A serious question … how can we as citizens force the DOJ (FBI) to start an investigation into this alleged corruption of Acorn which will possibly lead to direct ties to certain politicians? I can only imagine that there are great DOJ law enforcement officials who are chomping at the bit to begin investigating, but their boss – Eric Holder – a friend of Obama is holding them back. If Acorn was a normal business advocating how to defraud the IRS, set up illegal businesses, and house underage prostitutes, the DOJ would have slapped the CEO in jail by now.
There must be a way for us "defrauded" citizens to force OUR law enforcement agency to investigate alleged corruption. How do we do this?

It's a step in the right direction but it's still not enough! Until every American can have faith that the corruption and false statements have ended in government only then will we be safe. The main reason that more things do not get done the right way is because of the intimidation that the government emposes on us. I love our country and I believed the government was our friend but, as I've gotten older and wiser I now realize it has been part of the master plan to bring us all into a false sense of sercurity until BAM we couldn't stop it once we realized what was going on. Until we all, republicans, democrates and others stand up and say no in unity we will never get our country back. If we just do it a couple here or there we would be singled out and made to pay so it has to be done in unity.

Ms. Lewis was so adamant that this corruption was created to smear ACORN. I believe that she probably halted all new intake interviews only to protect them from other "copy-cat" investigators. Don't believe a thing they say or do. We've got to demand a thorough investigation of the entire ACORN organization – from the lowest levels of employees and clients, to the politicians involved and the senior management. This is a corrupt organization, through and through.

I don' t trust this one bit. It will be interesting to see who leads this independant investigation. Everything this organization does is laced with underhanded and devious intentions. I wouldn't even trust Eric Holder to lead this. To this humble writer, this seems to be a golden oppurtunity to carry out a meaningless investigation so they can say, "Look, we cleaned up!" and then go right back to their same tactics. As always, a few, meaningless heads will role while the Rathke brothers remain… perhaps under a different name for their organization. An "Independent review" is not the same as a Congressional Criminal Investigation. An Independent review is not good enough -we can't be sold a bill of goods that is made to look like something that it is not – this needs to be a full fledged Criminal Investigation and nothing less!!!

I volunteered for them in college (@ Northwestern) and have managed charitable drives on their behalf. No agenda except to help people in trouble (legally!!) navigate the world. It can be low income people, but also people who lack skills, or find them selves in difficult situations, to the elderly. They help with everything from resumes and jobs, to internet skills, to applying for help from charities or social services.

ACORN is wicked and all it's branches need to be, in the words of another organizer "cast into the fire".

If this had been a conservative organization with ties to the GOP, the press would've treated the story of the first tape like it was Watergate redux. It would've been everywhere, 24-7. But because it's a "progressive" group with ties to the Dems, they dragged their feet as long as possible and then still tried to cast it as an effort to bring down a group that really helped all those poor unfortunates.

We can only hope that there are enough good people still left in Washington that this is followed to be sure it isn't tainted. that in and of itself will be a mammoth job. I certainly over-simplified. I think the point of these tapes, ultimately, is that our system has become terribly corrupt. The FBI is still a federal bureaucracy, and politics this heavy get kicked upstairs in a real hurry. I disparage not the FBI, but the Justice Department leadership who would be using the information (and controlling it) that the FBI would uncover. In light of some egregious examples recently such as Richardson and the New Black Panthers, I would have been, in the filmmakers' case, highly skeptical that my smoking gun would ever be read into evidence.

As to why they waited, well, Breitbart is no dummy, and I'm sure he wanted his ducks in a row for the launching of this campaign and web site, and to make sure they were bullet-proof going forward.

The public backlash that these films are creating should allow for an investigation, but one that will be impossible to keep quiet. I think of it as the same result reached from another direction.

Both Congressional houses will set up "inquries," seeking to shut down discussion until after the 2010 elections. Republican efforts will be buried. The White House will wash its hands of it all. The "major" media
will black out any mention of the matter, and will run desperate Obama puff-pieces. They will label any

That water thing – I've been following it for awhile – they actually have to ship in food to central CA because of Gov. Schwartz. cut off all water except 10%. I've driven thru that area – it used to be lush with growing crops. I don't even recognize it anymore. They get like $0.18/gal. and then get taxed to hell on that.

Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is heading up the "Defund ACORN Act" and trying to get them investigated along with non-funding them; but that Senate vote of 83-7 in favor of "defunding" them is only the start. The House has to vote on it yet – and Pelosi will let it SIT in the House 'til they forget it and they'll get their money, and you and I will still be paying for ACORN's illicit operations and they will STILL support Obama and the 2010 elections to keep the democrats in office! Obama can automatically, without congressional support, STOP the funds coming into ACORN and ORDER an investigation on them, but he's remaining SILENT! It's turning into a dust bowl. They could possibly start having the dust storm black outs of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl circa1920's-30's. Not sure on the exact date, but I saw a documentary on it – it was scary – a wall of sand coming at you & your house and there was nothing you could do about it. You know, a couple of years ago, I had to do a paper on GW for a college class I was taking (it was a liberal prof. teaching all this crap – called Environmental Communication – a Communications class based on how to put forth env. issuses in the media – I thought from the discription that it was about using your communication in your environment – got that one wrong – was stuck taking it), but anyways, in this paper, I found evidence on a Canadian website and others to disprove GW. Most GW theory is based on the "hockey stick" theory. Too complex to go into here – but anyways, every environmentalist quotes this "hockey stick" theory in their research. The articles I found by scientists say that "hockey stick" was a flawed study and point to the study's parameters when it took place. It is all wrong. I proved my point in the paper – but she gave me a c+ on it anyway – and I have always gotten "A's" in the past. From there on, she gave me lower grades in the class. Boo Hoo – I could have made a case for discrim – but we're not all a bunch of weiners like these kooky "victims." She was just mad 'cuz I proved her wrong!
