Supreme Court Upholds ACORN Funding Ban

The Supreme Court has turned down ACORN’s request for help in its lawsuit claiming Congress was wrong to shut off the activist group’s federal funding.
The high court on Friday refused to throw out a decision by the federal appellate court in New York City. That court had decided to freeze a judge’s determination that Congress acted unconstitutionally in yanking the group’s funding.
ACORN, which bills itself as an advocate for low-income and minority home buyers and residents, has drastically cut its operations since losing its funding.
Lawmakers acted after a widely circulated video showed three employees apparently advising a couple posing as a prostitute and her boyfriend to lie about her profession and launder her earnings.

Yes, I'll praise Democrats for making a politically-calculated move to cut federal funding for an organization, after videos of the organization helping a pimp and prostitute bring child sex slaves into the country went national. The same organization that has for years, by the way, been committing voter fraud and pushing socialist policies.
And I'll do all of that after my monthly meeting with the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus.
No one in a real business would hire her as a former CEO of an enterprise riddled with corruption and sucking at the governments teat. She is hopefully too toxic for a CZAR position after her foul mouth rantings at the Socialists earlier this week. That leaves SOROS funded positions and her ego might be a hindrance. Oh well I am sure she knows how to get government assistance when her unemployment runs out!
As much as I really hate to admit this one, the funding ban will be recinded again because it does amount to a bill of attainder. What has to happen is that congress needs to pass a bill that sets out criteria for the ethics of the corporations involved to receive government funding. But, in the meantime, every dollar that ACORN misses out on is a dollar that is spent better elsewhere.

And although you're right, the ruling only upheld the appellate decision by the NY court, a reversal of that decision would have affected government funding for the whole organization nationwide.

You know I think ACORN might be wise if they allowed some sane, attractive looking people occasionally get photographed from their staff. To me it seems any photographed woman from that organization looks like they were just shocked in some way and are responding with resounding disbelief. In this picture this woman looks like she just sat down on a porcupine. I am expecting an additional vaudeville actor to come out and remove the porcupine from the chair and then this woman grab it and smack him over the head with it. Almost like a touring comedy act. Presentation is more than half the battle when you are trying to sell something.
