About 10 minutes ago, I noticed, on CNN that they were talking about the DC Acorn videotape…. So… I turned up the volume. I was surprised to see that CNN was starting to cover the story. (kinda forced to… ya think? )…. At the end, the “commentator” came on, as said… something like… “in an UNRELATED story, the census bureau will sever ties w/ Acorn”… Unrelated ???? I think not. The quote he read from the Census folks, to Acorn, said, in so many words…. That this action was taken because of recent activities. …. And, they (CNN) said… that the DC Acorn employees were fired. (also good news)…. (when are Rangel and Pelosi going to get fired??)

…. This is good, the truth is coming out…. The next month will be interesting to watch how it plays out. Even more interesting… will be the next congressional election.

If I understand this correctly, a supposedly non-partisan and non-political, non-profit organization is planning to use my tax dollars to bring legal action against an American company and, likely, two American citizens. Non-profit organizations must be non-political in order to maintain their non-profit status. Many of the comments from ACORN supporters have been claiming this to be an attack on President Obama. If they are non-political, how can this undercover sting be an attack on a politician? I do not want my tax dollars to go toward legal action against American citizens who have simply brought corruption to light.

Does anyone else see a trend here? If you don't like what the opposition is doing, paint them as mobsters or Nazis. If there appears to be a legitimate grassroots uprising, assign the blame for that uprising asmanufactured and paid for by "wealthy special interests". Certainly is not possible to have an honest disagreement. Any disagreement must be racially motivated. And of course, any legitimate journalism (much of Fox News *is* legitimate journalism, though there is a fair amount of opinion/analysis in their programming also) must be a consipiracy to defame if there is anything turned up that is unflattering.

I believe this happens because this is how the Left does business and they dont know any other way for activism to take place. Its not just this lady from ACORN, Speaker Pelosi does the same thing. Analysts on Fox News from the Democrat Party have done the same thing. But the Left is accustomed to news organizations that are partial to their agenda, so they assume that any news agency that is not on their side is against them (rather than being fair and balanced).

I seem to recall Glenn Beck saying to Hannah something about how he hoped that FoxNews would hire her. That indicates to me that she is not an employee of Fox currently, and so they should not be liable for this investigative reporting. The ACORN employees knew they were doing something wrong, and they had apparently no compunction about moving forward. This organization is either totally corrupt, or they are so large that their "few" bad apples are so numerous that they are really easy to find.

It is a violation of the rules of professional responsibility for an attorney to threaten criminal prosecution (except for bad checks). Since the criminal law can only be enforced by the district (or state) attorney, such a threat coming from a private attorney is false.

The statement makes no sense. If the tape was edited and what it shows didn't really happen, then why did they fire the employees? Why didn't they stand behind them? Because they know the tape is not edited and everything went down just as shown in the tape.

Even if the couple tried this undercover operation in a total of seven different cities to get the two tapes as ACORN claims, that still means that 28% of the ACORN employees were willing to condone and/or facilitate tax evasion, prostitution, child prostitution, and other crimes.

This woman's statement caused me to recall my grade school social studies classes back in the 60s. When covering the Reconstruction, there were, what seemed to be a lot of former slaves and free blacks coming to power in both the public and private sector. I thought this great as an entire race of Americans had rallied from hundreds of years of slavery. Ironic justice, it was. Many prominent blacks faded from prominence and some were even brought up on all sorts of nefarious charges. Why did this happen? Often they teamed up with powerful and unscrupulous whites with more than a healthy helping of greed. Most of that lot got their comeuppance and blacks were mostly absent from public prominence. All because of the carpetbaggers.

After nearly a hundred years of hard work on the part of many honorable and devoted African Americans, they started taking prominent positions on the public and private sector stages. Senator Edward Brooke paved the way, along with many other black public and private people to gain the respect of the American public. Smart and honorable people slowly overcame that century of carpetbagger memories and other racist sentiments to let all colors compete on the basis of merit. Where merit was demonstrated, success often followed. Success was large or small depending upon their gifts and talents. That's the American Dream.

Now, a bunch of powerful and unscrupulous white folks have fallen in with a bunch of unscrupulous black folks in the pursuit of greed. Just like a hundred years ago, the greed was for money and power with the new added attraction of control. How long will it take to send them back to share the same place in history as their Reconstruction counterparts. Carpetbaggers didn't catch on back then. They won't catch on now.
