Why the left fears Sarah
Have you ever seen so much hatred for, and vitriolic criticism of, someone who had only a brief stint on the national political stage? More than a year after the presidential election in which Sarah Palin, as the GOP nominee for Vice-President, campaigned for about 3 months, she is still being pilloried by the leftwing loons as though she had been elected and was now actively engaged in dismantling the liberal establishment. Not a day goes by that we don't hear or read vicious attacks on a woman who represents the conservative, wholesome values of Middle America; values that have been insidiously and incrementally eroded during the last few decades.

I salute Sarah Palin for all her accomplishments. I think she can and should be a real force in the Conservative line-up, in 2010, 2012 and beyond.
If she is the Republican Presidential nominee in 2012, she would get my vote. However, I don't think she is Presidential material, and I think it would be very difficult for her to win.
Hell, I voted for McCain, so I sure as hell wouldn't refuse to vote for Sarah.

After listening to the parts of the media blitz on Sarah, have been trying to fathom why the lame stream media is so bent on trashing Sarah every opportunity. The only thing that makes any sense to the vitriol spewing from the talking heads is FEAR, pure unadulterated FEAR. It’s the only explanation.

She needs to repair her image. She an do that if she is control, which she is. But actions speak louder than words. Despite her achievements in Alaska, it's all talk to the majority of the country. I like her, I think she'd be great, but *right now* she isn't electable. She's got 2 years to change that. (Or 6.)

Most of you have summed up the "Palin Tsunami" quite well. Here is a Conservative woman who can sneeze in a train station and attract 40,000 supporters. Every other politician, regardless of party, would kill to have that kind of loyalty and support. So why does she attract so many people or people CURIOUS about her ?? READY ? ?
She REPRESENTS the America most of us grew up in. Hard working families, reverence for pregnant mothers, minimal government involvement in daily lives, lower taxes, self reliance and accountability. And most of all the love for America and its Constitution. I know….strange concepts to gumment edjukated kool-aid drinkers !

I don't know whether she can beat Obama in 2012, but he's doing a stellar job of making himself un-re-electable. Meanwhile, Sarah's Oprah strategy seems brilliantly designed to win over the vast middle of non-partisan America. She doesn't have to explain why multilateral talks are better than bilateral talks as a means of restraining North Korea's nuclear ambitions to persuade soccer moms that the media is being mean to her. If she can convince 50% of America's voters that her detractors are mean-spirited, hypocrites. and haters, she can become President. So far, her detractors are doing their level best to help her accomplish that goal!
What infuriates me Cowboy, is this information was available before 11/3/08, and the press left it alone. When we begin to purge Washington, the MSM needs to be included.
Why do the liberals in the press and Washington single Palin out in thier relentless attacks. Because she is the Anti-Obama. She is a decent person with a set of values consistent with "real Americans" and not the pseudo-American communists in Washington. Sarah Palin is not 'business as usual'. She represents basic American core values, which to the established political machine in Washington D.C. is an alien concept and makes her unpredictable in the most basic of ways. She speaks the truth, straight from the heart, and politicians don't know how to answer to that.
Kay isn't a "real" conservative when it comes to abortion. She is pro-choice.
Name one other person the media has gone this far off the rails to denigrate, to laud as incompetent and to attack personally the children thereof? You can't and quite possibly never will. So for that same media who condemns cow farts as causing a non existent global weather catastrophe only the true believers can see or feel to be slamming Sarah Palin for anything, I'd say its a shining example of exactly why she needs to be a big part of whatever government takes back what's left of America from Fidel Obama and the sycophants of George "Nazi Wannabe" Soros. Someone needs to be there for the children in more than just sound bytes and at ground level rather than from their estate's ramparts.
Obama has proven himself to be a preening American apologist with George Soros' arm inserted to the shoulder working the mouth and an intellectual lightweight as meat puppets go but laudably the poster boy for Affirmative Action granting a student what his abilities can not. So contrary to the far left's rantings, the office of president runs upon the whims of many who indeed were never elected to "do the thinking". Good think too. I believe Nancy Pelosi couldn't do a worse job if she went off her meds and enlisted Bill "religious hate = soul envy" Maher to herd the unicorns in Afghanistan as ambassador to the Taliban… although watching him try and slam them for their "belief" would make a great 5 minutes of reality TV.
Funny how most Americans would like their country as a whole to be doing as well as states like Alaska and how that same majority would without hesitation reject Chicago's tainted politico in a heart beat. Alaskan Christian hockey mom VS Chicago Islam-lite community organizer… we've seen how well the latter is doing. 71 cars to travel in and arriving at every stop on his knees… sure that's presidential.
I voted for McCain last election only becuz of Sarah Palin. Sarah never votes "present" and will take a stand for what's right. I have particular reasons, and plenty of them. Lots of people who are uncomfortable with the idea of a Palin presidency also have particular reasons. Good and decent people don't think she is presidential, and have published thoughtful pieces as to why. Your premise is wrong.
Journalism isn't Sarah Palin's problem. She is her own worst enemy. So far, she has rarely been able to present as a serious person seeking a serious office. I con't care to enumerate my own reasons why she seems decidedly un-presidential.
I was ecstatic that McCain picked her, and she sounded quite good in her first national speech. Within two weeks of closely watching her, I discovered that the depth just isn't there. I must say that the other likely Republican candidates have unfortunate (to me) aspects, as well.
However, she could take over the presidency today and do a better job than President Obama. I'll vote for her if she wins the nomination.

Michelle Bachman!…I could go on and on with strong and principled conservative women to manage at the federal level honestly. There are some excellent fiscally conservative men as well who know what the limits of the federal powers should be and who will work with the States without suffocating them with regulations! Let us support them and hold them accountable!

The only time I got excited about the 2008 presidential election was when Sarah Palin spoke at the Republican rally. The ability of Sarah Palin to draw crowds scares the left to death.
There are other conservatives in the party, why do you think the left has been so intent on focusing on her? Where are the smear jobs for say, Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty? I'm sure they exist but they are not even close to Sarah Palin's hack jobs. They are terrified of her.
Make sure that when you say "I don't think she is Presidential material" that it is YOUR opinion and not the opinion of the media which has been very intent on destroying her. What is happening here is that people are unaware of the unconscious influence the media is having on them.
Watch what is happening. I heard on the Radio this morning that for this book tour people were lining up at 3 in the morning to meet Sarah Palin. The media will never give that fair play. Sarah Palin is extremely popular with the people that matter and I believe she will be electable like Ronaldus Magnus in 2 years.
But this mindset shift is VITAL for everyone. The media continues to show how dishonest and conniving it is. PEOPLE ARE SEEING IT. I live and work in Grand Rapids, MI where Sarah's first stop on her tour is today. At 5AM there were already over 1,500 people in line to get a wristband to get a book signed. At 8:30AM there were an additional 2,000 people lined up to try to get a chance to meet her.

One thing that helps Republican candidates is the idea that a vote for them is a vote against the media. The more they heap scorn and ridicule on Sarah Palin, the more attractive she becomes to voters. If they really believed she was a know nothing and a lightweight, would they focus so much on her? Did AP really assign 11 people to fact checking her book? They won't even report who really wrote Obama's book. In an indirect way, they are choosing the next GOP nominee, or at least the nominee for president for some party.
Cowboy, I read that article and I thank you for leading me to it…I added Jim Simpson's blog to my blog. I wholeheartedly agree with Jim and left a comment on his blog. My question is what can we do about this problem. Even Sean Hannity has mentioned several times that Obama is intently leading us to this Catastrophe.

Nice timing of the book release – coinciding with the 20th anniversary celebrations of the destruction of the Berlin Wall, the "velvet revolution" in Czechoslovakia, and other historic Reagan-era successes which the left-wingers would prefer to forget. We outperformed the socialists of the world before, and now we just have to do it again by defeating them herein 2010 and 2012. Whether she runs for office again or not, Palin opens up that painful memory for radicals who thought they could safely declare that Reagan's ideas were dead or irrelevant today.

That sounds good to me. One thing I can't fault her for: She, unlike many Conservatives, is unapologetic about her political views. I like her a lot. I just have these reservations about her abilities, particularly her communication skills.
I'd rather see her heading the ticket over Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee.

Also, I really like your point, that I (and presumably, others of like mind) should make sure we're not repeating opinions voiced by the stupid (synonym for Liberal, LOL) media. I take that point seriously. I have questioned myself re that point, and I hope anyone who doubts Sarah's qualifications will do the same.
I will do all that I can to get behind her and truly support her. I like her and it thrills me that she is unashamed of her Conservative ideals. I don't think a President Palin would try to invent new government programs to show people, "Hey, look at me, I'm at least partly a Democrat!" I'm really proud of her, too, for the way she's maintained her dignity through tough times in her own family.
That Oprah interview was a disaster. She can't keep having disasters; they (the media) will eat her alive. She needs to answer the question and stop talking. Let the other person (the hack asking the questions) fill the pregnant pause.

Your remarks took me back to that day when McCain announced that she would be part of the ticket. I was just about delirious, and stayed that way for a couple of weeks.
Yeah, I remember that speech and how surprised and excited I was! It was a serious emotional high. I was like "For the first time, there is someone in this campaign that represents me".
The McCain folks sit around a rip on Palin, but I don't think there is any way McCain would have even done as well as he did without Palin. And no one in the media is saying or acknowledging that.
Can you imagine a campaign with TWO McCains on the ticket? Hehe.

Sarah Palin is a powerful force, and we know this by the number of (so-called) high-profile/powerful, whining critics she attracts from the whacked- out Leftist, political/media, and Establishment Republican types. 'The Right Side' nailed it by saying 'she represents the America we grew up in', and I believe that we can get some,if not all, of that back with some hard work. Whatever road Gov. Palin takes, she has my respect and support. She is a REAL breath of fresh air in politics
