Scott Brown Joins Democrats to Support ‘Jobs’ Bill
by PubliusFrom the Associated Press:

A bipartisan jobs bill cleared a GOP filibuster on Monday with critical momentum provided by the Senate’s newest Republican, Scott Brown of Massachusetts.
The 62-30 tally to advance the measure to a final vote on Wednesday gives both President Barack Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats a much-needed victory—even though the measure in question is likely to have only a modest boost on hiring.
Brown and four other Republicans broke with GOP leaders to advance the measure. Most other Republicans voted in favor of the filibuster because of strong-arm tactics by Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada. The bill is likely to enjoy far broader GOP support on Wednesday when it’s put to an up-or-down vote.
The bill featured four provisions that enjoyed sweeping bipartisan support, including a measure exempting businesses hiring the unemployed from Social Security payroll taxes through December and giving them another $1,000 credit if new workers stay on the job a full year.

Ut-oh….
Oh, yeah, I'm hiring someone new for $1K of a tax credit plus SS payroll – that won't even cover my time for the federal/state paperwork to bring on a new hire. That's just the thing, Senator Brown, to convince me that I'm going to have enough new business to justify hiring new employees.
I’m really disappointed about this; he’s already bending to them. Spending money won’t make jobs, I thought he understood this.
Folks its a win win situation. Why u ask? Well because, he said the last stimulus bill didnt create one new job. If he votes for it it will give the gop cover and if it doesnt add jobs he can stand up and defend his statement about no new jobs. This way he can tell the dems, hey you lied to me why shouldi vote for any of your new bills. Look at the big picture not just his vote
Time to fire up a money-bomb campaign to defeat Scott Brown in 2012!
If he won't listen then he is just as bad as the rest of the proggies…
STRIKE ONE.
Thanks a bunch, Scott McCain….
Isn't that special!
Let's DEFEAT Obamacare. It's a TRILLION DOLLAR, abortion funding machine, care rationing, albatross that will effect all of us.
This is a side show.
This guy campaigned on DEFEATING Obamacare & National Security.
This is a side show, a bad bill and a waste of money – but let's keep our collective eyes on the prize – winning back the House and Senate, then taking down Ocommunist in 2012.
After 3 strikes, you'll vote for the next RINO.
The best candidate in the MA race was Joe Kennedy – he was more Republican than Brown even though he ran as an independent.
My name is Scott Brown and I have a problem……"I now believe we can spend our way out of this financial mess were in".
I had hoped he was going to help I know see I was wrong. The only way were gonna come out of this mess is to help small businesses by cutting and slashing taxes, Kill all the useless government agencies and regulations that make it imposable for us to compete with the rest of the world. I don't care who you are Rep/Dem if you vote for something that means you stand for it!!! We as Americans should watch and hold them to there promises and also punish them for there corrupt actions.
"hey you lied to me"? Isn't this one of those fool me twice shame on me situations? Maybe his argument is that the vote was just representing his constituency, but if he doesn't understand that the government doesn't create jobs unless the government gets out of the way (by lowering taxes and regulation) – then please switch parties now because you've just been found out Mr. Brown.
If I was a Mass. voter I'd be fuming right now.
Just saw this on the main breitbart site and all I have to say is BOOOOOOOO!!!
Brown's just another regressive N.E. RINO like Collins or Snowe. I know… what should we expect? Still, it sucks!
Considering he is somewhat of a RINO but the best you can possibly hope for out of Taxachusetts, this bill is being sold as infrastructure speding and tax cut bill. So… it's not THAT bad. This is strike one, though. He's being romanced by the left, i wonder if he'll fall like John McCain. They'll wine and dine him but when it hits the fan, they'll drive a dagger through his spine.
Scott Brown just said: "Yes Massah."
"eyes on the prize" is right…. and the only thing that keeps me sane.
What the phuq was the $800 Billion stimulus for if not jobs? Why do we need another jobs bill? Because the bottom feeding thieves and liars fleeced us for nearly trillion and could barely muster a straight face when they said it was to "help the economy." It was to fill the coffers of the union parasites and wall street whores. Now they're scared that taxpayers are waking up to the fact that they got screwed so Reid and the other leftwing malcontents want to actually throw us a bone in hopes we'll shut up and not notice another raping via nationalized healthcare.
My God, this is indeed the era of stupidity and unbridled govt corruption.
America, vote out every democrat socialist sack of shyt in November.
TRAITOR
This is almost irrelevant compared to whether the GOP will support another Taxachusettes RINO in the Presidential Primaries.
Well, now we know where he is going to stand!!!! I wonder how many more will lie to get elected this year!!!!
We must hold their feet to the fire!!!
So I hire someone, and it costs me tens of thousands of dollars for about 11 months. The guy turns out to be a dirtbag towards the end of this time. He knows that after 12 months, he's gone, so he becomes unproductive. He has now become a little one-man union.
Yeah, I know $1000 isn't much over the grand scheme of things with this scenario, but it is an example of the government getting into things it shouldn't.
MR. Steel, MR. Gingrich, MR. Huckabee;
How's the big tent thing working out for you?
Did you watch Beck at CPAC?
—-"Its not enough to suck less then the other side"
To most of you, it's as if you're truly surprised that anything had actually changed.
The salvation of this country belongs outside D.C. and doesn't have a damned thing to do with what goes on in it.
I reserve my right to withhold judgment for a while.
It's poss he may turn out to be another RINO but it is also poss
he is picking his fight.
Another republican con-man. Immediate following [not before] his acceptance of being elected Senator, Brown informs the national audience he "owes it all to John McCain". Nice, con-job!
Yeah, WHATEVER! I expected this from Brown. Don't misunderstand, I am still glad he won, and I'm not disappointed with this (his FIRST!) vote. Again, I expected (something like) it.
Did any of you really think he was/is conservative? His issue was to stop Obamacare (i.e. "elect me!). Tear the flesh from his bones AFTER he f***'s that one up. He will decide (be persuaded?) shortly as to where "his" interests lie.
Dems will promise to back off in order to buy his (somewhat reliable) vote, and then they will savage his ass in 2012 so as to replace him with another 'bot. Stop Obamacare, that is all he needs to do… Impede the "progress" of the New Socialists for just a little while and you are okay in my book (for what you are) Mr. Brown.
A new day is possible if we work hard for it.
Anybody up for that?
I wouldn't go so far as traitor but ill advised. Scott must always remember that the left are vermin and no legislation they peddle is designed to help the average American.
Yep! He's out if he continues….
he does have some splanin to do but im gonna withhold my judgment for awhile
Full of that Hopey Changey stuff about now.
Probably starting to smell like elephant shyte.
More fuel for the fire…this man was elected through donations that came from across the USA…people wake-up, if they have a R or D behind the name, it equates to LIES LIES LIES LIES.
And many more to come!
Could not have said it better myself Jamesb! And this time this vision is gonna come true! I feel it in my bones!
I'd like to think he is that smart, but after being there for a week, he isn't that savvy.
I think if we start a fund raising campaign committee, to explore recalling him, he "might" change his ways…
I must admit, I was concerned a bit that he would be, being from Mass. and all.
Don't complain when a Senator from Massachusetts votes in a way that you are not inclined to vote. If Republicans could carry their own water in states they should win (North Dakota, Arkansas and Montana for example), things would be different. Having a Senator from Ted Kennedy's seat that is with you more than half the time has to be though of as a bonus.
Who were the other RINO's that voted their re-election away?
UNPATRIOTIC JERKS
Back to the drawing board, conservatives.
I agree with most of what you said except for keeping our collective eyes on the prize. I take that to mean the house and senate. And I even agree with that a little (because the progressives have to go). The prize to me is having honest politicians from different walks of life debating real things and every single one of them backing the constitution. Instead what we have now is a bunch of idiots so far removed from the people they wouldn't know snipe hunting from sheep herding. Corruption and lies are just S.O.P. in Washington. So we have to make examples of anyone who votes for anything that hurts the people. I feel sorry for the people in Mass. that voted for him he just let them down.
They just don't get it….you would think it would like a kindergarten primer! Duh!
I agree to the extent that you have a longer range view of things.
Instead let's USE Brown as a means to an end. Let's leverage him against real socialists and when a solid majority of the kind of people you want are representing US, and I would like to see that soon – we either jettison him or he gets back on the reservation.
Long range – long term sucess…that's the goal.
This year don't wait for anyone to tell you to show up on April 15th in Washington DC….
"WE THE PEOPLE" own that damn mall!
Don't wait for Beck or Dick Armey or Laura Ingraham or Michelle Bachmann….
Don't wait for ANYONE to announce it to you because you'll feel better about going there!!!
GO!!!
This is your chance to do something that has NEVER been done in our history by the American people…
Shut down Washington DC ENTIRELY with five million people!!!
It's time to lay siege to Washington DC!!!
We could be there for weeks!!!
Fire up your email and telephone trees and let's make this happen on April 15th!
He stopped the ObamaCare train in its tracks and you all loved him.
He would never vote for health care reform, TARP or Porkulus.
Now you throw him under the bus? Already? For voting on jobs?
If it doesn't work, then at least it was money better spent than on ACORN or some Al Gore Green Sh!t job!!
Brown BEAT BARRY AND MARTHA and we need to be a little more tolerant of a MA republican. It's a LOT better than having Teddy in that seat!!
This bill is NOTHING compared to the huge spening bills Obama has pushed.
Sheesh.
This made me ill hearing this today. I cannot say that I didn't have a feeling he had that possibility in him. I had heard he had some lib leanings in the state legislature….soooo….here we go! Its not the miracle we had hoped would change in Congress. At least if he holds back on Obamacare…that will help! And maybe his constituents will come unglued on him fore this!
Not a jobs bill, just adding to Berry's slush fund and well ya know he owes Andy Stern 60 mill + the American population so he still has a lot of work to do.
That is a nice idea.
Lay seige to DC for weeks.
Have our own little lunch counter "sit-in" circa. 2010.
It's been floated – it's not my notion – that Obama benefits from a GOP controlled Congress.
He'll go "Harry Truman" on us with a "Do nothing Congress" mantra – or is it madras – and that's his gimmick.
He'll sacrifice the DemocratSS in the house and Senate in a heart beat to be reelected. Self preservation is #1
Thanks jamesb for echoing my sentiments.
And "Blah, Blah"… Brown TOLD the people in MA that he was not always going to tow the Republican party line.
We ALL knew this. He made no secret of it.
The people in MA are not "let down." There are thousands of unemployed construction guys who have lost their benefits. (I know many of them as I was in the trades in MA for years.)
Brown beat Coakley by promising them he'd bring home jobs.
Like jamesb said, Brown was the beginning – let's keep our eyes on the prize. This isn't even a ripple in the heavy seas we're about to face this fall. Batten down the hatches.
Slick Willy had the benefit of a GOP Congress… that angle concerns me, also. It wouldn't surprise me if Rahmrod Deadfish isn't pushing this strategy intentionally.
No I understand completely what your saying…and I also know what I just described is fantasy land. I just cant help having because thats the design of our constitution. Corrupt people will always be around and we will always have to defend against it. And right now we have our hands full with countless losers trying to destroy our country. It tears me up that we just can't get some honest people in politics…sigh
CL, ou're one of my favorites here, but in my opinion, Borwn said, "Yes, Mass."
This is no big deal. We don't need to destroy Brown or toss him into the rubber room with Snow or Collins.
I'm with you on all of that.
He stopped ObieCare just by winning MA. If it comes back up, like regurgitated bile, he already said he'd vote against it.
Everyone needs to chill on this…including me.
So your sayin he's better than Coakly, and a sharp stick in the eye?
Be heartened. There are active recruitment drives aimed at getting some fresh blood into the GOP. I think the TEA Party will pay BIG dividends. See Col. West in Florida. That is a really talented man, he should do well in his Congressional race in Florida.
With the tide flowing the "right" way, there are many qualified, electable candidates stepping up.
I've never been a "term limits" guy, but I'm starting to rethink that one. Congressional pay and bennys need to be CUT 50% RIGHT NOW! Those people get in and it takes a case of dy-no mite! to get them back out. That's not what the Founding Dad's had in mind.
Is it legal yet to carry a handgun in D.C. or is it still one of the more restrictive police states?
I am not judging Brown 100% as of yet. But for his first big vote, he just swung me 50% against him. I understand that posture and manuvere are all fine arts of politics. Time will tell. I agree with you regarding tossin him aside completely, or putting him in their category, yet. Snow, Collins, McCain, Graham and the rest of the gang of goons are lost. There is nothing they could ever do to allow me to have a positive opinion of them.
Sit-in, hell!
I'm talking about absolutely preventing any section of the city operating anywhere near "business as usual"!
We need to bring 100,000 giant base drums and pound them in unison 24 hours a day for as long as we are there!!
Think "Lord Of The Rings"….
Let's look for his daughter's video on youtube and crucify her in the comments section.
Come On, CL and Lorben, you guys act like he's from SC or GA, he's from MA for godsakes!
He accomplished a lot of good by beating Coakley and Obama in Boston. He said, time after time, that he would vote in his states interest.
Well, they need construction jobs. They have cement crumbling off their overpasses onto cars and the only solution has been NETTING.
Cut some slack and let the guy bring a few jobs home.
In comparison, this bill is a splinter in your finger, while Obama tries to shove a phone pole up our backsides!
I think we have to keep some perspective on it, and I like the idea of thinking of him as the most liberal senator in the 2015 senate. That would be an achievement but 2010 is what's key right now. We can't pass judgement so quickly like the lefties do when they hear the words "free market" and start having panic attacks. He has to stand on principle of the big things over the long term.
Sorry that I don't agree with he just wasted tax dollars on a plan that wont work or help. It will help bump up our deficit though. And its more of the same crap hes been there a short time and he's already voted for wasteful spending. Sorry are you trying to tell me that the government can create anything even closely related to a real private sector job ? And yes I'll bet alot in Mass are fuming.
OK – that's it. F all politicians. I've been self employed for over 20 years. Don't get unemployment if I don't get work, don't get chit from anyone. If I don't get off of MY butt – I don't make any money – PERIOD. Politicians could care less about me or the millions of people like me. Pay people to sit on their butts – sure – why not?
Screw all of them. I'm on my own & will survive – despite these idiots who get and give all of our hard earned dollars.
This country is on a crash course to failure. Thanks Blammer voters – RINO voters, and others that have voted for this countries demise.
All that fall into this category can kiss my white, self employed, 16 hour a day working, arse.
Give them an inch, they want a mile.
Will this be like some of those "jobs created or saved" type of category?
No i'm saying we deserve better. Don't you think we do?
Amen brother. This doesn't surprise me at all, he echoed "bipartisanship" several times during the campaign. We just need to continue to put in some solid conservatives in November to win back the house and senate. Let's see how he is truly vetted in the meantime, kind of early so maybe he may work out and if not, vote him out the same way he was voted in.
Snow and her Rino sister in arms need to go as well. McCain needs to go as well as Lindsey Graham. We can't just focus on democrats. There are some RINO's that need to be exiled as well.
I don't know about Lord of the Rings.
That 24 hour drum pounding; will that be like the Kenyan War Dance, or Swahaili Rain Dance?
I think I get the picture………
lmao, we won't ever be able to get rid of the Rudy McRomneys
Thanks for the discussion James I enjoyed it.
I'm feeling ya dude. The main prize is November. Some of our conservative brothers are understandably mad but we are not liberals so we will regain our focus. One great thing about conservatives is that we are long suffering, with long memories. We brought him in, we can work to take him out.
Without a gun "registered" in DC with accompanying proof of residence, no.
I'm wondering if Brown would have voted for the $85 billion dollar jobs bill, as opposed to the $15 billion dollar stripped down Harry Reid version?
Ugh, if I had a magic wand, or just a trap door in front of a desk – we'd be rid of Snowe, Collins, Lindsey (ya think he got his ass kicked some? Lindsey) and John "I believe in global warming(?)" McCain and lucliky a few others are heading for the exit this fall.
Like I said, let's USE Brown, turn this thing around. He's running in 2012. The GOP can back him or cut him loose and let him find his own way…it's up to him.
Absolutely my pleasure. Thank you.
They still haven't spent all of the first stimulus, they are using the repaid TARP as a slush fund for Dems in tough campaigns and they need to borrow another $15B?
I'm always amazed at the number of times people have to learn that the person who they are so excited about being newly elected is no different than the guy before them. I feel like we go through this every cycle.
Remember this when people start to talk about Palin for president; that she supported the bailout, patriot act, and wasteful/useless wars.
Shaking up the system is not putting in someone from the other side every four years.
"Yas sir, Mr. wldbil". I've said it about five times this thread – let's USE Brown as a means to an end – flipping the Senate and blocking Obama junk like he said he would.
He's a Massachusetts Republican fer gawds sake – I bet he has pix of FDR, Wilson, and "Bubba" Clinton on his underwear – I don't care right now – lets DEFEAT OBAMACARE!
Like the giant war drums that were used by Roman soldiers to scare the crap out of their enemies…
There's a specific cadence 1234, 1234,12,1234,1234,12 ……
Very rattling when there are 1000 but if there were 100,000….
Mind numbing and incredibly unnerving…
By God you've got man!
The End justifies any means…
I was just messin wit you man…
LOL
I still think he has jammys with feet and they're covered with red stars and little pix of Smilin' Mao!
De rigueur for ALL Mass. pols!
Maybe we really shouldn't expect a different answer ,when we keep putting in the same person in office over and over again.
Ya whatever.
You can make excuses all day for wealth transfers from producers to others.
At the end of the day its redistribution liken to welfare.
So just shut your effin cakehole.
You don't seem to be too "fired up" tonight JK.
Both parties love to borrow and spend. Looks hopeless until Nov. doesn't it?
It's just voting for wealth transfers from producers to others.
At the end of the day it's nothing more than more welfare.
So shut your effin cakehole and quit making excuses.
Jamesb, I agree with all you said in this thread….We DO have to keep in
mind there are certain regions in our country that we will not get a true
conservative….Like it or not, that's how the cookie crumbles…I would love
to have Michele Bachman's and Jim DeMints in Massachusetts, California, etc.
but I don't see it happening for a long time if ever in our lifetimes…Scott Brown
said he was going to vote for Massachusetts…
I wasn't surprised a bit. It is amazing how people get wound up about a new president every for years or this or that congressman. After enough cycles you would think the excitement would dwindle.
Only economic forces will bring Washington down and cause a contraction of the empire.
Imagine that – Another irritating boil to lance.
Blah, Blah, it's the people of Massachusetts that have the power to vote him
in or out…All we can do is NOT send him any more money,if we did, when he
runs again…..He doesn't answer to us!!….He's from Massachusetts, and we
have to take what we can get in some of these ultra-liberal states, Out of what
was offered in Massachusetts….He was the only one that would be conservative
once in awhile….No true conservative can run in a place like that and get many
votes…..It won't happen!
Besides, no one hires because the government say to. They hire because they need workers. People are getting laid off because there isn't demand for their work. They're not getting hired because there isn't demand for their work. Economics is supply and demand. This bill does nothing, really, to increase demand.
Can't wait to call his office tomorrow and politely ask for my name to be removed from their rolls.
You guys just do not get it. Politics is the art of the possible. How would it look to the voters if he voted against this bill in his home state. He stated during his campaign that he would probably vote for this bill. The main costs of this particular bill are in deferred TAX paymants and NOT money being paid out. There is much I do not like and some things I do like. Political purity is FOOLISH and DESTRUCTIVE. Even the Founders had real disagreements and knock down drag out argumants on the Provisions of the eclaration, Constitution and on and on.
This one vote proves NOTHING except to people who want it to.
Why? Part of supporting an individualistic society (every individual is important) is that we don't blame children for the parent's sins. As much as I hate seeing that bill pass, we have to consider, do we want representatives that represent or not? Because, again as much as I hate to admit it, Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly support this, and as their representative, Brown has a duty to represent their views. The ones that you should be mad at are the Democrats who are deliberately ignoring their constituents. If they did their job, we wouldn't have any reason to be worried when Scott Brown does his.
Scott Brown just took his eyes off the road …………………….and ran his truck into a ditch.
I'm not calling him a tow truck, he can push it out himself.
So business gets tax credits if they hire, business wont hire if it doesn't make financial sense to hire, and the program doesn't cost anything if they don't hire. So effectivly you're only spending money if a job is actually created. I've never seen any other government spending that is so closely tied to results. Plus since it's a tax break it's really the business owners money and not the government's money in the first place yes?
I'm a single mom and gave to this campaign….guess I was duped….. I never do that…. disappointing…
I wonder what back-room deal he got??????? Loser….
Actions are stronger than words….only action….I am so tired of useless words….
His main goal was to have him and his daughter play basketball with Obama…maybe that was the back-room deal…
These guys are all a bunch of freakin' liars! Every one of them needs to be booted out of office. American Conservatives, get registered and do your homework then VOTE in November!
I'm not surprised, we were warned. His statements immediately upon election, distancing himself from the tea parties, made it doubtful we could depend on him for much. He may not go for the health care nonsense. If he does, and maybe even if he doesn't, he should be removed at the end of Kennedy's term.
We're An Open Party!?
Bush, Cheney, Palin, Brown, Sanford, Ensign…you should be use to this. Not sure this is anything new or newsworthy.
waaaaaahhhhh….I want my money back!
Never fall in love with a politician – they'll break your heart every time!
I was here I was just about convinced that the tea party might be able to work with the GOP to fight the democrats and that a third party would be a disaster. I say start a third party.
Oh my, how quickly you turn on one of yer own. If you guys just wanna be an extreme movement and not win Government go ahead.
Rush Limbaugh needs to get with Scott Brown, one on one.
It always amazes me how far screaming MANIAC republiCONS can take something up their ass and be so fucking dumb that they don't even know something was inserted in to their rectum.
I had an uneasy feeling noticing all the RINOS attaching themselves him with a few Dimwits along for the ride. What a shame our message turned out not be Mr. Brown's. Does he not realize by passing this bill they can add anything they want to it. I know he is not that stupid and I am sorry he appears to have been bought.
Mr. Brown, Americans don't like liars and you can spin it anyway you want; but you are a liar and I am deeply disappointed.
I am also sick of the way these people get elected by lying. That is the very person we are trying to rid this country of.
I said right here on these boards that no matter who won the election there would still be another North East, big Spending LIBERAL voting on behalf of Mass.in the senate.
This election cycle people will try to put the republicans back in office, and the results will be the same, we will have war, lies and spending! Tax deductions are great except for the fact you still have to spend the money to get the break so what is the point? Its my belief a third party must bring its self forward! Only then can we have real debates. Well here we are at the most crucial time in our history, hello, knock, knock, is somebody home? We need a third party. Putting the Republicans back in will only cause us two more years of severe damage at which time we will have a revolution, and complete economic failure. Both parties need to suffer the consequences of their actions, we would have to if we made a bad choice personally. So many people today concentrate on all the symtoms, basically who did what to who, but no one and I mean no one is looking at the cause, the cause is our loss of soveriegnty. We as 'Americans', not 'US citizens' must get our soveriegnty back, then and only then will we be able to control our government as AMERICAN CITIZENS, and until then we will remain US CITIZEN's who are owned and operated by the Corporation of the United States of America.
Brown is as bad as Dumbama. In office only a few days, and already turning against the people who elected him. Just another RINO willing to kiss the butts of the dems. ARE THERE NO HONEST PEOPLE LEFT????????
People must Understand our soveriegnty is the key too fixing the vast majority of our problems, without that there is no point to the constitution, the constitution is useless unless we fix the cause, we can cry about the symtoms all day long, but in the end the cause is still the same! Healthcare is a symtom, bailouts are a symtom, entitlements are a symtom, Get your soveriegnty back!!! We must regain or soveriegnty if we are going to have a chance or better yet if our children are going to have a chance.
Yes there are, but we have to find people who believe in soveriegnty, it is the key to our success, but without it we are doomed to fail
You're right on…I agree wholeheartedly…We have to consider the
region these candidates come from…The other candidate would
vote with the Dems 100% of the time….I think we'll get more than
that from him…There is no way you can run a Jim Demint in Mass
and expect him to win…won't happen!
Anybody that didn't know this assclown as a RINO is a fool.
Anybody who gave him money is a bigger fool.
Brown just went from Hero to Zero in his first vote.
The problem is they can add to this passed bill without saying anything to the people. Surely, Brown knows this.
Olympia Snowe (Maine), Susan Collins (Maine), Kit Bond (Missouri), George Voinovich (Ohio).
and Scott Brown are the RINO's who voted yes on the jobs bill.
change the oil and gas up that truck…. long drive from DC back to the house!
Hey, you have a "fan"! lol!
The Northeast is losing population and the "middle" of the country is moving south and west (obviously). A few more winters and few more tax increases and that will accelerate. The skilled trade unions are killing themselves and less skilled/non skilled service unions are being more aggressive and moronic – see SEIU – so the Congressional demise of these little states is on the horizon.
A real change of heart is doubtful up there.
Amazingly, the origins and purpose of all this chaos are predicted and accounted for in the best selling, prophetic, political Conspiracy Thriller book, BLACK ROAD 2012, which I bought on amazon, and was a real goose-bumpy, totally absorbing ride: http://tinyurl.com/amazon-BLACK-ROAD-2012
Screw the Republican Party. I'm out. Non-Affiliate for the time being.
ive emailed him alreadfy letting him know hes no better then macain n i wont support him again
LIAR AND FRAUD. Scott Brown sold out to Harry Reid in less than two weeks. He needs to be re-called. What audacity! Are there NO honest people in Washington?
Posed for a leading feminist magazine and is pro-choice. The truth was in front of you the whole time. Duh!
This doesn't surprise me.
What really surprised me was the people HERE who wanted him to be President right after he was elected.
Brown sure didn't waste any time in disappointing us did he? A month ago, people were pegging him for the POTUS in 2012. I didn't fall for it then and won't now. So much for the new savior to the party huh?
I know your not talking to me Johnny. I've read alot of your posts on here your a loudmouth and nothing more. If you want to talk to me like that in person I'll give you the Address sugar britches.
He's a liberal troll. Who the heck is being anti-Semitic?
Using the same responses over and over – I wonder if he was hacked?
I am pretty sure the money for this so-called "Jobs" bill is coming from the paid back TARP funds which were MANDATED in the bill when it was originally signed that all paid back monies would go toward REDUCING our debt.
You, SIRS and MADAMS of the house and Senate are playing fast and loose with our financial stability. Wouldn't it be nice if you actually did what you said you were going to do when we elected you? I honestly do not know how so many of our politicians sleep at night. I really don't.
In all honesty, while I expected Scott Brown to be somewhat socially liberal, I really thought he was going to at least feign being a fiscal conservative.
Not a big surprise at all. After all, he's a MA Republican.
Do you think Romney will cut down on spending? Ha!
The Democrats like to tax and spend. The neocons like to cut taxes and spend. (irrespective of their rhetoric on the campaign trail)
Either way, its spend baby spend.
Donna, Brown ran as an "independent conservative" and made no bones that he wouldn't always vote the party line.
For gosh sakes, this is a REPUBLICAN sitting in Teddy's seat! It's now called the "Peoples' Seat" so let him vote for his jobs bill. It's only $15 billion — a mere spit in a bucket when compared to the Godzilla-spending of Obama and crew.
Let's never forget how Brown shut-down big-mouth Pelosi and her health care locomotive – it was steaming at us with guns-blazing!
peaches1: he didn't lie. I followed his campaign from the moment he was 5-points behind Coakley. He never stated he'd vote republican every time – in fact – he said he would "vote in the interest of Massachusetts."
This is a guy who came out of nowhere, beat massively-liberal Coakley in Massachusetts of all places and even had the POTUS (and TOTUS) there campaigning against him.
Everyone needs to chill a bit on Brown; this was a $15 billion bill – not a $1 trillion Obama extravaganza spending spree!!
Only one third of the first stimulus has been spent. The rest is going to be used as a slush fund to get dims reelected. As far as corruption goes….worst I have seen in my half century on this terrestrial orb….
Brown voted exactly as he said he would in his campaign. He promised to vote FOR the people of his state, not follow the party line. Well, my entire family is in MA and things are bad. He is trying to help his state quickly.
He's WAAAAAY better than Chappaquiddick Teddy and if we'd voted-in Coakley, guess what? WE'D ALREADY BE STANDING IN LINE FOR OUR HEALTH CARE.
This was — in comparison — a miniscule (tiny) bill ($15 bill) that tapped into refunded TARP cash, so what?
If it helps people who wear a tool belt or carry a shovel, then I'll take it.
I've been in the trades for decades and I haven't worked in months. I'm a conservative Republican but that WON'T save my house or put food on my table.
You can give me the ol' thumbs down if you choose, but this guy stopped the PelosiCare train that was running outa control and I won't forget that – nor am I ashamed that I donated to his campaign!
Now, if he keeps voting for Reid's crappy plans, then I'm with y'all….
"In the final, honest analysis, your must admit that a neighborhood, even a nation, is the sum of all its parts, and the very condition of those parts will determine whether quality of life comes from the government, or rather from the soul of the people". Ted Nugent
Right now Washington is in poor condition.
Think about what you wrote.
Boy, those two senators from Maine come as a real surprize!! NOT. Terming those two as RINOs is a real compliment.
Its only 15 millon… are you kidding me?
So your sayin he's better than Coakly, and a sharp stick in the eye?
I meant 15 billion but whatever It doesn't mater if its 15 dollars wasted. Wasteful spending needs to stop.
Lets see everyone is putting this guy in the WH, he is the next thing to moms apple pie. Please everyone, take a deep breath let him prove himself before everyone fawns all over him. Remember, the last time people gushed all over someone with no track record, we got the savior himself. I don't know but something tells me you just can't trust anyone from Massachusetts.
I think it's high time the state of Massachusetts must be dissolved as a sovereign state and let it absorbed by New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island (the tiny state could use some extra land). I'm tired of people of that state voting liberal politicians from both parties.
Scott Brown lost my vote. Bipartisanship with a bunch of more-debt-loving Democrats? My eye.
Didn't take the Yankee politician long to sellout.
So we now have a bill that spends money giving employers an incentive, however small, to hire the unemployed. That's just great! I'm in the ranks of the underemployed, so how does that help me? Answer: It doesn't. There is more incentive now to hire someone out of work than there is to hire me all things being equal. I think that's discriminatory and against fair hiring laws.
Ughh. You will never get the democrat vote. YOU GOT the republican and the independent vote. Do not cave for a bill that has problems because those problems become huge before too long. Stop spending money. Let's call this your rookie mistake and learn from this.
LOL……already?….he already was…….RINO's looking for someone….it's so damn funny……
I've known Scott for a long time and he's going to do whatever he wants – think otherwise and you're going to be disappointed.
Lisa – this is exactly what Scott Brown said he was going to do – how is that a lie?
I'll start selling drums and ear protectioin.
Carry a squirt gun, filled with battery acid….Or a Wham-O Wrist Rocket with glass marbles for Ammo…
His election was a slap to the Kennedy Klan. That's worth something, and a great start to break up the good, ole boys clubs and dynasty(s). Right now, I wish he would step up to the plate on the Health Care Summit…This is ther Issue right now, and much more important.
The one thing all newly elected officials need to know: This is a temporary position not a change in careers!!
And we need to remind them of that DAILY!
Obamacare would defeat itself even if it was passed. State nullification or economic forces would bring it down.
Brown supported welfare with his vote, end of story.
you shut your effing anti Semitic tool hole.
Then he's gone at the next cycle.
Near impossible to dislodge a democrat cancer, but a repugnicrat can be tossed out like used dishwater. Buh bye Scott McCain!
that's what your boyfriend says when you show your package, you pillow biter.
We do NOT condone or endorse bringing weapons of ANY kind to ANY rally or event!
Is anyone else getting fed up with these bozo's!…do any of these guys listen to the people who put them in their jobs!
I'm beginning to believe they all have a mental disorder, it's time we start demanding drug testing and mental evaluations.
Okay, Senator Brown,
Will you follow up your vote with diligent analysis and publicized information showing how this bill actually is doing what it says?
If you do, good.
If you dont, your now part of the problem.
I worked on Brown's campaign and wanted to believe he would be conservative. I hope he realizes that this vote has disappointed many supporters.
Cut spending will spur job growth, not more spending.
When you get praise from Harry Reid, you are doing something wrong
Aren't Bond and Voinovich both retiring at the end of the year?
truth be told i really didnt follow him during his campaign
then when i heard him speak election night i thought he sounded kinda goofy
and since then during some of his interviews had same opinion
i am trying to be positive about him but i just have bad vibes
One addition to your comments…
America, vote out every member of Congress, Republican or Democrat who votes to spend money we don't have and will never have. I don't care if it's fifteen hundred, fifteen billion or fifteen trillion, vote them ALL out!
"Good observation, my dear Watson"…
Last month's HERO has gone AWOL! Not sure of what committee he sits on or how the process works but his vote may have reserved a seat on a committee. I wish there could be someone in the Senate to corral all Repubs toward one goal….consistently.
How does one distinguish between foolish & destructive principles and those which can be compromised for the "art" of politics?
Is unequal application of the law – giving employers social security tax breaks for new employees only while those struggling to survive with existing ones must continue to pay the piper – something we should promote for the sake of painting a political masterpiece on the 6 o'clock news?
Since cutting social security taxes obviously stimulates the marketplace cut them across the board, don't dole them out piecemeal for the sake of "art" intended to save political hides.
What makes him one of our own? Is it because he won an election with an "R" next to his name? Do we "win Government" if we make them all R's?
I thought Scott Brown was against all this spending?? Jobs bill, my ass!
If he keeps voting like this, he will be voted out of office next time it comes around.
OK. I expected this from him. I knew he wasn't going to be perfect. He's the lesser evil. Now comes 2012 and someone else runs against Brown and that person is more Conservative than Brown then we vote/donate to that person.
Either way, he's better than Croakly.
Maybe his underwear will catch on fire.
Take a deep breath everyone. Brown's vote wasn't that surprising to me. After his upset win in Massachusetts many seemed to be proclaiming Scott Brown as the New Messiah; presidential timber, no less. This is the same trap that the Dems fell into after Obummer's big speech at the '04 convention. Elevating a cult of personality over substance which is something the Dems seem to have a penchant for. Don't let us fall into that trap.
Appreciate the upset Republican victory in Massachusetts. Hasn't been done since midway through the last century, for crying out loud! Don't invest too much hope in such things. It was but a minor battle in a major war. Keep the pressure on and we will win.
What do you not understand? He declared himself a "conservative", not once but at every "truck stop". Vote for the DEM "jobs bill" is NOT CONSERVATIVE, IT'S MORE RHINO REPUBLICAN.
Scott Brown reminds me of a sponge. Sadly, he goes to Washington and soaks up some of the dirty water from Harry Reid. Some conservative better get hold of him and wring out the dirt, before he becomes permanently stained. After that happens, the only thing to do is toss the sponge in the trash and get another one.
Love your stand! Hope you enjoy some fishing soon.
The "art" fools make up the predominate majority of the DNC & RNC. They are forever lost in the con-game.
His mentor is John McCain. People should know what to expect from this one fact.
Remember, he was a poster-boy whorx before he was a GOP whorx. Actions speak louder than words.
This is just more proof the ONLY option for the tax paying legal citizen is to NOT VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS. Clean house. If possible, vote independent, they can't do any worse than the DNC-GOP con-men.
The entire political-banking-media conglomerate is corrupt. As long as just one third of adults vote, and less than half pay taxes, the US Titanic will continue its "Descent into the Abyss". My hope is for 200M+ voters will clean house, in every branch, leaving no stone unturned. But I am not holding my breath.
That's not JohnnyKnoxs. Look at the accounts. Their different. One is JohnnyKoox. Usually Knoxs is pretty even-toned. I went back and checked and his other posts seemed fine. So I don't know if he's been hacked. But that other one is fake account meant to look like his.
So,
In order to not be some kind of "traitor" Brown has to vote 100% with the Right every time?
You are sounding as silly as the "Progressives" now.
Maybe he figures in this state of emergency, ANY jobs bill is better than nothing.
It's also very smart politically to at least make an attempt to work with the other side.
DUH.
The more I hear what "conservatives" and "progressives" have to say about every little thing, it makes me happy to be a libertarian.
You guys are like adjoining rooms in a figgin' day care full of whiny babies who never do anything but cry. The grownups have to come in and change you.
Removing all incumbents is the ONLY hope. If there is a D or R behind his/her name: buyer beware! The entire systems of government, all branches, are corrupt beyond repair. The other option is to move to Australia.
One of yer own, that's the problem…If there is an R or D behind the name…buyer beware!
Its called "the pendulum", and the DNC-RNC conglomerate is banking your too stupid to understand the next con-game.
His website on senate.gov is not working yet, because I would have written to him, so I am venting here…I guess hanging around with that pompous a……………..s Kerry got to Brown, and he just couldn't stand by his so called convictions that got him elected…It didn't take long to show his true colors…and I sent him a donation? What a turncoat he is and for this vote for the Progressives, it will bite him in the butt…What a RHINO he is…he really disappointed thousands of independents and people who were disgusted with this administration, so what does he do? He is the typical politician…there is no difference between Brown and all the other jerks in the Congress…Power corrupt and it didn't take him long to be corrupted. He posed as a grassroots likable guy who wanted to change the system, and boy was Mass. fooled by this clown. He voted for a Jobs Bill? Another boondoggle by this administration, and designed by Reid? He votes for this piece of garbage? If he would have stood his ground, and stayed true to his so called convictions, he could have been Presidential material in the future, but now, he is just one of the gang that can't shoot straight…He is a RINO..and possibly a secret Progressive…..he is a disappointment to the highest degree, he betrayed all the people that believed in him that he would make a difference in this corrupt town of Washington DC. Be assured, his truck is back in his home town, and he is traveling around in a LIMO like all the rest of those clowns…he sold us all out. I am totally disappointed in him….
Simple equation to follow…if there is an R or D behind the name…buyer beware!
2-clues…for those paying attention…he had an R behind his name…he was being mentored by McCain.
Kool-aid left is not different from kool-aid right. Everyone want an easy fix. The entire country is in denial about the realities. Unfortunately, it appears, the fix is in.
The mafia does not hide, part of its effectiveness is to be in your face. The DNC-GOP-Media conglomerate is so sure of itself, and your stupidity, it is now at this stage.
Why couldn't this be McCain, supporting this instead of Brown.
Yes it is strike one against Brown. McCain already has 10 strikes and we still let him bat…
News flash…the "Progressives" story-line is a just another tactic. The "Progressives" story-line serves to distract you from the massive corruption. The real news is the AIG-FED-Goldman con-game that continues to this day in bilking trillions from you, your children, and your grand-children. This con-game is being enabled by the DNC-RNC-Media Conglomerate. You are the mark, and they have banked on you being too stupid to see the slide of hand. Read it and weep:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/322551...
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&a...
The rookie is being mentored by John McCain, this was not a mistake.
Easy equation to remember next time around:
If there is an R or D behind the name = buyer beware!
While conservative looking in his own state, Brown is far from conservative.
However, he beates the crap out of a Kennedy any day..
Dude, don't you just love it when a person who does not know the difference between "into" and "in to" is commenting on others intellectual prowess. That is rich! HOW ARE YOU DOING THEIR USEFUL IDIOT!
Hey Missy, couldn't resist. I have to say great catch on the AATS=AJ=FF=JH and others. I knew ther was a reason I admired you besides the sharp intellectual knife. It is me, the same ol P2O. I figured I should resurrect the persona, before someone gets the bright idea to steal it. Spot on comments, keep up the great stuff.
If thats the case then the guy is a moron
Amazingly, the origins and purpose of all this chaos are predicted and accounted for in the best selling, prophetic, political Conspiracy Thriller book, BLACK ROAD 2012, which I bought on amazon, and was a real goose-bumpy, totally absorbing ride: http://tinyurl.com/amazon-BLACK-ROAD-2012
I want my Scott Brown campaign contributions back! I suppose the problme with ALL politicians is their EGO. Scott Brown just could not resist the Reid's suckup treatment. What a dope! He's looking more and more like Obama: promise one thing on the campaign trail and do exactly the opposite once elected to office! It must be the air in DC: it suppreses men's gonads as soon as they breath it!
SCOTT BROWN: BIGGEST POLITICAL DISSAPOINTMENT (after Obama of course).
It's so hard to believe that he made a speach to the people, letting them know that he would say no, and block the health care and also, saying this is the people seat, and the people has spoken. Well,he just slapped us in the face…It really makes you think on how it is and what people would tell you anything just for a vote. Unless the machine has gotten to him and made deals with him…The president and other people in the white house will do anything to get there vote though. If there anybody who is real I hope they would step up to the plate and let them know no means no. there little kids. You tell them no and they turn around and do the opposite.Be careful on who the people are and what they will say to your face.
I am not surprised, since he is from MA and is not prolife. It's too bad true conservatives are hard to come by these days??
But what was stripped out of it? Tax cuts for businesses?
Washington won't create ANY new jobs…small businesses will!
I don't think he sold himself as a rock-solid conservative, but an "independent". I'm going to reserve judgment as to him being a RINO, but he's MILES better than the alternative. Keep in mind, he's from Massachusetts. For that state, he IS conservative.
I think Rush Limbaugh's head just exploded!
This is why after every election and seating of a new politician the voters need to IMMEDIATELY go get the paperwork started to get signatures collected to recall the politician. Maybe if they knew the paperwork and signatures were already in place to remove them from office as soon as they deviate from what they claimed to be for while campaigning they would actually do what they say. If they all knew the moment they FLIP FLOP they would be recalled instantly would be our only way to hold them accountable in an instant not have to wait years to vote them out. They would have to start doing what they say or be plucked out of office for doing otherwise. This to go along with Term Limits of course.
This really just goes to show that if your Repub or Dem and you think it is only the other side that is the problem you are blind and can not be objective with yourself. If you can stand back and be objective it is so very clear that BOTH parties are the PROBLEM and if you can't admit yours is then you are also part of the problem.
BEWARE,……look for more of this after all the trolls were here the last few days.
They are…and selling us down the river in the process.
The honeymoon isn't even over before the knives come out. The problem right-wing crazies have is that except in right-wing crazy states (you know who they are), right-wing crazies don't get elected. Scott Brown isn't a right-wing crazy.
Or to quote Tom Petty: "Looks like I been fooled again…."
I just wish that a far greater percentage of the American people were as tuned in to the every day goings on in Washington as this group……. It sure would be a healthy situation for our country.
This Scott Brown vote,…… two years ago would have gone totally unnoticed. This interest today is a good thing….
However, let's hold off in putting Scotty next to Arlen Spector for a while there……..
For now, I will accept that this vote is based on a certain principle that may prove to be a refreshing change in today's Washington climate.
While I was happy to see Scott Brown win the Mass. Senate seat, I also couldn't help thinking, "Okay, now Mass. Tea Party people need to keep on this guy." To paraphrase Bill Cosby:, "We Tea Partiers brought you into this world. We can take you OUT!" The only way we'll make a REAL difference in 2010/2012 is if we don't go back to sleep just because we changed the D's in front of their names to R's.
I certainly hope this isnt the beginning of a trend. Brown said yesterday some dumb comment about bipartisianship. This isnt bipartisianship. Its another slush fund, just like the porkulus bill. We dont need another Olympia Snowe or George Winowitch (2 of the other so-called republicans who voted for cloture).
I had this vid the day after he was elected and no one wold explain what he was saying. I was already leaning to labeling him a RINO, but I think he is progressive.
Scott Brown 24hrs later "we are past campaign mode" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L7n8vyz0xk
Its time for "out of the box" thinking in dealing with all politicians, bias fringe media and special interest groups who are only working for their own interest. Unconventional actions is what is going to be needed to affect real change through http://www.savingtherepublic.com
All………we were sooooo hungry for some, any good news when S Bwn was elected, we over-celebrated.
Now we must refrain from doing the opposite. We must forgive ourselves of our mistake, remember we
needed a good old-fashioned blowout. If we were in Iraq we would have been blasting bullets into the sky.
Ammo must be cheaper on the Mid-east.
Mr Bwn seemed, in his interviews after election, to be very tentative, to my eye, almost the reluctant hero.
I took it as a sign he would not be pleasing us 100% of the time. This vote was a throw-away. Several
R Senators were already planning to vote FOR this bill, so his no vote would not have made THE difference.
But by voting with the D's he has shown the folks in his home state, he is working for their interests. Who
can be against jobs? We all know it's BS, slush fund mumbo jumbo. If his constituents are against this
bill they will make him aware of it. Stay tuned to Mass for backlash.
Bwn, Snow, & Collins will be the new gang, the Gang of 3, banning together to vote for the interests of
their Indy constituents. Those two old COWS will stand on both sides of him, one step back, & bask
in all the attention they can garner. They'll be grinnin' like a possum eatin' s__t. Lets think of a name for
them, the __________ Trio. Snow & Collins have long lacked a backbone, & Mass just provided them one.
Scotty & the Doo-op Sisters? Imagine Susan & Olympia in mini-skirts, feather boas around their
necks, wow what a cartoon that could be. Makes me wish I could draw. Susan Collins singing harmony,
with her wavering voice. She can't even stay on key while talking, much less singing. I can tell Olympia
likes to 'dress up', so she can be in charge of the costumes. Scott only has to show up, he's the eye-candy.
PRAY FOR GRIDLOCK
Looks as though Glenn Beck called this one too!
Can't help but wonder if this is Brown's way of managing expectations. I think the guy is a sly fox who felt he could show some bipartisanship, provide some funding for those he represents in MA and set up the progressives for a strong right hook to the chin on issues like gubment run healthcare. He is responsible for representing the people of MA and we all know that MA runs blue for the most part.
Having said that, let me be clear that I would prefer that the only legislation discussed would focus on areas of the budget that could be permanently CUT.
The founding fathers were deeply divided on many issues and it took years to reach an agreement. We need a Jefferson to pen legislation that will reduce the size of government and steer us in a direction that restores states rights. We also have to find a John Adams to publicly challenge the reps who would spend this country into oblivion by ignoring political correctness and ruthlessly shaming them. Add a General Washington to my wish list who will lead a military which is allowed to fight wars without having one hand tied behind their backs.
Senator Brown, I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Perhaps a rookie mistake. Just note that I disagree with your decision. Now get in there and fight!
Obamacare will go to court but that would be as a law, signed by Ocommie. It can be defunded, challenged as unconstitutional, etc.
Plan #1 is that it NEVER survives a vote or the vote never happens.
There was a lot of strange stuff going on the last few days.
I never trusted this freaking guy, and you want to know why? He was elected in Massachusetts. One, if not the, most liberal states in the union. Just one more RINO to add to the growing list of turncoat one-termers.
Each time Government "creates" another G-job it's another unfunded liability . . . for decades–salary, benefits, and retirement for decades to come.
How is this fiscal responsibility?
As for BROWN, "disappointment" isn't strong enough . . . DISGUST is more appropriate.
Let's see if he is smart enough to catch my mistake. Still waiting Smart USEFUL IDIOT!
I agree. There is no way Brown can have a 100% conservative voting record and survive in Massachusetts. That is just a fact that everyone should be able to understand. Those who demand perfection get Democrats elected. By 2012 we will know what Brown is worth.
Call me when Beck gets elected to anything.
So … one vote and you know everything? This bill is a relatively cheap way to demonstrate to the voters of Massachusetts that he is not a "hardliner". Because those don´t get elected there. He will still be better than Coakley. A conservative should understand the concept of "lesser evil".
So we have Brown voting with Dems, Palin supporting McCain, Romney supporting McCain, and Ron Paul being voted as candidate in CPAC straw poll… I propose that the dems have launched a body snatcher campaign against conservatives… that is the only possiblity I see other than they have lost their phuqing minds.
Ever hear about "the straw that breaks a camel's back"?
I think that a lot of Republicans/conservatives are hyperventilating about something they should not. He may or not be a RINO. I was surprised myself when he voted the way he did, but, this guy is bright and is like a good chess player who can see two or three moves ahead. I do believe that he is much more Republican than Democrat, Mass. or no Mass. Beside, how would you like to have Coakley sitting in his seat? Don't judge him on one vote. Besides, if he continues along this path, he will be gone in '12; the Tea Party movement will see to that.
LOL, Ya i have a few, most are the of the inverse troll variety.
It was kind of one of these days:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdOusyGwBa4
I think you just nailed it.
On the one hand, this is a terrible decision by Brown, one that casts into doubt is political allegiance and ability to support and move forward conservative ideals. On the other hand, I suppose a socialist is a step up from a communist in the People's Soviet of Massachusetts.
Mal, it seems to me he has put himself in that rubber room all by himself with this vote. I can't tell you the disgust I felt, when I saw his picture in the same frame as Collins, Snowe and Voinovich re: this vote. This is not good company to keep and the sooner he finds this out the better.
BtW, I've seen the daughter's video. She has quite a voice. There are other videos of her you can see and one is even better than her American Idol song. Enjoy.
Mass. Republican — traitor! What a ___hole!
I'm a retired tradesman, and will never vote Democrat, since the 80's. We have a 20% unemployment in Milw., WI Area….No holes being dug for future work. Our guys won't be back to work for 2 years…What Brown did or didn't do has no effect, whatsoever. However, He did upset the applecart reminding the Dems. that we want and will get the Progressives out….
me question is even simpler … Scott, where is the money coming from ? We are broke
anyone remember the scene from DAVE at the end, where they are all ready to campaign for the guy to run for president? this is how we should all feel now ….. and then the room empties…..
I like the pray for gridlock.
The easiest thing to fix jobs would be for O to say he wasn't going to do anything.
Amen Suzie
my awhile is up
you know the libs are going to make hay with this
and where are all those proclaiming "Brown in 2012"
see reply to my earlier reply to your reply
Please, everybody chill. Remember, Mr. Brown has to stand for re-election in 2012, so don't go making mountains where they currently do not reside. Would you rather have a democrat in there!? Mr. Brown will be there when we need him, so pick your battles carefully. You still don't understand Massachusetts politics. This vote makes sense to most Independents up here, and what's $15 billion the wat this administration is spending anyway!?
Harry Reid Says Republicans Should 'Stop Crying' About Reconciliation… Won't Harry quiet pushing his Health Care and grow up????
Obamacare doesn't cover abortions and doesn't give coverage to illegals. but on a side note the RNC , up until a few months ago, offered coverage to its employees for abortions. Our military 's health plan still does.
I believe there is still a Senate provision that cotradicts you on the abortion language in the latest version of Obamacare.
Bart Stupak (D) Mich, ISN'T happy.
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/02/23/politics/...
"Michigan Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak, who opposes abortion rights, has released a statement saying the White House health care reform plan is "unacceptable" because it "encompasses the Senate language allowing public funding of abortion."
me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i thought this guy had some guts and a backbone — he's probably standing at the mailbox waiting for his dinner " invite" to the big house with the Obamas————-what a disappointment!!!!
Well he has a job, so what does he care?
You must be a lawyer. Only lawyers talk in endless circles like that. Let me break down what you said, "He screwed us and we should happy about it because now he can demonstrate how really it was the dems that screwed us." Another RINO. At least he isn't a Kennedy but MASS, you need to keep looking.
Tahnks kooz,………………the thought came to me after the big snow storms in DC, when we got
a break from the terrorism congress has been foisting upon us. If they can be shut down from
doing ANYTHING for the rest of the year, it will be a bonus for we the people.
GOP establishment to America. GOP establishment to America.
You have been NEOCONNED. Repeat. You have been NEO CONNED.
SB's Byline: "we can do better". Really?
Why should he quit pushing health care?
Boo hoo hoo.
Dear Mr. Brown,
That was awesome!
On your very first big vote in the Senate your true colors show and you stab all of your kooky no-nothing supporters squarely in the back! I mean, not even a hint of party loyalty or any sense that people are fed up with spending money the government doesn’t have. What do they know anyway? You know way better than them. I really hope that you would consider voting for the current health care bill now and drive a stake right through the heart of the entire movement that got you elected. What idiots those folks must feel like right now! Grassroots Republicans put their heart and soul into getting you elected to a seat thought impossible for a Republican to win. What a tremendous victory for us liberals that you would vote for our jobs bill. And now, we liberals can use this as ammo at every turn from here on out to prove that Republicans can’t even pick a candidate that shares their views. This is freaking AWESOME! Dude, you are a genius. Douse their dreams of a Republican takeover later this year and shove them down in their rightful place!
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Every single liberal in the United States.
He ran as an independent, while he is a conservative independent this should not surprise people. Get used to it, he is not going to side with republicans 100% of the time, I guess that kind of makes him a little more relevant and important than the typical dems and republicans who dont waiver whether its right or wrong.
Scott Brown Joins Democrats to Support ‘Jobs’ Bill by Publius: Looks like another RINO is a progressive out to destroy America! He probably will not be any better than the person that he's replacing in the seat!
Thanks for your reply to Oberst Mitarbeiter…it was greatly appreciated. I do expect to see more of him. I think it is Flinder Flander who deleted himself yesterday after a few anti-semitic comments. It was very interesting, so I think Oberst is him again thinking he is clever to come take a swipe at me with another name….
I am going to read the articles you sent me tomorrow morning. Looking forward to the second installment. I will be deleting this soon so the troll above stays clueless! You are a Knight of the highest order, Sir Galt!
Im not surprised with this vote. No matter if he is a conservative or not. He wants jobs for his state and thats why he voted for this bill. He represents his state of Mass. first. No matter if this works or not. The libs know this bill wont work and in a way its a setup to discredit Brown. But im not ready to call him a turncoat or a traitor yet. If he opposes socialist health care reform and cap & tax then he is still in the good. No one is perfect and no matter who you elect they will always make unpopular votes for the good of the constituents.
I have herd enough about this guy to last 5 lifetimes.Big deal he beat a loser who called the sports hero of every voter in his state a Yankees fan. That plus him saying I am the 41st no vote,a decenber full of backroom deals closed doors, are the reasons he won.It sure went to his head, right away when he waltzed in Macs office to praise him.He ran to the reporters like the cock of the walk. Then he says his HC plan is the model plan America should adopt.WTF?A plan that has Americas highest premiums,is state run,has huge cutbacks, soaring costs,is tossing legal immigrants off it,and soon will introduce group doc visits. Is he serious?I knew he was left of the Maineiacs right there.Romneycare is Obamacare.Anyways tell me 5 things other than winning this seat that he has done? What will this guy put in his book?I think he should wait a few years get some bills authored and passed then write a book.I like him but if you look at the state he is from, and the things he has said, he will side more than just this time with Reid.
big office
free parking
big paycheck
free meals
dr office next store
more holidays off than a hooker !!!!
who would complain?
I read where the $85 Billion Dollar jobs bill had "wide" or "overwhelming" bipartisan support. There must hve been a little somethin somethin in there for everybody.
But Harry Reid didn't trust the republicans to play fair, so they went with the stripped down version.
I'm not sure, but I think the bigger one had a bunch of money to extend unemployment benefits. I'm not unemployed, so it wouldn't matter much to me. But if you were(out of work), I guess that would have been nice, as far as peace of mind until you found work.
It's just throwing good money after a bunch of bad choices.

And Coakley!
The indoctrination starts in pre-school. By the time they are young adults, they are totally indoctrinated. Watch the schools you put your children in and watch their homework. Report anything being taught that you think is out of line. School can undo everything you have tried to build, if they are given free reign.
The only one I hear crying is the wimp! He makes as many gaffes as Biden.
It is a disaster, that's why. Our nation is nearly bankrupt, and this bill will finish us off. Think of your children's and grandchildren's futures. It is also unconstitutional in many areas. The constitution is a document everyone in congress swore to uphold. Since O took over, it has been used as toilet paper by both the house and the senate. If it is passed, I hope you enjoy being forced to buy something you may not want (unconstitutional there, too). Do you like the thumb of government on top of your head? I don't think my healthcare is any of their business. It is between me and my doc.
Amen! Give the man a chance.
CHINA! ISN'T THAT PITIFUL? WE HAVE POLITICIANS THAT THINK WE HAVE AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF $$$$. IF CHINA CALLED IN THEIR DEBT, WHERE WOULD WE BE? WHAT BUSINESS WILL HIRE ANYONE FOR A TAXBREAK, WHEN THE SALARY AND PERKS WOULD MORE THAN EAT THAT UP? HOW DUMB DOES THIS ADMINISTRATION THINK WE ARE? COME QUICKLY NOVEMBER AND 2012. HOPE WE ARE STILL A FREE COUNTRY BY THEN.
I'M GLAD THE KENNEDY NAME IS FINALLY OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT.
The Constitution was shredded by the previous occupant of the WH. Your healthcare is between you and your doc only if you are paying for it out-of-pocket. If you have insurance, it is not between you and your doc. I have neither children nor grandchildren, so I am not concerned about their future. I have a hard time figuring out why I should be concerned about the future of your children and grandchildren. So far, I haven't come up with a reason.
As Sgt. Schultz would say- "I know nothing".
Eh, everybody knows a Senators job is to look out for the interests of his/her state. But you can understand how so many would be upset about breaking a filibuster attempt to stop more deficit spending. The important thing is that Sen. Brown remains an ally and stays true to his campaign promises.
Poor condition? I'd say the most corrupt ever! I think muslim roots are showing.
Scott Brown says "Ooops, I forgot it only used to be Teds seat." "Where are all the cameras?"
He claimed to be a conservative. In massacheuttes, that must mean he is a progressive.
