Friday Free For All: Washington Edition
by PubliusToday, in 1783, Washington gave his farewell address to his officers at Fraunces Tavern in New York City. The tavern was owned by Samuel Fraunces, a free black from Dominica. He would later accept Washington’s invitation to be Chief Steward at the President’s residence.

Making a big noise about the drop in unemployment – anyone ever heard of the annual tradition of hiring Christmas help (or Winter Festival help, Kwanzaa help, etc.)? They don't mention how many of those jobs are temporary, or part time. Same thing with the 'fact' that the average workers hours went up from 30/week to 30.2/week…whoo! overtime because some people haven't figured out how to punch the time clock yet! =)
Let's look again in January, when they've all been let go, and are trying to get unemployment for having worked two months (months that won't count unless they wait four more quarters to apply)
I did! It was a vacation, but I actually stood them on the corner and read part of the farewell speech to them – they were unimpressed at the time, but now they look back and remember how cool it was to see the "place George Washington actually was".

I think Sarah Palin is going to have the Media formerly known as Mainstream in a bind with her recent Facebook posting. She's tempting them to put out more "Sarah Palin is a stupid bimbo" hit piece (because in their world, believing in climate change that isn't caused by humans is like not believing it at all) but in order to do that, they'll actually have to report on Climategate.

I think the keyword in that article is " without permission". The homeowner's associations all over the country are power mongers who get drunk on their own power. George Washington was an AMAZING man. He was a horesman, a farmer, a General, and a whiskey distiller. He was the richest President in our history by quite a bit.
