Do a few simple things?
If everyone voted Conservative, that would be a start.
That woudl be nice. I would be OK if people actually made an educated vote, based on their beliefs and the beliefs of the candidate.
Not just voted for skin color, or quaint marketing phrase like "Hope and Change"
I'm sick and tired of uneducated voters who don't understand the ramifications of their vote.
If everyone voted Conservative, that would be a start.
Voting every incumbent out would be a good start.
Placing some officials in office with values, morals and ethics would be a great start.
Two things strike me as humorous this week: Bawney Fwanks boyfriend getting newstime for the pot bust, and Bawney being there when the bust went down, stating "I'm not an outdoorsman, I don't know what pot is". Ok Bawney, I buy that lame excuse.
The second one is Elliott Spitzer, lecturing on morals and ethics. Really now? Why doesn't he just write "The Politicians Manual on Call Girl Ethics"?
Those people, just don't get it. We are fed up, and have had enough of their nonsense.

Some more extreme "good starts":
Requiring voters to at least know who their elected officials are, and a basic knowledge of how government is supposed to work, not the graft and corruption, lying and stealing as practiced by our current elected officials;
requiring ID from those attempting to vote to determine if they are eligible to do so;
Prohibit those on welfare from voting (something about vested interests), and while welfare is a subject, how 'bout drug screens for each and every one of the parasites.
And if you disagree with any of the above, you are a racist.
I can live with, and even enjoy debating, a liberal who knows his own mind, who actually has reasons for voting the way he does, based on core values and beliefs. I may believe he is wrong, but he is entitled to his beliefs. What I cannot take are the shills on either side who simply parrot what they hear from their "leaders." I remember voting for Richard Nixon in an elementary school mock election. I am from Hubert Humphrey's home state and was the only kid who voted for Nixon. I still remember my teacher telling me that I was the only student who could say why I voted that way. Unfortunately, I do not see many of my age-mates doing much more thinking now than they did then. Sad. (By the way, my dad was a Democrat and my mom never discussed politics.)
Looking at the morning headlines, I think the wind is changing, and we might finally have the wind at our backs: A wave of incumbent sentiment is building, ACORN is reportedly on the verge of Bankruptcy, the White House Counsel is stepping down, as early as today it is reported. Pieces are flying off the Obama tri-cycle faster than Barry can peddal.
When things get tough, true to form, Barry has taken another whirlwind campaign trip, this time to Japan. Probably going to spread some of that Hopey-Changey-Transparency nonsense abroad………..
My simple things: Own a gun, read my Bible, and be a well-informed voter.
Talked to my broker yesterday, asked him what I should be buying, he said "Guns and ammo."
While I am in the joke mode, here is one of the best bumber stickers I've ever seen: "I didn't go to work today, the voices in my head told me to stay home and clean my guns"……….

So the president claims he is taking his time deciding about Afghanistan because it's important to him to "get it right" yet he and his cronies have been pushing bill after bill at us in an attempt to meet some sort of deadline but it's not important enough when talking about trillions of dollars of spending to take the time to "get it right". I totally agree with you. I can respect a socialist who says we should institute socialism. Debating with those people has actually helped me to become more articulate in my own conservative views. I can't stand when socialist politicians talk about how much they love the free market and then push for the government taking over private businesses.

There is only one problem with going Galt.

I totally agree. Besides the uneducated voters, It would also be nice if generational voters that do know when a candidate sucks but just can't bring themselves to vote for someone else outside of their party would wake up. Simply because their family voted Democrat or Republican for decades doesn't mean they have to vote that way too. I know way too many people in my area that voted for Obama simply because he was a Democrat and they knew he was the worst of the lot but couldn't bring themselves to vote for a Republican because their family always voted Democrat.

I think Cook and hopefully the Beltway establishment don't quite understand just how much trouble Pelosi's Democrats are in. Cook shows 80 Dem seats in play and 26 Republicans; however, other than Joesph Cao of Louisianna in a D+25 District (Cold Cash Jefferson's old seat) these Republican seats are in neutral or Republican leaning districts. The Democrats have 28 districts where the Republican leaning is greater than +5.

Right. I was not much happier with President Bush in this regard.
Socialism is bad regardless of who is pushing it. Capitalism is at least more honest and admits that, "What's in it for me?" is a legitimate question.
Surely Obama has a lot of apologies to offer Japan on our behalf.
Next they will be offering them amnesty, ensuring they can buy health insurance legally, draw social security while getting their college tuition paid for and making sure they won't be required to present valid ID when voting in the next presidential election. Perhaps the left will even go as far as to organize huge marches to protest the unfair treatment of these "patriots" while they aimlessly hurl accusations of racist at anyone who dares to question the motives of a member of a racial minority.
And when they get off, as they clearly may in civil court due to lack of concrete evidence, he can smile at the world and say "see how good we are, see how honest and just, you can trust and love us now!" scuse me while I go vomit.
Agree with Cowboy. I was out 6 weeks (injured) and about went bonkers. The Galt-like movement I've read about may be worth looking at though. Some folks are putting off all major purchases until 0 and his hopey changey czars are gone. The bumper sticker: Not until he's gone. New car? Buy used. Major plant purchase? Deferred.
