Saturday Open Thread: Party Crashers Edition
by PubliusPresident Obama’s first official State Dinner, in honor of the Indian Prime Minister, was crashed by two Northern Virginia socialites. Crashing an event at the White House is, um, shall we say, difficult.
That these two–Reality TV star-wannabes, natch–came within a handshake of POTUS and the Indian Prime Minister is astonishing. Stay tuned, as we think there must be more to this story.

Strange way to do damage control, releasing official White House photos of the incident with little comment other than "We're going to get to the bottom of this?" Looks like Obama was thinking just that at the time.

Why was the White House photo of Obama and "crashers" belatedly released (or released at all) adding fuel to the "crasher" story? Perhaps the "crasher" serves to distract media inquiry/discussion of other state dinner issues like HOW MUCH DID THE GLASS PALACE – aka "tent" – COST?
It’s stunning that an uninvited couple with a Persian surname is granted access to the State Dinner for the Prime Minister of India; a couple days before the anniversary of the Mumbai (INDIA) terrorist attacks by Muslim extremists and a couple weeks after Fort Hood terrorist attack by Jihadist.
The couple was photographed with POTUS and VP. Also in attendance: the Speaker of the House, the Prime Minister, and other high-ranking officials.
But no worries, even if their intent was nefarious instead of narcissistic, the Secret Service assures us that they posed no danger since they passed-thru a metal detector. I bet the Salahi’s went through less security screening than the Smith’s did for their Thanksgiving airline flight to Cleveland.
So I guess that “cloak-and-dagger” spy-stuff is just Hollyweird BS. No one could really be trained to kill with their bare hands, could they? Or pickup a dinner utensil and thrust into a persons chest? Or break a plate and slit a throat with a broken shard? Are we to believe that paper plates, Dixie cups, and plastic Sporks are customary at White House dinners?
There is something about that photo that is unsettling, it rings a bell for me.
Do you all remember the photo from 12-14 years ago, the "casual" photo of Bill Clinton, just happening to get a hug from Monica Lewinsky? Go back and find that old photo and look at it; look at the twinkle in Monica's eyes and the smile on her face, and the body language. Then look at this photo, and the twinkle in this womans eyes. I've seen the look too many times in life. What am I saying? I'd bet that skinny little Blond Bimbo Bedded Bo-Bo somewhere along the dusty campaign trail…………………
If you look carefully at the photo, on the upper right hand side, you can see Michelle Obamas reflection in the mirror. Also, you can see her ear and hair, standing next to the India Primeminister. So, I am sure they met Michelle and Premiers wife as they went along the receiving line.

You might be closer to the truth than you realize. the U.S.S.S. details can only be as tight as the POTUS allows, meaning that if the POTUS allows them to do there jobs, very little likelihood of problems. But no matter how tight or relaxed the details are set up, the U.S.S.S. will always be the scape goat, justly or not, if something goes wrong.
But if this is so, why not just give her an invitation? Or get her a job at the party? (Maybe she could have delivered the pizza.) Why bring her husband into it? Or maybe you are suggesting they were a threesome? Nah. I can not tell with the Chosen One from this angle. He is only showing his general greeting hand shake, arm slightly extended. He often grabs the upper (R) arm of the person with his left hand when it is someone familiar. The POTUS is also a hugger. The problem is we don't know where we are in the greeting. B.O. is very much aware of the social significance of hand shakes, as are most politicians, he is also very aware of where the cameras are & the timing to snap a shot.
The one that interests me is the look from the Indian PM. No one is in front of him & he is waiting. This greeting looks to have taken longer than the standerd 3-5 sec.

Protocol dictates that the host, in this case the POTUS, would be first greeted, then the guest in order of importance, the PM. The first Lady is Hostess to the PM's wife so she would be next followed by the PM's wife then on the end would be one of the First Lady's assistants to thank the guest & give them any additional information. Even for the most relaxed events this is usually followed.

Again, I feel the most telling portion is the gap between guests. The guest before them is being introduced to the PM's wife by Michelle, that is a very long time, relatively speaking, between guests. That shows that POTUS has specific interest in her. It is very interesting.
Also notice that she is leading him, I looked up some other pics of them, she is definitely the one in charge in public this is going to get more interesting. I was just on the phone with a friend that does forensic studies w/ photos, he said they are all ripping it down but that there was something missing. This being an NBC based stunt for Bravo could be it. They would had to have some way to get through the gates. It wasn't JUST a lack on one uniformed gate officers fault. The media is only slobbering over Obama and Biden's security when Manmohan SIngh's security as Guest of Honor was heavily compromised – especially given the background connections of the Salahis.
SIngh spoke all over Washington about USA STAYING in Afghanistan and against ANY withdrawal so as not to "embolden the terrorists." Plenty of Islamic radicals did NOT want THAT message out.
Media won't report on SIngh's message, India's grave concerns about Obama selling them out for China, their enemy, and that Singh's security should have been No. 1 issue.

The Salahi's say they were invited. They turned over EMails to authorities that prove they were, so they've said.
The Secret Service is taking blame.
So we're left with a "he said, she said".
IF the Salahi's were in fact invited, then their should have been a place cards for them to be seated for the dinner.
IF they were invited then the White House knows if those place cards were made.
The White House needs to give the list from which the calligrapher worked, and that settles the whole thing WITHOUT a stupid investigation.
