WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Steve King today reacted to a tape released by an independent filmmaker showing Baltimore-based ACORN workers assisting a man and a woman claiming to be involved in a prostitution ring. According to FOXNEWS, “Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.”
“Taxpayers should be outraged that their money has gone to an organization that, in addition to facing charges of voter fraud and tax violations, is willing to facilitate prostitution,” King said. “As this video confirms, ACORN continues to operate as a criminal enterprise. Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Barney Frank and other Democrats on Capitol Hill continue to protect and fund ACORN while blocking Congressional hearings on ACORN’s operations and finances. Shielding ACORN from oversight ensures that this partisan criminal enterprise will continue its shady practices while collecting taxpayer funds.”

My advice would be to contact your individual representatives and express due outrage that a government funded organization feels it is okay to promote sex trafficking of minors.

It's a good thing Congressman King watches FOX news. That's the only other place he would have seen it. I heard a short clip this morning of Glenn Beck saying other news sources wouldn't cover this, and I thought it was the silliest thing I'd ever heard him say. It's a scandal and was certainly going to be all over every news site on the Internet. I was wrong. As of 4 p.m. EDT, I can't find anything about this on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, or NBC. I simply cannot believe the media cover-ups that are going on in this country. It is horrifying beyond belief.

Fox is not "extreme," unless you consider reporting itself extreme. Is it less liberal than other media? Absolutely. They also have a much higher viewer base than other media sources. I don't watch them because of that, and I am not "brainwashed." Fox reports on things that are never addressed on other channels. I am a real person, and I'm neither an oppressor or a victim. I read news from numerous sources, but those do not include the Huffington Post or NPR. Writing, emailing or calling capital hill will help the reality of investigation/punishment possible. "We the people" are making a difference. Americans derailed immigration "reform", we are making a huge impact on nixing obamacare and if we let the chumps on the hill know we are paying attention, it will make a difference with this issue as well.

I called my local FBI field office and spoke with an investigator. I said, "I just viewed some very disturbing video on an organization named ACORN where employees of that organization are advising someone on committing Tax Fraud, and how to bring illegal, underaged girls in from another country to participate in prostitution. I am very disturbed and hope that the FBI will consider investigating this organization to the fullest extent of the law."

I too listened and hear this on Glen Beck's show and thought that he HAD to be wrong about the media not reporting on this. So I made sure that I caught my usual station, WMFE, Channel 9 in Orlando, afor the 6:00 o'clock news nd NOTHING! I then listened to World News Tonight with Charles Gibson at 6:30 P.M. and AGAIN NOTHING! That was almost more scary than the ACORN clip! The Orlando Sentinel did not even cover the Van Jones resignation last week! We looked for 2 days, not a peep! I am done with the regular news and want my husband to cancel our newspaper subscription since they are no longer journalists, but cowards. I will get the truth from now on by either listening to Fox News, listening to the Talk Show hosts and on the Internet. God help us all~

Joanne, I think the answer is that the only place to find honest politicians is to elect people who are not politicians. That means people like us, who have had enough of the corruption, need to seriously consider running for offices. Smaller, local offices at first perhaps, but we need to do it. I think there are decent people out there who would run if we asked and encouraged them to.

It is horrifying the networks aren't covering this. I believe that we should not only call and demand a Congressional investigation into Acorn, we should call the networks and express our concern over the cover-ups. We should also contact the commercial sponsors of the networks and express our dismay and how we are not going to watch the networks, and thus not see their advertisements, until this behavior changes drastically.

Whatever happened to RICO statutes? Seems like there was a RICO prosecution every 6 months a few years ago, now it's all but unheard of. I've been a frustrated as you are, so I started writing my Senators and Reps, tho , I don't think they care. Now I'm doing all I can to attend the Tea Party activities, and just stay informed. I respond to EVERY possible email and petition drive available. Probably doesn't do any good, but helps me feel I'm doing something. I'm scared to death we are really in trouble already; and like you, it makes me sick. When I see others responding and wanting to DO SOMETHING, it makes me feel I'm not alone in my feelings. I'm a senior citizen and won't have to see all the damage being done, but my children and grandchildren surely will. I'm also doing what I can to see that they become informed…Carry on…
I believe our problems are due to class warfare. The Left has succeeded in convincing the less successful sectors of our population that the solution to their problems is Socialism – taking from the wealthy (and ultimately, the middle-class). Conservatives, Libertarians and Moderates – all those who still believe in a free society and Capitalism, must wake up and find a way to convince them otherwise. There is still hope, but only if the freedom-loving people stand up NOW. Not since the Civil War has America faced such a formidable enemy – itself. If the Leftists succeed, they will dismantle the mechanics of Democracy, making a change in power almost impossible. The battle is fought starting at the local level, then the state, and ultimately, our Congressmen and Senators. We MUST demand that those we elect stand for smaller government, state's rights and for upholding the Constitution and Capitalist principles.
I wouldn't get your hopes up that this administration is going to out an organization that was instrumental in getting Obama elected. I mean think about it. Much of what would likely be dug up would only look bad on Obama as a former "community organizer" not to mention the prospect of turning up countless falsified voters registrations. I'm betting we would all be pretty shocked after discovering how many times Mickey Mouse actually voted across the country, not to mention donating to Obama's campaign.

I can’t believe there is actually a Representative who is willing to
challenge this corrupt group of thugs. They would not be so dangerous
if we pulled the rug from under them. It’s not just these two African-
American women, it starts at the top. There are two White Plantation
owners who are skimming off funds from their own companies. These
organizations have their hands in everything. ACORN & SEIU are almost
totally funded by the tax payer. They were and still are involved with
obtaining toxic mortgage loans from Fannie & Freddie. These two mortgage
lenders started the meltdown of our Banking Corporations which the tax
payers had to bail out. This practice seriously weakened our economy.
Before they are handed a pass on the CENSUS, we have to
STOP THE FUNDS. This calls for an investigation and not by the people
who have a vested interest in the Obama Administration. This is very BIG.
I hope Rep.Steve King does not back down from this investigation.

Note that Cass Sunstein easily passed a cloture vote in the Senate, with hardly a mention in the News. Mark Lloyd (FCC Czar) praises Hugo Chavez's nationalization of the media, and wants the same here.
On the one hand, if we survive this putsch, we will come out shaken, but wide awake and more determined to be free. On the other hand, if they succeed, we will see dark days ahead.
And whether you're religious or not, our government was founded on the belief that man has divine rights endowed by God, while the Left derives it's power from the corrupt and imperfect institutions of Man. That is why the Left must first turn us away from God, for that leaves only the institutions of Man as the ultimate authority. Not long ago two officers of ACORN were fired… they requested an audit of ACORN's books. The President paid them $800,000 during his campaign. They are receiving a large chunk of Stimulus money. They are under investigation for voter fraud in 14 or 15 states! They have their checks sent to a blind drop in an old funeral home along with hundreds of other organizations.
I don't think it is a giant leap to suspect it is a totally corrupt organization!
I wrote the White House and one of my Senators yesterday. My other senator that I plan to write to today once introduced an amendment to end federal funding of ACORN – Sen. David Vitter. It was voted down. I am going to write to him and see if he can slip that amendment into another bill – maybe this time it will pass. I'm not a bookkeeper, but I doubt the $.38 goes to another state. If this were so, some state is getting mighty rich. Rather, I suppose the Feds consider the $.38 as a 'service charge' for handling your state's dollar.
