**Breaking**: ESPN Reports Limbaugh To Be Dropped From Group Bidding to Buy St. Louis Rams

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.
Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.
Three-quarters of the league’s 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh’s potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh’s potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh’s bid.
Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.
Exactly when Limbaugh will be dropped is uncertain, though some familiar with the situation said it could be within the next week. It is unclear if the two sides even have spoken.
A Limbaugh spokesman told ESPN that Limbaugh would have no comment on Wedneday (sic). Earlier, on his syndicated radio show, Limbaugh was defiant, holding on to hope that he still could be part of the ownership group that buys the Rams.
“I’m not even thinking of exiting,” Limbaugh said on his program, according to a transcript provided to ESPN. “I’m not even thinking of caving. I am not a caver. None of us are. We have been betrayed by too many who have caved. Pioneers take the arrows. We are pioneers. It’s a sad thing but our country over 200 years old now needs pioneers all over again, but we do.”

I agree rush needs to take every one of these pieces of crap to court and hold them to account. They know what they are saying is lies. Don't make them pay for anything but the cost of filing the case – just demand that they publicly apologize for their lies, and that you Rush have the right to edit the words they speak when they apologize. Every single quote of Limbaugh’s has either been faked or taken out of context. Fidiots like Palmtree will go *sigh* when they read that argument and pretend it’s a lie, but it’s true. Not that they’ve bothered to read the entire piece or listen to it in context. Jump, the Doomocrats say, and they say “I’ll bet I can jump highest!” Limbaugh’s ratings are booming though, so for now, at least, their strategy isn’t working.
What always gets me is that Limbaugh has been subject to some really nefarious political attacks. An elected official is actually on tape saying her son works for the DA’s office and they were going to get Limbaugh, and the democrats in this country don’t find that chilling. Twice in the last ten years I’ve seen democratic senators say they were going to ‘look into’ a broadcaster’s license because of criticism of Jon Kerry and Bill Clinton. How can regular Joe democrats see that and not be appalled? It boggles the mind.

Rush exercises his First Amendment right to criticize Donovan McNab and point out a possible reason why he is being kept as starter and his comments are "toxic" and disqualify him from NFL ownership? The NFL's posturing as a paradigm of righteousness is nauseating and hypocritical in the extreme. How many of its "personnel" have done time, died violent deaths at seedy nightclubs, gone in and out of rehab for illegal drugs, etc.? This episode ranks right up there (down there?) with the specious Nobel story. My disdain for the hypocrisy of the left and the rest of the PC-driven society we're becoming is almost unlimited.

One thing we need to remember. Just as Rush is a business man, the NFL is also a business. They make what they think is the best business decision for them. I imagine they feared loosing too many advertisers if Rush was on the ticket. Look at how many companies won't advertise on Beck's tv show. The NFL is before anything else a business, and I doubt they care even a little bit about Rush's racial opinions. They want to make as much money as they can.
On the other hand, this will give Rush a huge avenue for damages when he sues all the news outlets that reported the false quotes. I'm not normally in favor of litigation, but this is why we have litigation for slander.

Rush has every right to try to be part of a group to try to buy an NFL team. There is no obligation of the NFL (which is exempt from anti-trust laws) to sell it to any group that they don't want to, for whatever reason.
The reason here is misguided, but I can see where the NFL is coming from (in fact, my argument's not against the NFL for the above listed reason), my argument is against people who are doing so for what I believe are the WRONG reasons. If they fear that a team will sell less tickets, lose advertisers due to an ownership group, then I can see them asking to remove Rush from the group.
DO i think it would happen? NO, i don't, nor do I believe the claims that Players and FA's wouldnt' go to St. Louis if Rush were a minority owner, I think that was a claim that was made up by the NFLPA head and got repeated by Goodell without confirming it. THere are only 2 PRO football leagues in the us… the UFL (at the moment) and the NFL.. that means a limited number of jobs for any player that wants to play in professional football.

When I was studying for my MBA five years ago, I was appalled to learn in my Business Law course that the course of action recommended for confronting shake-down artists such as Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson was to go into mediation as quickly as possible to minimize the potential damage. The logic given us was that such a course of action kept the company out of the headlines, and didn't run the risks that an adverse court ruling would cost the company punitive damages. CON'T
I saw then that this strategy reflects a profound stupidity about how human nature really works. The mediator congratulates himself for having "saved" the company by agreeing to a settlement that costs less than the shakedown artists original demand; but all he's accomplished is to teach the SA to make BIGGER demands in the future. And when the company belatedly tries to dig in its heels after the 3rd or 4th shakedown, the history of previous settlements will be used to convince a jury that the company has a "record" of hushing up grievances.
Sharpton and Jackson are what they are. Until business leaders learn how to stand upon principle, these race pimps will continue to call the tune.
