If you really think this healthcare bill is so horrible then where were you months ago? If it was such a horrible corruption to the Constitution, where were you months ago? If it was such a threat to your liberties and freedoms how come you aren't up in arms? The democrats plan for November is to kick the borders wide open and start a huge voter registration drive of former illegals. The economy will collapse, unemployment will skyrocket and the living standard will approach third-world standards, but they may remain in power. That's all that matters to these people.

Chicago Politics is just as bad a Chicago Business. You have your unsavory people taking bribes, pressuring others, and doing anything they can to destroy the opposition and win the game. Where was I a few months ago? Protesting in front of the Capitol before the House voted on its awful healthcare killer bill. Visiting my Congressman's office to tell him I expected him to uphold the Constitution and vote against Pelosi's heathcare killer bill. Emailing my Senators to tell them to vote against the Senate version of the healthcare killer bill. You must have had your head in the sand (or some other place where the sun don't shine) if you think this is just a last minute frenzy.
The question is: Will the military obey orders to shoot on fellow citizens if this thing goes bad? I wouldn't. They did at Kent State. I envision a scene where Obama tells the commanders to order the troops to fire and they all in unison, say, "NO!"

I believe that if/when this bill becomes law we have effectively gone over the cliff of transformation and our country will be in a irreversable freefall. But I have to agree some with the sentiment of the masses being disappointing in this fight. It's the 11th hour and 59th minute, 1 minute until we reach the cliff, and most people are still not on the right principle to win. If this transformation is not going to come to fruition it will be because we FINALLY make this fight about the founders' constitutional intent. Are we ever going to quit letting 'them' pick the battles? It's well known to be the worst war strategy and will end in defeat. But it's exactly what we are STILL doing. We either make this fight about the extremely limited role for fed/gov in our Constitution, or we watch the fruition of transformation and become the generation that let the world's only hope for a free common man die.
Our fellow countrymen have no character, no honor, no values. They've all turned into "Freddie the Freeloaders" and would much rather stand in line for the "Obama Bucks" than go out and do an honest days work for an honest days pay. And the Democrat's would much rather be slave masters than elected representatives. The freedoms of our people is the only thing that quenches their thirst for power.

Look at the contortions they've had to go through to get this far (with super majorities in both houses). About the troops opening fire, remember that they were very young boys in a incredibly stressful situation and one of the protestors simulated the sound of gunfire by throwing lightbulbs to the concrete. Opening fire was a poor reaction, not an order given. But it was exactly the desired results of the protest organizers. — another lesson from Kent State, the nation wide image of those troops firing on citizens turned the momentum in favor of the progressive movement of that time. Later the nation wide image of Charles Manson's evil killed the momentum of the progressive movement. — So far, the ACORN images have hurt the progressive momentum, and the are going to try to create another nation wide image to reverse the momentum back to their favor.

From what I've read this morning, it sounds like this thing is going back to the CBO at least one more time if they are going to have a chance at passing it. There are problems with the wording of the Bill according to some Democrat lawmakers. Evidently, some of them feel they are getting screwed and have threatened to vote NO unless it gets fixed.

The answer is as simple as the three "Rs". 1. REPUDIATE-Take the American political equivalent of the guillotine–the vote–and hand the left an epic defeat, one that is bigger than 1994 and at all levels of government. We need to send a message to these traitors to the Constitution that will reverberate for a generation. 2. REPEAL-If the bill is passed this weekend, the Republicans should immediately declare that they "deem" it illegitimate, and unconstitutional, pledge to repeal it at the first opportunity and do everything within their power to prevent its funding and implementation until the next election and Supreme Court review. To the extent possible, citizens should resist and use civil disobedience and other non-violent tactics to ensure that this monstrosity dies in its infancy. If it takes a constitutional crisis to preserve our Constitution and its values, now is the time to bring it to a head. RESTORATION-Get back to basics on the big issues like a Constitution whose importance is not limited to the Bill of Rights, i.e., a federal government of limited powers, American exceptionalism and a path that is different than Western European model, leaders who do not demonize American citizens, a free market capitalist economy, profits are good, not evil, work, family, faith, patriotism are rewarded, not attacked, and (this is important) deal with the plague of public sector unions which have used our tax money to support these socialists and which have degraded our public education system (especially the teaching of American History and what used to be called "Civics") to the point where large numbers of our citizenry and elected officials actually see no problem or any reason for concern in handing over our health care system, 1/6 of our economy, to the federal government (you know, the one with "limited powers").

This just occurred to me, as I have an 18 y.o. daughter.
She will turn 19 this year, and will then be dropped from my health insurance coverage. If the new bill is passed, children will be covered under their parents' insurance till they are 26.
Fair enough.
But how does that work?
Am I required to cover her, and continue paying?
If not, can my job make me drop her? (They pay 80% of my premium, after all).
Has anyone in congress considered this?

Time to organize in our Congressional Districts, rather than marching to DC. Many of our
Reps are not wealthy, thus live with their families openly in our communities. When they &
their loved ones are heckled in public, they will not be able to afford private schools & gated
communities. I have never contemplated actions of this type, for I found it to be somewhat
boorish, but now I am beginning to consider all alternatives without embarrassment.
God, please help us all as we battle the forces of marxism in America. People, store up food and ammunition as we prepare to take back our country. The 2nd American Revolution is coming, soon.

Agreed LL, fat is fat and tubbies need to get over it – if you don't want be called fat, try losing some pounds, not that hard to figure out! I know there truly are some who have a medical issue regarding weight, but statistically, they are in the minority and that is the issue I have the biggest problem with – the freakin' minority taking over all things sane and logical.
Your employer will most likely:
1) Make you pay for the full premium
2) Drop your coverage entirely because it's cheaper just to get on the government dole
3) Cut the payroll to make up for the losses (including layoffs)
4) Go bankrupt and close

What threat is being voted out when there's a lifetime retirement package of full compensation?? that alone removes any real penalty… and then the guaranty of cushy employment that many will get for falling on their sword – hell, most of them will be glad be removed now that their (a) mission is accomplished or (b) era is over. So, what threat is being voted out? I don't think presitge is a factor anymore.
I am a fiscal conservative and I am overweight. I am increasingly regarding these two issues, my politics and my health, as intertwined. So far I have lost 29 pounds. I am determined to continue to reduce until I reach a healthy weight, and then maintain it. Likewise I am determined that I will be paying attention to what our representatives in D.C. are doing to this country, and I will actively support candidates/politicians who are fiscal conservatives. My guess is that many others have realized that personal health must be a core or base for political activism nowadays.

Any previous disagreements between us aside, I think you raise a valid question here. I will address it as well as I am able.
I'll start be saying that the retirement issue you raise bothers me greatly as well. I don't believe this should be the law of the land. It was never meant to be this way.
The threat of being voted out is that these people desperately need to stay in office to nurse-maid their Communist takeover of this country. If their seats get filled by their opposition in November, all of their sacrifices on the altar of Communism will have been for naught.
You make a false assumption that none of this can be undone after it passes. Even if there aren't enough votes to repeal the Bill outright, A Republican Congress can simply refuse to fund the program. This does not even require involving the Supreme Court, which, incidentally, is another potential line of attack. We are not beaten,nor are we discouraged. Our anger and resolve grow daily. A tsunami of Conservative Constitutionalism is mounting and it will scour Washington DC in an unstoppable wave eventually.
We WILL take back our country…one brain-washed idiot at a time. It is inevitable.

Roundup you took the words right out of my mouth… We currently have the largest group of Spinless representitives I could ever have imagined. This is CLOWARD/PIVEN to the Max and expect the Immigration, Universal Voting, and card check to follow the exact same path. This will give them their Socialist goverment which is what the REAL objective is, and once the goverment gets rid of the Insurance Industry and takes over ALL industry we'll then be the CSA (Communist States of America.) not the USA. This is extremely disheartening and we must figt this with the same honor and vigor that our Fore fathers did.

You were trying to say we weren't bitching about this from the get go and we were, and you were trying to call us what I called you and I didn't attack your intellegence,yet. Everyone here can be whatever we want to write just like you, hell I am an ex- navy seal as far as you know, but if you did serve my appologies as I have the utmost repect for all that have but I would expect those that shed blood for this nation fighting communisim and corruption all over the world to be espessially pissed off at what is happening in this country.
