Health Care Reform Meets the Chicago Way

Not even three or four pipes full of Hopium could have convinced me that the Congress of the United States would ever start looking like the Chicago City Council.
But now, with the Chicago Way White House twisting arms for its federal health care legislation, Democrats in Congress and Chicago aldermen are beginning to share a remarkable resemblance.
They’re starting to look like fall guys.
“The Congress? They’re acting like aldermen. Like fall guys. And we know all about fall guys in the city of Chicago,” said Jim Laski, a former Chicago alderman and former federal inmate who is now a WGN radio talk show host.
And:
In Chicago, the mayor gets what he wants, and the mayor’s friends get what they want. And the aldermen? They get the ridicule and the blame.
If the president gets what he desires — a health care victory — then Congress will pay for it in the midterm elections in November, and they know it.
The proof is in that latest congressional trick announced on Tuesday, a ploy so weaselly that it could have been hatched by Chicago politicians.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland is now talking about allowing his members to pass the president’s health care package — whatever’s in it exactly, no one really knows — without a direct up-or-down vote on the current bill.
“It’s consistent with the rules,” Hoyer was quoted as saying on Tuesday. “It’s consistent with former practice.”
Consistent with the rules? Perhaps, but it sure isn’t what President Barack Obama promised when he was talking like a reformer.

They gave a Congressman's district water in California so he would vote for healthcare. Water. Received my 2010 census request a while ago. They want WAY too much information as in "how much do you owe on your home including second liens and mortgages?" And "Are you a welfare rat or illegal alien?" That was an interpretation. Most of the requests violate the discrimination laws of this country. I sent only the information I am required to supply. Name and number of occupants…. PERIOD. And dropped it in the mail. They asked for a phone number and I indicated I did not have one. That is true as my phones are all corporate owned and operated. Let them eat crap.

Certainly, if America or any country truly was about fairness or justice…..people would first and foremost take on personal responsibility by taking care of themselves. After all, what is more 'just' than ME not imposing MY needs on my neighbor (or my community)?
Clearly, there is no justice in a person expecting entitlement. The notion that it is 'fair' for those that 'have' to take care of those that 'have less' is a perversion of true fairness. True fairness would be those that 'have less' either finding a way to get more (education, increased job skills, marry someone rich (lol), etc) or simply doing the best with what they have. The moment that you or I or whoever is FORCED to provide for them is the moment that justice stops. There is NO justice in one individuals personal accountability or responsibility being transferred to others.
If I have met my obligations and am taking care of my needs and my offspring's needs, to have your needs forcibly pushed on me is by any definition 'unfair'.
The allowance of progressive bastardization of clear concepts such as justice and fairness shows a true weakness on the part of those that understand and accept personal accountability.
If entitlements are to end. If government is to be rolled back and made to understand that justice is not about forcing the funding of entitlements on 85% of the country to the benefit of 15% of the country. If government is to understand that fairness does not mean that you take from those that are meeting the natural obligations of responsibility and accountability, to benefit those that refuse to accept natural laws….Then the defense of the American value system and true Government can not be assumed by simply attempting to withstand this progressive barrage.
The defense of America must be offensive. Certainly, progressives understand that you change systems and values and concepts and ideas by chipping away at them. Slowly grinding them down. Carefully and meticulously pushing the line back.
Therefore, to defend ourselves, we can't stand stationary and be swept away by the current of 'change'.
Anyone who cares to maintain responsibility for themselves and their own families, and also wants their neighbors to be held to the same accountability, must now unite.
First, we must retake our language. We must return the words we live by to their intended meanings. We can no longer allow ideas and ideals that have had specific meanings and have been communicated through language for centuries to be reformed to meet the political objectives of a tyrannical class.
That is the first step in thwarted this Master-slave morality being thrust upon us.

This present administration is shaking the people everyday like butterflies in a jar hoping to keep us unsettled so as to not think clearly.
