Senators Call on Reid to Launch ACORN Probe
by PubliusLast week, the United States Senate delivered a very public rebuke of ACORN. 83 Senators went on record to say that ACORN should be prohibited from receiving any more federal housing grants. But, the outrage over ACORN’s activities didn’t end with this public display. Big Government has obtained a private letter, sent by 28 U.S. Senators to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. In the letter, reproduced below, these Senators demand a series of hearings to probe the criminal allegations against ACORN. As the adage goes, ’sunlight is the most effective disinfectant’.
28 Senators are calling now for sunlight on ACORN. When will the others follow?

In the wake of this incredible series of reports, I've been thinking a lot about whether Al Gore might now actually regret ever having invented the Internet. Seriously, between this and Drudge Report, it's hard to imagine Al not working right this second on finishing up that time machine so he can go back and "fix" this whole Internet thing.

I really can't believe how fast this is moving. I bet all the tea parties and the march on DC played a huge part in this. I wish I could have gone to DC, but taking care of 3 grandkids prevented that.

Has anybody else noticed that Mr. Glenn Beck is correct on another point? I tried to find out things on the POTUS involvement with ACORN and all the links are dead. The trail is being hidden even as I type this. However, I do not think it will work because I think people have coppied all the stuff to cd's or dvd's already. They are trying to cover this stuff up.

People are definitely trying to white wash content on the internet. I was doing research on Jeff Jones (apollo alliance, weather underground co-founder, movement for a democratic society) and his links to the governor in my home state of new york. Last friday night, his info was all over the apollo alliance web site. When i went to double check a couple days later, his name and info has been taken off the page. I already printed the cached web pages with his info, but it just goes to show that there is info being removed at a rapid pace and people need to get on it.

Except that most of us have ALWAYS agreed that those are both states' jurisdiction, not federal. If a state populace wants to vote it into acceptance, then they should. If a state populace wants to vote against those things happening legally within its borders, they should have that right, as well.

I'm of the Libertarian bent and actually agree with you. I understand the why many are uncomfortable with what you are saying, but think that that discomfort should be reevaluated. Permitting abortions (first trimester!) and gay marriage are both better for freedom and for society. Logic backs me up on the former, facts on the later.

Jim McDermott (D-WA) is my rep and I emailed him today asking several pointed questions about his vote ("no") on defuding ACORN. I will write to him every day. And call his office. I don't want to harrass him, I want to know why he is defending this criminal organization. I think it's because he thinks he's safe from being thrown out. Once again, if you are taking the time to comment here, I urge you to go to Congress.org and let your representatives know how you feel. If they are doing the right thing, let them know. But if they are not doing what is right, they are complicit and need to be called to task.
