by PubliusToday, in 1979, the Islamic Revolution in Iran was completed. Current President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced that Iran is now a ‘nuclear state.’ Unfortunately, we will probably find out soon what that means.

I saw Obama put sanctions on 3 Constuction companies run by the revolutionary guard and I laughed my a** off as I'm sure they did in Tehran too.
A year of threatening them with sanctions a year of them humiliating Obama personally and that is all he could muster,sanctions on a few construction companies, what a joke.
Then Obama says he is still willing to negotiate and that was the punch line too much.
I'll bet the Iranians think it a trap because no world leader could possibly be that naieve and stupid.

Regarding Iran,they do in fact have a right under the NPT to enrich uranium to electricity grade(roughly 2%,not 98% for bomb grade),that does NOT mean that "they are enriching uranium to make bombs!!!" as most of the biased headlines are shouting in the US.
They have every right to sell their oil instead of burn it for electricity,they were civilized and respectful of international laws to do so legally,while the Israeli's refuse to sign the NPT and refuse to allow inspections.
By the way,how many Americans are aware of the fact that the US and Britain overthrew Iran's democratically elected government in 1953?

It's not so much that Iran has developed nuclear capabilities; what is crazy is that we – the G7, et al, CONTINUES to "threaten" with sanctions, then does nothing. How many times have we heard, from both sides of the isle, that "these new sanctions are going to deter" this Iranian criminal? And then we don't do ANYTHING! No sanctions, no enforcement, no nothing. One of Oblahma's main planks was going to be his ability to talk it out with our enemies, and at every step every sane individual pointed out that the AchmeNutjob would have none of that BECAUSE he is insane. All that has happened is giving Iran more and more time to develop, all the while KNOWING that his ultimate goal was NOT to develop nuclear energy, but to develop nuclear POWER… THAT is why GWB took out Iraq, when every single UN resolution went completely ignored. When the hell are the Dems and Reps going to take this Nutjob seriously – when he actually drops the bomb?
