Lech Walesa Endorses Republican for Illinois Governor
by PubliusIn an exclusive, Big Government has obtained a letter addressed by Nobel Prize Winner and anti-Communist hero Lech Walesa to the people of Illinois, endorsing Adam Andrzejewski, Republican candidate for Governor.

Mr. Walesa will be in Chicago this week to campaign for Mr. Andrzejewski. The primary election is Tuesday, February 2nd. The endorsement from Walesa may actually mean something to Illinois voters. Illinois is home not only to a large number of Polish-Americans, but a large number of voters from throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
There is no clear frontrunner in the crowded field of candidates. Most of those in the race have deep ties to the Illinois Republican establishment, which isn’t the best qualification in the current climate. In the closing days of the campaign, the race seems wide-open.
Big Government has also learned that several tea party organizations, both in Illinois and out of state, are mobilizing their members behind Andrzejewski. This could be one to watch next week.

I heard that news earlier today. It is telling, the state to which our politics has sunk, that aq good man, and a legitimate Nobel Prize Winner like Lech Walesa would actually come to America and endorse a candidate here.
I'd urge people to read the letter……..
While Lech Walesa is here, perhaps someone could actually get him to endorse Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher for some office.

Wow. Now THAT is an endorsement. I hope the Republicans in Illinois give Adam a good look and not discount him for his inexperience. That will actually work in his favor in the general election, I believe.

I don't know much about Andrew, but I rather like Dan Proft. He's been one to fight against the machine and machine politicians here in Illinois for years now.
Proft is the one I've been watching too. Guess I should spend a little time learning more about Andrew, I'm not even going to try and remember the last name!
That's one helluva an endorsement, I hope the candidate lives up to the honor.
Lech Walesa is a patriot in his own right, fighting against Communist oppression. A well timed honour, indeed.

I always liked this one from Lech.

Adam is the only good choice, but unfortunately, he will be beat by the Obama supporter Dillard. The senate seat (Obama/Burris) is stacked on both sides to insure a Dem win by Giannoulias, another corrupt nincompoop. Illinois still has a ways to go before it's free of bad politicians.
I know absolutely nothing about this race or Adam Andrzejewski, and I would never dispute Lech Walesa, I am just sorry to note that his letter reads an awful lot like the platform oDumbo rode in on.
Of course oDumbo lied, but, like having someone spit in your soup once, you tend to be look more closely at the next bowl.
Is no one going to say that as a non-U.S. citizen Mr. Walesa has no business endorsing any American in a political race? Are we now supporting racist block voting with Poles in addition to Blacks and Latino's? Is Mr. Andrzejewski going to support Mr. Welesa's agenda in Europe because he owes him politicly.
This would be enough for me to vote against Mr. Andrzejewski since it makes me wonder if I would be treated fairly as a non-Pole and whether Mr. Andrzejewski would be taking care of european matters instead of state matters.
Easy to pronounce the name Andrew+jess+ski. Try it a few times. Now it is not right on the money for a perfect Polish pronunciation, but is close enough to show you tried.

Why in God's name would Mr. Andrzejewski even be the slightest bit concerned about Polish politics? Yes, this is a wonderful endorsement from Mr. Walesa, but he doesn't owe him a damn thing. Lech Walesa was last president of Poland in 1995, so could it just be that he really thinks this candidate is a damn good one?
So Obama was endorsed by Hamas.
I'm from Chicago and I am voting for Adam. We need real change here. I was surprised to see Adam signs on homes and even in stores! People are getting fed up with the chicago style politics.

I'm from IL. Adam appears to be a smart and energetic candidate but I highly doubt he will win the primary.
I just read that IL ranks 48th for job creation between 1997-2007 and is one of seven states that has fewer jobs now than ten years ago. This is disgraceful. If IL voters don't punish the Democrats and return a Dem to the governorship and US Senate, consider us done.
"every dime, on line, in real time", is quite a campaign promise by this candidate. Is it just talk? Could Andrew be the next Scott Brown? It is hard to imagine that the scurrilous political reputation of Illinois can be reversed by just one man. Come on Fox News. Schedule this guy. He won't get an even break on the lib stations.
Why not? We sure as hell supported Lech Walesa and Solidarity when they rose up against communism in their country. Why shouldn't Walesa do the same for us as we try to beat back the uber lefties who are undermining our Constitution?
Do a little research. Lane Kirkland and the AFL-CIO pumped huge bucks, photocopy machines, and other supplies and support into Solidarity after the Polish commies declared martial law. Reagan's Administration made no bones about which side we wanted to win.
If the five Norweenies on the Nobel Committee think it is OK to influence US politics with their farcical choice of BHO for the Peace Prize, then it is certainly acceptable for a bona fide champion of freedom like Walesa to speak his mind about someone on the other side of the politcal divide here.

They're watching what's happening here with fear, knowing that if this trend continues, there will be no credible force left in the world to stop the flood of tyrants posing as socialists from swamping freedom. I strongly suggest you learn about Adam A biggovernment friends. I don't know that correct mrclark – Mr. Proft Cicero business and ties simply have been evident and not as what I prefer to see. Not as pure as he portrays. It is not Andrew but Adam! I go for Adam and his 'every dime on line' and his history of success in business. We NEED a business man who knows how to stop this out of control spending! The out of control BROKE state & pork spending! Adam A. has actually stepped up to the plate to sign a CONDITIONAL ENDORSEMENT which there are 12 points on the pledge. Uphold the Constitution, 2nd amendment, work toward term limits and a fine group of issues that are signed and in writing and not just verbal promises that fade away! He is transparent and his entire financial forms on line and others have only provided 'partial'. I hope you will really think about what our fine state needs and learn more about Adam as I believe you will find he deserves your vote on Feb. 2 also! Illinois certainly needs what I have found by following him for 8 months! Have not been disappointed with him in any way to date! Illinois Miracles on Feb 2.
Maybe if you're tired of Illinois always failing economically, it's time to support the one guy not from the crowd of tax-hikers and perennial losers that made it happen. Support Adam!

Unfortunately, Adam and Dan Proft are fighting an uphill battle at a time when conservative candidates are needed to beat the entrenced dems in Illinois and throughout the nation. We are throwing in with the weak-kneed and corrupt if we field Mark Kirk and Kirk Dillard in November.
What you are advocating is un-American at least and racist at best.
Our nation is in the process of being taken over by Marxists. Our voters need to pay heed to people who have lived through the darkness of tyranny and deprivation. Lech knows the difficulty that comes with an effort to throw off the chains that are associated with socialism – - we need to listen to this man and men like him.
Whenever I see Lech Walesa referenced, I'm reminded of my first experience watching "Mystery Science Theater 3000". In the movie, the characters were connecting power, and one said something along the line of, "Then connect this to the positive pole." One of the robots commented, "Lech Walesa", and I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.
I like both Dan and Adam. I liked Dan's humorous and kinda smart-alec responses in the debate I saw on ABC ("like everyone else up here, I was born a poor black child"). We need someone to stand up to the Madigans. I'm doing early-voting this week. I was leaning towards Proft, but now maybe AA would be a better bet. Hmmmm…
I have to examine my thoughts of a foreign nationals endorsement of a U.S. candidate.
Although Mr. Walesa is a great man in his own right, should we meddle in another sovereign nations
politics or allow others to meddle in ours? Then I have to wonder where we would be if we, as a nation,
let the chavezes, castros and kim dungs of the world continue unchallenged.

I'm from SO-IL, not a Pole (though huz is). We're voting for Adam A-ski and Patrick Hughes next Tuesday. Both Catholic and pro-life and fiscally conservative. We'll worry about holding our noses for RINOs after Feb 2. We'll do our best for our preferred candidates for now. The IL GOP establishment is VERY unfriendly to conservative grass roots. They've continued to sleep through the Reagan Revolution.

Well, I can vouch for Adam in his youth. I attended grade school and high school with him in Herscher, Illinois. He was smart, honest, hard working and kind; traits that he seems to exhibit today. He comes from a large family and his parents raised all of the kids to study, work hard and contribute their efforts to the community. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Adam would be a great governor.
We've had generations of career politicians with 'experience' in the system. Men and women who know the right people. Look where that has gotten Illinois. I'm ready to try something new.

When did Lech Walesa become a great American hero? Eight out of 10 Americans couldn't tell you where he is from or how he got to be famous. Of course that may be an unfair test because 6 out of 10 of us can't name the vice president of the United States.

Lech Walesa is a true hero that we can all learn from, but it is wildly inappropriate for someone like him who knows nothing about the state of IL to poke his head into our politics to endorse a candidate for no other reason than his Polish ancestry.

As a former Staff member for Governor Mike Huckabee, I wholeheartedly support Adam Andzrejewski for Governor. He is the only one with a real plan. When I came to Illinois, I was deeply disturbed to find out the Republican Party was a subsidiary of the Democrat Party. It's time to start over.
I don't want to disparage him, but it does seem that way.
Is it just me, but don't you think it is sad that politicians in America have to get endoresments from political leaders from other countries. Have we fallen so far from freedom that we can't even see the wall being built.
