Don: Ok here’s my question, Senate bill yesterday passes cutting off funds to this group called ACORN. Now we got the…we got that bill passing, we got the embarrassing video of ACORN staff giving tax advice on how to set up a brothel with 13 year old hookers. It has everything you could want corruption and sleazy action at tax funded organizations that’s got government ties. But nobody’s covering that story why?
Charlie Gibson: (laugh) I don’t even know about it. Uh, so you got me at a loss, I don’t know. Uh, uh, but, but My goodness if it’s got everything including sleaziness in it we should talk about it this morning.
Roma: This is the American way…

It will be interesting to see the "slant" Katie puts on this ACORN mess. Probably come at it from the angle of how ACORN wants to be in the front runner position of helping young women find a prosperous career in these difficult times of unemployment (you know, that recent rise in unemployment that Sarah Palin undoubtedly caused.) And then Katie will go on to win the Nobel Peace Prize or something cuz she's got that cute smile.

That 's it in a nutshell (no pun intended!)…A lot of people in my little southern Mississippi town are totally unaware that all of this is going on…nothing on the local TV stations, newspapers,and surprise!!! nothing out of New Orleans. I'm trying to do my part, but ,it's not easy…Ignorance is bliss!
Personally, I think it would be nice to inform all the sponsors of the major news networks, who are not carrying all the news , Fair and Balanced , that their products will no longer be purchased. There has to be a way to get ABC and NBC and 60 minutes to start reporting news as it happens and with no political agenda. There's talk radio and shows like "The View", etc. to cover political angles. The news media gets many priviledges. They abuse it. Their Press Pass should be revoked if they decide to take a political position over reporting just the facts. News should not be in bed with anyone or any political agenda, special interest group or politician. They ignore stories that don't promote their cause and have big releases on stories that help their cause. The problem with organizations like ACORN, and with government corruption in toto, is that it functions like a Hydra: cut off one head, and two grow back. Sure, you can cauterize the wound, you can quarantine one limb and hope the virus of corruption stops metastasizing, but the only way to KILL the beast is to strike at the core and rip out its heart.
I hate to admit this, because I believed in the man with all my heart, but right now, Barry looks like the core of the corruption.
If it is not in the New York Times (and this story was not except for 3 times I believe), the networks don't report it. It is such a crutch for them. Read Bernard Goldberg's classic book "Bias" (it breaks down the network news pretty well).
