ACORN and Its Political Seed
by PubliusFrom syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker:
Now picture a triangle. One point is ACORN; another point is the SEIU; the third point is the taxpayer. Now picture arrows flowing back and forth, representing the exchange of greenbacks and services.
While various government agencies funded ACORN to help poor people become voters and homeowners, ACORN under Rathke created SEIU Local 100 (Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas) and SEIU Local 880 (Illinois, Indiana and Kansas). In turn, the SEIU wrote checks to ACORN for political activities and union organizing, according to ACORN whistle-blower affidavits. In 2008, the SEIU and Change to Win, a coalition of labor unions, gave ACORN $1,729,462, according to union financial reports filed with the Labor Department.
To break it down, ACORN and the SEIU are hand and glove. Rathke himself referred to the SEIU as “one of the pillars of the ACORN family of organizations” in a June 9, 2007, blog posting. This coziness has been long known among conservative watchdog groups, but Washington has paid little attention until now.

I guess the editors at the WaPo have figured out that the embargo on bad news about our President's co-conspirators (aka ACORN, SEIU, et al) is over. Since the votes in Congress it's now OK to state the obvious. The public would have benefited from this story before the election. The evidence was there, long before the "videos."
Interesting in the comments section, too. Plenty of "kool-aid drinkers" still want to talk about Bush and Halliburtion. Oh, and Rethug racists just want to keep the black people down. Predictable, and pathetic.
Sorry. I don't read anything Kathleen Parker writes anymore.
Andrew, when are the other videos going to be released?
It's always been obvious to me that Obama governs only for his special interests. The 787billion dollar pork barrel stimulas bill only had money for government union jobs. There's over 8billoin dollars earmarked for Acorn.Government union jobs are SEIU.SEIU gives millions of dollars to Acorn. Tens of billions of dollars to the UAW.Not one dime for the businesses that employ the vast overwhelming majority of American workers.
Most of Barak Obama's speeches are given to unions. His speech the other day to the AFL-CIO.On Labor day his speech was to the AFL-CIO and not to the American people.I thought Labor Day was an American holiday. In my view labor unions are Obama's socialist army.
Unions represent 12% of the workforce. That's why unions, Obama and the democrats are trying so hard to change as much as they can to the left before 2010.They all carry hammer and sickle tattoos.
There's a Kentucky connection.

Hey!
You beat me to it – I just clicked in here to post the same thing.
I just hope we're not going to be hearing from Peggy Noonan next, huh?
It's time for a RICO investigation and a special prosecutor. Holder has proven himself incapable of impartial enforcement of the law – he cannot be trusted to oversee this.
ACORN: “Audacity” and “Change” that Obama Represents Nationally
It's interesting how ACON people say they help poor people! Bullying banks into lending money to a person who can't afford to pay the money back is not help. It's Thuggery! We did not end up in this financial mess because of BUSH, we ended up in this mess due to preditory lending that ACON and it hiearchy of THUGS enforced! Banks, "Have you NO Shame?" And damn those SEIU THUGS bullying businesses with their foolish tactics!
Here is the lawsuit ACORN filed

Small businesses and churches have done more for poor people than all of the slime organizations (ACORN and SEIU) and politicians combined. Get government out of our lives…rich and poor…and let us lovingly help an encourage each other to grow as individuals!
Don't forget you can trace the sordid roots of Arkansas based ACORN back to the last Liberal Bastion of thuggery and buggery; Slick Willie Clinton. It was during Clinton that the "CRA" (Community Re-investment Act) came into play. Through the CRA, ACORN came into further power.
ACORN, SEIU; the Rathke brothers, Drummond Pike; Barney Frank, Chris Dodd…………

It was never about helping poor people. That was the pretext in order to serve the real agenda of increasing the scope of government. They are Statists.
But the Big Government types don't want to trust private individuals and organizations to follow their own paths.
The part I like is they bring up Hallibution and Halliburtion and oh yea Halliburtion but under Obama the list keeps growing and growing ….
The response will be interesting! I do not believe there is any case however, the 2 ex-employees of ACON may be expecting some payola to go away! Will they get it…….NO! So I guess ACON, Oops the Taxpayers will be footing the bill for ACON Lawyers. Question: Can the Taxpayers file a lawsuit against ACON for repayment of Legal Fees?
It is interesting that ACORN has morphed into Community Organizations International;
http://www.acorninternational.org/
Why is it, that a community activist organizing group funded with American taxpayer dollars would be organizing in India. Could it be because India has over one billion people? If half the Indian population donated 10 rupees a piece, that would be quite a chunk of change for the Rathkes coffers…….
Much can be learned from a man, by the words he speaks, and writes:

ACORN: “Audacity” and “Change” that Obama Represents Nationally
Why is it that U.S. taxpayers have loaned $500M to a car company in Finland in which Gore is an investor? Why is it that we can't drill off the CA coast, but U.S. taxpayers have given $2B for oil drilling off the coast of Brazil?
The looters, domestic and international, now see a window in which they can increase their fleecing of U.S. productivity. This is why the speed factor in legislation and regulation is so critical. They want to finish the deed before the U.S. taxpayers revolt.
Keep unraveling the corruption Big Government. The non mainstream media still looks so slow and irrelevant right now.
The connection is now impossible to ignore. Follow the money!
ACORNucopia of corruption!
