Left Attacks the Messenger: Hide the Decline in Rasmussen Polls
by PubliusFrom Politico:

Democrats are turning their fire on Scott Rasmussen, the prolific independent pollster whose surveys on elections, President Obama’s popularity and a host of other issues are surfacing in the media with increasing frequency.
The pointed attacks reflect a hardening conventional wisdom among prominent liberal bloggers and many Democrats that Rasmussen Reports polls are, at best, the result of a flawed polling model and, at worst, designed to undermine Democratic politicians and the party’s national agenda.
On progressive-oriented websites, anti-Rasmussen sentiment is an article of faith. “Rasmussen Caught With Their Thumb on the Scale,” blared the Daily Kos this summer. “Rasmussen Reports, You Decide,” the blog Swing State Project recently headlined in a play on the Fox News motto.
“I don’t think there are Republican polling firms that get as good a result as Rasmussen does,” said Eric Boehlert, a senior fellow with Media Matters, a progressive research center. “His data looks like it all comes out of the RNC (Republican National Committee).”
“Whether intended or not, Rasmussen polls have been used by conservative voices as talking points, and when that happens on one side it inevitably produces a reaction from the other,” explained Mark Blumenthal, a polling analyst and the editor and publisher of Pollster.com. “Rasmussen produces a lot of data that appear to produce narratives conservatives are promoting, and that causes a reaction.”
While Scott Rasmussen, the firm’s president, contends that he has no ax to grind — his bio notes that he has been “an independent pollster for more than a decade” and “has never been a campaign pollster or consultant for candidates seeking office” — his opponents on the left insist he is the hand that feeds conservative talkers a daily trove of negative numbers that provides grist for attacks on Obama and the Democratic Party.
Nothing, however, sets off liberal teeth gnashing more than Rasmussen’s daily presidential tracking polls, which throughout the year have consistently placed Obama’s approval numbers around 5 percentage points lower than other polling outfits.
“He polls less favorably for Democrats, and that’s why he’s become a lightning rod,” said Charles Franklin, a University of Wisconsin political scientist who studies polling. “It’s clear that his results are typically more Republican than the other person’s results.”
On Saturday, Dec. 26, for example, Rasmussen’s daily tracking had Obama’s approval at 44 percent, with a disapproval figure of 56 percent. A Real Clear Politics compilation of other pollsters, meanwhile, showed Obama with an average approval figure of 49.5 percent and disapproval of 45.1 percent.
Read the whole article here. The level of partisan hackery achieved by Media Matters is truly noteworthy. As we’ll explain to their funders this year, the organization is no longer credible; even in the hot crucible of DC’s partisan machine, MM is a joke. If you give money to them, the joke is on you.

If the numbers were the other way the dems would be praising the poll.
Oh, those poor whiny little babies. Rasmussen's poll was quoted as gospel by the left while George W. Bush was in office and it showed his unfavorable results. I guess if it's not news they want to hear or results they like, the progressive-socialists don't want to believe it and will deride it.
The Dems are using this as another crisis to be "created" to deflect the real problems in America and the real problem lies within the Democratic Socialist Party or better known as the Democratic Party here in the U.S.

Suddenly Gibbs et al are concerned over the power of crayons!
Libs "gnash" their teeth at Rasmussin because they can't control the narrative. Like global warming it's heads I win, tails you lose. Common sense tells me that these numbers are true given the unemployment numbers, Obamacares' unpopularity and Cap and Trades' frightening hike in energy prices for everybody. But like the liberal agenda, common sense goes out the window anyway.
Preemptive move by the left. They know new lows are coming.
I am so tired of the cry-baby leftist! Is there not one of them, happy about anything??? I have never seen so many people, with so much hatred, for anybody that doesn't believe everything they say! They ned to quit their belly-aching about everything, or else their primary base of liberals, will wonder what is going on!
Unless they have evidence, they have nothing, and they have no evidence, so they have nothing. So something "looks like" this or "looks like" that. So? If that's the new standard, libtards, then why can't we profile folks as they board airplanes? Morons.
Just another distraction to remove our attention from the handling of events by the Obambi administration this last week. Funny how Rush's chest pains drew more attention than Obambi.
The Democrats better pay attention to the voters because wallets are light and socialism in America is going to cut it. Why can't the Democrats understand, We Americans do not want to be like Europe and socialism! How hard is that to understand. We (or the ones who aren't on entitlements with other taxpayers money being used), are able and willing to work for our future. Big government doesn't need to provide for us and our livelyhood. I can handle the economic situtation presented by myself.
Who can tax you? Who can ? The Government can!

their credibility is in question??? when the Demorats do not praise the Rasmussen poll numbers on the left side of the chart when Obama clearly had a much more favorable rating….oh, I guess that was a Republican decision to show how popular he was in the beginning, and then slowly show erosion day after day, as we saw Obama on TV everyday spending all his political capital giving another campaign speech….instead of working at his desk in the oval office……no work no results!
consider the Rassmussen poll numbers a reflection of how much Obama has actually accomplished — a barometer of Obama actions/achievements verusus just more political rhetoric…..Congress must be stopped.
While republicans rejoice in the news that the democrats are crumbling under their corruption they ignore the fact they a third party to party that doesn’t exists. It is the party system that is corrupt and needs to cease to exist, before country ceases to exist. Country before party before there is no country.
Exactly! Look at the numbers at the beginning of the poll. There was only bragging going on about how high the approval ratings were for the chosen one. Hmmm, were the polls wrong then too?
This is no surprise, and for the moment is laughably ridiculous just how much progressives/liberals will scream and cry like little children when they're not getting their way.
However, it is clear that this administration wants to control all flow of information, whether that be television, internet, radio, etc. If they get their way, the people over at Media Matters will no longer have to complain, because polls which reflect poorly on Democrats/progressives/liberals will no longer be allowed.
It's scary just how close we are to truly state-run media.
Rasmussen is hated by the left because they only measure "Likely Voters". Many polls like Gallup measure "Adults", several polls do "Registered Voters", but Rasmussen asks questions to reasonably discern if who they are polling is a likely voter. Since the likely voter tends to be more informed than the masses in general, Rasmussen usually has a higher showing for the right than the other polls. This earns them the distinction of being one of the more accurate pollsters (when it comes to actual elections), as well as the ire of being the left's "right-wing" pollster.
I'm pretty sure Rasmussen is hitting a very sore spot. I was around a lot of libs at parties in the past two weeks. None of them had anything good to say about anything as usual. But the interesting thing was that they had bad things to say about BO. They all seemed kind of depressed. I had a wonderful time agreeing with them.
::yawn:: textbook liberal tactics at work here.
Could it be that we are witnessing a "flameout" of the early 21st century progressive movement?
When Bush was President polls didn't matter.
talk about buyers remorse, a majority judged a book by its cover, what now Jefferson
BO proves the law of unintended consequences.
Many other polls only measure ACORN volunteers.
The White House is filled by sorority sisters. What time of the month is it?
Rasmussen polls likely voters, not just adults… so youth and other opinionated types who rarely vote… like a lot of the idiots who got Obama elected…. don't show up in Rasmussen's numbers.
This is the same as Obummer's Alinskyite attacks on Rush Limbaugh and Fox News- they are only outliers because most of the others are in the bag for Obama and the Left… so they aim to discredit them.
Let's just see how Rasmussen's numbers line up against the poll results next November… when the disguisted and engergized electorate disembowels the power-drunk Democrats, that should settle the issue, eh?
http://reaganiterepublicanresistance.blogspot.com...
Think about it. Polls are taken from a cross section of people in this country. If they called each and every citizen, I can guarantee you Obongo's rating would be in the -49 range. 15,000 people in the Ramussen poll is only the icing on a cupcake. The dems know this and I hope each and every Congressman has nightmares when they think about this November.
Thats why we need to stay vigilant for fraud, intimidation and a "fake" crisis so our rights are not taken away by a martial law edict come this fall. Yes, they will feel our wrath. There is much wortk to be done folks if we are to save this country.
I remember being polled during the Clinton impeachment era. It was impossible to answer any of the questions the way I wanted to. I guess libs know a lot about thumbs and a lot about scales.
All I've got to say, it tickles me to think Rasmussen is making the Dems soooo unhappy.
This post made my day!!! And reading the excuses and whining of the Dems will make
it even a happier day.
Rasmussen polls likely voters, not just adults… so youth and other opinionated types who rarely vote… like a lot of the idiots who got Obama elected…. don't show up in Rasmussen's numbers.
Truth hurts, eh?
http://reaganiterepublicanresistance.blogspot.com...
It's leftists' intellectual laziness catching up to them. How many times have we heard, when experts provide objective evidence against the threats of AGW, they are simply dismissed as oil company toadies? (I think there is a Soros website dedicated to that one bit of propagandist self-abuse.) How many time do we hear the response that those who oppose the homosexual agenda (i.e. Fistgate), are themselves closeted.
indeed! tumb+scale = acorn
Americas first muslim president is failing.
Rasmussen has had it right since he came on the scene, quality poll that calls it like it is, oh well for Barry.
"Preemptive move by the left. They know new lows are coming. "
I spewed coffee when I read this. Beautiful!
I will be glad when the left fails and both leftist government parties fall into the trash heap of history.
The republicans got BO elected so you are right on this one.
The problem with attacking polls is that you do so at your own peril. I've seen conservatives attack polls on the basis of their sampling, selection, question wording, and so on but, while they are never entirely accurate, the trends shown in polls often pan out better than what the poll critics claim is really happening. To a large degree, these attacks on polls are wishful thinking based on a need to believe that the way someone wishes things were going or personally thinks they are going is more accurate than the poll results when the reality is that the personal or anecdotal evidence and the impressions that people get from reading the news, attending protest marches, or reading blogs and message boards doesn't have the breadth and diverse sampling of the data that pollsters collect at significant expense.
To some degree, it's like the (probably apocryphal) account of Pauline Kael's surprise at Nixon being elected in 1972 because, "Nobody [she knew] voted for him." Just because you know people and read blogs that overwhelmingly have a particular opinion doesn't mean that the rest of the country shares those opinions and people ignore polls and poling trends at their own peril. On the other side, people also count on polls being true at their own peril, too.
Need some cheese with that wine? 2010 elections they will say it was the poll that did them in, let's give them reason to believe!
It was the dumb white boy and the elders who thought that hope and change was the answer in the last election….now they know what hope and change is all about…they won't vote that way again.
I thought Republican smear tactics were ridiculous. "Progressives" are re-writing the books when it comes to clownish, childish ad hominem attacks.
Didn't read the linked part, but I notice that one of the things that the Dem's seem to complain about most is that this poll shows people unhappy with the Democratic Party itself, not just the 'stars' of the moment. As if the Party is somehow NOT a reflection of the 'stars' of the moment. As if there is some kind of expectation that just by being the Democratic Party, it is above being criticized or called to task for screwing up.
Sorry Dem's, you're just people like everyone else, and people screw up. Some more then others, and you guys are rewriting the record books at the moment.
Regardless of the poll results, libs just cannot believe that people are against their agenda. They don't want truthful polls, they want propaganda polls.
Rasmussen was the most accurate pollster of the 2008 election –
http://www.fordham.edu/images/academics/graduate_...
I believe they may also have been the most accurate in 2004, but I can't find data to back that up.
In 2012, Rasmussen will be THE most watched poll.
I have a hard time buying this criticism of Rasmussen because I have seen too many stories showing how almost all of the other pollsters, most notably the Washington Post, are still oversampling Democrats in their polls. Isn't Rasmussen the one whose pre-election numbers have historically proven to the the closest once the real votes are counted?
Too many people do not realize 1) how pollsters try to poll certain percentages of people based upon how they see those people represented in the general population, and 2) that Rasmussen polls *likely* voters rather than just every schmoe out there. I believe Rasmussen's numbers more than anyone else's with good reason.
yep — funny how that works out, huh? Scott's a reliable pollster 'cause he and his methods are **honest** — and that can't sit well with ax, the ballerina, etc. …
Liberalism is a mental sickness that civilized nations can no longer tolerate.
These people function on emotions, not logic, reason, and common sense.
Their moral relativism recognizes no absolutes. They believe their evil ideas are morally equivalent to ideas based truth. Their emotional agenda is all that matters to them; facts and the truth are irrelevant.
Their touchy-feely feminist ideas of “diversity”, “multi-culturalism”, and “political correctness” are destroying our country.
Why do we legitimize their arguments by engaging them in civilized debate?
These people should be dismissed as irrelevant as are their tired, failed, ideas that have been relegated to the ash heap of history.
We know the liberals suck. Scott is just measuring how bad they suck.
I think team Obama with Pelosi, Reid and Frank will destroy the democratic party once and for all. It's too bad because at one time liberals were laissez-faire capitalists. I hope that people realize the big government republicans need to go too. The American people know the liar Obama is when it comes to true reform. At least Palin had a credible track record of reform. You don't need to have a Harvard degree to realize big government is a burden on the people.
I just read the Rasmussen daily tracking poll site. It has links to his raw data, actual wording of the poll questions and methodology. Perhaps the libs would like him better if he just supported their narrative, destroyed the raw data, and obscured his methodology with just enough obtuse metrics to gain credibility from weak minded individuals who have emotionally bought a superficial feel good movement (aka. like the man made global warming believers).
Old adage but very fitting for liberals and despot Dems regarding Rassmussen poll: "The truth hurts"
What the people need to do in order to decide for themselves is to look at Rasmussen's estimates on the last two presidential elections. THeyt will find he was closer than most.
I believe this is because he doesn't taint his results with an oversampling of democRATS like the others do.
Well, this tactic of attacking Rasmussen just doesn't work. The problem is all the other polls show the same numbers, sometimes (like CNN) even wor! Check out Pollster.com: http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/healthplan.php
Polls only count to the democRats and their bootlickers in the media when they are going bad against Republicans.

Are these the same democrats who insisted on the investigation into the alleged corruption of global climate data?
This article points out the flaws in political based polling in the first place. The only way to get clear, unbiased polling is to set up a government program that would absolutely and unequivocally prevent bias from ever influencing the pollsters and the use of the data.
Perhaps, in fairness to everyone involved, we could have ACORN run the polls. After all, they are a community based organization with no known bias or ax to grind. And they really like to help people – vote, set up prostitution rings with under aged illegal aliens, scam a government mortgage program, and other interesting and non-biased endeavors.
Yep, the only way we can know for sure that it is on the level is if the feds set up a polling arm, just like the census. Then it will all be fair and even-handed.
It's just a poll. Want reality? Call us yourselves. Can you find anyone who doesn't regret voting for him?
Government workers & teachers first ones to keep there Jobs, thanks to Stimulus for them & most even got raises too boot !
I'm sure they love the crap out of Obama, until they get laid off, then ALL POLLS go south.
This is a laugh riot–the Dems are running scared!
Not in office a month, O-be-be told Congress they should not be listening to Rush Limbaugh.
Next we have him going after Fox News.
Now it is Rasmussem!
Face up to it boy, it's you not the rest of the people!

Typical leftist TRASH. Could the filth be any worse than the filth on these scumbags? They are all going and going so fast this year and now that it is 2010, they are waking up to that fact. Bye pigs!
Can you say 35% approval? (Only self-described Democrats, in, say another 9 months.)
I'll bring "Italian" sausage.
While I have voted consistently Republican most of my life, I have often done so with nose consciously held. I do not regret voting for Bush one bit, though I would rather have had Cheney. McCain was a worse choice than Bush, if only for his absolute refusal to protect our own borders. But I am more than ready for a third party or more parties several of which are viable, or no party. We need ordinary citizens to stand for election, and to turn government "service" into true government service and not a life long ride on the gravy train. But we need for them to be solid, sane people, or at least a majority of them.
There are some Republicans who will gladly serve this way, as many of them do have lives outside politics, and some have served and then gone back to private work. I don't know of any Democrats I think would willingly do this unless by "private" they mean NGOs, law firms, lobbying or consulting to the government for big fees.
Why do we legitimize their arguments by engaging them in civilized debate?
These people should be dismissed as irrelevant as are their tired, failed, ideas that have been relegated to the ash heap of history.
Were it only so simple. They need to be opposed and intellectually defrocked everywhere they appear. If they are allowed to proceed without debate, our uneducated citizenry will believe that they can vote themselves free money if they elect Leftists. (Yes, I know, they already believe this…) These scum are dangerous and energetic. They cannot be left to their own devices without direct, vigorous opposition.
Nice.
Weird. Usually sarcasm won't work in this format. Well done!
Ah yes. If only they (media and politicians) had waited another fifteen years enough of us would have been dribbling in our Depends that the memory of a free America could be dismissed as the ravings of a few Alzheimers patients.
Dems reaction to criticism is to smear the messenger. When they get around to a reality check, they'll find that they are only ones without mud on their jerseys. If only we could make them do the laundry.
"If I can't adjust/homogenize the polling numbers they must not be right." -DNC
Agree. Dems ignore it at their own risk.
This crew really believes Big Government needs to be imposed on the American people. Their mentors taught them this in college and their were no opposing voices. This is their reality. They now hold the levers of power. Big Government is a disease, and this crew is feeding it steroids.
I think it may be worse than that. Dems can't believe that people are so stupid (in their condescending estimation) that they don't understand the genius humanitarian virtue in all of their policies. Dems actually believe that they know how we should live our lives, and if only we would listen to them Utopia would be that much closer. When the Dems read these polls they marvel at us morons that don't like their policies.
I think he just faces the nearest mirror.
Yep, their party name is a bit of Newspeak in which they believe. They only think it's democracy when THEY hold power.
In fact I think a Harvard degree makes it harder to realize big government is a problem. Especially a Government degree, which teaches you how to do all those really important things like get people to do what you "know" is right for them.
I'll bring the marshmallows, Hershey bars and graham crackers.
Yep, the very same ones. Imagine that!
Yah we here in Upper Flyover country it's -21 right now
Isn't time for the rational citizens of the United States to get together and hire an attorney to file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY for their joint gross negligence in allowing an ineligible and Constitutionally unqualified person to run as a candidate for the Office of the President? The democrats are complicit in their negligence for sponsoring Barack Obama who because of his father should not have ever been allowed to run for the Office of President! The republicans for acting like cowardly pansies towards the democrats by failing to take issue about Barack Obama's father and Obama's inability to run for president! Folks this is serious business for every law Obama signs, every act he does as the illegal president….is illegal! This illegal president is unlawfully going to waste four years of America's time if the people and the rest of congress don't wake up!
You are right on and I just posted same on my blog just yesterday and as mentioned earlier Rasmussen has been the most accurate for quite some time. The trend movement is down down down…..sorry libs!
The Conservative Edge
get a grip people obama wont get elected next time . alot of people wanted change but it wasnt the change we got. most people wont admit it but it will show in the next election
Why wouldn't the poll numbers be right. The constant bashing Obama takes from the media will turn voters away from the Democratic Party. Didn't you people know, the media, big business, and corporate America run this country. And drones like the posters on this board fall for it hook, line, and sinker. The stupidity of the people in this country constantly amazes me. You are pigs going to slaughter and applauded all the way along. Sad, sad, sad.
Absolutely! He only worships one thing – himself.
Look this is not new. If I were Rasmussen I'd say look LISTEN to your constituents. If the Dems don't and the falling numbers are a result the only fault is idiot, moronic, self important leftwing idiots who cannot handle the truth. They are incapable of rational thought. I am related to more than one and I know.
The polls must be racist!!! Regards, REV Al, REV Wright, and REV Jesse
And I used to be one of those people. Then I graduated from college, got married, had kids…and became more conservative every step along the way. Something about understanding that I am responsible for myself, which is more than the Dems can say they believe about their own constituents.

In an earlier post, I said the DEMON-RATS would be making my day, lol. Thanks Joe!!!
What would be amusing is if the people whingeing now about how unfair the poll numbers are were the same ones who were crowing about "dead-enders" when Bush's poll numbers were low. Karma, she is rather cruel at times.
Joe, I agree that the media, big business, and corporate america have a platform and the dollars to influence policy to a much greater extent than you or me with our periodic single vote at the ballot box, but if they "ran" the country why aren't they collectively getting a larger and larger slice of nation's GDP? On the contrary, government is incrementally taking more of the GDP as a percentage and regulating more and more of private industry every year regardless of the party in power. Even under president Bush, the budget and government personnel dedicated to regulating the private sector increased. Also, I have to point out that the media nor corporate america can use force to compel any of us to do anything we don't want to. On the other hand, the government is about to compel the free people of the United States to buy health insurance and will back it up with the IRS collecting directly from our bank accounts and possibly imposing jail time at the barrel of a gun if we don't comply. We may all be pigs going to the slaughter, but evil big business is not leading us there nor running the slaughter house.
Can't wait! It actually makes me giddy!

liberals loved the poll until mid june then they started touting the push polls as defense of obozo
its just more LIBERAL HYPOCRISY to go along with the LIBERAL LIES, VITRIOL AND HATE toward the Real Americans as represented by rasmussen and the other polls the shows that America is rejecting obozo
liberals are freaking out cuz the defense of obozo is not working

I think if we were to poll welfare recipients, useless government workers, International socialists and rich elitists with their money already well hidden form the taxman his numbers would be much higher.
I listen to a progressive talk radio station from time to time (usually during commercials on Glenn Beck) and find the same thing. The progressives are unhappy about BO, only for different reasons.
My! My! My! Will you look at that. The truth is causing pain for somebody out there! I've been down thumbed! The lefties are always so childish!
LIberals hate the truth and dispise and attack anyone who disagrees with them. Nothing new here.

Now that's funny.
I live on the East Coast and there is a lot of that Man Made Global Warming hitting us right now.
Dems hate not debate! By the way Florida's new strict ID/ Drivers licenses require a Birth Certificate and will not accept a certificate of live birth. It turns out a certificate of live birth is not worth the paper it is written on. So I must be a "birther". All this scumbag has to do is contact the Hawaii dept of vital statistics to get one. Hate not debate dems! Oh that is right this is settled science sort of like the dem/left science(political science) of global warming. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Now as far as polls go the dems know that rasmussen is the most accurate. For decades, at least in presidental politics, the dems are always ahead by 25 to 30 points then all the dem polsters narow the gap gradually(to the rasmussen numbers) as the election nears. This way they have some credibility so they can do the same the next election. Look at the 2000 and 2004 exit polls too! Dems are a lie and a joke on this great country they are now trying to destroy. Notice to all dems you must hate not debate.
Sincerity and open truthfulness scare the DemLibs to death. It is counter to their worldview.
hilarious, the seams are coming apart. And all they can do is attack the messenger.

In a world of propaganda, this is not shocking perps like media matters and the daily kos coming out of the wood work. Beck is doing this administration in, and others are too it really is hilarious. The ineptitude is completely baffling
Guess I would settle for a President who just had common sense.
No one can deny that Rasmussen is the most accurate of pollsters. Their superior methodology is right to be admired by all other firms.
See a further analysis of the Approval Index, which includes a weighted Polarization Index (shows how divisive Obama is) at:

I have known for years that Rasmussen leans right. For any thinking person, it's not even a question! They used to provide full info about Bush's strongly disapprove, approve, and lukewarm approval and disapproval polling results. They combined the two approval results to let us know about George Bush's approval numbers vs disapproval. Once Obama got elected, they stopped that, and started with the comparison only between strongly approve and strongly disapprove, a comparison that would have been deadly for Bush. They chose to change to that comparison because they lean right, and it makes Obama look worse.
They really do hate the truth, don't they!
Logical Thinker…you aren't! The truth is the truth and your spinning won't make it different.
Although the Right has managed to turn our democracy into a Idiotocracy ( one tea baggers sign warned the Government to keep its hands off of Medicare) there is small signs that some intelligence is being forced into the thinking in Washington, led by President Obama.
The biggest problems are the Bush Tax cuts and his Wars which will remain the major contributor to the deficient through 2020.
Greed and avarice are not constitutional rights, fortunately the death rattle is louder, contributions to the democrats are triple what the Republicans have collected, an unusual situation which could lead to more seats being picked up Dems giving the Obama ideas a chance to grow in the manure Bush and Cheney left behind.
Fox News has been outspoken against NObama and was called a not legitimate news source… Expect Rasmussen to soon be labeled a not legitimate poll.
"Although the Right has managed to turn our democracy…"
It's a republic, not a democracy. Look it up.
"…tea baggers…"
I draw your attention to my earlier assertion regarding leftists' ready willingness to employ homosexual innuendo.
"The biggest problems are the Bush Tax cuts and his Wars which will remain the major contributor to the deficient through 2020."
Cēterīs paribus (look it up), tax cuts tend to increase tax revenue. As for the wars, I quote Will Smith, "Don't start none, there won't be none."
"Greed and avarice are not constitutional rights…"
A hyperbolic straw man argument, which also happens to be false. Where in the Constitution does it say the federal government has the power to limit which emotions people may feel?
The rest of your post is incoherent blather not worthy of a response. Public opinion disfavors both the current White House occupant, and the current congress. We shall see.
The media??? They have all but taken his pants down and dissed his a$$!! The msm is completely useless, just like their Savior in Chief!!

If I ama T.E.A. bagger- that makes you a teabaggee- so open your mouth, troll.
What's good for the goose…
CPI non-partisan? Laughable. The CPI is non-partisan the way that ACORN is non-partisan.
If you attempting to refute the thesis of the article, which is that leftists are attempting to defame Rasmussen, it doesn't help your case by citing an example of leftists attempting to defame Rasmussen.
But the proof is in the pudding, and Slate, that bastion of right-wind propaganda, had sufficient integrity to issue a mea culpa and acknowledged that Rasmussen pwned the competition in 2004, after they bashed Rasmussen's methodology.

I guess, for liberals, a poll is only accurate if they agree with it. Imagine the disappointment they’re going to feel when the voters are at the polls next November. Hmm…
Isn't this the thesis? Are denying Rasmussen didn't work for the Bush administration?
"Democrats are turning their fire on Scott Rasmussen, the prolific independent pollster whose surveys on elections…"
"While Scott Rasmussen, the firm’s president, contends that he has no ax to grind — his bio notes that he has been “an independent pollster for more than a decade” and “has never been a campaign pollster or consultant for candidates seeking office” — his opponents on the left insist he is the hand that feeds conservative talkers a daily trove of negative numbers that provides grist for attacks on Obama and the Democratic Party."
Again …. According to the non-partisan Center for Public Integrity, Rasmussen has been a paid consultant for the RNC and President Bush's 2004 campaign. The RNC paid Rasmussen $95,500 between 2003 and 2004 for items listed as "survey," "survey cost" and “voter data.” Bush's campaign paid Rasmussen $45,500 for "survey research."
And again, the CPI is not a non-partisan organization. Moreover, the claims that CPI, even if true, do not contradict the undisputed accuracy of earlier Rasmussen polls.
they can try to hide it all they want,it's not going away no matter how hard they try.
I just can't wait for the real poll—-November cannot come soon enough!
Rasmussen polls likely voters while the other pollsters poll everybody. Rasmussen's approach is more accurate in predicting actual election outcomes. The difference is that the other polls are more heavily weighted towards the young, illegal immigrants, and other similar groups who tend to vote at lower rates but tend to be more leftist.
Saddam H didnt believe his generals when they told him USA wasright outside of Bagdad "WAKE UP "this is a dictatorship

How does Rasmussen count the people who decline to take the poll? Do they split it down the middle? Do they leave they out of the math all together? It matters because the personality traits that makes one conservative, also makes them less likely to take a poll. While a liberal personality is more likely to take a poll.
