The Alhambra is one of my favorite places on the planet. The Moors created their version of Paradise, with fountains and flowers and running water all over, not to mention the gorgeous arabesques in tile, which are vibrant even today.

You can go to the Alhambra at night, where they've got the lights down low, and it is by gum the most romantic place you could ever find.

You are correct, it does depend on ones perspective. From my perspective, 500 years later in America, 1492 was a very good year.
I can understand why the Spanish Crown would want the Kingdom to adhere to its faith. You know, a house divided and so on. The British Crown is doomed for such a reason. America is doomed if we don't wake up to the fact that the Koran is antithetcal to the Constitution.

the story of the Armada off loading swarthy Spaniards onto the green hills of Ireland is a good story, but not true. Any Spaniard that landed onshore, either Scotland or Ireland, was immediately massacred by locals and by English soldiery.

So, we are back to the Jewish diaspora. A lot of those on the Spanish piers in 1492 were invited by rulers in the various Germanies to go NORTH, which many of them did.

The real sufferer in all this? Spain. But any country that treats its Jewish population in this way has a very hard time of it. G-d makes sure of that.
