AP: Foes of Tea Party Movement to Infiltrate Rallies

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic.
Jason Levin, creator of http://www.crashtheteaparty.org, said Monday the group has 65 leaders in major cities across the country who are trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15—tax filing day, when tea party groups across the country are planning to gather and protest high taxes.
“Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn’t an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, ‘That’s right, he’s an alien from outer space!’” Levin said.
Tea party members said the backlash comes from ignorance.
“They can’t actually debate our message and that’s their problem,” said Bob MacGuffie, a Connecticut organizer for Right Principles, a tea party group that also has members in New York and New Jersey.
The tea party movement generally unites on the fiscally conservative principles of small government, lower taxes and less spending. Beyond that the ideology of the people involved tends to vary dramatically.
Levin says they want to exaggerate the group’s least appealing qualities, further distance the tea party from mainstream America and damage the public’s opinion of them.

I have a great idea we should start working on right now, so we will never find ourselves in the mess we are in today. We need another amendment to the Constitution, So when our elected officials intact or pass a piece of legislation contrary to public opinion. We can put it on ice until it has had it's day in court. With a one third of states filing suit, and it should be frozen until it has had its day in court.

Any local media that runs "reports", editorials, or comments about the Tea Parties needs to get multiple responses pointing out this explicit attempt to discredit the Tea Parties.

I am no expert on the intricacies of laws and their passing, but I think a better route than amending the constitution would be that no law can be put on autopilot, which is to say that every law (particularly entitlement spending) must be renewed every year.

This shouldn't come as a surprise, they've certainly been doing it for some time prior to this. When there's a leftist protest group, conservatives don't need to infiltrate, because they look like radicals all by themselves. Their violent backlashes are acts of 'righteous rebellions', and our peaceful protests are 'inciting violence.' It's amazing that even with the government, majority of media, and groups like this behind their cause, the American people still don't believe the tea party is a threat. Cooler heads always prevail, just feel sorry for people that are frightened to death of legitimate political debate.

This organization and it's thought processes are all the normal for the progressive left. We've all seen it time and time again. I think it's a great idea. We should all call out anyone who has racist or really dumb signs. You can bet it will be an infilTRAITOR.

Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with

As a non-Republican Tea Party member, I would think that most of us would protest Bush's spending now. However, it has taken Obama's attempt at altering the entire basis of this great country to knock the apathy of myself (and many others). I do recall many of my conservative friends protesting the unconstitutional Patriot Act (which Obama has left totally in tact). Thus, I would agree that the protesting of spending could have come years before–but it is certainly good that it is here now, and I do not think there is any immune political party from such protesting. As for the Vietnam protests–really? Most of those protesters were drugged out followers protesting to avoid real life. And, the hostility those 70's protestors had toward the actual young men that served (as compared to the politics of war) was and still is inexcusable. I grew up in Santa Cruz in the 70s and those protestors only cared about getting high and causing trouble–they cared little for the USA and the principals upon which this great country was founded. So, you can "think more," but I'll continue to "think relevant."

The individual tea party groups need to
1. notify the media that there may be violence and offensive behavior 'purporting' to come from the Tea Party.
2. there are reports of anarchists planning to cause these disruption to embarrass the REAL tea party participants.
3. Establish and promote one person at each event that will be the media clearing house if there is impropper behavior.
4. Attendees with video of trouble makers need to get any video immediately to the clearing house and identify the trouble makers.
