ACORN Story Fells the Big Oaks of Mainstream Media

If there’s one story that’s had it all in the past week it’s the series of undercover reporting stings that have uncovered the true nature of ACORN – the Association of Community Organisations for Reform Now. It’s got sex, misuse of taxpayer funds, the condoning of illegal activity by officials and connections to Barack Obama.
You would be forgiven for having missed it, however, because it’s got almost no play in the mainstream media. It wasn’t the “New York Times”, CNN or NBC who broke the story. Rather, it was two twenty-something independents with a few thousand dollars, a bit of time and a lot of guts.

You are correct; The Canadian Free Press, and the Financial Times of London are overing this story. International news networks always have a better perspective of US, and is always a good barometer of where we are in Global Standings. Currently, we just slipped a whole lot today, whe Borat Obongo bailed on our European Allies on the missile deal. What he did today, was no different than the last great Dimmocratic President, James "The Earl" Carter giving the Panama Canal back.

Sorry, but this is one of the lamest ideas I've ever heard. What do you think most conservatives are fight for? Among many things, we are fighting people who want to solve every political issue in the Courts. The Courts have no place in dictating what the Congress and President do. That's for the American people during election to solve. The Courts have stuck their collective noses into so many issues that are none of their business, i.e., abortion, military tribunals, civil rights for non-u.s. citizen terrorists etc. We don't need anymore court interference with our legislative process and for issues vested in the President by the U.S. Constitution, the greatest document ever known to man.

An interesting thing is that in “chat rooms” people can be anonyms. They like to outlaw that, because they cannot get who is opposing their power in the public space. Local and international news are basically constructed, through a system of selective focus.
I have watched this for 40 years, and until we got internet I thought I was alone seeing the scam. Then there is small group of compatriots, and a few have their own web sites. They are attached in the same way Carter use “racism.” They will use historic parallels: You are like the people who attacked Jews in the 30ties. These same people support directly organizations in Middle East, that have in their statues that the Jews should be exterminated in this time.
I have written under an alias, and smoked out these people, because I know all their methods, for stopping debate. They hate debate, and that’s why they went after intelligent people, ruined their reputation with lies. So sensible people vacated the public debate.

I will refrain from either reading any comments here or posting any of my other opinions. Suffice it to say, I am sure that we likely disagree on about 99.9% of things. That said, I would like to compliment Mr. O'Keefe on uncovering & bringing to light the shenanigans at ACORN. Prior to the video hitting the news and internet, I must admit I barely had any idea what ACORN did and was very skeptical of any criticism of them since it seemed to come almost exclusively from the "right". The activity in these videos is simply shocking and indefensible and to attempt to defend ACORN at this point seems foolhardy and likely to do nothing more than damage the reputation of the defender. No matter how Left or Right anyone may be, surely we must still be able to know Right from Wrong.
Well I just heard on Hannity that someone in CA, a farmer, is suing the government over the water issue. So that answers my question huh?

I keep links to CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and a few other MSM websites in my Favorites drop-down window only so I can go there occasionally to check up on the unpaid ads for the Democrat Party, apologist articles for Dear Leader's screw-ups, and whatever other laughably transparent campaign they're running to pump up this administration and advance its agenda. Otherwise, I go to Fox, Big Government, Big Hollywood, Charles Krauthammer, Victor Davis Hanson, Laura Ingraham, Thomas Sowell, Power Line and several other sites that will give me the unvarnished truth. Why the MSM can't seem to "get it" after years of this foolishness baffles me. It's time, IMHO, for the networks' lawyers to start drafting their living wills so when time comes to pull the plug, we won't have to watch the throes for too long.

If you keep an open mind, take a honest look around you and abandon preconceived notions of what you call the "right", I think that percentage figure would drop to around 25% or less. IMO.

In a more objective world, Jamie and Hannah would be “Persons of the Year” of a major news weekly. I can’t remember a time when a couple of citizens with no prior major support have gone from anonymity to bringing down a huge corrupt machine in only one week. Yes they had support from Breitbart – after the had done most of the heavy lifting. Yes they were big on Fox News. But I think you would have to go back to Watergate to come up with a comparable impact of a couple of journalists. Bravo!!!
The old media is doing a good job at shooting themselves in the foot. They have made it so that people are embarrassed when I ask them where they are getting their news and they say something like "NBC" – and they should be embarrassed. The old media no longer has any real value in reporting the news. In the modern era it is here, even Drudge has gotten a bit slow compared to this place.
It seems as if the strongest instinct those in Congress have (even stronger than the instinct some seem to have for Corruption) is the instinct as to how to get re-elected.
Rather than to worry about what the ex-MSM are doing, it seems to me that our best (as American Citizenry) course of action at this time is to make each and every one of those in Congress know that, any vote that serves to promote corruption, take the US further from where the Founding Fathers intended for us to go, that serves the interests of our enemies, permits the Executive Branch to ignore the Constitution, or makes no fiscal sense, will summarily result in their loss in the next election in which they stand for re-election.
Without the cooperation of the Congress, the President is unlikely to be able to make the changes that seem to most moderate and conservative individuals in the country to take us further from where we need to go..
We can no longer just "Shake our Heads" when we see things that just don't make sense.
This all makes perfect sense now. Farmers will have to sell off their land to survive and lo and behold — here comes the "green" movement to save them. Is saving a 2" fish more important than saving families livelihood? If this is the case, then Princess Pelosi should have the pumps turned off at her "vineyards" as well. I'm sure she wouldn't want to be shown any "favoritism" or "entitlement" because she is Speaker of the House. As if……
It is a very important story that the left stream media fails to tell – all the environmental radicalism that hurts people very much. Who appointed these control freaks to run our lives? It was very sad and I seriously hope that some sort of common sense group gets out there and stops this and helps those people in the valley.
