Ron Paul tops CPAC’s annual straw poll with 31%. Mitt Romney was 2nd most popular and Sarah Palin 3rd. The results were booed by those present in the convention halls.
The majority of attendees said they are dissatisfied with the current field of potential candidates.

The GOP is a huge mess right now. CPAC is so over.
Why should he be serious about a peaceful, stable, ancient civilization with a well-educated populace? We need to be more concerned with the expansionist rogue nation with illegal WMDs that is occupying land and destabilizing the Middle East and threatening to make unprovoked attacks (plus have a cult-like belief they are "chosen" by a magical man in the sky to own land.)

If only 2400 out 10,000 voted, what it tells us is that no one is satisfied with any one POTUS candidate for 2012 — yet. What it doesn't tell us is that the Ronulan is anywhere close to being the favorite.

What bothers me about Ron Paul is his isolationism. In a world defined by the Internet, our interests are global. And we need to be actively working in our own interests globally.

Holding your gorge and flipping the lever for McCain against Obama is one thing, but people, particularly the independent swing voters, still need to be able to wake up the day after election day with some vague modicum of self respect.

What a ridiculous statement. Ron Paul is a good man, but we live in a dangerous world, Israel needs our friendship, and we need to be willing to help them and others against tyrants if necessary. Willing to fight the enemy when needed, Ron Paul would not be. Everything is not about taxes friend.

I think it might be more accurate to say that we would be "Fundamentally Restored."
Ideally, we want to get to a Ron Paul/Founding Fathers style federal government… the problem is that it took us about 100 years to get where we are, and its going to take some time to roll stuff back. But, we will get there… we will get there.

There ARE some pretty good choices out there, if only they'd decide to run.
Hear hear! We need a larger pool of potential candidates now so we can trim the herd and push two or three really strong candidates two years before the election. That's how 'they' won with Hussein. We also need people who can mop the floor with BHussein and BHillary.

He received 31% of the less than 30% who voted. This is hardly a ringing endorsement. There were not enough voting locations and less than 3K of the greater than 10K present voted. I demand a revote.
