Sen. Coburn Vows To Block Special Deals for House Members Who Switch Obamacare Vote from ‘No’ to to ‘Yes’

SEN. TOM COBURN (R), OKLAHOMA: I want to send a couple of messages to my colleagues in the House.
If you voted no and you vote yes, and you lose your election, and you think any nomination to a federal position isn’t going to be held in the Senate, I’ve got news for you. It’s going to be held.
Number two is, if you get a deal, a parochial deal for you or your district, I’ve already instructed my staff and the staff of seven other senators that we will look at every appropriations bill, at every level, at every instance, and we will outline it by district, and we will associate that with the buying of your vote. So, if you think you can cut a deal now, and it not come out until after the election, I want to tell you that isn’t going to happen. And be prepared to defend selling your vote in the House.

I was down in Oklahoma in August,and heard Coburn speak at a Town Hall meeting. I was impressed with his honesty, integrity, and straight-forward manner.

I am so proud of you. I wish this had been done by a group on the first go round of the health care bill and we wouldn't have wasted 6 months, on this ridiculous project ,forfeiting any interest in so many other things of importance. Because you are such a "stand up" kind of a guy, maybe now others will take note and follow your lead.
That is a process that should be extended from heath care to government contractors, education, road building and every other aspect of spending the money we taxpayers put into the federal government. Maybe this can put the fear of God into the republicans as well…

Our Conservative Reps. need to set up soap boxes with huge speakers out on the steps of the Capital and just run a continuous loop of all the lies President Obama has spoken along with that horrible Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi. The vote today was one put up by Republicans, to vote out the use of the slaughter rule. Now they will vote for the slaughter rule on sunday.
