If Tomorrow’s Political Theater Had a Trailer, it Would Look Like This
by Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX)The Democrat Blair House Project is nothing more than political theater in a desperate attempt to legitimize a failed government-run health care agenda. The American people aren’t buying the Democrats’ sales pitch of this new-found effort to include Republicans. After years of shutting Republicans out of the legislative process, one photo-op will not erase the American people’s memory of Nancy Pelosi’s closed-door Congress.
This fall, Democrats may face historic backlash for their failure to listen to the American people and govern effectively. Support the NRCC (www.nrcc.org).

Ram it down Mac Daddy throat, and start today. I can hear this incompetent lame duck quacking right now!
Congressmann Sessions,
I respectfully request that you and your Congressional Republican colleagues do not Aid and Abet the Obama Administration, in the furtherance and perpetration of this Health Care "Hoax" on the American people. It would be unconscionable if you saddled future generations with the sin of this collossal debt obligation. I implore you Republicans to do what is right, what is just, what is honorable, and disassociate yourselves from this sham proceedings.
Mr. sessions that is hilarious, i can't stop laughing.
I hope I feel the same way after tomorrow night…
I would expect to see a real emphasis in the MSM to play up the presence and obstinance of the Republicans that show up. This way they can legitimize going over their heads with "reconciliation" (one of those words that has been redefined in "Demo-speak" to mean "getting what we want," not "bringing parties together").
They are bankrupting our great grandchildren!
No taxation before respiration!
Show up, make a grand statement and walk out enmasse!
Let them have their own CSPAN show, no one will watch anyway.
or maybe set the record straight- unfortunately the list of those appearing is heavy on those who seek the cameras; notably McCain, and McConnell.
Obama is licking his chops on debating them. But Coburn, an MD will be there. They need to clearly elucidate the differences between cost effective health care and a socialist takeover.
Think they're up to the task?
Let Coburn go at 'em! I'm sure that's why he won't be in any of the footage.
Congressman Sessions,
I know you won't read this, but someone on your staff will, because Iknow everyone who submits material here likes to know the type feedback they get.
I coined this phrase several months back, and it was widely circulated here. Give Mr. Obama a message for US. For WE the People. Tell him:
Rham it down our throats in 2010
We'll jam it up your ass in 2012.
Granted, it might not be very nice, nor considered appropriate in civil circles, but someone will get the point.
Show up and when he speaks, stand up, turn around, and show him your back. After 10 minutes, leave.
Nope. McCain and McConnell couldn't get through a glass door if it didn't say "Push" or "Pull" on it.
I heard Senator Coburn speak in Oklahoma in August at a town hall meeting. I was impressed!
There are a few genuine lights in Congress right now, and I think he's one of them.
He he.
our point exactly. They are there for self aggrandizement. There is a concern here that this will represent a carnival shooting gallery with Obama the barker:
'Step right up, and take a shot. Costs 2-3 trillion. Careful, the target's a moving one. Next'…
You can almost taste it…
Dear Congressman Sessions.
I hope you understand that the broad (but narrowing) group of middle class Americans who are taxpayers, have families and do not take government handouts are against this progressive and radical bill (in whatever form it finally takes, when we get actual legislative language that we can read – instead of puff pieces that the CBO cannot score). If the Republicans show up for this day of posturing and accept the healthcare proposals posted on Monday as your starting point, it is a no-go for all of us. We will not accept the overhaul of our system which gives the centralized federal government more control over our lives. We are being nanny-stated to death as it is and we cannot and will not put up with much more. Your conservative proposals are good, tort reform, sell insurance across state lines, promote participation in Health Savings Accounts (why is this not FRONT AND CENTER? It works, I know), portability. Make it work like competitive auto insurance and let the capital markets price it without too much regulation and interference by all levels of government.
Thank you for your time and we appreciate your contribution.
I want to puke, every time I see that senile old McCain, and phoney Mitch McConnell.
#^Q&W$*E(R^&T^Y&*_^)&%(^$*%#^$@&&#*$^(%)T&^_ !
"one photo-op will not erase the American people’s memory of Nancy Pelosi’s closed-door Congress."
I'd be satisfied if they could erase my memory of nancy pelosi's face.
Shoving it down our throats? if he means the now defunct Senate bill, he would be right, but clearly the populace is in favor of a public option. Here are some stats, I have many more at my finger tips if you like, but I will start with a small sampling.
Arkansas… Favor 55%, Oppose 38%
Connecticut Favor 68%, Oppose 21%
Kentucky… Favor 46%, Oppose 45%
Maine….Favor 58%, Oppose 29%
Montana*.. Favor 47%, Oppose 43%
Nebraska*.. Favor 39%, Oppose 47%
Nevada….. Favor 52%, Oppose 40%
[Ohio (from Quinnipiac poll)… Favor 57%, Oppose 37%
Here is a comparison of the Senate bill to the Public Option!
* In Nevada, only 34% support the Senate bill, while 56% support the public option.
* In Illinois, only 37% support the Senate bill, while 68% support the public option.
* In Washington State, only 38% support the Senate bill, while 65% support the public option.
* In Missouri, only 33% support the Senate bill, while 57% support the public option.
* In Virginia, only 36% support the Senate bill, while 61% support the public option.
* In Iowa, only 35% support the Senate bill, while 62% support the public option.
*In Minnesota, only 35% support the Senate bill, while 62% support the public option.
* In Colorado, only 32% support the Senate bill, while 58% support the public option.
Do you think they should start answering to the majority of the people, or to the minority??
You tell 'em Cowboy!! That's how the majority of Americans really feel!!!
I believe that the Repubs will fall like a house of cards!!! They have no spine to stand up against this marxist administration!!! they have shown their fear in the past!! It would be better if they didn't show up!!!
Sen Sessions we don't want this healthcare POS!!! And no compromise, the whole thing is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
very eloquent. Yes, it is they who are responsible for the creation of the Tea Party movement.
It was BECAUSE of them…
I stand by my request that the Republicans send out a last minute press announcement that they will not attend the obama show, but will hold their own summit, outside, where the democrats have kept them all along.
Cowboy, I vote we send in veterinarians, with a full load of blue needles and give them an actual demonstration of what state run health care's goal is.
Oops Rep Sessions. Same message though!!!!!!!!11
Obamacare is like the villain in a movie (The Democrat Blair House Project). You know, the often played scene where the villain is knocked out of commission but not finished off, then regains himself to continue the attack. We, the audience, yell at the screen for the good guy to kill off the bad guy while there is a chance to, but the stupid good guy just takes off leaving the villain only stunned.
We are at that point in this ("The Democrat Blair House Project") movie, and it's time for the (Obamacare) villain to be finished off once and for all.
Republicans … don't be the stupid good guy this time. Don't leave the healthcare monster still breathing.
hockey, did the stats say who would favor it if their taxes went up? did the stats say who would support it if they could not keep their own insurance? did the stats say that those in favor of the public option would be willing to pay for it?
Now there is a great idea! While Barry the Brazen with his Burnished Brass Balls is inside pompously pontificating and pounding his…………..podium; Senator Inhofe could lead the Republicans outside to his Igloo, and convene his hearings on the Algore Blobal Warming Hoax.
Kill two birds with one stone type of day. Get our real moneys worth…..
Cool!
That got my vote.
You're being kind of hard on the old guy, he did well holding the door open for Obama to pass through.
Congressman Sessions,
What have YOU DONE to stop the radical machine of the progressive movement in DC? Did you stand up and scream out 'ENOUGH OF ALL THIS BULLSH*T'? Did you organize any type of sit-in, boycott of business as usual, I'm not talking about a filibuster, I'm talking good old fashioned walk out, break protocol? Do you understand that Americans have had it with all of you? No no don't say 'it wasn't me', you are there you are part of it, I haven't seen any vids on YouTube of you walking out of a vote in protest screaming at the top of your lungs about how unconstitutional the acts this admin and Congress are.
When was the last time your read the Constitution?
Do you guys understand the HELL that is coming YOUR way if ALL of you don't stop this course you ALL have put this country on?
Aghh don't bother "we the people" are through with all of you…..
To my fellow Patriots I ask what are you prepared to do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F452KybPEnQ , is the question you must seriously ask yourself!? Its time for "out of the box" thinking in dealing with all politicians, bias fringe media and special interest groups who are only working for their own interest. Unconventional actions is what is going to be needed to affect real change for America through http://www.savingtherepublic.com

Thats the role he plays best. Lackey.
They ought to get the two of them matching lawn jockey outfits for tomorrow……..
In 2010 we'll just pin you down, in prep for 2012.
You mean the Big Pharma Obama made a sweet deal with in exchange for $150 million in po9litical advertising? That Big Pharma?
That's the key- far too many poll respondents are all in favor of "free" health care. TANSTAAFL.
That's really funny CL.
Now, which summit do you think would steal all of the headlines?
Yes, but just remember that obama's bill spends a lot of money to assure many of our children never gain respiration.
Have we learned nothing from Admiral Ackbar?
It's a trap
I'm sure it will be the "Barrackapolous".
I wonder, will he be surrounded by the styrofoam Greek Pillars again?
Will he appear in flowing white robes, carrying two stone tablets with his demands written on them? Will there be choirs singing, and cherubim and serafin floating and flitting around?
(Can't you just envision the likes of Bwarney Fwank dwessed as a cherub?) I can hardly wait until he addresses Congress.
From rasmussenreports.com (Feb. 23,2010)
– "A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 41% of voters favor the proposed health care plan, while 56% oppose it. Those figures include 45% who strongly oppose the plan and just 23% who strongly favor it.
– "Earlier this month, just after the president called for a bipartisan summit meeting to get his health care reform plan back on track, 61% of voters said Congress should scrap that plan and start all over again.
– " Only 35% of voters believe Congress should pass health care reform before the upcoming midterm elections anyway. Fifty-four percent (54%) say Congress should wait until voters select new congressional representatives in November.
– "Interestingly, 63% of voters also think it would be better for the country if most incumbents in Congress were defeated this November."
YOU PROGRESSIVE IDIOTS ARE STANDING IN THE WAY OF A JUGGERNAUGHT THAT IS GOING TO CRUSH YOU!
I count at least 7 priceless mental images in that comment. You are a master.
But I disagree about the headlines. Nobody would be able to ignore the Republican Summit. The msm would condemn the Republican impudence. And everyone else would be talking about their ideas.
Why do you bother us with you Puffington Host, faire tales Obama Boi?
We know better, take you meds.
LOL
Furthermore, it will probably snow, and then Obama can simply blame Bush……….
(I wonder, when Gore lost to Bush, he went insane and never recovered. Do you think that everytime Gore sees snow, or hears about snow, that he walks around muttering "Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush" to himself, while slowly shaking his melon head? He probably is convinced it is all a Bush conspiracy).
It's interesting that establishment conservatives only notice "big government" when it's something their political enemies want. When conservatives want it, apparently it doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants a trillion-dollar foreign war, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants 800 military bases in 130 countries, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants a 700-billion-dollar bank bailout, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants to spend billions fighting a needless and destructive War on Drugs, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants to give the Executive unchecked powers to spy and kill and ignore 4th Amendment rights, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants to spend billions building border fences, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants to "protect" the huge, unjust, and terribly inefficient Social Security and Medicare programs, that doesn't count.
• If a conservative wants billions in farm subsidies, that doesn't count.
The fact is, liberals and conservatives both want big government. Their visions just look a little different from each other.
45,000 peo[ple die every year b/c of no health care ohhh yaa that is hilarious.
over a hundred republican amendments are in the bill. they have been working togeather.
RNC and DNC are corrupt conglomerates, in monopoly alliance, with the U.S. media conglomerates. These collusion of these two conglomerates, operating above the law, is for the sole purpose to further each others self interests.
Any tax paying legal U.S citizen that, as of this date, believe them to be a valid or trust-worthy source for the betterment of their lives, their families or their communities, is a fool.
God help us all should the predominate majority of U.S. citizens prove to be fools.
if the republcans oppose this bill like every other bill that has come throw the senate. then the dems. will use reconciliation to pass the public option and yes the majority of american wants a public option.
Repetition does not strengthen your argument.
Look at the growth of medicare and see why I am skeptical of all gov't healthcare claims.
Remember, the DMV is an example of an efficient, well-run, customer-focused gov't agency.
are you kidding me. this issue isn't a movie 45,000 americans die every year b/c of no health care we need to do something about this.
don't forget about the fact that 45,000 americans die every year b/c of no health care!!!!
he forgot the stat that said 45,000 americans die every year b/c of no health care.
hey one of millions, Organizing for America has 15 million people and moveon.org has 5 million people. how many teabaggers are there. b/c according to their site it is 3million.
so, royalty has its privlages. The peasants need to understand, its his throne, his townhall meeting, he sets the rules. Well maybe we shouldn't elect dukes and duchesses to the senate, we should elect a representative of the people instead and make sure the SOB knows who is the damned boss.
Sorry word limit: get back to our roots. Flat tax should be the banner of the day. This all started with Clinton and NAFTA. He did more to destroy this country and the current admin is building on it. Bush and his progressive movement started the bailout process, WHICH WE WERE AGAINST! Don't blame the Conservatives. We need to clean up Washington and get the DEMS and REPUBS out of office. They are ALL TO BLAME. The SPENDING NEEDS TO STOP, WE NEED A BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE FED, just like the States, we need to get rid of REGULATIONS which prohibit business from prospering. You are PREACHING TO THE CHOIR. JOIN US to get our country BACK and better for our children and grandchildren. I'm teaching my grandchildren, through books and lectures, that their DEBT and LOSS of FREEDOM does not need to be. THEY MUST KEEP and EYE on their FREEDOMS or they will be GONE, JUST LIKE NOW
If it is true, and if the amendments are in substantial areas, I will be delighted. I am doubtful, however, that any bill to come from this group of Democrats, Obomites, and RINO's will be sufficiently or significantly influenced by the handful of Constitutional conservatives allowed to participate. Good luck to them. We need to see some changes in the system, but most of those changes could be done with evolution, not revolution. Thanks for your comment; I appreciate it.
Less than 1% of the oft-quoted 30,000,000 who are uninsured? That's not a statistic, that's a rounding error!
And how in the world is it provable? If people are dead, how do you ask them if it was because of no health care? Families who may not have gotten them to an emergency room are not reliable sources!
I wish they wouldn't go; but the RINOS have probably been told to do so.
Jeff hang up your mom's calling you to take out the garbage.
I don't know where you got you stats, but the last I saw was that Arkansans were 63% against the health care bill. That's why Blanche Lincoln trails by 27% in her re-election bid!
We'll see who has the numbers 11/2 jeff.
You are confusing Conservatives with RINOs. Conservatives have been against almost all those things. That is what the TEA Parties are all about. We CONSERVATIVES are tired of the spending on BOTH sides!
Go Cowboy go! Maybe someday someone will listen, but I fear that "we the people" are our own worst enemy!
Like all the rest, absolutely nothing was done by anyone! But then, they got free health care for life, besides everything else that they steal from us!
As I said in previous post, this was the reason for the Civil war. Slavery was a red-herring created by some of the founding fathers to play out down the road! It's called Internal Personality Type (people who feel that they control their own destiny) verses External Personality Types (people who feel that they don't control their own future and "fate is the hunter" (Great movie!)! In fact, how many of you know that before the civil war, except for illegal Irish Jesuits, no Roman Catholics(External Personality Types) were allowed into America! They did their job, didn't they! Now, Roman Catholicism is the biggest Christian Denomination in America, bigger then the others combined! The Progressives can't lose, but we are going to big time!
lick me troll
Someone should come with a software program the can eliminate all pictures of particular people that they find disturbing on their computers. I would pay good money for that….
Crackhead!
Since the MA senate election, Obi Von Salami has started work on his 2012 bid. Trying to do damage control….
Repulicans gaining ground = paint them in a corner or hook them into passing a bad bill
CPAC called him Socialist – refuting being a socialist
Use TARP to buy elections
He will sink to lower level tactics once the election season starts.
hehehehe
Well, I have learned from the best…
'45,000 peo[ple die every year b/c of no health care ohhh yaa that is hilarious'

BMartin1776…………How many years has it been since one Congressman challenged another
to a duel, to settle their differences?
And this statement is based on findings from what university in England there Jeffy.??????
Sen Sessions in the great state of Texas you have made Tort Reform a reality. You have opened your borders to more Insurance companies than any other state in the union. You have seen the benefits from doing so. As someone that has worked within the insurance industry I have seen the rediculous reasoning of states to regulate and minimize the number of insurance companies allowed to do business in a state.
These recommendations usually come from the state insurance commisioner whom is apointed by the current standing Governor of that state. It is also no secret that the commisioner is usually someone that has been working within the insurance industry of a company already doing business within that state. This is a gross conflict of interest and never benefits the consumers best interest.
I hope that you and the rest of the Republican Party ware the badge of "NO" where it pertains to this unprecidented financial burden the Democrats are trying to push on the American People.
I do hope however that you will work on reform one step at a time to bring Tort Reform and cross border purchasing of insurance a reality.
Thems some impressive numbers there Jeffy….
How did all your millions stack up in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts.
What a circus. I can’t wait until the elephant takes a giant dump on the ringleader Obama, oops. ringmaster.
Well, if Nancy Pelosi's going to be there, it's more of a Blair Witch Project.
I give no money to the national RINO committees. I give money directly to Conservative candidates. None to the GOP. None to the RNC. None to the NRCC. None to the NRSC.
Perhaps instead of quoting some random statistics and cherrypicking the ones you like, you should provide a link to this crucial data that we are so sorely in need of.
Amen.
this bill will cut 1 trillion dollars off are national debt. that is more money then any other republican has done.
Ya, you are right, that was my point exactly, we belong to a plutocracy, the people's voices are drowned by the billion spent by the corporatist who have assumed control, and have held that control for better than 30+ years!!
You are right, the Senate bill was terrible, that is the point of the polls, read it again. The first poll asks the question, would you support a public option, the second poll asks, would you prefer a public option over the Senate bill.
Why are we allowing corporations decide our future?
Guess what, the Conservatives don't want any of the things you mention. The only RIGHTS given to the FED
Govt are to protect the citizens. This includes building FENCES to keep out illegal immigrants. I'm in favor of
spending the money for that project. This is what we are fighting for, Mr. Independent. We KNOW it's broken and do not want to increase the entitlements, but rather get rid of them. This includes Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, No Child Left Behind, Head Start, Armies in Germany, Japan and elsewhere overseas, finish the war and get out. We realize that this will not happen overnight, but will be a long drawn out process to .
Ah, wldbil, I told you before I do not read Huff post, my resources are unbiased, they will slam the left just as hard as the right, wrong is wrong my friend.
The concern isn't that the Obama approach will literally nationalize for-profit health insurers. Rather, it is that for-profit health insurers will continue evolving into heavily subsidized firms that function as public utilities, and that seek advantage by gaming the political process. Profits, including profits governed by medical loss ratios, can and will then be cycled into political action, which leads to the anxiety concerning a "corporate takeover of the public sector.
The Senate bill yes, but not the public option.
PUBLIC OPTION: Arkansas voters favor a public option 56% to 37%. Independents favor it 57% to 32%. Democrats 83% to 12%.
2010 GENERAL ELECTION: If Lincoln joined Republicans in filibustering a public option, 35% of Independents would be less likely to vote for her, 10% more likely. (Over 3 to 1). Among Democrats, 49% to 7% (7 to 1). Lincoln is only 2% ahead of Republican Gilbert Baker (41% to 39%), a net drop of 5% since last month's Research 2000 poll.
Is that all you got???
Yep! You deserve nothing else.
OK Obama boi
You too have a way with flaming trolls…I like it!
HELL yes Coburn damn sure is. Coburn for POTUS 2012 !
[...] it seems that this video fails to take today’s health care Kabuki theater summit seriously, [...]
