There simply is no other way to explain the statements of White House Chief of Staff Jacob Lew this morning on CNN's State of the Union. Lew was asked by Candy Crawley about a recent statement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicating he would not be bringing a...

They do resemble the robot idiots, that don't know what they are doing…I'm very curious as to what kind, and how much training, these TSA 'officials' have to go through! With as many mistakes that have been made, I'm pretty sure they take anyone off the street and give them a few instructions….nothing more, nothing less..

Airline safety should be turned over to the airlines. Have security at each gate and the people doing the checking rides along. I'd feel much better if the searchers had skin in the game. I would gladly trade 'food service' for security.
The alternative? Put a billy club in every seat back and lock the cockpit door. We'll handle it.
I was watching "Bullitt" the other day and it was like science fiction: at the San Francisco Airport, people just walked through the terminal doors, bought tickets, sat in the waiting area, and boarded the planes. No fuss, no terror (well, on account of the movie there was some gun play, a dead body that the travelers just eyed with a "he deserved it" sort of manner, and of course, Steve McQ playing chicken with an airliner out on the runway — entertainment, IOW). That's how it should be. It isn't. The terrorists have won. The Lindbergh era is over. Period.
More security or different management of security isn't the answer. We need something totally different, but it's kind of hard at this point to see any sort of evolution that may take place instead of the seemingly irreversible devolution ongoing now.
Also, I was in a homeless shelter in Mississippi a couple years ago; there was only one job advertised on the bulletin board for the residents. The TSA was hiring. Make of it what you will (I have no idea of the background screening it entailed or anything like that – the ad itself seemed to imply that if you signed up you got the job).
To hell with the billy club, put a nice ol' S&W .38 special there instead.
"An armed society is a polite society"
-President Andrew Jackson
Those of us with the size, strength and mental will must remain alert, not just on the plane but in the airports as well. Pay attention to your surroundings, know what you will do, what you are prepared to do and how you will do it. Do not put more of your security in the hands of others, than is necessary.
It's only a matter of time before some of these images show up on Youtube after some dimbulb-type working for TSA type, thinking it's funny, takes a cell phone pic and posts it, most probably of an obese or otherwise unusual torso.
It's the same as our border with Mexico, we should have the military do it. They are already getting paid, they aren't union, and they actually follow orders. Besides, a good military dog can sniff out explosives a whole helluva lot better than some union lacky sitting behind a monitor!
TSA claims they can't 'profile' passengers. By God I can!!
I was scheduled to take a test for a job with the TSA this past Saturday. I never showed up for it, out of sheer embarrassment.
We could call it the "3 P's" Profile, Prepare and Position
Looking at this picture reminds me of "Oh, no. Mr. Bill."
Could it get any better?
Like any bureaucratic enterprise you meet all kinds of people at the TSA. Some seem to actually care and appear competent. The majority of them seem to be just going through the motions. Just wait until they are unionized and firing one takes an act of God.
Think how more safe you'll feel when they are 'unionized'. Now back to the .38 idea.
besides the already mentioned take a leaf from isral's airlines screening processes, or make sure there's always someone armed on the plane at all times, either an Air marshal or flight crew.

Breitbart made #21 on Telegraph's list of top conservatives.
I see it coming….'12 will offer us 2 bad choices again. And so many say Beck's talk of a 3rd party is bad. It may be our only hope!!
I wonder if James and Hanna will make the list, that would be great!!
Which airline should we turn airline security over to? Braniff, TWA, Republic…maybe ValueJet? Maybe we should let them handle air traffic control while they are at it.
Airlines have their hands full moving people and freight. Security should be a specialize operation whose budget does not depend on ticket sales and collective bargaining agreements.
At this point isn't it sort of like playing musical chairs? When the music stops, you just don't want to be in the plane that has the Muslim terrorist. This guy will get off. Because during his trial, after he has learned through the process of discovery all of the states' secrets of how they look for possible terrorists, he will demand to try on the underwear. And when it doesn't fit, they will acquit! I've seen this movie, haven't I?
Lucky for us huh? We don't need that attitude at a security checkpoint.

If I've said once I've said it a thousand times; we lost the war on terror when we let our enemies (foreign and domestic) dictate the terms. For every action there is a reaction and this will escalate to a point where it will destroy our liberties for the illusion of security. Here's a novel idea; when the next attempt, sucessful of not, to commit a terrorist act occurs, find out where that person is from and remove his family, house, block, neighborhood, village from the face of the earth. We need to become the new terrorists. Allah Akbar!!!
We should Capt. Sully in charge of the TSA. At least we would know there's at least one competent person in the organization.
I remember Goldwater – we could try that again. 3rd party only works in the threat stage of a nomination process. As in "if you are the nominee, I'll run third party and you wont win." This is an old game. Events drive our elections the will of the people gets lost in translation because so many of these races are not competitive. Haiti will drive up Obamas popularity just the same way that the fruit of kaboom bomber drove it down. January 19 if Scott Brown wins – that will be another earthquake and Obama will be stopped cold.
We use to fly with guns – no big deal. Now you can't fly with a nail clipper. Are you/we safer?
Hell, you watch and see, the gov't will want to Unionize TSA.
It just doesn't make sense to have government workers unionized. Laws must be passed in every state to prohibit unions be tired to government workers.
I see both John Thune (SD) and Tom Coburn (OK) both made the list. They are good guys.
Sad to report but you are pretty close to the truth. I personally know people working as TSA 'agents' and believe me, it's very very scary.
Errol Souther is Obamas Nominee for the top job at TSA, He stated at com-nfirmation hearing that War on Terrorism was at Parity with Global Warming in importance. He stated since we had relations with Israel, the Infidels the Terrorists want to kill us. At the Hearing he lied, next day he confessed to it. Where does Obama find these people. THIS GUY SHOULD MAKE YOU FEEL SAFE IN THAT PLANE.
We have had redistributive wealth for years to the poor, rich, business, and government are we now watching the collapse of the middle class? Is the real bubble that was popped was the illusion of a middle class? Have we divided our country up into those that benefit from government and those who pay for it all?
Interesting quote/idea from the movie Swordfish (released less than 5 months before 9-11)
"Terrorist States Stanley, someone must bring their war to them. They bomb a church, we bomb a town.
They hijack a plane, we take out an airport. They execute American tourists, we tactically nuke an entire city. Our job is to make terrorism so horrific, that it becomes unthinkable to attack Americans."
The millions of law abiding citizens that legally carry everyday would work just as well, and won't even cost the taxpayer any extra.
We don't need the TSA type of security checkpoint, actually. If we must do something, then let's do it the Israeli way. They have a much better track record. Thomas Sowell explains why that's a good idea in a recent column called "'Notional' Security."
Me, I'm fortunate enough not to have to put up with this intrusion; I can and do drive wherever I have to go. And congratulations NoFlyList Lizzie! Hope you get a job you can be productive in and proud of!
It's crunch time in Massachusetts:
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view….
Get on the horn…call family and friends in MA….VOTE Jan.19…Scott Brown U.S.Senate. This is Big…very Big.
Now THAT"S what I'm talkin' bout!
Pull the plug on TSA and HS. Neither were worth a sh!t from the beginning. It's not the staffs fault, they just went and got a job and I refuse to hold that against anyone. They got their job as a result of a really crappy idea, and the spawning of a new bloated bureaucracy, an idea which should have been stomped to death while it was little and weak. Well they've only been around a few years, kill the program and throw it on a heap along with cap-n-trade, Health Care Reform, and Net Neutrality, where it belongs, in the bin. Set fire to the whole pile, then bury the ashes and then bury the gawd darned shovel. Enough ffs.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR REP AND SAY NO, NO TO ERROLL SOUTHERS AS HEAD OF TSA, OBAMA PICKS ANOTHER INCOMPETANT.
EMERGENCY IN HAITI, NO GOLF, NO SURFING, SHAVED ICE AND THE 3 DAY WAITING PERIOD, WHY?????
Cut their head off, shove it down the barrel of a cannon and shoot it at the next pirate ship we see.
I didn't think I would ever say this but after watching this video, I am relieved to see someone at CNN finally doing their job. Is the left starting to realize what they elected?

That's bullshit………………………………..he should be Top 10, easy.
You damn skippy brother.
Not if the American people feel like we're bailing out Haiti. That country is trashed and a few months' worth of supplies and manpower aren't going to do much for the infrastructure. I heard a "should Port Au Prince be rebuilt (in the same area)" question on the radio this AM and it brought to mind hurricane Katrina, and all THAT fallout.
Govt money going to Haiti, not an American city. For how long? How much?
And if a natural disaster befalls any US city, and there's "not enough money", forget about it.
Nothing odd about feeling safer with Playmobil toys in charge! Notice the one with the wand also has a gun?!
What's your prediction on the Mass. Special Senate election?
what the heck do you expect….these people are minimum wage workers, one step above mc'ds. most of them are third world degenerate illegals….the tax payer can not afford to have pros doing the job. so i guess we live with what big govt. gives us. march on you robots.
Where can I find the lego airport security set?
The children could entertain themselves for hours delaying would be terrorist grandpa's and little children on the no-fly list.
Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that many major insurance corporations were started during the early years of the progressive movement in the 20th century? Consider the names and years in which a few of these insurance companies were founded: Progressive-1937, All State-1931, State Farm-1922, Geico-1936. Hmmmm, one “progressive” and two that have “state” in their names, followed by Geico. Geico seems different from the others, correct? Yes, the name Geico seems to be different until you learn it is an acronym for Government Employees Insurance Corporation.
Does anyone else find it odd that these companies were started near the time the Federal Reserve was started? Let’s put two and two together. If you have a mortgage on a house it must be insured to protect you, correct, or is it to protect the BANK? If you have an auto loan on a vehicle, you are required to insure the vehicle to protect you correct, or is it to protect the BANK? (Here in my state, if you don’t have a lien on your vehicle, you are only required to carry liability insurance. If you cause a wreck you’re screwed and have to pay for your own vehicle yourself. Hmmmm.)
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or F.D.I.C, is in place to protect bank account holders, correct? Perhaps the F.D.I.C. exists to protect the Federal Reserve. Think about it. Does the F.D.I.C. exist to insure what a bank account holder CAN recover in bank failure or LIMIT what an account holder can recover, thus protecting what entity? The Federal Reserve.
I don’t know what this means exactly but it is interesting that the Federal Reserve came along and these insurance companies started popping up.
El Presidente has promised $100,000,000 (One Hundred MILLION) tax dollars for earthquake relief on top of the $3,000,000,000 (Three BILLION) we've sent to haiti since clitoon was in office to keep them on their island. You couldn't print enough money to shuffle into that despotic rat hole to make a difference to the suffering masses (They'll never see a cent)
Let us bring our own armament – just issue the proper caliber of frangible ammo at the gate…. problem solved…..and at a considerable finacial savings.
There is without a doubt some racial profiling going on in that lego-scene. I've already called the ACLU about it, and they are PISSED!

stats, money and the law are not in browns favor. I hope brown wins but it depends on the weather, cold and ice could save a nation.
I'm not so sure. It's looking better all the time.
http://friendsoftheconstitution.cs2webservices.co...
If move on and acorn is involved then bus operations will be in place. Independents could save the day, but these are not mid western independents..The high independent group declares a high dissatification of the two parties and thus show go for the republican. Young people have been more in favor of the HC, but are less likely to vote in a special election.. the national attention is the great unknown.. I admit it looks good, but Mass. is the land of lib. If brown wins BO is done.
I was not aware that young people were in support of health care reform. I'm not disputing your claim, but it doesn't make any sense to me. They stand more to lose by this than anyone.
I am basing off the libs I talk to. and the interviews on TV. most are uninformed on what is going on. they have chosen to believe the lies. They almost always say there should be HC for everyone even though this bill doesn't do that. they have no clue they could be forced to pay. Most believe it is going to be free.
You should know better than to take a libs word for anything. They can't be trusted with the truth (or money, or government, or children, or…well, you get the idea). That's not to say that what you said isn't true. It may well be. I do know some younger people who have their heads screwed on right though. Hopefully they will be the ones who show up at the polls.
just a few more days and we will find out..I hope for best, and victory will mean people are waking up, but I not holding my breath.
Don't use the gray matter so much, you will wear it out.
ps both points have MY gray matter in motion
Using the gray matter leads to more gray matter, les_gvt.
since I don't have a degree from Hah-vud or Yell, I didn't think I was "entitled" to any more gray matter. I thought it was reserved for only the truly edgumaketed interllekljuls that always think twicet before they act on their idears
Les, it is obvious you don't have a degree from Harvard or where ever. The thing that isn't obvious is your point in your reply to my post. Would you kindly share your point with me? I guess I just don't get it.

I was being sarcastic. There are many that think if you didn't go to a select group of "proper" schools, you are no better educated than a box of rocks.
The problem with these "intellectual Mecca's" however is that while they may inform you of the molecular structure of an Amebic platypus ringworm ant ( if there is such a thing), they don't teach you how to use your God given common sense to walk in out of the rain
Agreed, les.
Interesting concept, thanks. I have been doing a little research on the subject as well since reading your blog post. I will keep on looking and have found one thing of interest.
AIG was established in 1919 for instance. AIG is an interesting example and I think is more closely linked to the Federal Reserve than any other possibly, due to the recent take over by the Federal Reserve, I mean Government and the suspicious too big too fail status. Their insurance for the most part changed its focus from personal insurance to high-margin corporate coverage. In the United States, AIG is the largest underwriter of commercial and industrial insurance. In 2008 the Federal Reserve Bank announced the creation of a secured credit facility of up to US$85 billion, to prevent the company's collapse by enabling AIG to meet its obligations secured by the stock in AIG-owned subsidiaries, in exchange for warrants for a 79.9% equity stake, and the right to suspend dividends to previously issued common and preferred stock.
The Federal Reserve owns 79.9 % of AIG, a bailout that supposedly we Americans (and our future generations) foot the bill with interest for but never actually own the stock ever. That is like buying a home against your will, one that you're never allowed to live in it but you have to pay the mortgage on it from year 1- infinite generations with no hope of ever owning it. Plus you don't get to write-off the interest! It is worse than stealing.
Interesting: Still billions are going to Banks from AIG!
A news story from today: After Rocky First Year, Geithner Faces Another Test in AIG Bailout Hearing
FOXNews.com
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is investigating deals that diverted billions of AIG bailout dollars to banks, including Goldman Sachs. Geithner has agreed to testify next week, accepting an invitation from the committee's chairman, Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y.
