Swing Districts Oppose Health Reform
by PubliusHeather Higgins and Kellyanne Conway in today’s Wall Street Journal:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she plans to bring health-care reform to a vote this week. Democratic leaders cite national polls that show support for individual provisions of the bill as a reason to pass this reform. Yet vulnerable politicians should be warned: Responses to questions about individual benefits, particularly when removed from a cost context, are different from those on the whole bill.
Voters in key congressional districts are clear in their opposition to what they have seen, read and heard on health-care reform. That’s one of the findings of a survey that will be released today by the Polling Company on behalf of Independent Women’s Voice. The survey consisted of 1,200 registered voters in 35 districts represented by members who could determine the outcome of the health-care debate. Twenty of those members voted for the House bill in November but now may be reconsidering. Fifteen voted against the bill but are under tremendous pressure to change their vote.
The survey shows astonishing intensity and sharp opposition to reform, far more than national polls reflect. For 82% of those surveyed, the heath-care bill is either the top or one of the top three issues for deciding whom to support for Congress next November. (That number goes to 88% among independent women.) Sixty percent want Congress to start from scratch on a bipartisan health-care reform proposal or stop working on it this year. Majorities say the legislation will make them and their loved ones (53%), the economy (54%) and the U.S. health-care system (55%) worse off—quite the trifecta.
Seven in 10 would vote against a House member who votes for the Senate health-care bill with its special interest provisions. That includes 45% of self-identified Democrats, 72% of independents and 88% of Republicans. Three in four disagree that the federal government should mandate that everyone buy a government-approved insurance plan (64% strongly so), and 81% say any reform should focus first on reducing costs. Three quarters agree that Americans have the right to choose not to participate in any health-care system or plan without a penalty or fine.
That translates into specific concerns with the Senate legislation—and none of these objections would be addressed by the proposed fixes. Over 70%—indeed in several districts over 80%—of respondents, across party lines, said that the following information made them less supportive: the bill mandates that individuals purchase insurance or face penalties; it cuts Medicare Advantage; it will force potentially millions to lose existing coverage; it will cost an estimated $2.3 trillion over its first 10 years; and it will grant unprecedented new powers to the Health and Human Services secretary.
Should members from these districts and those like them be concerned? Yes. Walking the Democratic line now means walking the plank. Sixty percent of the voters surveyed will vote for a candidate who opposes the current legislation and wants to start over.

that America wants this bullshit you are trying to feed the good people.
Continue on with the socialist/marxist/idiotic crap of attempting

Continue on this path of elitism which those of you on the left
have been drooling over.

I guess that comment wasn't allowed
the train wreck keeps a 'comin'…
Stuck between a rock and a hard place- of their own making- they have to follow the lemmings off the cliff, for extermination awaits in November. Tough spot.
However, this may not pass. Watch for them to 1) NEVER mention 'healthcare' again, and 2) move right to immigration.
Phase three of the socialist takeover. Need. oh, say 15 million new Democratic voters to pull this off, and ACORN and SEIU is ready with the census.
Feel better?
I see Brazen Barry and his burnished brass balls is in Ohio, delivering yet another hoaxey-chainzey Health Care speech. What is that now, 57 speeches in 52 weeks in all 57 states?
I wonder, win, loose, or draw, after this week, whatever will "they" have to talk about?
For the last year, Barry has been obsessed with Health Care, while the greatest economy the world has ever seen has come to a screeching halt, and unemployment has reached levels not seen since the Great Depression.
here let me try again

I don't care how many of these two-faced Social Democrats back pedal on their vote. They will be held accountaqble just for thinking this was a good idea. 'Sides, how could you respect anyone who can be browbeaten by the likes of that Skank Peloser! This goes double for you so-called Republicans.
It is all for show anyway. The outcomes are manipulated due to electronic voting. And both parties vote for the same thing anyway. That is what happens when you have both party members accepting the same CFR/AIPAC agenda.
So wouldn't it be best for the bill to pass? Then according to the teabagosphere democrats would be voted out in droves. Followed by republicans passing their own bill.
You don't know your ass from first base. Obama ran on reforming health care. And won in a landslide.
And the bills passage will doom the GOP for a decade. And you know it. And that's why you lie.
And I'm having a great time watching the wingnut meltdown. Very entertaining.
use your imagination
Here's a semi-comprehensive list of bribes and kickbacks:
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/12/21/cash-for-clo...
That's the actual bill that is considering passing, not some theoretical yet-to-be-merged bill.
Obama has recently dropped demands for rescinding these bribes in the yet-to-be-defined reconciliation bill.
Obama is out-doing himself with anti-constitutional works now. All he needs is a shredder.
Ohio anti-health care bill protesters line street for odumbo….love it….

I see the are starting the reconciliation process
Did you try to use the word sociaIist in the post?
If so, replace the lower case "L" with a capitol "i" and it will show post…
And they're darn proud of it too. Just listen to Dirty Harry last week……"Today only 37,000 Americans lost their jobs, and that's a good thing". Bunch of A holes.
The only thing I want Obama to sign is his resignation.
Well,
I cannot fib
but that wasnt the only word i used
the top two reasons for wanting this p.o.s. that i've heard from the left:
1. it will save money in the long run
-i don't know what that could possibly be based on
2. it will piss off everyone on the right, so there, Obama is the best president ever.
-this i take to mean that they're still sore over President Bush
for something that is so "morally important" and such a financial risk wouldn't any sane person want to measure twice before cutting once? death to the democratic party if this passes.
and most of the post were words to make a sailor blush
Duh…
When you leave the zionist pig stuff out of your posts, you start to make sense. Republicans are the lesser of two evils, but they're still corrupt, greedy, power-hungry, %&*&)_&&^)_%$$%s.
No Incumbents in '10.
The Liar-in-Chief supposedly taught Constitutional law. He knows exactly what he is doing. the British call it " malice aforethought." I predict one way or the other he leaves office disgrace – but we will get stuck with the tab.
interesting. starting to see the Obama & DNC minions appearing on message boards out in the heartland with pathos ridden stories about the time their sick cousin couldn't afford a band-aid or wear her wooden teeth to the ball. they're pushing all out this week to make it seem that the "people" are behind their totalitarianism.
if anybody from this board feels like it, please check this article out at
http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/anti-health-care...
and help beat back the lies.
if anyone else has local newspapers with articles like this, please post the links and let's weigh in as a group.
I'm not a teabagger but I agree with you that they need to take that bullshit and shove it up their ass.
T.E.A. Taxed Enough Already. After Obama cut taxes for 95% of us. The stupidity is breathtaking.
Thatis a great video.
It needs to go viral.
Peoplestill think enough of this Republic, to line the streets on a cold, rainy day, and protest that arrogant puke.
Interesting.
Is that the new DNC jobs created or saved program? Hire them at minimum wage to post on message boards?
We will remember come November! If you’re in the political “business” don’t make long term plans.
Salad tosser! Our mistake!
Watching the dems meltdown over not having enough votes of their own to pass this thing.
Their solution? Channel Saul Alinsky to break the law and violate the constitution in a Marxist coup to get around it. Next, they'll call in Bill Ayers to come in and blowtorch it.
No wonder these creeps thought a lot of John Edwards– it's the new normal.
.
SEIU only need apply!!!!!
Those message boards should read "GET YOUR OBAMA SNAKE OIL HERE'.
"death to the democratic party if this passes"
Death to the democrat party if it doesn't. Just for considering it.
On the Michele Malkin site in the section of giveaways there was a mention of a National Health
Service Corps. Like Napoleon sent to Elba, poor young graduates could have their medical school
debts reduced or forgiven, by going to work places under served by the health-care community. So
being that I reside in a rural area which would, I'm certain, fall into the 'under served' category, I have
something to say about these poor young graduates who fall for this scam, as we have already wit-
nessed something akin to this program in the past. These people are never happy working in the
assigned communities & often do not serve out their' jail sentence'. Their attitude toward their pat-
ients is horrible, I'd say they operate at about 60% efficiency. They've lived in some city for 7 to 10
years during university & med school, so why would anyone think they could be happy in a town with
no Starbucks? They often turn to alcohol or drugs as an escape mechanism, becoming a burden to
the community they are tasked to serve. If they are male, their wives aren't happy, & if single, no dating
pool from which to choose. If they are not able to leave before, they always leave the minute their time
is up. It is a BAD idea, we'd be better off with no Doctors than these.
I'm beginning to think he was groomed to study Constitutional law by his handlers and mentors, inclusive of a certain Saudi prince who was his benefactor for Harvard Law and also by a bunch of Commies/Marxists/Leninists with whom he had aligned himself at college. Just so he'd know how to circumvent, undermine and shred it at every opportunity.
Mark Stein was subbing for Rush today. He said that the way Obama will save money is by denying treatment to a number of insured citizens and by lowballing on Medicare payments to doctors, hospitals, etc. Many doctors and hospitals are now denying Medicare patients because the government won't cover the costs of treatment and pay much later than insurance companies.
No, we need to allow the Republicans to take over because they are the lesser of two evils and then we need to change the Republican Party, not start a third one (which is what the Dems want). The face of the Repubs is changing already…Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Scott Brown, etc. I'm an Independent and I support these guys. The RINOS will either see the writing on the wall or their days are numbered. I think many of them are waking up.
If everyone votes for the same thing, why haven't the Republicans in the House voted for this…?
Sorry to bring logic into the Daily Hate, but there it is…
Who is "us"?
Ewwww….TROLL!!!!
Hit it with a Tea Chest….!!
God anon…is stupid…
What you said…
I want people's reaction to the word "Democrat" to be the same visceral reaction to, say, "child molester"…
Stop with your Obama cut taxes nonsense. He threw us chump change and that's only temporary. The Bush tax cuts run out at the end of 2010 so that's an automatic tax increase right there. Our insurance premiums have gone up in anticipation of ObamaScare and we'll have to pay additional taxes for 4 years for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. On top of that, he'll try to shove Cap & Trade through, which is a giant SCAM to make his donors and cronies billionaires at our expense: $3000 energy bill increase per year per family and $650 per year per individual, increase in gas prices to go along with it, talk of a VAT tax, etc. You need to get your head out of your ass.
Swing states or not, the DEMS will be on the UNemployment lines this fall…..they DO NOT care about our views on this debate, they just want to ram it through… look at OBLABLA, he is out CAMPIAGING on this….wait what am I talking about he NEVER stopped campaiging…..bwahahahahahahahha
I figured out were your name comes from, Annoy. So your parents must have known ahead of time, or you work for the administrator her at the web sight.
Aww, the little troll is so stupid, not only does he believe the "tax cuts for 95% bullshit, he also thinks 52.7% is a "landslide."
Like a typical unemployable leftist baby, he's thrilled at the prospect of sponging more Free Stuff from productive citizens.
"How many people are getting insurance through their jobs right now? Raise your hands. All right. Well, a lot of those folks, your employer it's estimated would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent [sic], which means they could give you a raise." (Applause.)
~From Obama himself in Strongsville, Ohio today
Isn't there some sort of law that rhetoric has to be marginally believable?
Thanks Tired I will be spreading this as I go along.
I made up my mind about this guy so long ago I have not followed the details. The Marxists I get , and have seen, but I was not aware of the Saudi Prince. What is your information on that? I think the guy who should be fully investigated is Soros. Never trust a billionaire "socialist." He was part of group recently shorting Greek debt. Now, Greece has all the progressive/socialist policies he loves- so why short them? I think he bets agaisnt where he knows the BS leftist policies will take governments and Central banks. Easy way to make a buck. Wonder if he is massively short the dollar?
My reply was deleted by Admin. Not sure why. What info do you have on Prince. My reply used the name of a famous left wing billionaore who is active in politics. can't believe that would be reason for deletion.
[...] POLLS: Swing districts oppose ObamaCare. [...]
Hope this is just the start of this sort of thing every time this global warming entourage hits the road.
I wonder what flavor of Kool-Ade the were serving today.
Ditto!
Don't know Paul Ryan.
Eric Cantor's loyalties are with Israel, not the US.
Scott Brown IS a RINO – how could you have missed that?
No, the GOP machine wants you to think they will change – they do every election year. They've only gotten worse.
What taxes were cut for 95%?– I'm assuming you are referring to some specific tax. I'd assume that taxes for those 40-60% of us that actually pay taxes have gone up on a net basis (they certainly will soon enough). Of note, I understand that Obama ran on health care reform, so I would expect you and others to be happy. However, never did Obama inform the public that he would pass health care reform that the public did not want, and he certainly never informed us that he'd pass unconstitutional laws. There is really no excuse for bypassing the constitution. If you and your friends want to "fundamentally transform American," you must do it by Constitutional amendment–if you can do it the right way, it would then be American-like, and not like some third-world dictator mandate. My guess is that the current bill passes, and after many more millions are spent, it will be deemed unconstitutional and We The People will be that much more in debt and you and the left will have nothing gained.
I'm simply worn out from listening to this lying sack of crap President and his toads in Congress. Isn't there any other LEGAL way to dump these buffoons off the train before their next election cycle. I would do ANYTHING to get these sick bastards fired tomorrow.
anon, you're a stereotypical liberal. No clues on any subject, but confident that you know everything. 53% is a bare pass, not a landslide.
The only consolation I have if this thing passes, is that there would come a time, sooner rather than later, when short-sighted twits such as yourself would go "Oh, *!@$! That's not what I wanted!". You'll all be getting the same Cuba-style health care that we'll be getting.
mega-ditto

Now that would take a lot! My fellow veterans in arms from the Naval side do not blush easily unless they are following in the footsteps of Massa.
"What taxes were cut for 95%"
Income taxes. Or if you didn't owe income taxes your payroll taxes were cut.
$400 for individuals and $800 for couples.
And you are correct that 95% of us benefited.
Now that reminds of the song, Wild West Show. It has verses about various creatures and one verse where the creature has a ball of iron and one of brass and when it swings through the trees they sound like orang-a-tang, orang-a-tang.
Won in a landslide?? You want to see what a real landside is look at 1980 and 1984! Reagan won by 9% in 1980 and 18 percent, carrying 49 states in 1984. You don't have a clue what a landslide is!

So simple Mjolnir, it can't possible make sense to a libs mind, there always has to be an agenda -
I prefer someone who chooses Israel over someone who chooses China, Iran, Venezuela, et.al.
Thanks Missy,
I couldn't understand those few comments that I've had blocked. Happened again today with the "sociaIist" word. Made the change and it went through fine.
What's the purpose of blocking that word? Who knows? But in honor of your fix, I'll just write:
sociaIist obama sociaIist obama sociaIist obama
sociaIist obama sociaIist obama sociaIist obama
That just feels good.
No anon is a TEABAGEE, one who receives!
Excuse me but you again are mistaken, nothing new there – what BO ran on what hate Bush, end the war, close gitmo and REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH!
Wrong answer, that was a prebate and once people have filed their taxes for 2009, they find they owe more than the 400-800 that they received.
God are you stupid!
Naw, it is short for anonymous because no one ever notices how brilliant he/she/it is in his/hers/its own mind.

You wouldn't have been mentioning SoreHoles would you?
I feel exactly the same way Frank, it's just tiring to hear the same lies over and over….
"53% is a bare pass, not a landslide."
Add to that it was a 53% win against john mclame. A RINO even more unelectable than Bob Dole. I'm quite sure that if the Republican ticket had only one name, Sarah Palin, obama would have gone down into the defeat that he so truly deserved.
Nope, the unions hire non-union workers for grunt work like protesting.

Yes. Why would that cause my post to be deleted? Maybe he has tentalces everyhwere. My point was don't trust a billionaire "socialist" and hi sshort bets on Greek debt are telling since they follow his progressive ideals. Which he apparently knows how to play for profit. Which raise a question as to which way he is betting on the dollar.
Yes and my reply to you just got deleted as well. I wonder if he is short the dollar? ( Although my post had a lot more details).
Oh well, Socialist is a bad word, and a worse political view of life, but it does describe Obama's policies!
Well now, socialist forever is my definition of Obama's policies. Guess "Big Government" not loves to have articles posted by anonymous authors but it also wants to protect we "Proles" from nasty words like the proper noun version of socialist.
Look, no one should be given a pass in this time that tries men's souls…the Congress took their eye off the ball, absolutely no doubt about that, and many should pay with their career for it…
And their should be a special circle of political hell for Olympia Snowe, (R), of Maine, for voting to allow this putrescent mass to move forward..and I sincerely hope the people of Maine insure she goes there…
But as push comes to shove, when it was time, "…to n_t up, or shut up…", as Woody Harrelson said in Zombieland, the Republicans of the House stood as one and said, "Absolutely NOT"…
As many Democrats have been offered the Moon and the Stars to vote FOR this, can you imagine the threats coming to the Republicans for NOT VOTING IN FAVOR of it, just to provide the Obama some political cover…?
Credit where credit is due…
Breitbart must have flipped over to the other side side of the political spectrum; protecting us all from ourselves.
He'll learn soon enough, though…
Wonder if Marxism is too much a naughty word for Big G?
Guess that word is OK but not other words related to Marxism! Is Marxist OK, I wonder?
Dems will indeed be voted out in droves if they pass this turkey. Dems who oppose it have a better chance to survive, since voters will remember that at long last they finally did the right thing for the country and listened to the voters.
But that does not mean the tea party wants this turkey to pass. Unlike typical republicans, we care about the country, not just defeating dems. And once this bill passes, however bad it is, it will be extremely hard to repeal, since the dems will then have the 60 vote senate requirement on their side, plus a veto threat from Obama. And it will indeed screw up the country for years to come.
Any idea as to the new censorship highs on the BigGovernment site? I have, and do again, ask the editor to explain why relevant posts, using family language, are being deleted?

Do they have a "Cleansing of America" in mind after this vote?……….? What will they do to get people to comply with something they so adamantly defy? Will they incarcerate them or will they exterminate them? It is a valid question, it is like an earthquake or volcano, it happens repeatedly throughout history!!! Millions at a time are not uncommon!!
If anon is Mikey-tollah as everyone suspects, then he's a retired Air Force officer living off of a very nice military pension.
Not only do swing discticts oppose the Health Care Hoax, the entire country does.
Guess we have to go ask the powers that be for Big G? So, I shall!
Cheers and remember, always, …..
