Wash Post: ACORN Video Scandal is ‘Only the Latest Crisis’

In a June 2008 report to ACORN, Washington lawyer Elizabeth Kingsley, who conducted an independent review of the group’s finances, expressed concern that inadequate documentation of money transfers between ACORN and an allied organization, Project Vote, would make it difficult for either group to respond effectively to questions about whether tax-deductible charitable contributions were used for political purposes. She also noted conflicts created when decision-makers at the tax-exempt entity had roles in political activities carried out by other groups.

Conflicts of interest, co-mingling of funds, cross corporate pollination and the list goes on, and on. Every business practice practiced by ACORN simply flies in the face of Good and Accepted business practices. If this were a public company, an Enron, a Coca-Cola, a Berkshire Hathaway, there would be such a Political outcry that there would be bodies hanging in the public square. Instead, ACORN is Obama's ox, and it is not to be gored. I wonder what spin Baghdad Bob Gibbs will put on this Monday morning……..

I want someone to fully investigate Obama's ties to this group, and why was this not done prior to his election?

Acorn and all it's spin off groups need to be taken down due to years of corruption and scandal. This latest episode shows how bad they really are. I am afraid if we do not keep the pressure on it will be swept under the rug yet again.
Most on the left, and some on the right, have known about the corruption, turned a blind eye or have taken kickbacks or ACORN's support for years. These Senators and Congressmen need to be investigated and either voted out or sent to prison.
We the People expect and demand it.

I cannot believe that OB thinks that this kind of corruption exposed in the videos by a 501c organization directly linked to the Democratic Party and the POTUS is not a “major national issue.

As the article points out, more than half of ACORN's money comes from private donations.
ACORN must be stripped of its tax-exempt status. Its pose as a 'non-partisan' 501(c)(3) is an unbelievably naked fraud. ACORN is 100% political and hyperpartisan.

The plot is becoming obvious. Overburden the country with benefits that produce more debt than the system can bear thus bringing capitolism to its knees under its own weight of fiscal ruin.

ACORN's suggestion of internal audits are useless. The last time ACORN conducted an internal review, they just terminated the same people appointed to conduct said review when the results were not favorable. This needs to be a review conducted by the DOJ. With all of the problems in ACORN's past, I am sure there will be much more coming to the fore if a thorough, external investigation is conducted.

This is no joke at all. Does Democrats have used ACORN as their plantation slaves shoveling money for them? Is that why you see all low level Acorn workers as corrupt as their leaders? Because they knew in a cynical way they are stacked being poor and honesty will get them nowhere. Does the democrats have brainwashed and used others as their boogey-men while they loot in the name of helping the poor? Most of ACORN workers are not allowed to unionize, quick turnover of employees, no paid overtime and even pay lower than the prevailing wages. These poor worker were probably hoping if they stay long enough they can be eventually rewarded to loot the system as well. Let us asked how much their directors and CEO get paid compare with their workers.
We may laugh, cry, sneer or simply shake our heads in disgust at the whole ACORN scenario, BUT… Thanks to Britebart, Jones, Giles and Beck (to name a few)there will be punishing pressure to expose ACORN in all its lurid detail. Support toward this goal is not an option for true Americans.I believe there is SO MUCH MORE to be reported and unveiled. I also believe that it will lead to and incriminate The One ! If you were to ask an ACORN financial or accounting employee what the acronym "GAAP" stands for you would likely receive a response having to do with a retail clothing chain. It is not so much the apparent stupidity or ignorance….they are simply agenda driven. OH ! And BTW… "GAAP" stand for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
