Andrew doesn't need to apologize to race baiters and "entitled" people who take advantage of the system, like her and her husband did.

She said in her speech about how the white farmer kept talking and showing that he was 'superior' to her. I saw her on the Today show and she came across as a prima donna, trying to act superior to everyone. She's the epitome of some uppity woman that acts like the world owes her something just because of who she is. Her NAACP comments about how we suffered through Bush and we're done with that because we have a black president now, is pure racist talk.
She thinks she's the modern day Rosa Parks. She's got another think or two coming. She had a giant chip on her shoulder in 1984 when the farmer instance occurred, she had a giant chip on her shoulder at the NAACP convention in March, and she still has a giant chip on her shoulder now. I wish she would go back to obscurity. She's not doing anything to make the country better.

I'm not quite sure how to peg Webb, but from his history, he seems to have the guts to speak publicly when he thinks something is wrong.
That article could be a career-killer, or at the very least a major liability in his next election if he chooses to run, especially since he represents a state with a large minority population and growing concentrations of liberal voters.

TAX DOLLARS AT WORK . REPARATIONS ? National CLT Network/CLT Academy – The national conference in Athens, GA was a success. 160 people attended. One of the keynote speakers, Shirley Sherrod, was a founder of New Communities, Inc., the first CLT in the country. New Communities purchased approx. 5,000 acres with the intention of farming the land and providing housing for a community of mostly black individuals who had not had access to land. They succeeded in holding onto the farm for almost ten years, but lost it when USDA foreclosed on a loan to them. This year, after a ten year law suit, the folks who had incorporated New Communities were awarded a $25 million settlement from the Federal government because USDA was found to have violated their civil rights. The judgment is not yet final, but if it goes through, Mrs. Sherrod and others hope to purchase land and re-establish New Communities. In another sign of changing times, Mrs. Sherrod is now the State Director of USDA in Georgia.

On February 18, 2010, Attorney General Holder and Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack announced
a $1.25 billion settlement of these so-called Pigford II claims. The Administration included $1.15
billion in its FY2010 supplemental budget request for settlement costs. An amendment (S.Amdt.
3407) to H.R. 4213, the Tax Extenders Act of 2009, to authorize the funding failed on March 10,
2010. A provision in the settlement permitted the plaintiffs to void the settlement if Congress did
not appropriate the $1.15 billion by March 31, 2010. Appropriators did not meet that deadline,
although USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack sent letters in March to congressional leaders asking them
to appropriate money for the settlement, saying that resolving cases of discrimination is a
department priority. Because the settlement is clearly a priority of both the USDA and the White
House, plaintiffs are unlikely to exercise their right to void the settlement in the near term. Unlike
the original Pigford decision, the Pigford II settlement does not include a suggested settlement
amount, although it does provide for higher payments to claimants who go through a more
rigorous review process. A moratorium on foreclosures of most claimants’ farms will be in place
until after claimants have gone through the claims process. Payments to successful claimants may
begin in the middle of 2011.

Raise taxes on those who have been raised effectively, valued education and worked towards creating a profitable and productive existence. Raise those taxes to provide security, health care and a future for those who do not meet the previous description. And, blame the system (a euphemism for those that have ability and are successful) as the reason WHY those who are unsuccessful are unsuccessful. Call it social justice as means to provide equality. But never, ever suggest that those in need or those who are unsuccessful share any blame for their position.
Focus on social justice. Completely ignore what it means and 'redefine' it. Forget that ultimately, social justice is actually BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF and your childern SO THE REST OF SOCIETY DOES NOT HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU and your children. Pretend that it is necessary to compensate for an 'unfair' system (see previous description for what this 'unfair' system is).
Pretend that equality means 'same'. Pretend that the limiting factor in the real application of 'equality' is not ability (which is innate or genetic, or in some instances earned through HARD WORK). Pretend that acting as if we are all the 'same' is equality; and then attempt to convince us all that we deserve the same things in life; regardless of hard work and/or ability.
Again, never confront people (unless they disagree with you) with the notion that maybe they haven't made good choices. That maybe they haven't valued the right things (ie, education). That maybe they don't have the correct priorities (if you want something figure out how to work to get it). That maybe they don't have equal ability with those that are more successful. That maybe THEY have played a role in their lives and their upbringing, actions, choices and ability put them in the position they are in.
Tell them that we are all the "same". But use the word 'equal'.
And, blame the successful (those with ability that you don't have), but call it the system. Promise that the government can fix it.
The only flaw in the plan: That while the government can regulate (read: limit) my ability and force me to pay higher taxes to reapportion income to make us all 'equal' (read: the same). The government can't give you equal ability. They can't make you smarter or harder working or more skilled.
Eventually, it can't work.
When people figure that out; blame racism.

Riceboro, Georgia to get Almost $7.5 million In Recovery Act Funds for Sewer Treatment Plant Expansion Project

Shirley Sherrod, Georgia state director of USDA Rural Development, Mayor Bill Austin, and other officials celebrated Earth Day in Riceboro, where Phase II of a sewer collection and treatment project will be completed thanks to a USDA Rural Development loan and grant for $7,495,200. The project will eliminate a health and safety hazard, as well as provide service for 225 new users. The funding is provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“This is a wonderful way to observe Earth Day, because this project will help clean up the environment,” Sherrod said. “This project is very close to the ocean, as well.”
The City of Riceboro, located less than 10 miles from the ocean in Liberty County, is spread over about 4,000 acres, but has a population of only 800. Liberty County is ranked by the State of Georgia as being among those with the greatest need and highest poverty levels.
A sewer main will be installed to serve two areas. Those customers currently are experiencing failing septic systems, which creates a health hazard. Service will also be provided to a large, local employer.
Also, part of the Earth Day celebration was a river clean up and a poster contest sponsored by the city.
Over 100 people attended the Earth Day announcement in Baxley, Georgia and many dined under a permanent pavilion by the river.

Here's a woman who's father was murdered by a white man and NOTHING was done about it in the racist south. Surely she's going to have some ill feeling towards whites. They create an organization in the racist south to help black farmers fight to keep their land that they aorked hard to buy. Into her organizationwalks a white farmer who was turned away by the white run USDA looking for help from her organization because was about to lose his land. Now think about that for a miunte if you are able to. What would you have done if you were in her shoe at that time? Would you have had a change of heart towards the very people who killed you Dad and now wants you to help them even though you've lost your land? Here's a woman who CLAIMS her father was murdered by a white man. It's almost infinitely more likely that he was murdered–if he was–by another black man. Black on black crime accounts for over 50% of violent crimes in this country and has for the past 65 years…or more….even though blacks account for only about 13% of the population. Someone calculated that a white man has about a 1 in 5,000 chance of being the victim of a violent crime perpetrated by another white man, but a black man has a 1 in 10 chance of being the victim of a violent crime perpetrated by another black man. Even Ron Brown, before his mysterious death back in the 90's, said that if he saw a group of black youths approaching him on the street after dark, he'd more than likely cross the street to avoid contact with them.

In 2008, the U.S. Congress passed the Farm Bill. Included in the bill was a provision to
assist the “late filers” in the Pigford Class Action Lawsuit filed by Black farmers against
the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The wording of the provision in the Farm Bill can be
found on the Pigford Lawsuit section of our website.
Below please find an explanation about the Pigford Lawsuit
from what I gather, this is what was filed as an excuse or rather an explanation as to why most of the farmers did not fulfill the requirements to be included in the pigford settlement. ie., why they were tardy, didn't turn in their homework, excuses for being rejected…is this the paper that convinced the O admin to continue with reparations?

Similarly Situated White Farmers
The requirement that each farmer who made a claim in the Pigford case had to list one or
more white farmers in his or her community who were similarly situated and did receive
benefits from USDA, when these benefits were denied to the Black farmer, proved to be
difficult. Many Black farmers did not know the specific white farmers who received
USDA loans and assistance. There were problems in determining who was “similarly
situated” and what that meant in practical terms after decades of discrimination that
prevented fair and equitable comparisons.

• Some of the adjudicators in the case decided that the white farmer(s) cited by the
Black farmer claimant had to have received USDA assistance in the same year or
for the same periods, in the same county and for the same type of loan that the
discriminatory treatment was claimed. Thousands of claims were denied for
reasons related to the requirement to list white farmers. Many of these have been
successfully appealed because the Monitor allowed Black farmer claimants to
submit new information about white farmers in their communities and counties.
• In addressing this problem, the Federation has recommended and the Davis bill
(HR558) includes provisions for USDA to make the names of similarly situated
white farmers in communities, counties and states available so this will no longer
be a problem for late claimants and others allowed to file under new legislation.
So? Where's the full tape? You claim the full tape is even worse than provide a three and a half minute tape of something completely unrelated and fail to point out what specifically you're talking about.

"Virginia farmer John Boyd describes a scene from a painful past: a white U.S. Department of Agriculture loan officer only allows black farmers to apply for loans one day a week. "Black Wednesday," the farmers call it, and they line up outside the USDA office in Richmond, Va. The loan officer, James Garnett, leaves the door to his office open so that all the farmers in the hallway can hear the loan requests of their colleagues be summarily, and vehemently, denied.

This is not the case to make. Your stats may be accurate but accuracy demands the right application. In this case I would not suggest that the facts are different than what has been presented. We need to pick our fights and be dead on certain when we make our claims. Not do the hack research like the left does but stick to the demonstrable evidence,,,,which there is plenty of.

Folks, if you do not go to liberal forums and post on Politico, the Hill etc. pointing out this racist woman then the liberal media will win. If you are not calling the news channels and raising the issue that the liberal media is trying to bury, and make it out to be Breitbart's fault, then the liberal scumbags will win. I urge the administrators of the “Big” weblogs to re-post the original BigGoverment story that discussed the Shirley Sherrod videos. If this story is examined, several things are obvious:
1) The story was not an attack on Ms. Sherrod per se, but was instead focused on the hypocrisy of the NAACP and other critics of the Tea Party movement;
2) While full context is lacking, no effort is made to conceal the fact that Sherrod’s remarks were part of a larger story that included her “change of heart.”
I find it especially ironic that Andrew Breitbart is being criticised ( for not providing the “full context” of Shirley Sherrod’s remarks ) by people who make no attempt to provide any context for Mr. Breitbart, such as his BG post, and who show no sign in their criticisms that they themselves have even made an effort to read what Breitbart posted before they spew their uninformed, sanctimonious nonsense.
Shirley's father was not "murdered" by a white man. Her father was executed by the State. Mother Theresa Sherrod should be in prison.

So you get a minus-18 for stating that her father was murdered by a white man and actually asking people to think what they would do in the situation. This doesn't bode well for those who post here at biggovernment.com.
The reality is that her father was shot in the back and then the killer completely set free by an all-white jury. Ms. Sherrod shows great grace in her story or redemption and forgiveness. That is what should be focused on. Unfortunately, it seems that those who are so quick to find racism in everyone else are far too slow to examine their own biases.
