/05/29/glenn-beck-052810-f...
Ditto.
This is a good sign.Hey Glenn, your return to wanting America to wake up is working.Albert, your a hero.Keep safe and, listen to the message America.Eventually,Bloomie will get the message.
No wonder Albert is my favorite baseball player and athlete! Outstanding and all of the Beck haters are going to be in for a big surprise when this event is over with. They'll still find something to lie about thought because the truth means absolutely nothing to lefty's. Probably because they believe in God about as much as they do the First and Second Amendments..in other words, they don't.
Watch Rally-goers. For their pacifist crap, libs are a violent bunch. Prepare to defend yourselves tomorrow.
God bless and protect Glen Beck tomorrow. May the program be a great success.
What a stand-up guy!
tracecreek, ArbutusJoe was being sarcastic…that's what sarc means. It's cool, there's so many stupid trolls that try and flame everyone with their infantile nonsense. Arb is one of the good guys.
I watched also. He seemed all rino to me, and he now works for the Wapo.
The reason that the left despises her is due to the simple fact she is real – what you see is what you get. They can't stand it.
Card carrying sociaIists! Members of the USA sociaIists party, the other democrat members of congress would be, but they forgot to pay their membership dues.
There was also 70+ members of the journolist that were members. If they'll admit to being sociaIsts, then they're marxists.
Most folks did not get real American history in school.
Knock it out of the park for Glenn Beck. Wish I could be there. Gonna go to the 9/12.
.
I'm so grateful to Beck for all he has done and continues to do to wake WE THE PEOPLE up! GOD BLESS HIM and ALL THE GREAT AMERICAN PATRIOTS attending this "historical event". Wish I could be there to share the experience with all of you!!
NO!!! Can't be!! /SARC
CB what took you so long? I have been a Beck fan since 9/11.
His 8/27 show at the Kennedy center tonight was inspiring !
Ahh Tingles, sweet wasn't he?
If there are trouble makers, surround them, link arms and start praying. They will hate that.
Don't get me wrong.
I have always been a fan of his.
I respect his efforts, and admire him.
I admire him probably more for his shortcomings, and honesty in admitting them, than I do for his successes. He has always appeared genuine to me.
I got turned off a few months back.
I noticed a change in him. Perhaps stress, or working too hard. It was about the time he went overboard with the theatrics, and the pipe. That is just semantics though. Underneath it all, I still believe he is sincere.
He drives the Left nutz, in particular Keith Olberman, and now Chris Matthews. He's going to throw both of them into cardiac arrest. it can't happen none too soon as far as I'm concerned.
Welcome aboard Cowboy!
Yes.
I knew that.
Do some research on the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
It is not only eye opening, it is jaw dropping.
I posted that material here about three weeks ago.
Babies, guns and Jesus?
I'll take that any old day, as compared to abortion, gun control and Allah!
Copper, that "place in hell" thing gets me nervous; not for Matthews, Lord knows, I have no interest in him, but it brings back something my grandmother admonished me with, during my "holy roller" stage as a kid, "tsk tsking" about how "the devil was working on (an adult)" if he or she let loose a mild swear-word after dropping a hammer on (his) foot or something: "It seems to me, little Merry, that Satan needn't bother with evil men, for he already owns them, body and soul. The righteous man, that's his challenge. And his feast." (Bess Sigmon, 1876 – 1968).
Prayer?
Egads!
That will drive them wild.
Prayer, to Progressives, is like garlic to Dracula.
Prayer, is the light, that will drive away their darkness………….
"…abortion, gun control and Allah!"
……also known as Death, Slavery and Death & Slavery……..
Sorebird, that episode was great, and David Barton's "American History in Black and White" is also worth reading. I have an excellent collection of history books, most on aspects of American History (at least 500 volumes), and that little Barton book (it's quite brief) fills in blanks that I never realized were "empty spaces."
Gosh CL Your thoughts, pretty much my exact sentiment too.
I have swerved toward and away from Beck since before he went to Fox.
I think that change you mention happened because he realized and finally accepted as fact his
life could be taken by various elements of society if he waded further into the Regime cesspool.
He's always claimed to be a clown…….he's either a fool or the smartest damn coyote in the pack.
I tend to vote for the latter, although I believe he operates off of pure instinct. Not necessarily a
bad thing.
.
Civil Rights leader Dr. Glenn Beck will talk about his struggles overcoming racism as a white man in America, LOL!
I am especially impressed with David Barton. I have seen him on Beck several times in the past few months. The man is genuine, and a wealth of knowledge. Barton was on Beck today, along with three other Men of God. i was most impressed and the caliber of those individuals, especially the Black Pastor.
I hope that the great Civil Rights Icon Glenn Beck will read his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail!" LOL!!
Maybe Sarah Palin can talk about how she refused to sit at the back of the bus in the well-known "Wasilla Bus Boycott!"
Here are a few remarks from the great speech that Glenn Beck will give tomorrow. He has a very original name for it. It is his "I Have a Dream" speech, LOL!!
"But one hundred years later, the Caucasian still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Caucasian is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Caucasian lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Caucasian is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition."
Like you CL, I have wanted to keep Beck at arms length because I think it would be devestating for him to falter, yet I am intrigued enough to be a very loyal fan of his show. However after more than year, nobody has anything on him that he hasn't admitted or that wasn't twisted and out of context to smear him. The real test will be if he ever does get put in a position that what he does is not generating millions of dollars. Will he stick to beliefs and principals? I, for one, believe he will because he has been at the bottom and discovered that having core values based on honesty and truth are the only way to pick yourself up from the bottom. Not many have been as successful at it as he has, but then again, how many have been as dedicated to their principals as Beck seems to be?
You are one sick little troll….
Future generations of school children will learn about the great icons of the Civil Rights Movement: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, John Lewis, and the most important ones of all, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, LOL!!!
When little black boys and little black girls look up to those that paved the way for them, they will remember the struggles of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin! What a freaking joke, LOL!!
Who knew that Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin were the fulfillment of Dr. King's Dream?
One baseball player out of hundreds. Those are great numbers, lol!
What would Pujols know about the Civil Rights struggle in America and how disrespectful it is for Glenn Beck to try to hijack the legacy of Dr. King!
I've always been a fan of Pujols but cautious to allow myself to place him on a pedestal too high because sports stars often disappoint. This takes Mr. Pujols to another level in my book.
Wasn't it though? It was wonderful. I watched on the Insider Extreme as I was unable to make it to D.C. for the Rally. And I'm an agnostic and there were times I was in tears. Beautiful, inspiring, wonderful.
And I'm sure the liberal media is just apoplectic! Good!
I've only listened to Beck for a relatively short time as he was on one of my local stations, then taken off. I started watching the show more recently as well and pretty much caught all the Founding Fathers Fridays. Great stuff.
And like Glenn . . . I HATE Woodrow Wilson!
LOL!!! No way in hell! There will not be lots of African Americans attending this hijacking of Dr. King's legacy disgrace!
Well,
you and I, along with some others here have discussed Beck over the last few months. You know me pretty well. I'm not much of a "joiner" of any cause. I have supported Andrew Breitbart one hundred percent though in the past year, from Day One.
As far as Beck is concerned, where you state: "He's always claimed to be a clown…….he's either a fool or the smartest damn coyote in the pack. I tend to vote for the latter, although I believe he operates off of pure instinct. Not necessarily a bad thing."
There is one scenario you have left out of the equation.
Every once in a while, someone comes along, who indeed has been touched by the hand of God. It changes not only minds, but hearts. I firmly believe this to be the case with Beck.
If so, I'm all for it.
Glenn Beck's rally is about trying to hijack the legacy of Dr. King. It is a national and historical disgrace!
Cowboy, welcome aboard the Beck Express. He can be over the top sometimes and I usually shy away from things that appear to be conspiracy theories. But really, when you watch him long enough and listen to him long enough, the dots get connected. Plus he encourages you – no almost demands that you do your own research and reading.
And his love of American History has renewed my love of it. Including the religious parts, and I'm an agnostic. I have found a new respect for religion since I became a conservative, and even more so after watching the history shows that Beck as given us.
Ignore him.
"Support Beck because he tells history in a way that most people have never heard it."
No shit, that's because it didn't happen the way he claims it did. It was conservatives that fought the AGAINST the Civil Rights Act!
OMG, you big baby. He's hijacked nothing. And frankly Beck knows more and understands more about Civil Rights and MLK then Sharpton and his race baiting pals.
MLK, I believe, will be with Beck and Alvida King in spirit tomorrow.
Content of Character, TarHeels. Not color of skin.
Learn it, know it, live it.
It is Al Sharpton and his ilk that are hijacking it and perverting the message that MLK brought to us that day in August.
You know nothing. Like typical Lefties you hijack, hide and destroy history to fit your agenda. Because when people know the truth about the Left, they reject it.
It will be a disgrace to the legacy of Dr. King! A racist like Beck who LIED and called the first African American President a racist is going to dishonor the memory of Dr. King on the anniversary of his great speech!
Oh no! Sorry you missed it. I hope they do repost for you. I watched the whole thing. It was moving, inspiring, wonderful. And I'm an agnostic!
Once again, for your edification:
Really? LBJ was a conservative? Funny, I thought he was a Democrat. He took the teeth out of the original Civil Rights Act that Eisenhower put together – a conservative and Republican.
Another example of how the Left hijacks history.
Your time is coming. Your lies are being exposed.
Remember in November.
You are a pig.
GFY.
Wrong! Here is what Dr. King's namesake had to say about this dishonorable travesty:
"My father championed free speech. He would be the first to say that those participating in Beck's rally have the right to express their views. But his dream rejected hateful rhetoric and all forms of bigotry or discrimination, whether directed at race, faith, nationality, sexual orientation or political beliefs."
Dr King's views were in direct opposition to the hateful comments of a charlatan who would lie and call the first African-American President a racist!
You are a pig. The rally is about RESTORING HONOR. It will be religious in nature. And while Civil Rights might come up, it will not in any way HIJACK MLK, like you and your ilk are doing, including that race baiting POS Al Sharpton.
Don't you have a rock to crawl under, you worthless POS.
Sorry I couldn't. I gave him what for.
Glenn Beck is a disgusting pathetic charlatan who is trying to hijack the Civil Rights Movement and is dishonoring the legacy of Dr. King! Dr. King would not have called the first African-American President a racist like that POS Glenn Beck did!
Wrong! LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act into law. The same bill that Republican Barry Goldwater opposed!
GO CARDS!! Win the World Series.
Dr King's son does NOT agree that MLK will be there in spirit. What would a great icon like Dr. Martin Luther King see in a demagogue like Beck?
You would have gulped down Jim Jones' kool-aid too, lol!
I'm not certain if Bloomberg TV is connected to Bloomberg Business News, but I ran into an "entrepreneur's success story" in their online venue; I think they were snookered:
This "entrepreneur" is an athiest who wants to make a profit (I'm paraphrasing) off of "Christian idiocy," so he came up with a business idea for contracting 'devout Christians' who expected to be "raptured" and were worried about pets "left behind." Mr. Entrepreneur claims to have signed up over 100 Christians so far, each paying him $100 for a 10-year contract (additional pets a bit extra) and, if the Rapture is more than 10 years off, an annual fee of $10 thereafter. In return, he will have atheists (who will be "left behind") collect and care for the pets until nature has taken its course.
The editorial staffer got her nose out of joint when I suggested they'd been taken in, that I doubted anyone would subscribe to the service (those who do or may anticipate an imminent Rapture are also undoubtedly aware of what will be going on 'down here' during the immediate aftermath).
I understand.
But if you totally ignore them, they have nobody to exchange dialogue with. They get tired to posting to themselves, and go away.
I realize you're a fan of Guild Wars, I know many people who play it (although I've just witnessed them). That said I believe adding an out-of-context advertising link to the game in every post you've made is a little inappropriate.
If you're just a fan and have permission to do so then I apologize, but if you don't have permission from the moderators you might want to explain your case to them, or just only add the guild wars links when in context with your reply.
Thank you
I'm all for it too CL
The "hand of God" aspect is definitely a possibility and appears to be the case at this
time, I agree. I have been disappointed by these public figures so often I have a hard
time giving them the benefit of the doubt. I'm guilty of always waiting just a little longer
to see if they can pass the next test. A shortcoming I recognize in myself.
.
I can't wait to use my gold to pay tuition at Beck University where I can learn about the Civil Rights Movement that was led by Glenn Beck! His "I Have a Scheme" speech was wonderful.
Sometimes, it is the simple things in life, that give us the perspective we need,
Remember the old Ray Stevens song "Would Jesus Wear a Rolex?"
That is my yardstick when looking at these folks in the public light.
When I compare Glen beck to folks like James Baker, or Jimmy Swaggart, or Robert Tilton, Beck stands head and shoulders above them. Thus far.
I just hope he doesn't "go native" and stumble………
What time is the "Glenn Beck Has a Dream" rally? What time will he dishonor and try to hijack the legacy of Dr. King? How many racist signs of our nation's first African-American President will be seen? Will they have the sign that shows him as an African witch doctor like they did at the other teabagger rallies?
And what is the little seen news anchor on MSNBC saying about Pujols attending Beck's rally on his twitter feed? stuff like "Hey Albert Pujols! Here's hoping when you go to Beckapocalypse nobody attempts an AZ SB1070 Papers-Please citizen's arrest on you." and "Of course if Pujols WAS Papers-Please'd at Beckoning, LaRussa's with him, is a lawyer. Or would he defend the arrester?"
And how is it that bath-tub-boy has little respect for minorities that don't worship at the alter of liberalism?
Here is some of Olby's latino greatest hits. Courtesy of Johnny Dollar. http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2007/03/co... http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2008/02/la... http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2010/04/ol... http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2006/10/ol...
Got other numbers? (rhetorical, you never bring numbers or facts to debates)
Yeah, and by just one, you mean the best one over the last 5 years. Yeah, just one. He's no Eric Montross, granted.
You look dumber by the post, something I thought not possible.
By the way, anyone notice that liberal posts are always short, trite, and include lol, as if it means something. It's a universal internet sign of the intellectually immature, fact devoid, and logically defeated posters. It's a big sign that says, "I can't come up with a credible arguement so I'll lol you!"
Brilliant. How's Coach K tastin?
"When government stayed out of people's lives women and blacks couldn't vote," Sharpton argued. "When government stayed out of people's lives we were in the back of the bus. We need government to do what Dr. King came and asked government to do in '63 and we need government to do that now."
Beck would have been against the Civil Rights Act in the 1960 just like other conservatives like Barry Goldwater!
Somehow, this does NOT surprise me one bit!
First Tony LaRussa comments on the illegal alien invasion and now Albert Pujols steps up big time like this…
I'm a huge Met fan (sigh…), but you've got to appreciate these two, from a team in the heartland (no coincidence in this), making America proud!
