Sen. Durbin ‘Blacklists’ Home-State Radio Station
by PubliusArrogance, thy name is Sen. Dick Durbin. Big Government contributor Bob Gough has a breaking story at his news site, Quincy News.org. It seems Sen. Durbin is upset that a local media outlet informed the public that their Senator was going to be in town to discuss health care.
A spokesman for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) has said the senator’s office will no longer send media information to Quincy’s oldest radio station.
Mike Moyers, general manager/vice president of STARadio Corporation, which owns WTAD-AM (930), said Christina Angarola of Durbin’s Chicago office called WTAD on Monday to inform them they would no longer be included on the list of those receiving news releases from the senator when he plans to visit West-Central Illinois.
Moyers said Angarola was not pleased that WTAD chose to make public the time and place of Durbin’s September 4th visit to Quincy’s Blessing Hospital to hold a meeting on health care with officials from the hospital, Quincy Medical Group and politicians Quincy Mayor John Spring and State Senator John Sullivan (D-Rushville).
The news release sent by Durbin’s office on the afternoon of September 3rd said “NOTE: The times and locations of these events are for media planning purposes only and should not be published or aired in any form.”
Angarola did not respond to an e-mail from QuincyNews.org for comment.
Moyers said he believed it was important for the public to have the opportunity to approach Durbin on the health care issue when he was in Quincy, regardless of the directive in the e-mail.
“I’m disappointed the senator and his office have chosen to silence the press,” Moyers said.

The ruling class is out of control. Just more reinforcement that you can not trust anything they or their lapdog media say, print, or think. It's all fake, just like those really bad Matrix movies…
Values are completely out of phase with almost every citizen.
What a Dick.
If there is a level of slime below Harry Reid, all you have to do is dig below that to find Dick Durbin. He does us proud on a daily basis. {sigh}
BTW, there is ZERO chance he'll lose the next election, so we're all stuck with him for another six years (at least). The Republican party in Illinois is mentally challenged so don't expect help from them any time soon.

Interesting……I wonder what DICK is afraid of? Some opposing opinion(s)?
Clearly DICK is no longer working in the interest of all of his voters sp why keep him in office! Your options, Remember to vote or RECALL!
The last thing Sen. Dick Durbin wants to do is represent the people of his state. His constituents are Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and President Barack Obama. Must serve Dear Leaders above all else. Go Dick!
What a huge story. I don't know which is bigger, this or a cat-up-a-tree bulletin.

This is just a start ! Wait untill they shut down Talk Radio, Fox News and anyone else that disagrees with them. They also want control of the Internet. All of this will be in the name of fairness and diversity.
Coming soon to a town near you !!!

BOY, when the media is in the tank for 'em, they're all about the first amendment. But you let a single news outlet turn against them and WHAMMO. Who does this little radio station think they are to dare challenge the American Aristocracy? Be gone peasants!
The push back is here and now , the black listing of media outlets is the way to stifle debate. The real push back comes from Breitbarts and others who give national legs to otherwise local stories. We must draw a line in the sand and say not one more inch .
Control the media.
Ho Chi Min did it.
Saddam Hussein did it.
Achmedinijad does it.
Chavez does it.
The Chi-coms do it.
As did Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler.
Dick Durbin, Obama and the DNC have some stellar role models………..
How much more are we going to take people?
It is getting scarier by the day !
Off topic.
This is an oldie but a goody…
I just want to remind people what we are up against.

Yes, stupid people are allowed to vote.
Simple question. Who is working for whom?
This may come back and haunt him.
Sadly this kind of garbage is no longer surprising. Arrogant punk.
Sadly this kind of garbage is no longer surprising. Arrogant punk. Perhaps we need to call their offices and express our disapproval when they pull this.
Expect more of the same. We aren't in America anymore.
It's called shining a light.
If that light is too bright for you, may I suggest the New York Times or the network news shows.
WTF…Republican Party, Independents and all other…get on the ball. Durbin should be easy to defeat…GET A CANDIDATE AND DEFEAT THIS GUY! When will THE PEOPLE have had enough? I'd say about NOW!
If the light is too bright, perhaps buy some of those new CFL environmentally retarded green lo-watt light bulbs. Illuminate yourself.
Why not wait until we have state media only? Then that will be news, but who will run it?
You mean actual news? That's no fun.
"Cowboy Logic" is an oxymoron.
In corrupt Illinois? You have hope!!!!!!!!!!
This may not be the first station they are withholding info from. It might be the first one a staffer was foolish enough to call and tell them. I doubt Durbin or his staff will admit to this. In fact, I would almost bet, in the frequent words of Sen Durbin: "All too often, at the end of the day, the fact of the matter is, the folks" the Sen will deny this attempted censorship ever happened.
Ever been to Illinois ? This clown is a shoe-in for reelection
Hey Dicky- nice going! Democracy in action. You don't want any of the unwashed masses at your "townhalls." Let this be a lesson to the other media outlets in the area. Let's see if everyone else falls in line- or if they are spurred into action to REMOVE YOUR ARROGANT BUTT FROM OFFICE. You work for us, pinhead!
I can understand why he is upset. That damn meddling radio station told real people where and when to go and now ACORN thugs will have to arrive extra early in order to take all the seats up, and, as we all know, they get paid by the hour.
Is that you Bill O'Reilly?
Yep… sure is.
Sonny, with all the material on the web, if the only thing you can fire at me is a snide comment about my name, you are now out of ammunition. You best go back to Berkley and re-join your debate team. They miss their class clown.
I havent heard that before….stupod does not describe those people…….sad but true.
I havent heard that before….stupid does not describe those people…….sad but true.
We need the majority of Americans to make a fuss and make them enact term limits. We need to be free of these career politicians whose only interests are themselves and what's in it for them.
The democrats understand that talk radio audiences are primarily conservative. This is why he is upset. When conservatives know when and where he will be they will be sure to be there to correct him and/or ask non scripted questions. The last thing these politicians want to do is "discuss" health care. All they want to do is pitch a crowd for the cameras. Perhaps they will all be vying for photo ops with "doctors" so they can project the kind of symbolism and imagery that got Obama elected in the first place. No substance or facts. Just pretty pictures and endless mind numbing rhetoric to help the citizens make an "informed" decision.
Well, if you have your way, I'm guessing it will be Fox News.

Well, under the previous administration, it was Fox News.
“NOTE: The times and locations of these events are for media planning purposes only and should not be published or aired in any form.”
Translation
NOTE: Please do no disclose the time or place of our meeting to the worthless trash that put me in office, I would far prefer that this be a soap box propoganda session without any requirement to answer questions that I have no answers to. All of the MSM is welcome to attend as I have handed out the questions that I would like asked and give then responses ahead of time so you can write your stories if you cant make it!
Thanks again
Dick "Corruptician" Durban
Stuffing my pockets with your money for way to many years
If the press releases were for media planning purposes, not for public disclosure, and he publicly disclosed them, then he shouldn't be on their voluntarily distributed press release list.
Out of control? Declining to voluntarily send someone a press release is "out of control"?
What, do we have some kind of ENTITLEMENT, to free press releases?
Gee, is that one of Congress's enumerated powers in the Constitution: The public has the right to free press releases.
Out of control?
Censorship is out of control.
Which is interesting, cuz this post and the related comments are on the top of "censorship/state run media/etc".

Oops…forgot to say great post! Looking forward to your next one.
Waaa waa waa Mitchell. You liberals will stand with your people till they are pushed off the edge of the earth. By the way, it's not really flat.
All over Illinois, citizens were upset by the secret meetings of Aug and Sept held by Senator Durbin and individuals selected in each community visited by the Senator's staff.
The Senator met with the local Quincy mayor, John Spring, who had recently been underfire himself for not allowing a citizen to speak at a city council meeting.
There is support for health care reform in Illinois, but our leaders don't want input from anyone not selected by the Senator's staff in Chicago. This is particularly frightening since most Chicagoans can't find Quincy, IL on a map.
This was a blunder by the Senator. The main stream press in Illinois and the nation consider it a fly on the wall. Durbin swatted the fly just as Obama did on 60 minutes.
Americans hate to be told to shut up on any issue. We hate to be ordered to keep a secret when it comes to elected politicians. Yeah… this is a small story… discount it…if you will.
More Convergence with Jarrett
Writer Jeff Chang, who was at the May 12th meeting, discussed the gathering with the arts community, saying he saw this as an opportunity to radically change society. "If we are to be talking about demonopolization and re-regulation" of the media, he said, a "discussion has to be happening at the FCC." And such a discussion is underway at the FCC, headed by Diversity Czar Mark Lloyd, who was reportedly recruited by Valerie Jarrett.
Chang then talked about bringing this "cultural policy" to a schoolhouse near you. "If we are serious about arts education and the Artist Corps notion of putting artists to work in the schools," he said, "then the Department of Education needs to be involved, not to mention state departments of education." Coincidentally, at the May 12 meeting, William Cleveland asked Joseph Reinstein, Michelle Obama's deputy social secretary, about such a convergence, and Reinstein assured him, "President Obama has asked for greater cohesion and collaboration between agency work and departments, such as the Department of State, Department of Education [and] the White House."
This is shocking in a time when we see videos of schoolchildren singing the praises of Barack Hussein Obama to the strains of "Jesus Loves the Little Children."
Woofie, you should have your hearing checked. That's not what the kids were singing.
Durbin SUCKS!
the general public has a RIGHT TO KNOW what their elected reps are doing when they are in state.
its their chance to talk face to face to the people who serve them. For any elected official who disagrees.
well they need to be VOTED OUT OF OFFICE.
and for an elected official to be mad that information was released. GET OVER IT STUPID
