BUT –
It seems like a waste of my time to write my congressman (Norm Dicks – Please conservatives… find someone to run against this person). I wrote and his office basically told me that they do not care what the constituents want and will be voting for it. He said he is afraid of us… that we might shoot him (being that we are gun toting bible clingers) – that is why he won't talk to us. What is the point of writing to that sort of guy? Maybe if I was a lobbyist for a defense contractor with a wad of cash in my pocket. Maybe then he would listen.

Probably the most interesting response I have gotten from a senator was when I sent an e-mail to Indiana's Evan Byah. I wrote that he should look closely at the healthcare bill and urged him to say "no" to it once and for all. I requested a response e-mail… and 2 weeks later got a form letter about the UN and the vital need they serve in the world. Unbelieveable.

The healthcare debate is a serious issue, but I have this nagging feeling that it's a deliberate distraction from the very real danger of environmental nut jobs being used by socialists to further their reach into American society.

Seeds of socialism are being planted in cities across our nation. Neighborhood Associations are popping up at an alarming rate. Google some of the members of new neighborhood groups in your town and chances are you'll end up at some site where being GREEN is the subject. Green IS the new red. Unfortunately, the fools that think they're helping our planet are actually helping to usher socialism into America. Have you ever noticed that the greenies with the biggest mouths generally have no children? That's why they don't give a crap what happens to the future of other people's children. Stand up and fight America! Our liberty is truly at stake.

I lose sleep about a lot of things these days. The one that keeps me up more often than not is what I will say to my grandchildren when they ask me why we burdened them with such a monstrous generational monetary obligation. Or, how could we allow the great foundation of our constitution to crumble into so much dust? I suppose we must just give them the Johnny Knoxville answer: to the mob it seemed like a good idea at the time.

There have been several premature announcements of an AARP Obamacare endorsement over the past several months, but now it’s just about official.
I heard from a source a few days ago that the endorsement was imminent and that it will be published by AARP tomorrow. The Associated Press also says its sources are telling the wire service the same thing.
I’ve been told that the endorsement will argue that senior citizens will actually benefit from the government health care takeover despite a half-trillion-dollars in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid because of the House version’s subsidies for medium-income seniors; elimination of the so-called “donut hole” coverage gap; and anticipated reductions in the cost of medications. The AARP will argue to its members that the massive costs of the public option will not increase the deficit.
[Insert laugh track here.]
There will be no mention in the endorsement of the AARP’s own vested financial interests in Obamacare. And there will certainly be no mention of the membership revolt that AARP’s alliances with the Left have caused.
Good time for a flashback to the Dallas health care forum in August, when an AARP member confronted one of its leaders with one of the questions of the year:
“Do you work for us or do we work for you?”

Interesting timing on the endorsement, no? The Obamacare-peddlers know there will be a highly-visible conservative protest on the Capitol Steps tomorrow.

Looks like the goon squad must have gotten to AARP because AARP's membership is still more than 80% against obamacare. AARP's Staff all deserve pink slips for this one.

The President just announced that the AARP is endorsing the Democratic Health Care Bill. Did they poll the Membership? I do not believe the majority of AARP members are in favor ot it. I DO NOT SUPPORT IT.Ibelieve the cost will finish bankrupting our country. I meant to EMail AARP but do not know how.

Well the district was drawn to be pretty Democratic when it was Gebhadt's seat. He was sacred for the most part. Carnahan thought it would be an easy pick up after Dick left. Campaigning on mostly daddy's name, he won. Then he moved into the district. Of course he's a follower; he lacks the brains to be a leader. And no thanks, looking at him makes me lose my lunch.
