Two years ago, my family & I gathered in Virginia to wish God speed to our naval officer son as he was deploying to the Persian Gulf. Having never visited the Hampton Roads area, I was thrilled beyond words to stand on the surprisingly small, unassuming battleground where Cornwallis surrendered. It's just a little field in the middle of a bustling urban area, but as a mom sending her only son off to harm's way I was choked with emotion as I thought about the events which transpired there two centuries earlier. To think that I was standing on that hallowed ground was almost more than I could bear. God bless our beloved country.
PS: It was a good run while it lasted. Now we will have to wait for the actual consequences of "Change" to become apparent to the majority of voters before we can reclaim our nation and put it back on a sensible track. I hope they start to wake up quickly. Too many of the "changes" (like gutting the First Amendment via the FCC and by trying to run Fox out of the political commentary business) might be irreversible. Does no one see a strong parallel between the White House's attacks on Fox and Hugo Chavez's attacks on media in his own country that are critical of him? I do. It's a very slippery slope and the "cry babies" in the WH communications office are trying to shove us down it.

At the Yorktown Battlefield, did you happen to see the last redoubt taken by our soldiers and the French soldiers that finally forced Cornwallis to surrender? In 1781, it sat on firm ground just on the shore. Now, much of it has eroded away into the Yorktown River. It is a metaphor for what can happen, ever so slowly and under our radar, if we do not protect our rights fiercely. The current administration's work, long before the election, through such efforts as "community organizing" and others, have sought to erode the rights of hard working, responsible Americans in favor of largess for residents (note: not necessarily citizens) who have no investment in preserving our Constitution.
Speaking of surrender, I wonder if the MSM will surrender to the Obama administration's attack on Fox News. Probably the will, not wanting to be "next" in Obama's hit list. This administration is OUT OF CONTROL and OUT OF LINE. For a sitting president to try and destroy a media outlet just because they disagree with him is beyond disgraceful. This should be an impeachable offence. We the people are being forced to rise up and protect free thought. This Marxist empty suit has crossed the line over and over again.

I agree 100%. The Obama Administration is very close to violating Fox's First Amendment rights. What's next? This blog? I'm sure the Administrations "watchers" are tracking every work written here critical of "The One, May Peace Be Upon Him," and I wouldn't be surprised if they are drilling down into cyberspace finding our our ISPs. We all might find out come April 15 next year if we all get audited. I'm beginning to think that this Administration's agenda, coupled with its apparent thin skin and emerging insecurity, might undertake activities that will make Nixon's Plumber's dirty tricks look like harmless frat pranks.

While drifting aimlessly in Afghanisatn and hopelessly adrift in Iraq, the Obama Administration continued it's war in America against FOX news, opening up new fronts on the Sunday Morning Talk Shows. The Administrations in-house Storm Troopers were out in full force, declaring that FOX was not a news orginization.
There is an old tactict in war, in battle: when you are loosing severely, go on the offensive; attack, attack, attack. It is apparent that the Administration feels vulnerable, and consequently must attack FOX news, in an attempt to kill the messenger. Intelligent folks can see through this ploy, and even some on the left are beginning to question the tactict. As one commentator put it: "The White House just chose to bring a knife to a gunfight……."
This is an important story, and not getting the press coverage it warrants. The Fourth Estate has abdicated its responsibility. FOX News is the only guardian standing at the gate
I hope you return Mom, so that you might see my appreciation for your sacrifice and your son's service. It is easy to become discouraged these days. Knowing that there are people like you and your family who still love and serve our country give renewed hope.

Heraldo was on a roll in the debate when he said Dont you agree with me Mr Crist we need to add a 40% charge to every Cadillac Health Policy? The problem with an administration that has no experience in real life or real war is not that it is not going to attack, the problem lies in the target of the attacks. Here's the change you have been waiting for: The White House, realizing that the "George Bush did it" mantra was beginning to wear a bit thin, decided their new mantra would be "FOX News did it!" Ever notice that whoever the WH attacks experiences an increase in popularity: Cheny, Bush, Limbaugh, FOX News. Hope they keep it up!
As an aside, Rush Limbaugh tends to treat people as individuals, not as groups. "Be the best you can be!" He mocks, disparages and severely criticizes group think. Jackson, Sharpton and other "liberals" identify themselves as a group. They consider all blacks to be automatic members of that group. The group is all, the individual is nothing. A real group is a VOLUNTARY association of individuals who share a common goal or purpose. You can join or withdraw from the group at will. Anything that shakes up the liberal group think is automatically evil.
Judeo/Christian values and the Constitution enshrine individual freedom and liberty. Your relationship with God and the state are based on this: YOU ARE AN INDIVIDUAL WITH CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, AMONG THESE ARE LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
And remember, you don't get judged and sit at the right Hand of God "as a group". That's person by person also.

It was a wonderful day in Yorktown today! There was a re-enactment, fife and drum corp on parade. A delegation from the French military was there to participate in the ceremony alongside American troops. Way to go National Park Service and the Department of the Interior

Without oilmen, there will be no fuel for vehicles, and no natural gas to provide heat, for the now dark houses, with no food on the tables. Should I continue?
