There simply is no other way to explain the statements of White House Chief of Staff Jacob Lew this morning on CNN's State of the Union. Lew was asked by Candy Crawley about a recent statement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicating he would not be bringing a...

Sad when John Stewart reports the facts on global warming. Hey Andrew maybe you should put him on retainer.

Can this feeling that we have together
Oooh, suddenly exist between
Did this meeting of our minds together
Oooh, happen just today, some way
Id like to know
Can you tell me; please don't tell me
It really doesn't matter anyhow
Its just that the thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind, as a beautifully mysterious thing
Was your image in my mind so deeply
Oooh, other faces fade away
Blocking memories of unhappy hours
Oooh, leavin just a burnin love
Id like to know
Can you tell me; please don't tell me
It really doesnt't't't matter anyhow
Its just that the thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind, as a beautifully mysterious thing
Yes it does now baby
Can this lovin we have found within us
Oooh, suddenly exist between
Did we somehow try to make it happen
Oooh, was it just a natural thing
Id like to know
Can you tell me — please don't tell me
It really doesnt't't't matter anyhow
Its just that the thought of us so happy
Appears in my mind, as a beautifully mysterious thing
Yes it does now baby
Questions 67 and 68
It sure has been a long, downhill slide for Illinois. The Land of Lincoln, now brings US Barrack Hussein Obama, ait is true a country gets what it deserves, but I still think WE deserve better…………

OBAMA ANNOUNCES SURGE….IN PARTIES!
http://naturalfake.wordpress.com/2009/12/02/obama...
Too true. It's frustrating that the mostly red state is controlled by the very blue and liberal Chicago, where those unwilling to work vote for handouts. Too many of them and not enough of us to make any difference at the voting booths. Once you're outside of Crook County, it's more conservative whether Dem or Repub.
Illinois is a wonderful state, you get central, or south there are some beautiful farms, and wonderful Americans. Just good, decent, hardworking people with family values. The problem is, folks like that, folks like US, do not know how to lie, cheat, or steal to make the system work to our advantage like the professional corrupt politicians if Chicagoland.
Why thank you for the kind words. Those of us in Central Illinois appreciate them.
and we can sweeten the pot with a few others, as well.
or would that be a liability?
Thanks, a pant load Illinois! Barry really, really sucks!
Chicago
Words by Joanna Walton.
I smile like Chicago
She laughs like the breeze
I try so hard to charm her
With minor mysteries
I collide with her softness
With whispers and pleas
Echoes of the movements
Delicate obscenties
It's a one quarter rain dance
Half of it's prayer
It's a simplest romance
Rattles high in the air
She's the gentlest pretender
I'm a clown on a spree
Still it's sweet to remember
The way it might be
I smile like Chicago
Thus earning the eternal gratitude of New Jersey for not having to be the most corrupt state in the nation.
I saw that! That was too funny. Good one.
I love Chicago! The Windy City holds a special place for me.
Having said that, Chicago has always had an underworld element in it's city Government. It's as corrupt a city as you can find in these United States. Sad really. Chicago deserves so much more.
I think Illinois would make a dandy little sovereign nation, all its own, smack dab in America's breadbasket.
The People's Republic of Illinois
The Worker's Paradise Formerly Known as Illinois
I dunno, I'm not good at naming brand-new countries.
Exile IIlinois from the Union for conduct unbecoming and give it sovereignty.
Allow them enough time to fail and fall into complete anarchy. Should take about a week to 10 days.
Declare Illinois a clear and present danger to U.S. national security.
Invade and implement regime change. Educate citizens in concepts of freedom, liberty and responsibility. Heavy on personal responsibility. Should take no more than 10 years.
Organize and hold free elections.
Restore state status.
Repeat as often as necessary or until they are capable of sustaining a representative republic form of self-governance free of massive corruption and graft.
If successful, could become model for other failing states.
I met Buddy Guy at his "joint" in Chi Town back in the late 90's.
He was gacious & signed the T-Shirt I bought from his club. The Music was rocking Blues (Live), and the burger was greasy.
That is my ONLY good memory of Illinois…
Illinoisians!
Dump Quinn, Burris, and both Madigans in 2010! And if you live in Crook Country, dump Todd Stroger, too!
Enough is enough. THROW THE CORRUPT BUMS OUT!!!
TOO late! We need one SOONER!!!!
Suggest giving Chicago to Canada??? LOL That's funny. I say just give them NObama! The rest of the idiots will follow.
Chicago is a great place to vivit… once.
I got food poisoning last visit to Chicago city proper (true story) a few years back. Now I know why… NObama.
Welcome to the club – from a 10-or-so generation Pennsylvanian
And thanks for giving Lincoln his political start
trust me we are! People are finally starting to wake up here in Illinois.
Ol' "Honest Abe" would be rolling in his grave if he saw Illinois for what it is today ! A slum pit second only to Detroit thanks to Rezko, Jarret and other ObamaPOS "friendlies". Now for my three rather decent experiences in Chicago over the decades;
The Cotton Club on Michigan Ave in the south side. Superb jazz !
Carson's Rib Houses all over the city. Outstanding !
The Annual Taste of Chicago downtown gala. Wonderful !
Beyond that…. Let it fall into Lake Michigan.
It just occurred to me: There's got to be a reason that Christopher Nolan's Gotham City is modeled after Chi-town, instead of the traditional NYC.
Should take about a week to 10 days.
That made me guffaw.
Let's give credit where credit is due, Thank Kenya for that.
Your post reminds me that Matt Burden, the BlackFive of blackfive.net, is running for the Illinois Assembly (41) in 2010. Matt is one of the best mil-bloggers around, tremendously devoted to soldier's charities (Soldier's Angels, among many others). Matt is an Officer, a Gentleman, and a man of Honor, and I hope to meet him someday for a drink. He could really use your support, http://www.mattburdenforus.com/ .
We would go to Chicago on weekends for fun, beautiful city, now Chicago is just a dirty word.
Today evertbody is going to get a Job. Hooray. Yes its the Jobs Summit ( SHOW) Pass out the Hard Hats when no one is looking, thats the dressing for the less educated, a few hours of discussion, a speech given problem solved. Final Product HOT AIR !!
How to create Jobs, Cut Govt Spending, Cut Business&Individual Tax, OH, We couldnt do that, they want to add more taxes, health, business, individual taxes, cap&Trade, Amnesty Tax.
Is there any way to give it back to where ever it came from?
I live in Mississippi now, but I was born and raised in
Chicago, one block away from Mayor Daley, the elder. In a
part of the city called Bridgeport. It was a great place
to grow up in back then. I married a career Navy man and
moved away, and lived all over from California, to Florida.
I always thought there was no place like Chicago, and thought
we would eventually retire there. Recently we had to go back
for two funerals, And, I didn’t recognize my city.My gosh,
even Comiskey Park was renamed Cellular Park or something
like that. I realized I could never live there again, it was
not the city I remembered, but then I’ve always heard you
can never go back and expect things to be the same. I love
Chicago, for the good memories I have of my childhood, but
that’s about all, just good memories, and the knowledge I
could never live there again.
Truthfully, don't you find this pattern wherever large numbers of people are supported by the government?
Something to think about from Wikipedia: There have been several famous (and infamous) cases of poll taxes in history, notably a tax formerly required for voting in parts of the United States that was often designed to disenfranchise poor people, including African Americans, Native Americans, and white people of non-British descent (e.g., the Irish)."
They were also used to keep those who lived on the government dole from voting themselves even greater benefits.
"Hmmmmm….." indeed. Unforeseen complications aside, I'd be all for the second description. It kills me to live in downtown Chicago, go to work (as an engineer) 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, only to have my money taken by Daley through property tax, vehicle sticker tax, etc, etc, and used to keep a party I do not support in office. Permanently. Yes, I could move to a more conservative-friendly area of the USA, but what about friends, family, and a career I've built here? This city and state could be so much greater if only we could get even half the corruption out. I don't want to leave. I hope I'm in a minority that grows into a majority. Meanwhile, bye-bye money.

Sounds to me like you need to do some community organizing.
I have a breaking…. update from my "boots on the ground" report from yesterday… Taliban…announces July 2011 Afghan surge…..more…when available..
That's a losing ticket and one which almost nobody, including GOP voters would vote for.
Could you find a more boring and horrible ticket?
Neither man would make it through the first three primaries, so you ticket is not only impossible, but shows what a moron you are!
Well, Chicago does have a VERY large DEAD VOTE, but Il. did go for Reagan, even with the dead and illegals voting the other way.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………..Detroit is much worse and the ghetto slums of Chicago are mostly segregated and on the South Side. Cabrini Green is in the process of being taken down.
Taste of Chicago STINKS !
Carson's went downhill many ( 2 ) decades ago!
OTOH, Michigan Ave. has blossomed and bloomed, but the loss of Stuart Brent's book store, I. Magnum, and Field's still hurts!

There are those of us in the resistance who will aid you in overthrowing the current Illinois culture of political corruption. Those of us with a brain, who still own our guns and beleive in personal responsiility, have been fighting the good fight for the last 20 years. If we napalm Chicago and East St. Louis, we will have a chance at saving the state, but it must be done soon, during the daylight hours, as the ghetto thugs sleep off their crack hangover. One good bombing run on the city council in Chicago and a simultaneous strike at the Capitol building in Springfield, a qucik napalming of the ghettos, and we have a chance.
Good one! You're right.
