Friday Free-For-All: Vermont Edition
by PubliusToday, in 1777, Vermont declared its independence from Great Britain and became a sovereign entity, issuing its own money and exchanging ambassadors with the American colonies. It became the 14th state in 1791.

Maybe with Luck they'll secede and let Obama rule over them!
Maybe this coming Tuesday, Mass will take notice and declare their independence, throwing off the yoke of Kennedy socialism. It might well be a referendum not only on the Kennedy legacy, but against Obama as well.
I see now they're talking about having show trials in Washington DC for gitmo detainees. I wonder if they can sit in on the healthcare debate too? They and their attorneys, supplied by us, can let the rest of us know how that transparency and openess is working in there.
There must be something peculiar about the water and/or air in the northeastern states. They have given us Teddy, Bwarny, Doodd (sic) and independent socialist Bernie Sanders. Something ain't right.
Socialist leaders… bad
Able to legally carry a gun, concealed or open, without a permit… very good
Word is Obamao will allow Al Jazeera unfettered access to all, but nothing for C-Span.
Great point!
Cameras for the show trials, but none for C-span.
What a joke!
Massachusetts is the seat of the revolution, my friends… same as it's always been.
What would Paul Revere do, New Englanders..?
Forget Hopenchange… you're about to witness some REAL history next Tuesday, IMO…
GO SCOTT GO !!! We're counting on you, buddy… the whole country is

They've got to be kidding me…Giulani was the Telegraph's #1 conservative? And McCain is before Glenn Beck??? I don't think they understand what conservative means. Just because one has an "R" behind their name doesn't make them conservative!!
Beck doesn't consider himself "Conservative", McCain does. Beck thinks he is a libertarian.
Like many states Vermont has been taken over by the far left.
There was a time when Howard Dean was considered a DINO because he was so far to the right.
Great little article on Obongo's failed and broken promises:

The Democrats will start asking to see Obama's Birth Certificate if Coakley Brown wins in MA. next week.
That is a funny thought.
Maybe Bwarney Fwank will CONvene a hearing………….
Honestly, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is the only one of the leftist 60 that has my respect. He's the only one that admits what he is. The only one that has the guts to proudly say that he is a socialist. I strongly disagree with his views and hope that his vision never comes to pass, but he does gain a measure of respect for admitting it.
Scott Brown said they're moving the Democratic "Machine" into town.
They'll be smearing the shit out of him from now til Tuesday.
Lord i pray he wins.
I hope he bends them over backwards and shoves it right up their collective azz.. It is time to take this country back from those putrid sunsabitches.
Slick Willy has already been lurking, and I would only imagine that Obama has too much invested in his take over of our economy to NOT make an appearance in a bid to persuade the morons up there that she is what's best for them. Tho, the people of Mass. are obviously pretty comfortable with deviants, liars, and murderers representing them, as the past and present has shown us. It will certainly be interesting to watch Obama look down his nose at the Mass. people and proclaim Martha Cloak-and Dagger is what's right for them…Even more interesting to me, is how liberals are digging themselves deeper and deeper into a hole with the thoughts that they are actually saving themselves. It's one thing to be a little misguided on a policy or two, here and there…But not the whole damn administration!? It's like watching the Titanic heading for the iceburg…And it's a pleasure to watch!__
They'll be sending in all the thugs and heavy hitters from the DNC, SEIU, ACORN, and the union
And tomorrow in 1777, Vermont began it's descent into Liberalism.
Oh joy!
I hope Bertha Lewis shows up, riding in the front of the curcus bus.
There must be something lost in translation. I have read that list all week and all it did was make me laugh.
Did you read the comments? Hilarious.
Maybe Mass will wake up next Tuesday.

Where’s “Larry, Daryl and Daryl” when you need them. The three of them would be better for Vermont and America than the envious moocher Bernie Sanders (socialist).____
Chopper, looks like the Republicans aren't going to sit still…Here's an
article giving us some idea what they are doing to try and win this seat.

Some guys have all the luck:
SEN. BEN NELSON IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH PIZZA HUT OVER NEW TOPPING
http://naturalfake.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/sen-b...
Vermont has some good things going for it. They have a lot of smaller, independent farms producing local food…a welcome trend in the face of huge industrial farms that have taken over most of the food production in this country thanks in part to federal government subsidies at the behest of corporate lobbyists. Corporate socialism. Vermont is resisting.
Folks, you gotta see this!
It is absolutely the best. I laughed until I cried!
By now everyone has heard about the idiot Pat Robertson commenting on the Haiti earthquake, saying it was because Haiti made a pact with the devil. For everyone, and everything, there must always be a counter balance, a counter point. Here is Danny Glover, in all his wisdom and scientific glory:
http://blogs.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/timblair/...
I KNEW it would only be a matter of time before some left wing Hollywood wackjob would blame the earthquake on Climate Change and Global Warming. Glover claims it was because we turned our back on Climate Change in Copenhagen. It just doesn't get any better than this……..
Vermont is a paradox, as mentioned above by Matt, here in the Leftist Land of Socialism, it's legal to own and carry, open or concealed, any firearm you want, the only exception being fully automatic weapons. I've only witnessed open carry of a handgun twice though, both times by Flatlanders (you know who you are). One was an upper middle class guy walking around the supermarket with a highly customized Colt Government Model .45, and the other was some gangbanger homey punk with a Glock in a cheesy nylon holster at MacDonlads. In both cases, no one paid any attention.
Of more importance, in the state that voted for a Socialist (Sanders) with 65% of the vote, Screaming Howard, when he was Governor, using the same tactics currently employed in DC, failed to force a Single Payer, Gov't health care system on the state. The people didn't want it then, and they don't want it now. Claims to the contrary by Leahy and Sanders are total B.S.
Yes, this goes to show how pathetic and irrelevant the "left/right" narrative is. MSM (including Fox News) and hate radio jocks push this liberal-conservative farce that does not apply in the real world. it's a ruse used to perpetuate the two-party dictatorship.
And perhaps we shall return to that status soon; the Vermont secessionist ticket is being announced today at 2pm in Montpelier http://www.governorsteele.com
Lord, I hope not. I live here in VT and don't feel like moving just yet.
And Sen. Leahy is going to be challenged for his senate seat, by this guy…
http://www.lenbritton.com/index.php/issues
Who knows what tomorrow brings.
Besides Danny Glover's idiocy, I just read this morning on Hillicon Valley that White House budget director blames old computers for ineffective government. I guess they stopped blaming Bush and now blaming "Windows" for their blundering administration. I love laughing into my Friday morning coffee.
Good Luck with replacing Leahy!..I sure hope it happens,
all we can do is hope!! I'll never understand how these
pols get voted in year after year..
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northam...
That must be from another year..here is this year's
Hey this might Glover the position of Czar somewhere….If we ever see live on stage….Throw tomatoes., I just kind of consider Hollywood socialist and perverts now…except for Great Personalities like Chuck Norris and I can't think of any other Patriots right now. Glover needs an appointment with Michael Jackson's doctor and get some meds and scripts….I'll buy…wait no I won't…I'm giving $20 to the MA Brown Campaign.
WOW! I think that TX is considering it too. I had this idea for our WI County(s) to secede from the Socialist State of WI….and have an Inter-County Alliance….I know it's a stupid idea. This is huge news…I think it could work, but Vermont won't have access to Greenback dollars…
Oh Go on, he made a big mistake and he should have blamed an innocent toaster, while keeping his coffee pot as a suspect.
Aahhhh! The plot thickens. Robertson was incorrect…He should have said that Danny Glover made a pact with the devil..I've got so much info now and don't know what to do with it. Why does Glover speak ebonics, Mr Obama does't, unless he has to lie in another language. It was a LOL< Maalox moment all right.
We might have to confer with Harry Reid on this one, as it is above my pay grade. it could be because Glover is a darker skinned Nee-grow, so he can talk Ebonics.
Danny is proof that you can catch crazy. He has apparently worked one too many times with Mel Gibson.
Just came on the news that our fearless leader is heading to Mass….
Really?
How quaint! The Dahli Bama is headed to Mass.
We can only hope that they hand him his head on a platter this Tuesday…………
John Voight, Tom Selleck……..
Friday Free-For-All: Vermont Edition by Publius: I can't remember, is it New Hampshire or Vermont that elects one Democrat, one Republican, and one Communist? Not an independent, a Communist?
Regardless, I don't think China with want California or Vermont!
I have a feeling.
Has anyone noticed that Obama has not been there, campaigning for Martha Coakley? He doesn't want even to set foot in the state, for fear it will rub off on him, like Virginia and New Jersey did. This will be a fitting legacy for Ol' Drunken, Murdering Teddy. The Lion (Liar) of the Senate, the Hobbit of Healthcare, who hasn't fully moldered and rotted in his extra large sized coffin, to be replaced by a Republican.
There will be a collective gasp, heard clear to Washington. That is next Tuesday, a day after MLK Day. How fitting!
Close to 60 years ago, when almost all of Nedw England was GOP territory, Vermont was considered to be an "odd" state.
Fingers crossed. Dahli Bama, clever…
I used to live in MA and the thing that messes it up voting wise, in my opinion, is the enormous number of college aged voters…they have how many universities in MA??
Yes, he's showing up in Mass. on SUNDAY, but will have the same "help" in Mass., for Coakley, as he had in N.J., for Corzine, after going to Jersey five time.
She can be the hood ornament.
Cowboy, where have you been lately? I thought maybe your head had exploded.
No.
Was away for a bit on walk-about.
Nothing on the world stage will make my head explode, yet……….
That's awesome, and Scott Brown has raised at least $1 million dollars every day this week, most of it online. And he anticipates to continue right through til Tuesday.
It's getting exciting.
You have to grease the rails real good with cold hard cash to knock the Democrats' Machine off the tracks. Especially where it's been entrenched for the last 50 years.
So the money will help Mr. Brown immensely.
For 109 years straight, Vermont was governed by Republicans and always sent two Republican Senators to D.C. Then "Vermont – The Beckoning Country" happened and it's been a long, downhill slide ever since. They came from everywhere, New Jersey, New York, Pennsyltucky, Montrebec and beyond. The just HAD to get a whiff of the fresh air and those ice cold springs that provided an endless stream of water to every home. Yessir, they did all that and brought everything that's putrid about their State of origin with them! You have to search to find a Native Vermonter these days. I'm one of the few. And I'm outta here as soon as I can get retired.
