We were elected to make tough choices, not run from them. On Thursday, House Democrats sparked widespread outrage by voting to authorize the use of the controversial “Slaughter Solution” to force amassive government takeover of health care through the House without voting on it. They voted to protect themselves instead...

As a St. Louis Cardinal fan, all I can say is
"Bah Humbug" to the dreaded New York Yankees.
Just kidding. They deserve the Title this season. They earned it. Congratulations to the Yankees.
Not much of a baseball fan and don't care much for the yankees but find if funny that the "boys of summer" are playing in November.

Here's to free market capitalism. It might not make you happy, but it is a meritocracy. It exposes relativism as a lie and gives no trophies based on emotion.
Isn't it about time for a CON-gressional investigation?
The number of times the Yankees have won the pennant, is decidedly lopsided as compared to other teams. In all fairness, the Administration might need to take some of those pennant wins, and split them up among some of the less fortunate teams in an effort to build their respectiive self esteem.
If is probably about time also that the Pay Czar start divvying up the salaries. He could take some of that surplus money, and spread it on the street, up through Harlem.
In the interim, congrats to the Yanks. Love 'em or hate 'em, they play good baseball and sure have the talent.
Just another thing that proves No-Bama Care is a sham…..

I don’t think it’s fair the Yankees won the World Series by themselves. They should have to share it with everyone else, as decreed by the Barry …blessed be his name!
A Yankees win is a tribute to capitalism.
Great job guys!
In the election, he came, he saw, he kicked @ss!
Who is:
THE AMERICAN REGENT

OPEN THREAD QUESTION??? I know that his OneNess campaigned in Virginia and NJ for the Demorat Govs and they lost… However did he actually campaign for the NY23 Dem??? If not, does that show reverse coat tails???
JUST ASKING
Now that it is over we enter the real "long, dark tea time of the soul." In the money versus moxie argument, money won. Now that this Phillies fan has gotten his little bit of bitterness out of the way, it is time to say thanks to the boys of summer for a good post season. Congrats to the Yankees. And to the Phillies, come back harder next year. Thanks also for the following treats: Cliff Lee in Game 1, Chase Utley all the time, and Hideki Matsui- Godzilla even with bad knees. In case you think baseball is over, the Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Yomiuri Giants head back to Sapporo Dome to finish the best of seven NBP/Nippon Series (the other Fall Classic) this weekend. Go Giants.

Dennis Miller said that beloved leader now has the "coattails of a naked midget" on O'Reilly last night.
The Yankees have had the best team money can buy for years. Why do you think they go so crazy when they don't win?
That being said, money in itself gets you the talent, the players pulling together make the team. That is the wild card in the equation.
That being said, the Twins move back outdoors this year, and maybe we will find a couple starting pitchers under the Christmas tree, so we can make a better move this coming year.
Ditto to your whole message!
Missed Miller last night. LOL!
(Congrats Yankees and especially Matsui.)
Re: Our Nation's Takeover
What I want to know is this: Are there any legitimate lawsuits being filed to stop this administration from its unconstitutional actions?
The Yankees (and specifically Rodriguez) are the reason why I no longer watch baseball. You can't afford to take your kid to a game, but they are constantly fighting to make a few extra million (no matter how much they have or who has been loyal to them). It used to be a game of the common man, now it's a game of rich cheaters looking to scam some more money.
I couldn't possibly care less.
Caller to Mark Levin radio last night was an insurance man who pointed out that the health-care bill requires a loss ratio for private insurance companies that is not feasible and would kill the private companies in a year or less. He said he'd not heard anyone address this.
(Normally required by law loss ratio is 65 percent — The law would require 85 percent.)
I know: that's technical, but I checked it with a businessman, who said – that's absolutely true.
Whole bill must be full of such difficult-to-decipher society-killing details.
Is Nancy Pelosi just the biggest distraction being used by this White House?
Democrat Legislators are counting on the American people to OBEY their new Obamacare laws. I do not see it that way. I see "Civil Disobedience" on a massive, unheard of level. Citizens going to an all cash economy to avoid having bank accounts. Then the IRS cannot seize government-run health insurance premiums from their bank accounts.
An illegal alien-like economy, if you will for everyone who will not roll over for Pelosi and Obamacare! Also government indoctrimation prisons for non-complient, freedom-loving Americans! Doctors will go underground for cash and freedom, also.
That's correct, they couldn't win if the other teams didn't lose. It's about time losers of the world are rewarded for the important role they play in our society:-)
I used to have a Yankees season-ticket package in 1998. The following year, the closest comparable package had twice the number of games at a higher price per game. I just couldn't do it, so I dropped the package.
Having said that; as a fan, I'd rather they win and the games cost more, than lose and cost less. It's a pain getting to the stadium anyway.
There’s a reason why NFL football has eclipsed baseball as America’s sport: more competition due to revenue sharing and salary caps. As un-capitalistic as that sounds, teams like Green Bay can compete with large market rich teams like Dallas, New York, and New England for top talent. This drives up total league revenues. Baseball on the other hand is marked by a few large market teams competing for top notch free agent talent while the small market teams have a competitive disadvantage. Yes, there are plucky exceptions like Minnesota, but most of the time it’s either the Yankees or the Red Sox making the playoffs and getting the free agents. It’s getting to be a lot like the Harlem Globetrotters (the Yankees) vs the Washington Generals (most small market teams). Why go through the 162 game season if you’re in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City, etc?
Why is it a thousand times more heart-breaking for the Phillies to loose the World Series, than when they don't even make the play-offs? I'm a Phillies Phan as well…
Phillies fans are used to the heartbreak in the regular season. What makes it tougher with these guys is they all seem genuine and more like a team than any they faced in the post season.
Thank God for unfettered Capitalism. And there is no team on the planet that exemplifies that more than the Yankees.
They pour profits back into the business, and excellence (not parity) is their stated goal.
Reagan would have loved it.
I didn't know people still player baseball…
