Pakistani Taliban Claims NYC Car Bomb

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility in a video posted on the Internet Sunday for the attempted car bomb attack in New York City’s Times Square.
In the 1 minute, 11 second video allegedly released by the Pakistani Taliban, the group says the attack is revenge for the death of its leader, Baitullah Mehsud, and the recent slaying of al-Qaida in Iraq leaders Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who were killed by U.S. and Iraqi troops last month north of Baghdad.
The U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group, which uncovered the video on YouTube, said the militants claim responsibility in the tape for Saturday’s failed car bombing in New York. The video later appeared to have been removed from the website.
New York City’s police commissioner said there’s no evidence of a Taliban link to the failed car bomb.
In a copy of the tape provided by SITE, an unidentified voice speaking in Urdu, the primary language in Pakistan, says the group takes “full responsibility for the RECENT ATTACK IN THE USA.” The speaker says it comes in response to American “interference and terrorism in Muslim Countries, especially in Pakistan for (the) Lalmasjid operation,” a reference to the Pakistani army’s 2007 storming of the Red Mosque in Islamabad where militants were holed up inside.
The video makes no specific reference to the attack in New York, does not mention the location or that it was a car bomb.
The claim could not be immediately verified. But if it turns out to be genuine, it would be the first time the Pakistani Taliban has struck outside of South Asia. It has no known global infrastructure like al-Qaida. In at least one past instance, the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for an attack it played no role in.

Actually there is plenty of research behind my claims. I know the history of US policy in the Middle East, all of the regimes we have overthrown, all of the puppet government we have put in place, all of the intervention in wars, etc for over 60 years now. There is a reason people are willing to fly thousands of miles to try and kill us, and its not because they hate our freedom, its because we dont allow them to have theirs.

Actually there is plenty of research behind my claims, the only problem her is you are alone in your thought's.
First: They hate us solely for being alive and American. They use the wars to guilt us and to justify their hatred. They would hate us and try to kill us regardless. Second: Terrorists are threats to our security and we should continue to pursue the fight against terrorism. I want our troops home too as soon as possible but not without doing what they can in that fight against terrorism. When the time comes to change strategy and lessen the number of military personnel needed in the fight, then by all means bring them home.
As for the economic concerns, you are correct. The war effort has taken far too long, and cost far too much. If we would have (and still should) used nearly the full force (no nukes) of our military it would have been in and out quicker and for a lot less cash.

Once again, the main stream media is pulling the wool over our eyes by not reporting ALL of the news concerning this incident. Not trying to discredit the Taliban Islamic terrorist here, but I recall just a few weeks ago that Comedy Central pulled the plug on a controversial South Park cartoon which depicted Satan Muhammed dressed up in a bear suit. Well, it just so happens that the suspect bomb vehicle was parked on 45th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues in New York City. This is the location of VIACOM, Inc. offices. VIACOM owns Commedy Central. For some strange reason this information is omitted from every article I've come across so far. It also seems strange that no one is considering the possibilities that a domestic Islamic terrorist is making good on a threat made against Comedy Central.

In the context of WW2, A lot of historians who opioions i agree with consider our us of fire bombing raids over Germany actually made the war in Europe last longer since it made the german people ( not the Nazi's) stay the course with the Nazis since they felt the had no choice. The use of fire bombing in Japan was based on the fact that most of the people in that country believed they had to die for the emperor and would have killed allied soldiers regardless of the cost to themselves.
Different wars call for different measures. Killing civilians in the Af/Pak/Iraq theater would do more to drive the civilians not helping the terrorists to helping the terrorists
