Is Roland Burris sure there isn't a Chicago ACORN video?
This seems like the ultimate set up… ACORN in Chicago keeps saying they broke from the parent organization years back and the Senator keeps saying they're clean at home and both keep getting louder and louder.
Seems farfetched to me that the heart of corruption would be ignored by an undercover expose – at the very least I'd hedge a bit before going on record defending them 100%.
Another leftist piece of crap, go figure from chicago. Just being in politics in Chicago is enough to distrust anyone. Burris hasn't said anything worthwhile in years.

As being a senator of Illinois he should be concerned about the coruptness of ACON.
Has Burris already benefited from any of ACORN's clients?
They must know where all of the good underage hookers work.
Perhaps him and Durbin, the other ACORN supporter, are also on tape.
Both of the IL Senators, like a lot of other politicians, are likely totally compromised and should resign.

Illinois currently has a sitting Governor ( Quinn) and sitting Senator (Burris) that were not elected.
That Chicago lords over the rest of Illinois as far as voting goes, I do not look for Illinois representation to be much different after the next election.

In fairness to the people of Illinois, they only elected ONE of them. Burris was foisted upon them at the last minute by soon-to-be-impeached Blagoyevich. There had even been some talk of stripping the Governor of the power to appoint the replacement. However the Democratic powers that be realized that the backlash might actually result in something worse than a purchased appointment. It might have resulted in, Heaven forbid, a Republican.
The good people of Illinois must, however, answer to having allowed that situation to have developed. But then again, do you realize just how hard it is to outweigh the impact of Chicago? A city of about 3 million people and maybe 5 million registered voters?

Awhile back someone made a Red Cross comparison (re: real non profit vs. a fake one). I think it’s a good point. A real non profit that was just helping the poor, we wouldn’t associate a partisan standing to them. We wouldn’t expect press releases from the Red Cross (for instance) bashing ‘the right wing’. The very fact that ACORN writes like that and everyone knows they’re in the tank for the democrats is the problem. It disproves the notion that they’re a simple group out to ‘help the poor’. They’re out to help organize the poor to vote THEIR way. Period.

Granted they may have assisted some people in finding housing. But have they empowered those people to band together to drive the drugs dealers and users out of the neighborhoods. Have they worked with police to identify and prosecute all levels of street crime? Seems to me they have failed miserably there.
Granted they may have registered some people to vote. Have they then used that block of votes to remove School Boards who fail, generation after generation, to improve the performance of their schools? Have they insisted that, whatever else their children might learn, they will be able to read, write, add and subtract before they are released upon the world? Have they championed vouchers and other methods of school-choice financing to give their "client" a REAL opportunity?
Has it taught the children to keep their zippers up and end the cycles of teen-pregnancy and single parenthood?
Senator, it seems to me that the message they send is that their clients are entitled to everything without ever having to EARN anything. That, sir, is a recipe for disaster for both the community being "helped" and the community providing it.
Burris has already announced he won't seek re-election in 2010. After the scandal surrounding his appointment to the senate, he couldn't raise the money to fund a re-election campaign.
He has nothing to lose except self respect by siding with ACORN.
