Even if the charges were true, which they probably aren't, BFD. One or two jackasses screaming dumb shit does not make a case against the movement in any way.
But if it is part of a smear campaign by these two "congressmen" then it must be proven untrue.
We need to confront them and demand their proof not just off hand third party statements.
Evidence is required in this instance.

I agree, just think that stupid little distractions like this are a significant part of the reason that Liberal/Progressive/Fascist/Communist/Whatever people manage to get into power in the first place. They know they cannot win a debate or accomplish anything when their opponents apply logic. So they dangle the little carrot of insulting the character of their opponents, and we spend so much time chasing it around that they can do whatever they want while we are worried about a pointless charge.
Sadly – it would not surprise me if someone, or even a few in the crowd, acted in frustration and anger (said or did things which should not have happened). IF anyone did use racial slurs -or- spat on anyone, that should be condemned by all in attendance and from afar.
Meanwhile we watch and wait to see if this monstrosity of a bill is Rahmed through today. The Bill and whether Representatives honor their constituent preference should be the issue. The "engineered" document yields a passing CBO score (the office is required to pass judgment on what they are sent). Adding in the "doc fix" alone moves the Bill into the red.
There is message drift, as some argue Federal abortion funding / some argue Constitutionality / etc. The plain fact is We The People know we can't afford this plan and We The People have asked our Representatives to stand down this legislation … start over … do smaller incremental fixes which can survive lawful voting (no deem to pass / reconciliation) and gain bipartisan support.
It would be a blessing if the Bill failed …

Ok, as much as everyone on here is complaining about the (bogus?) racism charges, all that proves is that Saul Alinsky is a great political strategist. Even if it did not happen, so many of us are paying attention to that rather than the fact that THE VOTE IS TODAY. We are too distracted to send a clear enough message to Washington that voting NO matters more than whatever charges are being thrown around. It is a simple distracting tactic, and it's working like a sonofabitch.
Well, let's worry about that, as well as the tons of other shit wrong with Washington after this HC thing is settled for once and for all, one way or the other. If we play along and get our collective panties all in a bunch, they win today.

I'm surprised that apparently no columnist or commentator has noted the deafening silence about this horrible legislation from our foes.

Third-world America-hating economists at the International Monetary Fund, I'll bet, are excitedly making contingency plans to pillory us in global op-ed pages as our bond ratings drop and our budget deficits skyrocket further. The opportunity to embarrass us on the world stage (not that we're doing such a poor job of it ourselves), is mental Viagra to such types.
We're retreating from our responsibilities to Democracy and from our obligation to leave our children with a nation that is better than we found it.
It is time to make some sacrifices to stop this destruction and restore our nation to sound financial footing! Otherwise, we'll become pushovers for the tyrants of the world (Read "China" here).
I have been to a few Tea Parties and everyone was civilized and there weren't any racial epithets shouted at all. The whole business of these protests is to stop Health Care Takeover and Big Government Spending. Period.

What can be said? The plain fact that we are this close to tyrannical control of our society means the fight may be already lost.
I do have faith in the American people, but the situation is very dire indeed.
When Obama was elected we all saw this coming, that so many could vote for this man and this fraud is the real problem. And still for the most part the citizens are asleep, they just want their cut of the rich mans loot.

What kind of tactic is this; that the left has used for a generation or more? Only now brought to its pinnacle in effect. They have for their own device created a mood of universal hatred. Those of us who revile their detestable policies; and those who revile anyone who opposes them. You can't prove a negative and they know it. We can't prove it didn't happen with 100% certainty. This is how the left works. Claim racism and out the burden on you to prove its false. With just under two hours to go now, I sit in quiet contemplation. We are standing at a crossroad as the fate of our Nation is decided. This is the day we find out if God's Wrath is upon us for all the innocent children we have murdered over the years. And for acting against the People of Israel.

True, but the entire point of any accusations being levied at this particular time is as I have maintained constantly today, entirely to distract from the fact that the H/C VOTE IS TODAY. We all need to quit worrying about this garbage until this vote is finished. We are being distracted deliberately with this filth to make sure, in the final moments before the voting, that as many opposition voices as possible are worrying about this, rather than doing everything they can to make sure our representatives hear a clear NO from the people.
Our number one rule at protest is no profanity or racially derogatory is allowed.
If anyone uses it they are booted PERIOD!

That scene always gets me fired up, my favorite line being, "all things are ready if our minds be so".
Re claims of racism, et al.. I'm of the opinion that if this did happen it was Alinskyite infiltrators seeking to make the teaparty look bad. It's what Alinsky advocated doing in his booklet rules for radicals.
The statists are looking to destroy the attraction of the tea party for conservative minorities. This is all about November 2010 and November 2012. If they can convince conservative minorities that the Tea Party participants are racists then they will have succeeded in slowing it down and possilbly damaging it permanently.
How else to keep the races separate–make them distrust each other. The Black Caucus stunt we all just witnessed will be one of many. The Tea Party Organizers need to seed camera operators on the perimeters of these events. Tape who comes and goes from the crowds. Record it all. Posterity would like a record.
