Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., (R-Southwest Louisiana), today called for a hearing to investigate the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and their tax filing assistance programs following evidence of suggested tax fraud.
“In light of the apparent flagrant and willful attempts to suborn tax fraud, I ask you to schedule a hearing of the Oversight Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee as soon as practicable to investigate ACORN’s activities in providing tax advice and tax preparation services, as well as whether ACORN has conducted activities inconsistent with the requirements for retaining tax-exempt status under Code section 501(c)(3),” Boustany said. “These serious allegations involve the administration and enforcement of our Federal tax laws, which fall directly under the jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Oversight.”
Boustany, Ranking Member of the Oversight Subcommittee for the House Ways and Means Committee, has jurisdiction over tax policy and the Internal Revenue Service.

Dear Chairman Lewis:
I was deeply disturbed by a video that came to my attention yesterday in which an official for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) instructs individuals on how to violate Federal laws (including tax laws) in most disturbing and unsettling ways. If you have not seen it, I urge you to review the video, which can be found at: http://biggovernment.breitbart.com/.
In light of the apparent flagrant and willful attempts to suborn tax fraud, I ask you to schedule a hearing of the Oversight Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee as soon as practicable to investigate ACORN’s activities in providing tax advice and tax preparation services, as well as whether ACORN has conducted activities inconsistent with the requirements for retaining tax-exempt status under Code section 501(c)(3).
As the video clearly shows, a male and a female posed as individuals seeking housing and tax assistance from ACORN, whose staff coached them on how to commit Federal tax fraud. In addition to advising these individuals to underreport their income to the IRS, when the filmmaker and his colleague informed ACORN officials that they intended to transport underage girls from El Salvador into the United States for illicit purposes, an ACORN official advised them that they could claim up to three of these girls as dependents for the purpose of claiming refundable child tax credits. Such conduct shocks the conscience on many levels, and given the implications for Federal tax administration, further investigation by this Subcommittee into ACORN’s activities is most certainly warranted.
Unfortunately, evidence has mounted that ACORN has exhibited a consistent pattern of blatantly disregarding Federal tax laws. A July 23, 2009 minority staff report published by the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Oversight and Government Reform found that, “By intentionally blurring the legal distinctions between 361 tax-exempt and non-exempt entities, ACORN diverts taxpayer and tax-exempt monies into partisan political activities.” After detailing significant evidence, the report concluded that, “ACORN appears to have violated the Internal Revenue Code.”
These serious allegations involve the administration and enforcement of our Federal tax laws, which fall directly under the jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Oversight. As such, I respectfully request that the Subcommittee schedule a hearing to investigate ACORN’s activities as they pertain to its tax-exempt status and to its tax advice and tax preparation services.

What, as we don't know what's best for OUR country citizens, do to make sure ACORN, and this investigation, is followed through on and they are shutdown for good!!!!!!
If this "prostitute" had approached any other tax adviser:
1) They would have thrown her out of their office in the first 30 seconds which means
a) She would never have registered her "services" with the IRS ,and would never have paid any taxes – just like most prostitutes
b) She would never have been told that having these under-age girls work for money was illegal
c) Neither the "prostitute", her "pimp", or the community would have been better off
At least this ACORN employee offered the "prostitute" some connection to the community.
Would it have been more, or less, legal for the "prostitute" to register her work as a "dancer" and pay taxes, then to pay no taxes at all? Would the ACORN tax adviser have made this woman more, or less, obedient to the law once she started paying taxes?

ACORNS own employees have been trying to get that information and have been unable to do it. It is all laundered through a central location and no one seems to know who or how that money is appropriated and spent. Its the finance division of a larger organization that contains dozens of entities including community organizers and unions, of which, I believe SEIU is a member. All of the money that gets collected goes through this central organization and falls behind a curtain. All local donations go through this finance division and from what I understand is very rarely ever spent on the local level for which the money was donated for. This is all from memory so I'm afraid I cannot recall the names. I suppose what I'm trying to say is the only way you are going to be able to see any of this is through a very thorough court ordered investigation. Problem is the POTUS is protecting this organization and the libs control everything in DC, so I guess we will see how far down the rabbit hole we have actually traveled when others start to call for a closer look.

This is the Congressional Oath of Office, and it would be nice if all members of the House and Senate took their oaths so seriously. It would be even better if we had a recall amendment that allowed us to remove them from office when it becomes so glaringly apparent that they consider this an oath of convenience. Consider Section 1, Amendment XIII of the Constitution:
"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Fox's attempt to smear ACORN Thursday September 10, 2009 is despicable, part of a coordinated, long-term campaign by Fox to damage ACORN, the premiere community organization of low- and moderate-income people in the United States. Every day ACORN members are working for health care reform, living wage jobs, to end the foreclosure crisis, and to strengthen our public schools. For its part, Fox is running a campaign to demonize ACORN. They will get attention, but they will not succeed.
In July 2009, Fox agents attempted to enter ACORN offices in New York, in Philadelphia, in San Diego, in Los Angeles, and possibly other locales. In each case they were turned away, and in Philadelphia ACORN staff were concerned enough that a police report was filed. In Baltimore, the Fox squad deceived ACORN staff by consistently misrepresenting their intentions. No tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided. But the ACORN personnel in question have been terminated because their handling of the Fox agents provocateurs did not meet ACORN's standards of professionalism.
The larger pattern of Fox's irresponsible actions here is the real news. From Glenn Beck calling President Obama a racist, to Fox inciting racism and threats of violence with the Teaparties, to Fox unleashing a hit job on ACORN the day after an inspiring Presidential healthcare speech before Congress, Fox has long since abandoned any journalistic pretense. It is clear and not coincidence that FOX continues to attack and divide our nation along racial lines. You seemed to missed the part where the Acorn worker, after hearing that the expected annual income was 96K told her to declare only $9600 in income. One doen't pay any taxes on such a low income, especially with 13, errrr, 3 "dependents."

If you stop for a moment and consider–any proponent of murdering the unborn has already revealed he has no understanding of moral law and therefore nothing that comes from their mouths can be trusted. If a covering of skin, the mother’s belly obscures a “fact” that human life is there, then the intelligence that accepts ignorance for knowledge is incapable of distinguishing true from false or real from unreal. Such person can never be employed in a responsible position in government either to make or enforce law.In the future governing bodies should be chosen from amongst the smallest group at the present moment–those that know clearly that the soul exists eternally seperate from the body. One who does not know himself can know for sure nothing else.
