The national group ACORN is folding, an official there, Kevin Whelan, said in an emailed statement:
The ACORN Association Board met on Sunday March 21 and approved a set of steps to responsibly manage the process of bringing its operations to a close over the coming months. These include:
* Closing ACORN’s remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1st; and
* Developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues.ACORN’s members have a great deal to be proud of–from promoting to homeownership to helping rebuild New Orleans, from raising wages to winning safer streets, from training community leaders to promoting voter participation—ACORN members have worked hard to create stronger to communities, a more inclusive democracy, and a more just nation.
ACORN was always a very decentralized group, with a great deal of its activity and power concentrated in local chapters from New York to Arkansas — the strongest of which will survive. The collapse of the national group, though, reflects the impact of a conservative assault that never prompted any prosecutions.

A 70 Seat turn around in November and the dem plans are gone for good. Someone else brought that up and I think it sounds like a decent plan.

Acorn is regrouping in various states under differernt names, the Dems have voted to continue funding them, and they are gearing up to attempt to steal the November elections. The Progressive Dems can't win on the merits because they've become a bunch of corruptocrats thirsty for power and control. Many have things to hide lest an investigation out them for the crooks they are. So they must maintain control; that and keeping the money flowing to their big donors, of which a big winner last night was the guy really running the WH, Andy Stern.

I heard Andrew Breitbart on a podcast when he guest-hosted an episode of the Michael Savage show.
To paraphrase, he said that Acorn's woes discourage other such groups, and sends a message to the banks that Acorn does not need to be accommodated

When they attempt to regroup, they will be weak, wounded, and mutilated. I agree, but take a look at Obama's budget for this year it had a tremendous increase in funding for community organizations and that is not the Lions Club, Scouting or Garden Clubs. It is for "COMMUNITY GRANTS" which are to assist with poverty and social issues as I recall from reading it.
If I recall correctly the amount was like 10 times more than what Acorn had annually in the past from all sources. With the Judges ruling in hand banks will float them loans today.
