Friday Free For All: Can You Hear Me Now Edition
by PubliusOn Wednesday, President Obama traveled to St. Louis to try to revive his party’s push for government health care. Around 5,000 activists opposed to ObamaCare turned out, dwarfing the few dozen paid organizers from Obama’s Organizing for America. The activists for liberty keep making a difference, while the national GOP is indifferent. Grass roots activists and local radio talk show hosts begged RNC Chairman Michael Steele to get involved, but the RNC rejected their pleas. We guess people writing $25 checks aren’t important. (Even though, Michael, there are millions of them. Maybe your consultants just need to figure out how to take a cut of these small checks to make you guys interested.) Here’s who the national GOP left behind:

The GOP is useless. Damn.
Obama cant be anymore intellectually dishonest. A few dozen paid activists on his side and 5000 unpaid activists opposing him. How utterly pathetic our President is, yup like Obama said the American people want this. How could one not be disgusted!
I'm so proud to be from St. Louis. Two members of Missouri's Democrat Family (the Carnahan's) did not even show up to be seen with Obama, who is now know as King sadim, Midas backwards. Because everything he touches turns to sh!t.
I heard on Wall Street Journal (radio) this morning the GOP
is paying for billboards to be put up in some congressmen's
districts about healthcare…They used Palmeroy from North
Dakota as an example….Not defending the GOP, but I think
they may be getting mixed messages….Some of us say we
don't want them, and other's say we do…I know I get confused
at times….Are we better off having them be affiliated with us or
not….What do you think???
Guess they're not "fired up!" and "ready to go!" anymore. Poor babies….I guess the REAL patriots will just have to do.
The GOP needs a wake up call ! They just received it in MO. They better be listening or be deemed irrelevant.
No, the RNC just has a lack of leadership problem
Where was the lame stream media to cover the 5000 patriots? Hmm, I guess they're still too busy kissing the annointed ones's @$$! Pathetic, dishonet lame stream media. You are an embarrasment to this country and your profession. The likes of shultz, mathews, olbermann, madcow and the rest of the msnbc will see the light one day when their numbers dwindle below the obummer paid organizers!
Tempus_fugit,
The problem is a 3rd party will not work. In order to effectively govern our system REQUIRES a true majority. I can't support a 3rd party.
I am FURIOUS at the inept GOP, I am not giving them any money at all anymore, but in reality the Tea Party, while I agree with everything they say, right now they are just "Ross Perot" and I fear all we will get is more Oba-Mao…
I will not vote for a DEM, and i will only vote for as GOP who is truly conservative (I will not vote for a RINO).
But if they throw up Gingrich or some other RINO against Oba-Mao I fear we are doomed.
Macnvettes who also replied si right, the GOP's problem is leadership. We need a new strong CONSERVATIVE voice in the wilderness we can trust and support.
Macnvettes,
Agreed.
Clearly "We the people" are crying out for real leadership and finding none.
This link, http://www.thehopeforamerica.com/play.php?id=3324... really shows the difference between the great, intellegent, philosophy of Ronald Reagan and the hackneyed, puerile, blather of Barack Obama.
Not a fan of the GOP leadership either, but I am opposed to a 3rd party at this time. If conservatives can't win the GOP, can we win the nation at large? Just paves the way for Progressives.
We were too silent when the GOP went away from conservatism; it didn't happen overnight. It will take more than one election cycle to get back to it
The GOP has been useless since about 1996.
I'm so frustrated I could SCREAM….Americans are BEGGING for a strong, conservative leader and the RNC has its head up its ana1 orifice. What does it take to get a modern day version Reagan Republican?
It took a Carter to get a Reagan….Will it take an Obama to get a Palin?
The GOP needs to grow some stones, and start fighting back!!! There is no excuse for them to keep letting the Democrats get away with all their dirty tricks and them not come out with fighting words!
David I agree with all you said….We do have a handful in the GOP that
are speaking out and are conservative…I really like Michelle Bachmann
and Jeff Sessions. Jim Demint, Paul Ryan….I just wish more would speak
up and do the "right" thing…….
Support conservative candidates! Don't support the anointed GOP candidate just because of the fears of putting in a democrat. When you do that, you get the RINOs that you so abhor.
It's better to have an enemy in there that you know is the enemy than to have an enemy in there that is "on your side".
A prime example is what the GOP heads backing Dede Scozzafava in NY-23 during the special election last fall. The true conservatives backed the conservative candidate (with the personality of a rock) over the liberal GOP candidate. She eventually dropped out of the race and endorsed the democrat. And she had the backing of the GOP leadership!
In my view, if you have faith in the GOP, you're a fool.
What a picture
All of those broken windows and the burning cars, and did I see some pointy white hats in the back round? oh I'm pretty sure. How many arrests? must have been hundreds, clearly an evil crowd just look at their faces.
Yeah not really!
If a real American protests do they make a sound?
We have a lot of work to do to take back America, Scott Brown's election stopped them for what three weeks?
I'm looking forward to the elections but if the GOP wins big that would only take us to equal sides, R and D.
How much time do we have?
The GOP is chocked full of "progressives". They've ran them for the presidency in every election since Reagan.
I agree…A third party would be an OPEN door for Obumble to just walk
in again….In Nevada they have a 3rd party candidate…I hope this
won't give Harry a better chance to win his seat back, but I think it will…
and that would be tragic………

Senator Paul Ryan is looking like an excellent potential. He could whip Maobama's tush in a debate. And he honestly appears to be a true fiscal conservative.
I don't know why, I like Romney but he doesn't seem to get me fired up. And Huckabee? Nice guy, but…
You are correct that a third party is not the way to go and that is why we should support TEA.
The TEA party is not trying to be a third party but trying to shove the repubs in the direction
the people want which is conservative.
There are enough true conservatives in this country making our voice heard that the repubs have to listen.
If they do not and continue to front RINOS we will vote them out.
I agree, Paul Ryan looks good to me too….I liked Romney, and Duncan
Hunter the last go-round, but I lost all respect for Huckabee when he
released his votes in W Virginia to vote for McCain and that was the
straw that broke Romney's back…..Huckabee has a nice smile and a
friendly way about him, but I think he's a typical politician with a smile
on his face and a hand in your pocket…I like Romney too, but I think he
switches his opinions at a drop of the hat, he doesn't seem committed
to conservatism……
I am a resident of the dark blue state of Maryland.
When M. Steele was put in as head of the GOP I was extremely proud
but since then his panty waste leadership has made me extremely disappointed.
They were too busy covering the five "Coffee baggers" holed up in a basement somewhere and calling it "momentum."
None of them get me fired up except for Palin and i dont think she stands a chance
Michelle Bachman
The Time for Talk is Over IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN (Obama Care- "Humor")
My latest You Tube with all original "art". I introduced two new characters Tickle Me Barry and Nurse Racket.
Right now the Repubs are better than the Dems. The Tea Party must put pressure on both parties. I saw one clip of Tea Party in St. Louis on t.v. Terrrible coverage.
Now must do flash protests to pop up on all closed door and public photo ups of Obama and his cult.
Romney wants to be the popular guy, Huckabee wants to hug and love everybody. Paul Ryan is worth looking into it would seem so far. Spend some time on his website, I believe its called "A Roadmap for Americas Future".
I say we stick with the GOP. Also, I don't think we give them enough credit. It has been the GOP that has stood in the way of Obamacare for months. Why don't we give them a break and support them–as long as they don't just pay lip service.
thats sorta who i lean towards right now but……..
Funny, I've been talking about flash mobbing as a tool for about six months now but you are the first one other than myself to mention it that I know of…
I love the idea of having 2 or 3 hundred people show up at a local TV station protest for 15 minutes and walk away only to show up 20 miles away at some other venue…
The problem I have had is that WE have jobs so it makes it very hard to get people to show up in the middle of the day to do civil actions…
I like to call it the fecal touch.
For what little the GOP has contributed toward thwarting this Health Care Hoax, at times I believe they are complicit. It can't be both ways. If they support it, they ought to say so, if they don't, then they ought to do something relevant. Thus far they haven't. The GOP is still out of step, and the band is marching on. I believe Health Care will be defeated, and it will be through the actions and support of the grassroots movement.
I am amused that the last two places Obama gave speeches, PA and MO, the major politicians each running for re-election never showed up. There were three in each state that shunned him. That is telling………
The people – that is you and me, have the power.
Do not forget, this bill would already be law if it was not for us, the tea party demonstrations, the town halls, the calls to their offices, the blogs etc. etc. etc.
KEEP IT UP AND PRESERVE LIBERTY!
Illigitimi non-carborundum!
The more I see of her, the more I like her. Huckabee's just another Carter waiting to blur the distinction between Christianity and socialism. Romney–also-ran.
Don't count her out.
She scares them and there is a reason for that. Don't buy into their crap.
cardon,
That is the point. We need them to speak out more.
I also believe we need to keep showing up when they come to town, or showing up to voice our opposition when Oba-Mao's minions come to town.
I believe the "silent" majority allowed the current travesty in our government to come about SPECIFICALLY because we were silent. We cannot afford that anymore.
But until the GOP stops parading Newt and other RINO's as the solution and starts really championing what the Tea Party is saying I fear this will all backfire and simply splinter the opposition to Oba-mao, Reid, Pelosi, etc…
MOVING TO THE MIDDLE is what got us where we are now!
This post lacks context. What does it mean that the GOP and Steele left 5,000 people behind? What was it that people asked the GOP/Steele to do? If they wanted him to show up, maybe he had other plans (it it was strategizing to defeat Obamacare, I'm grateful). Not defending – just asking.
The TEA party needs to stick with CONSERVATIVES.
The GOP has stood in the way of Ocare because of TEA.
As to "give them enough credit"— look where they have gotten us
the GOP needs to pay attn. to TEA
I am not buying into their crap.
I just dont think she stands a chance right now
What do you mean lacks conext? There are 5 or 10 post on this site each day to add context.
The point is that the Republicans are not out there aggressively fighting for liberty but the people are.
Yes they are fighting but are they doing all they can? Why did they roll over and let the Christmas eve vote go down in the first place, they could have demanded to read the bill.
They need to step up, that is the point.
http://www.fox2now.com/news/ktvi-obama-opponents-...
But that is what I mean, she is by far the most popular candidate and I believe the one who could do the most damage to the statist at this time.
Why would you think she doesn't stand a chance? This is what they want us to think.
My wife told me Im not allowed to flash mobs
Seriously … some handcuffs need to some out … Corruption is so rampant in Government and the media and FBI are doing nothing …
so sad…..
Good-nite Constitution..
10 Admendment people .. it is that simple
Screw the whales! I love that photo, Grandma in the wheelchair with the tape on her mouth waving the don't tread on me.
Speaking of the useless RNC. This is precisely why each of us must fully vet any candidate they present. We need to quickly understand who is an American and who is a communist-progressive. If you come up short on a suitable answer around background, values, constitution, etc. then find a trustworthy neighbor to run.
It is telling isnt it.
I wish i had you faith it will be defeated but you are right it will only happen by grassroots
Paul Ryan is a Congressman, here in WI, lst District.
He wrote an 87 Page proposal for the Health Care Reform…. #1, it would comply with the 10th Amendment while Obama's would violate the 10th Amendment.
It "knits together" all problematic areas, taxes, jobs, Medi-Caid-Care, Social Securityy, the economy, etc.
He has worked with or oon all those related committees while in Ofc for 18 years. He's a "Keeper". Now if we had term limits, he wouldn't be around.
He said that after awhile, his program gets rolling, we'd all have the same choices for Health Insurance programs, the same choices that he has available as a US Congressman. And, eventually the Medicaid/Care programs would be gone and those peoples'/patients would be absorbed, possibly under the State Insurance umbrella, not Federal.
He believes in the Sovereignty of the State.
LOL
Got it…
Wish those 6 AWOL's would make Huge Statements against obama's lectures.
Thank God all of these people showed up. We have a huge Convention, including Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber this weekend, here in WI. 2 days!
KDS
LOL
He sounds like my type of politician. I like him a lot.
Remember what happened in 2006…
We must hold to our principles and let the Constitution and reason (not emotion) be our guiding force. And we must continue to be involved in the political process from the local level all the way up. Most importantly, it's imperative that we hold "the Fourth Estate" accountable. The Founders felt a free press was so critical to the survival of their (and our!) cherished Republic that they specifically protected it in the Bill of Rights. It is stunning how much the MSM has abused this right, and cozied-up to power and corruption, and willingly – ACTIVELY – suppresses, ignores and distorts vital information in order to "fundamentally transform" the Republic. Pravda in New York, Politburo in Washington … Tell me this is all a very bad dream…
red headed stepchild
When you say "they" are you meaning the oSlime a bots?
If you noticed i said she is the one to get me fired up
but right now i think she would have alot of work to pull the female vote and alot of the
center independants
I like her but right now i dont think she could do it
I have been a big supporter of Palin, but I think hippyconservat is right. As it stands, right now, Palin doesn't stand a chance of becoming President which is a shame. But we must face facts. I think, with some more experience and perhaps more maturity, Palin could be a formidible force at that level and she is right now within the GOP and Tea Party, but she is all over the place right now.
She is still young. She has time to develop. Margaret Thatcher was in her 50s when she became Prime Minister of England.
DaveGuy
I have been very impressed by John Boehner from Ohio. He has been standing up to the PTB and showing some stones.
i think rhs is talking about the gop
Most definitely. But the GOP is the only hope we have of circumventing the tragic policy coming out of the Dems right now. Also, the only way I can see a third party working in this country is from a ground-level up. Third Party must start at the grass-roots level politics and gain momentum that way.
If the Tea Party thinks it can by-step 1000 steps and be successful on the National level without the hard work of taking back local-level first then everything I know about how success works is wrong.
When I saw that picture I had a funny thought.
What if every TEA party person showed up at the same time and stood in Line to file for unemployment benefits.
They intend to put most of us out of work..but on their timetable…..so apply early and swamp their system.
They in DC would go bonkers and it would really screw up their March numbers.
So what if you are denied….they have to count the applicants either way.
[...] » Friday Free For All: Can You Hear Me Now Edition – Big Government [...]
But seriously,
I like the idea of just randomly showing up, make your voice heard and dispersing
multiple locations through out each state at the same time where you cant be overlooked
Lack of experience I see a a plus.
I do take both of your points, but respectfully disagree.
The left is very afraid of her and this is why they attack her so viscously. This is a sign we should support her.
Dan do you know if the picture on this article was from the actual Mo demonstration? I am curious
because I've never seen a group of demonstrators cordoned off along the front of buildings in a thin
line like this. Looks to me to be an effort to stifle their power of 'voice' & sense of camaraderie that
would normally sustain excitement in a group. When lined up in the manner this picture depicts it
would be hard, if not impossible to move around, thus tiring folks out more than usual. These
b@st@rds we are fighting know every trick in the book. Look at that photo & tell me it gives the im-
pression of 5K people, HELL NO. We need to get much much smarter with our effort. However I
do commend Mossouri'ans for their excellent turnout, & in no way do I mean to be critical of those
who came out for this demonstration.
Someone should set up a Flashmob Twitter Account. That sounds like fun…
Michael Steele and the GOP leadership are either lazy or stupid or both..They don't know where to be or what to do..just keep begging for $$.
Yea, he is one of about fifty or so that actually deserves to be there.
agreed
TPM should not try to be a third party but work with the gop
a 3rd party will only split votes
Harry, I would love to be wrong about this. I like Palin and love how she speaks directly to the People.
By experience I meant that she needs to be put her ideas in front of the People through debate and other means where her ideas are tested. She's quick witted for sure, but do we know she can stand up with the big boys on a regular basis?
Did you hear Reid is behind that 3rd party candidate, cause I did.
Cowboy Logic
I think the republicans made a statement at oBeDumb's faux bi-partisan meeting.
No republican is voting for this lie.
John Boehner—Michelle Bachmann – Paul-Ryan—and others are standing up and taking heat, so I believe there is some hope. They need letters and emails of support.
I am of a mind to support the candidate and not the party. I sent money to Scott Brown and I don't even live in that state.
Register with a party and vote in the primary..if you register D–then vote for their weakest candidate. If it's R then vote for the most conservative.
Hope you are correct and this bill dies..it is giving me an ulcer and anxiety.
RINOs need to be hunted to extinction!
We're living in freaking Zimbabwe, and Obama is our Mugabe.
i guess i need to figure out how to use a twitter
im lucky to be able to use a computer
lcd watches give me a fit
Huckabee is one of those Progressive Republicans that got us into this mess.
Me too!
Yes, I heard that too….Seems old Harry is welcoming the 3rd
party candidate with open arms…..
Just in the past 36 hours, I have gotten the feeling that this bill is dead. It grows stronger with each passing hour. Last night, Pelosi announced she will not vote on the Bill by March 18th. Ten minutes ago, it just came across the news that Obama has postponed his Asian trip. There is trouble in paradise.
Yep… Trouble the Dems have yet to mentally process…. Have you read Pat Caddell's and Doug Schoen's article on ObamaCare ? Its on Drudge this morning. Read it.. These are two VERY INFLUENTIAL DEMOCRAT pollsters who see the writing on the wall and mince NO WORDS ! Great article !
I think the real Republicans are confused about what to do next. First of all, some of them are older than the hills.. Second, many are corrupt, either for personal gain or for the States they represent. MSG TO OUR REPS: We the People are sick and tired of the special considerations that come with a yes vote for HC. Do what's best for America, not individual States, or in hindsight you'll wish you'd listened. If you won't protect the American People we will protect ourselves with your early dismissal from the Congress or Senate. Republicans like John MCCain and Lindsay Graham can bend over and kiss their Progressive a$$es goodbye come November, so, I'd not follow their lead if I were in your shoes!
WTH? *This comment has been deleted by the administrator
cardon, thx for reiterating the point of Huck back-stabbing Romeny. For the life of me I
can't understand why that FACT escapes so many.
Romney, I believe is a 'big picture' guy. While he would never be my first choice, mainly
due to his previous failure, we will need someone with his business acumen to work
on this mess we're left with in 2013. We may have a Dem House of Rep in 2013, so we
need to make sure he understands our stance as relates to compromise. It seems as
though that was his problem in Mass, as Gov.
Agree with you on Duncan Hunter, never understood why he got no traction. He had been
so good to take threats to our nation seriously after 9/11.
It was St Louis , check gateway and keyboard militia is a STL guy
Yes. That is telling.
I watched John LeBoutlier (sp) on Imus this morning on FOX business. He scorched Obama. The rumblings coming out of DC are going to turn into a deafening roar. It will be great entertainment watching the rats jump ship, as Captain Barry runs it aground.
We've seen this before. it was called Gilligans Island. I'll let you name what characters fit…….
O/T but I just had a thought you might appreciate, GS… Have you ever wondered what that Marine is thinking as Obama disdainfully salutes and passes him when leaving Air Force Two ? I think it is a very passionate F___ You. Asshole. I could be wrong…. hahahahahaha
Me too,………need more detailed info on her career.
She may be too soft spoken. Need to find her speak-
ing on the floor of the House to further evaluate. Her
head is definitely in the RIGHT place.
Why do you keep deleting my posts? "This comment has been deleted by the administrator" Are you cutting off my free speech? How about an explanation instead of acting like Washington and pretending I don't exist? I expected better from this site. This post will be deleted, too, but, not before at least a few ppl see it. That's how corruption is rooted out… a little at a time.
I want to know more about Ryan also. I would love to see more of him, didn't Hannity interview
interview him this week? I tuned in late, so missed most of his remarks. What little I did see
impressed me. He was articulate, relaxed, unpolished. Unpolished is a big one for me, how-
ever it may be the one quality which disqualifies any candidate for others. IMO, Romneys prob-
lem is he, appears too polished. Have noticed he's working on it.
TheRightSide
I would give the Marine's, that have to face him, Oscars for their acting ability.
Michael Steele is much too busy hustling his book to be bothered with us. My support will go directly to the candidate(s). Want an energized and focused RNC? Put Sarah Palin in charge.
I'm not GS, but I have wondered the same as you about that Marines thoughts.
I think the "Huckster" gets away with it cause he is a Republican Bill Clinton…He
seems so nice, it's hard to believe he'd stoop to be a typical politician….lol…
I agree about Romney, I just wish he would stick to Conservative principles more!
And, I do agree, we'll need someone that knows what budgeting and finances are
all about……
I always liked Duncan Hunter, Bob Dornan and Duke Cunningham….I miss Bob
Dornan's firey speeches on the floor of Congress…Cunningham was a
complete shock to me when he got indicted…I wonder why Dornan is so quiet now…
It would be great to see him being a spokesmen….He had no fear about telling the
truth!…Sorry for regressing…lol….But Duncan Hunter brought back memories of the
other two Californian congressmen…They used to get on the floor after hours and
the 3 would have some great discussions!
Do you not see the furious battle taking place in congress, with GOP voting unity in evidence?
We must stay united and focused. The DEMS love it when we attack ourselves.
Harry, you're my new BF, for your question, "Why did they roll over and let the Christmas Eve vote
go down in the first place, they could have demanded to read the bill". We MUST get to the bot-
tom of this point. I'm not sure why or how this happened, & I have been unable to confirm my
suspicions, but I think the lovely Kay Bail-out Hutchinson, cast her vote incorrectly, when voting
for whether to read the full bill, or not. It is my understanding she voted with the Dems. Only one
place I have heard this, & the media never asked her during her Gov campaign, or any other Sen-
ator for that matter. There is a radio guy out of Lubbock Tx, Robert Pratt, very conservative, who
either spoke about it or had it on his website. He does mostly local & Texas politics, the 'inside
baseball' stuff since he's been trying to push his local party apparatus to the RIGHT for years.
Publius, please respond to provide evidence for your assertion condemning Michael Steele and GOP leadership in this instance.
Dont just be a "mud thrower".
We are super-proud of St Louis for their activism against Obamacare, but why use this glorious citizen demonstration to attack ourselves?
G t E, wonderful,…….please don't neglect to report back to us,
I'll be with ya'll in spirit.
RNC Chairman Steele — Please Go Away
I am tired of hearing about you. Please GOP, replace him post-haste, please. No MSM covered this. So we are on our own.
Tired of your fat speaking fees you get, when you are suppose to be speaking for the GOP. Tired of you spending the GOP funds to live your lifestyle. Go away. Donors are leaving in droves, and we need donors.
http://bunkerville.wordpress.com/2010/03/12/rnc-c...
gs clever thinking, we need more of it in this battle.
Mmm, see cornpone below.
Sure they are voting almost in unity on this stuff, but this is just what is expected of them, this is the least they hould be doing. I want more!
she could handle it, she might work herself to death, but she would not fail.
Yes I can vouch for the pic's. I don't have much of a problem with the way the crowd was handled, STLPD did a good and even handed job. The reason for the way they were cordoned off is because it was in the heart of downtown, no plazas were close.
Steele was an idiot in Baltimore and he is an idiot now.
Have you ever seen the radical left lined up like this,
as if standing in line for concert tickets???
Dirty underhanded politics at it's best. However if it works for ol Harry,
it may be a lesson for some on the RIGHT, who continue to call for a
3rd party.
The GOP has been co-opted by the Big-Govt nanny statists. Bush was one, McCain is one, Graham is one.
There might be 5 actual conservatives with a spine in congress today, everyone else is just a limp-wristed douche.
The sooner conservative principles retake the GOP, the better.
"Here’s who the national GOP left behind:"
—
Old white people?
Tears come to my eyes when you mention Dornan. I will never understand how they
silenced him, but my suspicion is it came from R Party headquarters. Hope they didn't
convince him he was hurting the party, but I fear it is so. He WAS definitely fearless.
He told tales 'out of school', & I loved it. Hope he writes a book some day. He would
be a perfect TEA party adviser, due to all his hard fought battles in the political arena.
I would buy a CD of those discussions they had on the floor, they were amazing.
Not a surprise, hopefully we'll have monkey stew, after 11/2010. MM..mm..GOOD!!
Here is a very prescient video from way back in 2006 about… well… how the chickens are gonna come home to roost for our economy and why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfascZSTU4o
Do not forget to pay attention to Art Laffer (who I like, but… lord was he ever wrong or smugly blind) and the host (who's name escapes me right now). I am old. That happens.
You know, he's a snappy dresser, but I haven't seen any strong take charge type of actions by him. He appears to always make sure that some one(s) is following him. A leader goes forth and does what needs to be done without worry about who's following him. I think he's a talented leiutenant type, not the General, lead from the front type that would yell "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead".
Politico is reporting that clownish and gaffe prone RNC chairman Michael Steele is blowing through millions in donor funds like a drunken sailor, by spending much more than previous chairmen on such necessities, as private jets, private limousines, flowers, fancy hotels and expensive meals from Wolfgang Puck. Apparently donors are outraged at Steele’s spending spree, with one GOP donor calling him an “imperial chairman,” living the good life on their dime.
Just this month for example, the RNC was flush with new donor dollars of more than $10 million, but Steele managed to blow through it all on the RNC’s annual meeting held in Hawaii, and an elegant Christmas party held at the Washington’s Newseum, catered by chef Wolfgang Puck’s local crew.
One fundraiser told Politico that Steele fancies himself presidential material:
“According to Politico, expenses have skyrocketed, particularly on lavish meals, since Steele took over the RNC:
Read elsewhere that donors are starting to pull out

Thank you for expressing that wonder_all, the beating up of the GOP is a waste of energy and is misplaced.
United we stand, divided we fall – pretty damn simple and clear -
Cuz he's so educated and aware, thus we really care what he says! ha
That's a silly and overreaching statement zebo – we all know who the true conservatives are and those that play the progressive game, don't sell anyone here short ~
Of c ourse harry is welcoming in the 3rd party, any thinking person understands the stategy behind this game -
After two and a half years of taking their best shots and shutting them down without breaking a sweat? She can make a facebook post of a couple senteces and rock the WH on its butt, she's done it repeatedly. That kind of stand up to the "big boys"? Obama wouldn't last 30 days under the kind of hype and microscope she' been put under. And she has thrived in that environment.
I ticks me off to see the people who are her ideological base being convinced by the lame stream and each others mantra. That's the kind of crap sheeple on the left do. Harry's got a couple of great points as well.
if I understood correctly, sanfranan went after Hillary,
not surprised she would try to take Palin out. She
may think SHE can run for Prez, you know they do
live in a bubble, although I don't understand how
she could ignore her polls.
To be fair, I think the biggest obstacle with Palin is the female vote, and you simply cannot underestimate that vote. I have respected her from the beginning and moreso watching her stand tall with all the vile hatred hurled her way.
I personally just cannot stomach Huckabee – I don't trust him one bit – he comes off as the kind of guy more worried about being friends than standing on principle.
Ok. Where is Palin's policy on anything? I don't mind having this debate. I'd like to see her come up with a comprehensive policy on how she plans on turning this country around. And, while we are at it, I'd like her to use more real facts in her speeches.
I agree, America does need to have a cheerleader and Palin is GREAT at that. She does promote a positive perspective of our country and I love that. But, "where's the beef?"
As long as Palin is content doing Leno and giving feel good speeches without real substance, she will give the MSM legitimate criticism that will resonate with voters.
AMEN!
Well said sir!
I can only hope and pray the GOP leadership is listening…
Not sure why or how it happens Lisa, but it's NOT an assult on your free speech, it's a glitch ~ it happens to all of us, nothing personal.
Hmmm, and yet I wonder -

To be honest, i think the demonstration is more effective without GOP or RNC involvement.
Time to "sack up"!
Bingo!
What does she need that we haven’t already seen from all the career plutocraps that have run our country into the ground? An Ivy league accent and diploma? Career politicians back 8 generations on both sides of her family tree? Bootlegging millions backing her family’s politics? Big biceps? An academy Award? Maybe a Nobel peace prize? How about a body count list of her “friends” that have had “accidents” that is in the hundreds?
Maybe a birth certificate? Maybe being the governor of a state for 3 years? Maybe fighting corrupt plutocracies since the inception of her political career as a mayor? Maybe experience as a small business owner? If we’re ever going to return to a Constitutional Republic governed by “We the People”, she’s the kind of “We the People” that I want representing me and mine. That is the type of people that is supposed to be running this country, not seventh generation politicians that have never done anything but suck on the government tit. Nuff said. Next time I’ll tell you how I REALLY feel.
Hehe, don't hold back.
I'm just giving some tough love, here.
It's those nice guys that'll get ya . . . . right between the shoulder blades.
Not soon enough. We need to be picking them off, now!
They aren't. We're going to have to take the party back from them starting at the precincts, or consign them with the Dems to the dustbin of history, through operations like GOOOH.com
Yup. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Honestly, I don't want to believe that is true, Common. If Palin could come out looking strong, I think she would get a lot of the PUMAs and a good portion of Conservative women.
Sadly, a lot of women–especially the young women–base their vote of Choice. As if women should be SO proud that we can kill our children in utero. It makes me sad.
Amerikan dictatorship.
Yep the GOP are showing no real leadership – but that's why the tea parties exist. Politicians will only work to their own advantage – the tea parties are working to the peoples advantage!
I now there are some police officers in Washington state that paid the ultimate price for a politician's Progressive views.
I would rather get stung by a killer bee,…..
than vote for Hucka..bee/
A traitor in your camp is more dangerous than the enemy at the gate. We'll never be able to win when we always have to be watching our backs.
Gonna be seeing her tomorrow, at the Rally.
I don't relish believing it either, but I believe it to be true – I find she does have the conservative women by and large, just can't quite get the kiddies on board and forget the libs, the are the most delusional bunch out there – how they supported hillary made me sick!
Your chances for survival are a lot better.
Michael Steele: wrong man,…..wrong job,….wrong time.
Bet, his parents dressed him as a girl.
That's what I'm takin 'bout!
Though it's a small thought, I'm sending the following (with llink to this page) to info@gop.com:
"Your forgetting them means you're forgetting me:

What a great way to spend a Saturday!…Have a great time!!
We guess people writing $25 checks aren’t important.
No need to guess. The RNC has proved that for decades. I had a lively discussion on my blog a couple of years ago about this. Attending their chapter meetings or offering to help is all well and good as long as you bring money and lots of it. "You don't have money? Well, aren't you a dear! We'll call you if we need you."
And that's the dirty little secret of the RNC and the GOP: they may espouse whatever fiscal and social policy that seems reasonable for the businessman and family, but will do precious little to actually foster their ideology on practical levels.
Where was the GOP's investment in and visionary acuity in the people who actually supported their ideology by making it work in the real world? We proved the success of conservative policy and meritocracy by the sweat of our brow and work ethic. The GOP took it all for granted.
A pox on their power-hungry, self-propagating short-sightedness. The only thing they've left us with is the only power we have: our vote. Lucky for them it's a peaceful option.
Don't box us in, there's only four political boxes and we're almost up to number three: Ballot, Soap, Jury, Ammo.
I Love Michelle Bachman!!
What a relief I thought they were reading my mind!
Wussbags!
I live in WI and have heard nothing about this convention… what is it? Where is it?
Nancy has already sent her flying monkeys after her.
I saw SEIU guys and girls with the TP protesting Obama
I was just listening to the news on the radio and heard that Senator Reid's wife will be OK following an horrific accident yesterday. (I'm glad to hear she will be fine.) But knowing how these people work, I wonder how long it will be before Reid happily uses this accident as an example of why we need Obamacare… "My wife is lucky. I'm lucky. Everyone in this chamber is lucky. The President and his family are lucky…. We have the best health coverage in the world. But there are so many Americans that have nothing, and I hate to think what they would have done in my wife's situation. I want – and the President and Speaker Pelosi want – all Americans to be secure in knowing that if they are ever in a car accident, they won't be turned away at the emergency room door because they don't have insurance…" (Of course, if Obamacare passes, there may not be any quality emergency rooms or hospitals to treat any of us!)
The only reason the RINOs aren't voting for the Healthcare bill is fear. Make them fear for their political lives, and the next time they cross the isle, don't let them come back.
We heard her say Nancy the Gross was after her, so we sent her a donation…
If Nancy is against her, that speaks volumes….She must be getting in the old
witche's hair…..lol
omg, can't believe this………..Has he turned into a R Jesse Jackson?
agree, if they cross the isle, don't let them come back. Start with prissy sissy Lindsey from SC.
That's a silly and overreaching statement zebo – we all know who the true conservatives are and those that play the progressive game, don't sell anyone here short ~
ALERT!!!!! savage just said Texas school book board went CONSERVATIVE all the way!!!!!!!!!!
HUG A TEXAN……….the left-wing blogs are on fire, he said.
Dave, agree, too tentative, always looking to make
sure someone is available to back him up.
Somehow I thing the GOP is way behind in the money game, the Dems/libs/progessive head cases have Soros and his neverending supply of money! We all have an idea of how much funding all the fringe groups bring in, add in the unions and for God sake how does one combat that flood of money?
Good point about demanding to read the bill. Do you know if this was a real option and what prevented it?
They always sent out those questionnaires that require a donation to process it. I have always attached a pretty lengthy list of my own on the scratch paper I have here at the house and mail it back to them saying “Grassroots” is not a gardening term. They know what our beef is and they know what we want or they can figure it out by reading their (e)mail. It’s pretty easy… and almost free, I tell ten friends and those ten friends tells ten… Oh, if only they would listen. Meanwhile George Soros continues to buy up cases of prepaid MasterCards and Visa to hand out to their fine little minions to contribute to their local candidates. Still waiting for that list of contributors under 200 from the O… hum.
I like Sarah Palin.

yes the left is afraid of her
that is part of the reason they attack her
the other part is her being a bright, attractive,no nonsense female who is not fawning
over obummer.
I do support her and depending on who else gets thrown in the mix i may vote for her if i believe she is the best person.
To be called a sheepel as another poster has or to be accused of bending to the lefts view
because i have my own mind "ticks" me off
