Jerry Brown Urges Unions to ‘Attack’

Faced with the daunting prospect of being significantly outspent by his Republican opponent, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown spoke to a labor group Tuesday and urged them to go on the offensive.
“We’re going to attack whenever we can, but I’d rather have you attack,” Brown said at a gathering of the California delegation of the Laborers’ International Union of North America in Sacramento. “I’d rather be the nice guy in this race. We’ll leave [the attacks] to … the Democratic Party and others.”
Tucker Bounds, a spokesman for GOP candidate Meg Whitman, said Brown’s pitch was unseemly and perhaps even illegal.
“I think this is pretty clear evidence that Jerry Brown is actively seeking independent support to prop up his campaign from the unions attacking Meg Whitman,” Bounds said. “And more importantly, I think, it’s Jerry Brown in his own words laying out a very cynical campaign strategy that’s playing fast and loose with the campaign rules in California.”

The voting public in California has got to wake up and realize that the state of their economy is BECAUSE of Jerry and the Dems and the UNIONS.
The elections this year have to be a clear referendum against the unions and their over bloated contracts which are destroying the state's and their local economies.
All these entitlement programs are designed to alleviate the unions of the promises they made and the money they embezzled from their pension and health care plans. They want to shovel their guilt and obligations off on the feds and ultimately US the taxpayers. The GM bailout had nothing to do with saving the company or industry, it was a bail out to the UNIONS.

I left my California home because of this type of moon bat. If the people of California have allowed their collective brains to turn to mush and want to place this man back at the helm good luck to them all! He currently holds the office of attorney general, and would not prosecute the Acorn crowd. I have to give him credit though; he hid under a rock long enough for many of us to leave the state and for the rest to be too young to know what a danger he is to the economy of what’s left of the once great state.

I listened "on-line" to Meg's debate with Steve Poizner yesterday (no TV station covered it that I could find) and I really liked his answers. Don't know much about him, but am willing to give him a chance since he seems to be a fiscal conservative and I like his stand on illegal immigration, high regulations, taxes and union influence (biggest problems that drain the CA economy). He did a great job at with his positions debating Meg. I'm worried that she has billions of dollars to spend on negative ads (which she started weeks ago). That ref to Van Jones scares the crap out of me! More R progressives in "sheep's clothing" for the weak CA entitlement flock to follow?
What are your thoughts on Poizner?
I've already seen it happening on a web site trying to dig up dirt on Whitman. I'm not a fan of Whitman – but Jerry Brown makes me puke.

We're looking at a bankrupt state and the people in my town are screaming bloody murder because the school district is cutting 38 million from their budget over the next 3 years. They just want the state to give them the money.

I'm so glad I put that state in my rear-view mirror 5 years ago. I only return to visit my elderly mother, and once she departs the scene, I will have no reason whatsoever to return. It is such a beautiful state. But it is also so gone.

This is absolutely ILLEGAL in California! The law SPECIFICALLY requires candidates to NOT direct OUTSIDE money.
Unfortunatly, Jerry Brown is the corrupt Attorney General of California and he will manipulate the law in any way he sees fit.
After all, Jerry Brown has goals that are beyond the laws of the land and his ends justify ANY corruption of the LAW!
