by PubliusYesterday, Congressman Marion Berry (D-AR) became the first Democrat to announce his retirement in the wake of Scott Brown’s win in the Massachusetts special election. He will not be the last.
Apparently, the paint job didn’t take in Arkansas.

Good riddance, Rep.Berry. Let's hope the fine folks in Arkansas elect a replacement who values our Constitution and displays some sense of fiscal responsibility. Doing the right thing is not very complicated.

Even though we rid ourselves of yet another rodent, we are still stuck rewarding the sunoverbeach for the rest of his life. Funny thing about that. I don't remember voting for this special retirement package. Do you?

In the electronics industry, and others, they know that packaging matters. They sell products that are eye catching and flashy, the actual product may be junk but they sell a huge amount at a large markup because people make the purchase based on the eye appeal. It is called "flash and trash" by the industry, and the Dems have caught on to the concept remarkably well.
I think most Democrats believe that it's easier to quit, then to suffer the political fall out of switching parties. I would also look for more Democrats switching parties, either to Republican, or even Independent, regardless of the lead trial balloon that Rep. Berry floated in AK. Little do they possibly realize, it doesn't matter what party they are in, it matters what values they instill in their hearts…We are more concerned about actions, then affiliations at this stage of the game.! And don't forget, that an early retirement from congress isn't really a bad thing for the individual. They still get all the Bennie's and Perks, plus a full pension, for only one term of service. Amazing isn't it…!?!?!?
Every candidate that is up for re-election or election in general will need to be scrutinized like a bogus phone bill. It's up to us to make the right decisions now, not them. If we make the right decisions as voters, the rest (should) come naturally…!? Stay informed, and steadfast in the pursuit for a better America my friends, it's in our hands now…!

The problem with a "swing back" is, with liberalism and RINO wimpy-ness, it never seems to swing back all the way. I wouldn't mind a little overcompensation in the swing back, so that RINOs are again seen as conservative Democrats and not as liberal Republicans.
'Cut-N-Run' is their style. when the going gets tough, Dems grab their pensions and head for the nearest exit. a prime example is Patsy Schroeder. after 20 some odd years of purporting to defend the little guy from the eeeeevil right, as soon as the Republicans gained control in '94 she grabbed her solid gold govt parachute and bailed. then had the brass to call the efforts to undo 40 yrs of her party's malfeasance "reform lite". look up 'DFC' in the dictionary of American slang, you'll find her picture…
It's almost hard to believe what's going on. I always figured that the old stereotype of republicans being "people who only care about the rich, and hate everyone else" was etched in stone. Might be my age group or where I live, but how did this media-funded, anti-conservative stereotype start changing? Or was it never taken seriously to begin with?

I've been reading blogger comments the past hour or more and I'm disturbed how all of you 'posters' who are former 'lemmings' and 'followers' of the Pied Piper Obama, sound a little upset. I dare say you better get yourselves organized and start coming up with a political platform that will put your thoughts where your hearts are because as former 'lemmings' and 'followers' you remain subjects of 'Hope' and 'Change'. A political platform spells out the difference between hope and change and can tie political candidates to speak for the platform. What I'm anxious to see is how the next Congress and Senate can make our debtor nation into its rightful spot as the world's leader again. First and foremost – we need natural, born leaders, filled with patriotism, idealism and the ability to serve and not be served.
This might be a bit off-topic but I believe there are a lot of smokers here. I have recently decided to find a good vendor of e-cigarettes. I’m done with paying so much for normal cigarettes. Im deciding between either greensmoke or blucigs. Anyone using either of these?
