Every state guarantees loans for businesses. As you did with the lefty/military example, I'll offer you a counter example as well. Do you think anyone would be upset if this was a loan guarantee for a manufacturer to install new equipment as part of an expansion, or a water and sewer infrastructure project for a county-owned industrial park that entirely benefits the businesses that occupy it? You can call these things socialist, if you like, but then you are damning pretty much every economic development agency and development strategy that have been operating at the local and state level for decades.
