There simply is no other way to explain the statements of White House Chief of Staff Jacob Lew this morning on CNN's State of the Union. Lew was asked by Candy Crawley about a recent statement by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicating he would not be bringing a...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.. SO refreshing to hear a success story generated from the private ingenuity sector. One gets a little weary hearing about massive failures from the liberal non-producing PUBLIC sector and government.
I remember that little transistor radio… It went everywhere with me day and night… Nice to remember the innocent days when liberals were still hiding behind their mommy' skirts waiting to hear it's okay to be gay or not have to work for a living. Maybe one day sanity will, once again, prevail !

Thus making it possible for a little boy to surreptitiously listen to Yankee games on the West Coast when he was supposed to be asleep. Thank you for the memory.
What does this have to do with ACORN?
Liberal Socialist Democrats(LSD party)hate radio cause its a symbol of how no one wants to hear what they say. Fox news has the largest and most diverse audience in cable TV yet our vain president wont even go on. Then he says he has no problem facing those who dont agree with him, what a coward.
POTUS without TOTUS ! The ONLY way Fox news would EVER agree to an Obamaass interview. You are quite right. LIberty 666 he is a smarmy incompetent coward who has not the intergity of his convictions.
WAIT A MINUTE ! SLAP ME ! He HAS no convictions. Sorry…..

I saw it on the radio.
I heard thon the TV this morning:
Obama has his "big guns" out on Meet the Distressed. Valerie Jarrett, Maria Schriver and John Podesta. With everything going on in the world, they are talking about "A Womans Nation". Them, talking about family values, is like Josef Mengele talking about Healthcare…….
In 1954 I was 8 years old, and everyone in the neighborhood had one of those large, massive radios in there living room. We all listened to radio programs…and all of the programs were of a moral nature. We made our own toys for the most part….and we were never bored.
If yer getting bored, keep watching the Court Case in CA regarding Obama's birth certificate, in chronological order

I was four years old at the time. I do not remember this event but I do know that it is two years after Miles Davis releases So What.
Imagine what a hit it might have been had everyone had a radio in their pockets and cars at that time. Imagine Beatniks throughout the world, snapping their fingers in unison!
A Norman Rockwell moment.. Thnks..
A Norman Rockwell moment.. Thanks..
I saw Miles Davis live in Detroit at the Masonic Temple in 1984. My attorney and I were among a handful of whites in attendance. We were very excited to be there….until the performance started. For 1.5 hours Davis blew a total of 18 notes on the horn. He was so smacked out he had to be propped up and monitored by his handlers. A total disaster from what was once a superb musician and innovative jazz classic.
Anybody remember that you could listen to one station on a radio similar to that and hear all kinds of music? You'd hear r&r, a little blues, country, r&b, pop, show tunes etc. I'm not pining for the "good old days" but it was nice to hear different sounds on one station.
Now it seems that everything is "balkanized". A little instrument like the transistor radio had a very large impact on the world.
In 1995 I saw Wynton Marsalis with the blind pianist Marcus Roberts in Mineapolis St. Paul, it was the best live music I ever heard. These cats don't need smack.

Think how far we've come in 55 years! Why is it that with all of the technology and information available at our finger tips, collectively we've become the real world "Idiocracy"? You may comment now…
I remember growing up in San Diego and picking up Mexican radio stations. I felt so "international". Sometimes you could even pick up the BBC for a minute or two, or Japan. Seeing your position in the world, the universe, in perspective, is important. We singularly are important, and important as a species, but we are not the center of all as individuals or collectively. We do not even collectively have power over the Sun or our weather, though we can trash the surface and our local air quality … not to mention a big pile of plastic poo in the Pacific. But a little transistor radio can help you understand you are not a God, but you are also not alone.
Al Gore !!!! I'm freezing my ass of here in the south !!! It was 45 degress outside last night !!!! Where is my Global warming ???
Gee, now I feel so young.
I still love transistors. What an amazing invention. I wonder how it could have possibly have been invented when such an evil like capitalism had a stranglehold on the people?
Now I shall return to my memories of my transistor radio that received our two local am stations in our little town in MT, looking forward each evening to 6pm to see from how far we would receive a signal. Farthest I remember were Chicago and New Mexico.
Remember when you could go down to Radio Shack and buy a bunch of parts and BUILD one of these your self?
Reminds me of the greatness America once strove for. Now we live in a world where everyone gets a trophy, a persons race matters more that their character, where stupidity and dependency abound. Excellence is almost a dirty word in this nightmare place created by leftists. I am disgusted to see what weak whiny things we have become.
You mean you didn't listen to the St. Louis Cardinals on "The Newsvoice of America" KMOX in St. Louis?

There are actually things that are going on in this country that
effect Americans lives. The Balloon Boy story, what does that have to do
with any of us or effect any of us personally?

OMG do I feel old!
So just before I was born this technology came out and a bunch of Russians chucked a dog into space.
Wow! now we have at the speed of light, a vast amount of the worlds knowledge in the palm of our hand and have reached so far into space and technology, star trek doesn't seem so farfetched. (ok that's a stretch)(or is it?)
If I could only imagine what my grand-kids will say at this point in their lives.

It was also this day that the U.S. formally took possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million and the first commercial long distance phone call was made. These remembrances are a good way to reflect on who we are and where we came from. We're all on a trip and history is a map, it can guide us in the right direction and help us avoid perils. It is history that also tells us that on this day Soviet troops invaded Czechoslovakia and Lee Harvey Oswald was born. History is the rock on which to model our future but, clay in hands of tyrannts.
(Do you suppose someone on this day was ever in Alaska listening to a transistor radio announcing that Kennedy had been shot when they were interupted by a long distance call from Czechoslovakia ?)

Ahh the days……
Driving the 1964 F-85 Olds around with TR_1 hanging from the rear view mirror, clunky sounds coming from the Hurst Shifter shifting between 1 and 2nd b/c the bushings were missing! Memories of that day Tricky Dick re-canting, "I am not a Crook", at least for the little respect I had for Dick he was still able to Man Up and resign when he knew he screwed up……………Unlike our current guy who apologizes for America b/c we don't Lie and Cover Up for him!
Those tiny AM transistor radios were probably one of the biggest changes to mankind's history. During the 60's and early 70's, everyone I knew had a portable AM radio like that with them since FM around my neck of the woods was still a wilderness and to get a portable radio with FM was still pretty expensive. Cheap and convenient, you could be doing something anywhere and be entertained without sitting in front of the TV or going to a movie. You could get music, news, sports ect on AM back then.
Today those little things are pretty much ancient technology as far as portable entertainment mediums go but in their day, they were cutting edge.
Ahhh radio.
And if the DEMONcrats get their way, the left wing will take over the airwaves.
Mengele or Cecile Richards. When will America wake up to the culture of death and planned enslavement that occupies what used to be the White House?
There was an interesting article in Inventions & Technology about the Regency radio. The only reason they eventually failed (aside from being dropped one too many times) was the electrolytic capacitors in them tended to fail. Some folks have resurrected these old sets by replacing these capacitors, popping in a 9V battery, and turning them on. They still work just fine.
I just watched "Not Evil, Just Wrong" and it was amazing. Lot's of scientific facts…not just ideas.
I still have my Realistic brand transistor radio from Radio Shack someone gifted to me in my early youth. It's original 9volt square battery lasted, believe it or not, at least a good ten years before it had to be changed. Subsequent batteries lasted considerably less. It's a little worn down from the years of it's service, but I took good care of it and it still works.
I hated transistor radios!!! I remember being a kid and trying to get a signal. It was a lot like using those rabbit ears things on your tv. If you held the radio just so and pulled the antenna out only so much you could get a fuzzy, static filled signal but only at certain times of the day and when Jupiter alligned with Mars or something. My kids cannot relate in this day and age of the I-pod but I remember these little radios as being the most frustrating pieces of electronic equipment of my life.
