Local TV news station in Jackson, Mississippi reveals that ACORN in Mississippi has supposedly been under investigation by MS AG Jim Hood (Democrat) for 8 months but the investigation has gone nowhere and now Hood isn't commenting.

Follow the link in the press release to the actual Treasury response – Treasury only agreed to "a review of the IRS's oversight of tax exempt [organizations]" and "internal IRS referral processes with regard to nonprofit fraud investigations." Treasury did not indicate a specific intention to investigate ACORN. Not sure why the press release mischaracterizes the Treasury response. Issa should press for a direct ACORN investigation.
Someone call OSHA right now, that many paper shredders running nonstop must mandate hearing protection.
You might also have to explain to the standard ACORN employees that cranking up the volume on the background music (The Internationale) to drown out the shredders does not qualify. For management it may require a PowerPoint presentation and two memos.
If my church pulled anywhere near the kind of stunts ACORN has, its tax exempt status would be under fire in a New York minute!

One step at a time. This may seem like a small step due to the narrow investigation which it is. That is how our government works one step at a time. You never know what they may uncover, we can just hope they do not cover it up.

All through the spring and early summer I would say a prayer every day that the Obama admin and it’s cronies would be exposed for what they were. Every day from January through to early summer I would find myself dreading the news because it would continue to bring stories of porkulus, cap and tax, “I WON”, the dismissal of the Black Panthers lawsuit etc….Bad news everywhere you turned. Then the prayers started to be answered, first came the Tea Parties, then 9-12, Big Government and ACORN, the poll numbers plummeting and everyday is like Christmas now. This latest news is icing on the Christmas cake. This is what Rush Limbaugh was talking about when he said that he hoped “Obama would fail”. The funniest part of this and proof that there is a God is that the zero and ACORN were largely responsible for bringing themselves down. As my Scottish grandma used to say “give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves”. I never thought I’d say this but I hope Obamalamadingdong keeps on going on TV. By this time next year he might be impeached!
How long before Obama fires this inspector general? That's what he did last June when he fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin, who uncovered questionable SEIU/Acorn activity involving Obama's pal and former NBA star Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. It was in the news for a few days, but no one really cared much then. No one except a few of us evil right wingers!

So the Inspector shows up and asks for records. My suspicions is not regarding shredding, just sloppy office work. I can't imagine they having good files and clerical staff that organizes records. The very first day when they examine bank statements and images of checks they will se co mingling of funds and transfers. Wade is history. He will get protection in the Brazilian embassy in Hondorus.
Audits are not fun for small operators. The feds will remind them hourly that improper record keeping is a huge problem. It is illegal to work out of a shoebox.
Boys and girls, I think this investigation might actually have some teeth to it. I hate to speak too soon, so please forgive my optimism. The Department of the Treasury is the closest thing so far to an independant investigator. I hope they fry their butts!
I may have spoken too soon. This came from the treasury website concerning IG J. Russell George: "he implemented the legislation establishing the Commission for National and Community Service, the precursor to the Corporation for National and Community Service." I really hope we can trust this guy. Wait a minute, what did I just say? OH MY GOD!!!
we have a saying in the business world: until the contract is signed, everything is merely words. so, until acorn is dismantled, everything is merely words.
Now we are on the right track. This is what I really wanted to happen.
Just a few things to keep in mind:
Lets hope that this Inspector General is not intimidated by the fact that the President illegally fired another Inspector General not too long ago because he didnt like the results. (I believe this is too big and too visible for him to get away with it again. On the other hand this administration seems to have its own version of reality.)
This investigation is going to take longer than President Obama is in office. This is ACORN and all of its various subsidiaries and organizations. There are going to be warehouses of data, depositions, etc to gather and review.
I do not worry that the IG will find nothing. I think even if some of the data is no longer available there will be such a mess of records that it is not possible to eliminate all evidence of wrong doing. I just think it will be a while in coming. In fact the first indictments may come in about a year, year and half…just in time for a new campaign season for the White House. This single event (Hannah and James reporting) may well be the impetus that brings down the most progressive leadership in the history of the United States.
Hell of a resume enhancer huh?
ACORN gave MS AG Jim Hood, a Democrat, a grade of 'A' in 2008 which may explain why he has not aggressively pursued charges against ACORN Mississippi.

As I understand it, thanks to Judge Andrew Napalitano, corporations are treated as individiuals when it comes to free speech. For that reason alone, with or without colusion by Baucus and Blum, this is completely illegal. Not only are they breaking the law by impeeding free speech, but they have egg on their face because their excuse was proven false by the OMB (I think it was the OMB, or maybe the CBO). Baucus should lose his leadership position of the committee and be disciplined by the Senate for engaging in illegal activity.
And Humana, and any other insurance company who wants to, should not stop educating their customers with the documented truth.

Please, do not be delusional. A couple of low level ACORN employees will take a hit, but the "investigation" will fall far short of damaging the chosen one. As we speak there are fearsome looking thugs dressed in dashiki's and funning looking multi color caps destroying records in ACORN offices nationwide. The lack of evidence will be explained away as poor record keeping.

It's organized crime. A fraud scheme involving political kick-backs, payoff loops and funding for the Democrats via intentionally buried, obfuscated and confusing tentacles. A RICO charge is quite in order in my view and I don't even yet know the full extent of the ACORN-TIDES-DNC-MoveOn, etc. funding loopbacks. I suspect that ACORN is "merely" the tip of the corruption spear.
And I strongly doubt that ANYone will obtain any written records beyond misfiled illegible nonsense here and there because groups/orgs such as this do not maintain reasonable written records. THUS, even more reason that these expose tapes/recordings made by O'Keefe and Hannah are quite so important. ACORN and all associated require more aggressive investigation than mere "let me look at your records" requests.
And SEIU most certainly is involved in equal measure "with" ACORN, et al and should by all means be actively, aggressively investigated by all concerned. That union in CA alone is keenly responsible for the travesty that today is the Leftwing CA legislature, and, also, for the presence of Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer in D.C. SEIU is not an aimless, well intentioned "workers union", it's a political arm of and for the DNC.
