by PubliusToday, President Barack Obama makes a pit-stop in Oslo, Norway to pick up the Nobel Peace Prize.
We really don’t have anything else to say on this surreal event. Sure, we could list all the heroes who never received such an accolade or point out the strikingly thin justifications for Obama’s award, but that would assume the prize carries any value at all anymore. Perhaps, long ago, it was a serious achievement. No longer.

Krugman got his Nobel the same way, for being a socialist.
Interesting fact. The fine folk in the fijords in Norway are unhappy with recent Prize winner Barrack Hussein Obama. It seems part of the tradition has always been for the recepient to have dinner with the King of Norway. Mr. Obama has "dissed" the ol' King, and refused the dinner invite. Just blew him off.
Isn't that just like an ungrateful ingrate? Get awarded a Prize, and take the loot and scoot……….
Is it possible for Obama to diss any other Western European head of State? Hmmm…? I wonder if he has a list and is marking them off as he alienates them?
Let's see, England–check! Germany–check! France–check! Norway–just give me my Nobel and STFU-check! Who's next? The Pope?

I really want to know what kind of a kickback he is going to get for his donation of the 1.4 million prize. We know that nothing is done by Obama without something coming home.
I wonder if the Nobel selection commitee will consider a shared prize for Benito Mussilini, Adolph Hitler, and Nevel Chamberlain, post mordem of course, for their efforts to bring a "lasting Peace" to Europe and the world.

Obummer really made a big mistake with his speech. He forgot to bow down to somebody. Why even bother getting involved with European traditions? Why don't we give a great award to other nations, such as the Peace Prize? Fortuneately, the Nobel Prize isn't distributed by Russia, as their definition of "Peace" is: the expansion of Communism….There will never be any peace until The Lord Returns…becuz: 'The heart of man is on evil continually'.
Nobel would be saying "What the F did this guy do again?"
I am Norwegian, and are not even watching – ITS SAHARADE. I just tell the American people, those who gave him the price wish you the become a socialist/ communist state. Therfore Carter and Gore got it. Not the honorable Ronald Reagan. Then they want him to sign a climate treaty overriding your GREAT CONSTITUTION. There is a junior partner in government [SV], anti American, which was friends with DDR, became environmentalist the night the Berlin Wall fell. They have had Castro as their role model for 50+ years, and want to have a trade boycott Israel. Has membership in the Nobel Comity, a really creepy "lady." They do not want to boycott Burma, because the generals are also socialists.
We in Europe rely on Christian, conservative and libertarian Americans to save us from climate mafia, and resurgence of communism. Then America should pull out of UN (a criminal enterprise] throw them out of New York, suggest Havana (Reagan asked them to move to Moscow). Like the International Criminal Court had one purpose to prosecute American – and Israeli officials. They even tried through Belgium’s court system. The left in Europe is behind it. Their goal is to break the American economy and your freedom. That’s what has prevented from making progress. Now they love Obama, they are in bed with Muslim countries and any haters of America and Israel. God Bless America. I am a conservative, libertarian and a Christian. A twist of irony here, President Obama accepts the Nobel Prize for literally nothing more than his "talk" about peace just days after planning the deployment of 30,000 more troops to Afganistan. He should have been man enough to say "no thank you, I don't deserve this award" but couldn't pass up the opportunity to slam the United States on the world stage.

There's a hearing today of the Congressional Oversight Panel, with Geithner on the stand at 10am. It's hard to watch him squirm, but I'll bet he gets some good questions. Watch how Every time he's asked anything of substance, he goes back to "We inherited the worst…" and when the panel tries to stop him, he says "Wait! This is important! I have to explain this one thing!" and then filibusters the rest of the time – he's a real pro at dodging answers
I feel sorry for whoever wins the prize in the future…………………………………………………now that it means absolutely nothing.
Next years winner, shouldn't even bother showing up in Oslo to be awarded the Medal, just send them an email or twitter them………………………………………….. "Just keep the hardware, and send me the check!"….

Harald, I happen to agree with you, and thanks for the post. Most of your fellow Europeans, however, got all gushy and pushy about America picking this Kenyan cornhole and, well, you see what happened.
I hope you will understand that I mean no offense when I say I wish everyone in Europe would worry about their own particular country's affairs and BUTT OUT OF OURS.
