ACORN’s GOP Candidate Struggles For Cash
by PubliusPolitico today turns its attention to the special election in upstate New York, where GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava is, basically, out of cash:
Dede Scozzafava, the GOP nominee in a key upcoming House special election, is running dangerously low on campaign cash, according to several GOP sources familiar with her spending and fundraising.
While Scozzafava’s official fundraising numbers will not be known until Thursday, the third-quarter Federal Election Commission reporting deadline, the GOP sources acknowledged to POLITICO that she’s unable to compete financially with her two opponents.
Scozzafava supporters blame her cash crunch on the Washington Republican establishment, which they contend has not embraced her campaign enthusiastically.
Some of this lack of enthusiasm may be due to the fact that, as Capitol Confidential noted last week, Scozzafava is a long-time ally of ACORN and its Working Families Party in New York. (Doesn’t the GOP have enough problems than to associate themselves with these folks?)
The Politico story also notes that Scozzafava’s campaign tries to dismiss concerns about her chances by mentioning that it has the full backing of the state’s teachers’ union. This is, um, less than encouraging.

Just another Progressive in GOP clothing… See ya, Dede.

Do you suppose Dede might not be a Conservative?
This is what needs to happen to all of the RINO's. Maybe the GOP would start shaping up.
Well yes, thats the whole reason she is being trounced by the Conservative Party candidate.
Might as well let the Dem win rather than elect an Olympia Snow-wanna-be! At least with a Dem we know they are the enemy!
SNOWE is a flake
Vote and learn about you Congress please!!!! See the Democratic party keeps their "peeps" poor and unable to read and write to maintain "control"
When you read and learn is scares the crap out of them.

And thank you again if you have already signed it
It has nothing to do with the party, it's all about the association. Guilt by Association!
The GOP really has a death wish. Any association with ACORN now is poison.
Apparently the national GOP hasn't spent a penny on her campaign. That she is on the GOP ticket reflects the hubris and sheer stupidity of the local GOP. Twenty minutes on Google is all it would have taken those folks to vett a candidate like Scozzafava and discard her. It's time for Republicans in that area to revolt and take back the local GOP committee. Just do it.
Any Republican who support abortion rights, gay marriage, ACORN, expanded government regulations, etc should only be viewed as a Democrat in GOP clothing. Do not trust and support them. We don't need more clones of Olympia Snowe and Chuck Hagel in Congress.
Speaking of GOP candidates, Michelle Bachman has made the Number One target list, for Nancy Pelosi to defeat. Pelosi and Company are raising tons of money to defeat Bachman.
I am glad to hear that and hope she fails to win the election. AND I sure hope this continues across the country. The RINOs should be very afraid. ACORN and the Working Party are one and the same. I don't even trust the Conservative Party here in NY State!
I plan to target all the RINO's across the country by supporting their opponents in 2010 and 2012. These people do not represent us and they need to go!
My list is already forming: Snowe, Collins, McCain, Graham… any more out there I need to find across the USA? I have already written off ALL the RINOs here in NY State (I can't seem to find any Conservatives in office at all here)
Well yes she is articulate, asks pointed questions, sticks to her guns. We can't have someone like that in a Pelosi government, people might notice. I personally have enjoyed watching the lady very much. Time for some support for good decent people.
is there a Conservative Party?
There is a Conservative Party and Doug Hoffman is their candidate. He should have gotten the GOP nod if they still weren't running on the "big tent" strategy. The GOP is running a moderate to liberal candidate thinking that they can steal votes from the left and totally ignoring those on the right. As the Club for
Growth ads have stated, "Dede is so liberal, she'll be Nancy Pelosi's favorite Republican."
Hoffman is a true conservative. News that Dede is running out of money is good news for him.
What a token NUT?
sorry for the copy kat
Yes.
There are only three of us left in the whole country. We meet every Saturday at noon in my shop. We play cards, clean our guns, re-load ammunition and discuss strategy for 2010.
Fight amongst yourselves while the Democrat takes a strong double-digit lead. Thank you. The GOP supported this candidate because nobody up here wants the Conservative. We don't want these tea-baggers in our back yards. New York is a moderate state, not a redneck all or nothing state.
Very encouraging news! Give it up lady, the Libs, regardless of party are through! Not conservative, not elected!
New York is a marxist regime. A pox on you and your state. May you fail as California is failing even as we speak.
I hope you enjoy the crap they will continue to stick you with in that god-forsaken dump called New York.
Very evident in the 2006 and 2008 elections.
I rest my case. Now it's easy to see why we don't want tea-baggers in our back yards.
Divide people against each other, you can conquer them all.
We have effectively run all the Conservatives out of New York. We don't want them and their extreme ideology here in New York. Why then are people wasting time on Dede when the Democrat has a strong double-digit lead on both of them and the Conservative will be shown the door like the rest of the Conservatives we've gotten rid of here in NY? What you people call RINO's are the people we elect here and if you don't live here than mind your freakin' business.
Yeah, i live in new york, and most of the politicians are progressives. New York is an awful environment for business, just ask any CEO of a small or medium sized company. New york is a fricken nightmare, politically and economically.
So, yeah, here in new york we have effectively run all the conservative out of the state, along with a ton of jobs and businesses. Ask any business owner how friendly the business climate is, here in the great Empire State.
Yeah, its such extreme ideology to say that people should be able to keep more of their own money, via taxes. oh, the hate! i can't take it! stop, please! higher taxes in new york, NOW! I NEED to pay more taxes. I NEED TO! STOP THE HATE!
you're a fricken moron. new york is a NIGHTMARE.

Then you understand why we don't want Conservatives here. You listed off quite a few of them.
no, why don't you clarify?
you're anti-business? you don't want places for people to work? you'd prefer higher taxes, running more businesses out of new york, thus resulting in less jobs?
please, explain.
And you are a perfect example of "tolerant" liberals! NOT. Stay in New York, please, they need all the tax money you have. Good luck with the marxist regime! God bless (and help) America! And the name calling is particularly inciteful as to your ability to argue the issues!
Watch for 2010 and 2012. Could be very interesting! 2006 and 2008 are perfect examples of We the People being fed up with BOTH parties. There isn't a lick of difference between either of them at this point. that's why I subscribe to the plan of voting BOTH parties out and electing CONSERVATIVES, regardless of party.
If NY23 is any indication of how 2010 will turn out for you, we're not really worried. The only Republicans that have a strong chance of making gains or getting re-elected are being attacked by Conservatives in districts where Conservatives don't win or Conservative ideology isn't welcome. Especially Conservatives who just recently started to concern themselves with Conservative ideology after spending the last 8 years supporting and defending policies that are the most anti-Conservative imaginable. The "Hypocrite" party has hijacked the Republican party. The Republicans crawled in bed with you whackos and now they're stuck with you.
You need leadership and you have none!
I made the horrible mistake of donating to the GOP at the last election. I receive tons of mail begging me to donate to every republican cause one could imagine. The rino McHugh left us to join the Army. I used to write to my Senator and Congressman quite often until I realized that the staff edits all. When 87% of the public screams against amnesty and it falls on deaf ears of Congress I think, why am I doing this? I wrote a scathing letter to the GOP last fall when McCain bumbled the election and now I get mail from the left begging me for money. WTF! Why are there no arrests when Congress goes against the Constitution? America is crying for correction of this and there is nothing we can do? If it's money that's going to change this go ask George Soros for some of his billions. I am so angry about the state of affairs of this nation and I realize there is nothing I can do but complain. Save your mail to me, changes take the stroke of a pen not money.
